Love Matthew Street the Cavern Club when I am on holiday was disappointed no Cilla statue there as it was there last time when I was in Liverpool to remember Cilla with her music

I have to be honest, I had NO IDEA who this was - but every Brit around me did! They were a bit - not offended - but SHOCKED that I didn't know the name. <shrug> So I had my picture taken anyway. THEN, an older gent said to me: every hear of a little song "what's it all about, Alfie?" Well! Why didn't they say that? People in England (and likely the states) don't realize that our musical history cataloge is not identical. So, yeah (yeah, yeah).

(Translated) Cilla Black is a singer from Liverpool who sang many times at the cavern in the early 60s. Just behind her, the emergency exit that served as the main entrance to the most famous club in town! (Original) Cilla Black est une chanteuse originaire de Liverpool qui a chanté de nombreuses fois à la cavern au début des années 60. Juste derrière elle, l'issue de secours qui faisait office d'entrée principale du plus fameux club de la ville !

I don't know who she is or why she's posing like that, but it's true that I instinctively wanted to take the photo. It is unique to bronze statues that no matter how many times you point the camera at them, they never make a disgusted face and never stop smiling.

Right where the entrance to The Cavern used to be. The history is a bit confusing and to top it off there are several Caverns and pubs around that claim to be the Beatles'.

The statue of Cilla Black is on Mathew Street, at the original entrance to The Cavern Club. She was a great singer and friend of the Beatles. It's worth taking a few minutes and photographing it, of course!!!!!!
