Reviews of God's Own Junkyard
I was in the area for work so decided to check this place out. It is really beautiful. I especially like how there are religious statues but it isn't disrespectful or distasteful, which you don't get a lot of recently. You can buy food and drink and plenty of space to sit down. There is a little bar as well. Friendly staff. Overall really nice place to chill!
This was a great experience, seems so surreal taking in all the amazing, creative and colourful neon art work and displays.
The owners are very friendly and chatty.
I was surprised to see there was a cafe inside, so I treated myself to a yummy lunch and coffee.
A modern day mecca for those after a sensory experience. Was very grateful one of the guys who makes the signs showed us around a bit and pointed out the various films that the signs were in. There is also an on site cafe for a bite to eat or beer amongst all the neon signage. There seemed to be lots of missed opportunity to monetise the place a bit more but perhaps that's what gives it extra charm. If you want to go when it's dead quiet, Friday mornings is the time to go apparently.
Such a unique place in London. A bit hidden but certainly worth a visit. A neon heaven! And they' re playing Heaven - amazing playlist on the background. Plus, great tea and cake!
Fantastic place to see in London, changed a lot from last time I was there, now more a cafe than a museum now. Still very worth a look
Loved the neon signs , avoid having food here though ! Had possibly the worst BLT ever in my life , and that was my 3rd option after they told me they had no burgers or paninis or ingredients for a late brunch.. Go for the signs and stop for a drink
Just fun. About a 15 minute walk from
Walthamstow station, you end up in a wicked little yard with a couple of bars and this art gallery. Grab a beer and wander looking at the hundreds of pieces adorning the walls. It’s a great way to spend an hour and actually, the afternoon could easily be wiled away in the yard itself. Entry is free so dip in and out.
Walthamstow itself has a few big chain eateries, some east end style pubs and everything you need if you don’t wana charge about London. But if your main reason is just to go to the yard then you won’t be disappointed.
A colour-saturated random accumulation of neon, electronic and static discarded signage, props and…frankly; junk.
Some original, some bespoke in a former warehouse setting pulsing with vibe and attitude.
Fluorescent tongue-in-cheek deliberate stage-crafting and (of course) “flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark.”
As if Las Vegas had given up the ghost of electricity and shut down; this the flotsam and jetsam graveyard.
A basic café here with little in the way of alternative nor vegan options.
Potentially hazardous for unsupervised young children.
Essentially delightful!
An amazing array of neons and other oddities to take in with a small selection of gifts to be purchased. A relaxed atmosphere, so you can browse as long as you like, and an ideal place to meet with friends for a small bite. The traditional cream tea is the nuts (scones are so fresh). Parking on site, Sufficient for about 30 cars. Why not combine your visit with a trip next door to Mothers Ruin Gin Palace, or the small brewery opposite...definitely well worth a visit. I'm fortunate enough to live fairly local so I've been multiple times and find something new to see each visit.
A real quirky and interesting place. They have a bar within the place too. Really cool things inside and there will also be something you didn’t see the first time you were around. The staff were friendly and helpful
Very quirky place with tons of neon lights and retro decorations. Good to bring friends and impress them with the place. However it’s not a place that you want to have food and drink, as the choice is quite limited and basic (maybe due to covid times). I would suggest a can of their label larger that is brewed by a near by brewery.
Unique spot north of the city, has some amazing neon lights. Great spot for Instagram photos. Has a bar/restaurant inside for when you are done wondering about taking photos. There is also few other bars round about if it is too busy - well worth a visit
Very cool to walk through, but there are several inappropriate signs and a lot of neon so it may be overwhelming some and parents need to understand there are signs your kids may ask about. Definitely worth the visit.
If the breweries are not your thing the high street is a very short walk with several food options.
Brilliant spot for spending couple hrs here at weekends. It's like a visual maze inside, but who knows, perhaps you will meet your Miss and Mr. right at the corner.
Really lovely. It's a short stay unless you want to have something to eat and drink, but worth the trip, I think.
An amazing place, you can find the whole world here.
Super unique place to visit with free entry, the neon signs are dazzling and really cool to find old signs that have some history.
It's a smallish area with a few nooks, but jam packed with things to look at in all directions so take your time to spot all to the oddities.
There is also the Rolling Scones cafe inside which also includes a pleasant little garden, grab yourself something to eat and a Wild Card Brewery beer just made opposite in the estate.
nice and warm. the bathroom is not the best but bearable
It's a lovely place... Also, they serve fooooood and goooood beer!
A magical museum that will brighten your mood. It's impossible not to smile as you investigate all the cool nooks and crannies of this neon wonderland.
This place is awesome with a really nice looking coffee bit inside
Great place for a drink!I was doing research for a project. The owner was really nice and excellent atmosphere.
Giving this 5 stars based on novelty alone. Just an amazing space, really brilliant and not like anywhere I've ever been. Drinks and pretty standard but you're paying for the atmosphere here. A fun, unusual place for a drink.
Great place, amazing for photos, free entry and cafe with decent prices
Not only is God's Own Junkyard a wonderful spot for some neon spotting and cocktails but for commissioning your own piece too. We commissioned a small piece for our wedding and from start to finish it was an excellent experience. Matt was great in helping us realise our final design and it was great to be able to customise all the aspects (e.g. colour, backing material). We even had the text designed in our own handwriting. The processes took about 8 weeks and Matt was very good at letting us know time frames etc.
Venue boasts a good menu with both hot and cold food, alcohol and plenty of cake! It's a great setting that is full of neon signs and a lovely little garden out the back too
This place is epic. So bizarre and off the wall. Highly recommended for a look at some crazy cool stuff!!! Great carrot cake too.
It’s a great place to visit during the weekend. At the moment is not very busy at all. I had an espresso coffee and an avo on toast. The atmosphere is crazy unique.
Wow well worth a visit to this bsr and museum amazing
Neontastic! Cute cafe with a whole bunch of neon. Some more vegan options would be great!
Amazing space, the kids loved it too!! (Good thing that didn’t question why all the signs meant 😂🤣)
What cool and original place. Whisked I had discovered it before. Definitely Italy worth the trip.
Out of the way, but definitely worth a visit. Looks exactly like the pictures. I think the cafe is more of a way to help them generate some income than a place known for it's food, but it's a nice excuse to linger a little longer in a cool place.
Lovely little place with cool neon signs. Has a bar which we didn't go in to. Doesnt take long to go around, but very good photo opportunities. Novelty place in London.
Really great place to grab a beer and some food.
Very bright and colourful, maybe not the best place for children who have a tendency to touch everything they see. But it's fun to wander around and guess which neon sign appeared in which film.
Lovely place, its beautifully maintained. Defo a worth visiting and clicking some amazing pictures. The owner was very friendly and calm. We were allowed to take as many pictures as we liked. There is no fee to enter its free. There is also a mini cafe in the junkyard that serves fresh snacks.
the majority of it is the cafe but I love food and the food is pretty good and the staff are really lovely. the outside is really pretty as well (the outside of the cafe/round the back of the place). you can buy a fair amount of the stuff too which I was surprised about. even during covid it's probably run similarly to how it's run normally just with social distancing and mandatory masks and hand gel on entry and exit. I really liked it! also recommend mother's ruin gin palace for afterwards - the owner is SO lovely and they're really quiet so it's nice to relax there after a busy gallery like god's own junkyard (and it's reasonably priced considering it's gin). he explained everything really well and was really friendly
I love love love love love this place. I was there like 5 times already and I can't stop thinking about this place. It's place of London which you must see in your to do list. So many neon lights, so many fantastic stuff around. You eyes will not stop looking everywhere. You will be impressed. You will be wanted to grab a coffee or tea with a snack and just stay there for a hour and even longer because they are selling craft beers too from nice brewery, they have different cakes, cookies, paninis, toasts, nachos and lots of stuff. Also, they have a wonderful little garden and sits in the front of cafe by the colourful funky cow. Yeah. It's sound amazing and crazy. You must see it. Cafe is open only on Friday and weekends. Check there website for more. I can't wait when I will have free time to go back there again.
If you have some free time, come to see it yourself.
Its amazing, although I though it would be bigger though.
What a lovely surprise this place is. Great music playing and a really friendly atmosphere. The cafe serves basic food and drinks but the real attraction are the hundreds of old neon signs, placards and posters. It's off the beaten track but worth the effort.
Kind of a struggle to get to but it looked so cool it was worth it. I took my friend here for a surprise for her early birthday outing. There were also other people since it’s a popular location as seen in Tiktok lol. I noticed quite a few of the signs were inappropriate but I doubt anyone cares lol we just avoided taking pictures in front of those or cut it out the pictures. It’s great for pictures, everyone’s pictures turned out great without much effort. There’s also a cafe but I forgot the menu prices I’m sure it should be affordable tho who knows and apparently they’ve got they’re own beer not that I even drink lol I just seen it, can’t tell you how it tastes tho. Hope this was helpful 👍🏼
Amazing place. Had a good Sunday lunch and the younger folk were drinking cocktails which looked good. Nice staff.
Amazing and unique place. Definitively worth a visit. Really nice and helpful staff. There is also a café.
Super cool place with so much to see! Could spend so long in here looking to find all the signs. Perfect Instagram spot but you can't use cameras (phones are allowed).
Theres a cafe which is okay in terms of price, not much seating. Cool place nonetheless. There's a couple of breweries and bars next door also!
Super cool place. The story goes... the owner used to collect neons when they were no longer needed or replaced by new signs. Now here we have huge amount of great neons. It looks awesome.
There's cafe inside and shop as well.
Really great place to.visit.
Wonder ambience with antiques, artwork and dioramas with neon signage everywhere. Your eyes will never get bored. You need big pockets if you want to buy from this museum/showroom though. You will see wonderfully creative displays and props from film and TV, which you can enjoy with a sit down and refreshments served from the bar, if a little overpriced.
Absolutely amazing. What a unique and impressive place. Had lunch there too.... Lovely burgers! definitely one for the 'to do' list. 😁
It's smaller than what I thought it would be. Nonetheless, it is unique and worth visiting if you don't mind making the journey out there. Definitely a place for good photo opportunities. If you want a bit more out of your experience, you could have a meal at the cafe to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. I can't vouch for the food, as I didn't find anything suitable for myself. To give you an idea what's available, I've attached a couple of pictures of the menu. There's also a small gift shop area that sells various souvenirs, including t-shirts. Toilet on site, which is always handy.
Loved it! An amazing experience! I would highly recommend it. 🙃
Cool place however, the lady at the counter could’ve been nicer and the cup served with tea could’ve been cleaner!
The scenery is excellent. Really vibrant and Instagramable. However, the bar is a bit of a joke. It's just cans and bottles in a fridge, no problem there in essence, but I was hoping for more independent brewers than was available. I got a can of Strongbow and my friend had a larger. It came to £9. I nearly fainted in shock. We had to ask for a glass and ice just to get our money's worth.
Genuinely would tell people to go here, but I'd tell them to look around and then go to the brewery opposite for a drink.
Very nice cafe with decent size menu, very ok food and drinks.
Beautiful place to make photos with smartphone (professional photography not allowed).
But must be careful, you break it you buy it!
One can easily spend 15 - 30 min taking photos and browsing.
really cool place with awesome lights and food. sadly in a bit of a grim part of london.
Wasnt sure what this would be like- but really enjoyed our visit. Some of the light displays might need explaining if you have kids(few swear words). We only had coffee but the breakfasts looked lovely. Walked back through Walthamstow village again lovely.
What a cool junk yard, crazy neon signs. Great staff, lovely little sit down cafe area with vegan cake options too. You can buy trinkets there too. Really fun, bright place to hang out
This place is so unique. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the Walthamstow area, or even worth a trip to the place for the experience. They even serve food here. I just enjoyed the most massive and delicious slice of carrot cake with a glass of wine; the stunning ambience was a cherry on the top.
Come all ye heathens to God's Own Junkyard. A den of neon iniquity this place is an instagrammers dream with plenty to please every eye!
You can wander around and just take in the sights of take a seat and imbibe in delightful coffee, cakes and sandwiches. This place is definitely worth the visit!
This is a bar and a cafe. Amazing neon signs. So worth the trip. Sort of family friendly except the naughty words on the signs. 6/5 would visit again.
This place is perfect to take pictures and also to sit and have a drink with friends. It’s located in a alleyway type place with several other places that serve food. There’s a carpark inside too. Really good vibes, me and my friends had a great time here. They have a mini garden behind to sit or you could sit outside. There’s a upstairs part too, but the day we went it was closed
Psychedelic fascinating enlightening free illuminated art.
Bijou and no professional photography, but phones are permitted, you'll not spend ages here.
Adjacent this complex is a cracking array of industrial brew bars. My kind of places. All the effort into produce, and the beauty of the surroundings comes from functionality, necessity and efficiency. Tickles my engineers brain and stimulates my taste buds with some brilliant local still ciders, and a phenomenal lamb-dog with zappy coriander relish.
A must-visit. A feast for the eyes. Nice cafeteria as well, though severely lacking in vegan-friendly options. 5 stars when it's fully vegan! Good music.
I had a great time here. Its a whole new world inside - neon lights, music, out of the world stuff and nice comfortable bar. I'm pretty sure you won't get tired of taking pictures here. And it's quite busy in the Weekends so i think visiting during weekdays is more preferable.
Mad, eclectic smorgasbord of variety, with a dash of sin! Great place to wonder around and view the spectacle of neon. It's not going to take long to take all this place in, but there is a decent cafe also located inside it. This gaff is an Instagrammers dream!
Incredible collection of neon signs! Go on a weekday to escape the crowds. Also has a nice cafe and bar with outdoor patio seating available. Would be a really cool place to take a date or a friend!
bar and restaurant there too with veggie and vegan, plenty of seating all spread out and lots to look around, quite a bit bigger on the inside than it appears from outside. The biggest glitter ball I have ever seen a status of Jesus with two neon pistols and a virgin Mary in Louis viton amongst other crazy eclectic and mad stuff there. Some old signs from Soho in the 80s too
Amazing cafe with all these amazing lit up signs, nice coffees, snacks, beers...
They also have a delicious space outside, for sunny days, with a small artificial cascade that make a very relaxing sound.
Entry is free, but I recommend buying something from the cafe, to support the place.
This place has been on the to do list for a while and is definitely worth a visit. Great for the experience and for a lot of people a great photo opportunity although it's best to just put your phone away and admire the lights around you. There is a cafe inside God's own Junkyard itself and there are also a lot of places to sit and have a drink outside. Definitely recommend for a sunny day although the Junkyard itself is indoors. Only down side is parking is a bit tricky and it is in the middle of nowhere so you can't build a whole day out around it. It's more of a stop through.
Amazing place. They was missing 65 signs at the time that I went as they just trying to open back because of the lockdown but was still incredible . All the signs will be back by next week which will by 7th of May. Also the entrance is totally Free but you can sit and have a drink or food to help and support the business.
If God had a junkyard this would be it. 👍
What an amazing experience. I loved every minute of it. Be prepared to get your mobile phone out and take lots of photos. The rolling scones cafe inside serves food and drink including alcohol. Well worth a visit
In Walthamstow, this space very much contrasts with the surrounding area. The bright colours surrounding the entire space creates a distraction which allows for complete concentration on what is around. The beauty of it all comes with the inviting nature it has as well as attracting customers to other businesses in the local vicinity.
Fantastic collection of signs and a nice cafe. Just be sure to clarify whether what you're considering buying is an original or a replica, as nothings a bargain.
Quite possibly the most important neon sign loving movie and strip tease themed outlet this side of the moon.
Possibly the only one.
But... It's quite inspirational and just makes you want *everything*.
High prices mean most is out of reach for us mere mortals :) but hey... Avail yourself of the brewery next door and chill x
Beautiful hidden gem, it will take your breath away when you go in! Nice food with decent prices and helpful staff. Family friendly. The area is also nice, just a walk up towards church Street you'll find more cafes, restaurants and shops.
Great, unusual place. Passed by a few times for a browse at all the weird & wonderful items. Reasonably priced cafe with seating area consisting of old bus and tube seats. Generates much interest and more and more businesses seem to be popping up around it.
Oh what fun the lights the BIG lights you can ha e food inside and out. Share the court yard with the breweries. Buy your memorabilia from here too!
God's Own Junkyard is a fantastic - and must see - gallery space with gorgeous neon signs and nick nacks. The café serves amazing cake with vegan options. There is a small loo accessible by steps and steps to the cute outdoor space. Really worth a visit and a wander round.
Luminous & mind-blowing secret treasure of London. So atypical. I had the smile just at the entrance. The food is really good, the music is perfect. I love this place. One of my favourite in London.
One of the greatest places on earth. Walking to God's Own Junkyard is unlike any experience you can rival. Great music, great refreshments and fantastic attire throughout.
Lots of fun and full to the sky of lights!
The food was very nice as well.
Very interesting and quirky.
Amazing amazing amazing. Who would have thought this place existed in London?! Such a cool place. Located in Walthamstow on the Victoria line, Gods Own Junk Yard is located in a small former industrial estate just 10 mins walk from the station. Getting there, you pass by the old Waltham Village, which is a charming and quaint area which transports you to another place outside the hustle and bustle of London.
In the estate, there are two local beer breweries, a gin distillery and two food stands one for curry and the other burgers and finger food.
God's own junk yard itself is a masterpiece from the entrance. You walk in and you are absorbed by the inviting feel of neon signs depicting everything from everywhere. While it might feel overwhelming at first? Take a deep breath and just look at the items carefully. Next thing you know, you will start realising that each corner has a story, and the neon lights and signs are placed in a very strategic manner. Best part of the experience? You can sit there amongst the lights and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with some nice pastries.
On a warm or sunny day, the outside terrace/garden is open with lovely water feature, greenery and an isolated environment.
Do not forget to visit the Jesus shrine and keep an eye out for the Louis Vuitton Channel angel.
Highly recommended 5 stars!
Interesting place to visit (free entry) with it's own cafe but not very big and only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Located on a small industrial estate about 10 minutes walk from Walthamstow Central
very cool place, has a cafe/bar inside too. just next to it are a few breweries with nice beer selection
Bit of a trek to get to. But quirky and eclectic place. Take ur time to explore and better to go after dark so u can enjoy the neon signs
This place is breathtaking, my favourite feature is the gangster Jesus setup they have in a shed. The food is really nice and their own brand beer is lovely
Really cool place with so much to look at, well worth the visit if you live nearby or want a free attraction to visit.
Such a unique place in london to visit, we didn’t get to try the cafe this time, but worth popping by if visiting the breweries closeby.
A place unlike any other full of a dizzying collection of reclaimed neon signs on display for your visual enjoyment. Outside the natural Instagram-baity nature of the location it's also a cool space to just chill and have a beer or snack in.
There's alot on display in a relatively moderate sized space but try and play a mental game of where you think the signs previously lived before becoming part of this 'museum'.
P.S - check out the bars next door when you're done. You won't be disappointed!
Great place to wander around only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Perfect for photos and seeing neon art some of which has appeared in famous films ! Food and drink available so pick a sunny day and sit outside in the back garden and enjoy the unusual !
Really cool warehouse store with a bunch of old Neon signs inside. Take a wander round, go to the café, nice photo opportunities and a brewery opposite. Cool stop off on a weekend in Walthamstow 👍
Haven't been here for a few years, and word has gotten out. A multi coloured kaleidoscope of witty neon - what's not to like. Brilliant!
Amazing lighting and props available and really helpful friendly staff...definitely worth a visit
Great place to come for an hour or so. Had a snack and drink in the garden and a good look round the lights. Definitely worth getting lots of pics. Camera phones only though and just for personal use. Understandable really.
Fantastic array of neon lighting and memorabilia
Great little gem to take instagrammable pictures! Not the place for food and drinks but definitely a shop to visit:)
Insta place 🤩 and they also have a cafe inside ☕️
Amazing, quirky, fabulous neon wonderland... super cool & great little cafe area for snacks & hot food. This place rocks... absolutely loved it!
What’s not to love about this place? A stones throw from a few great food and drink options, with their own bar inside. GOJ is a micro-museum that provides an experience unlike any other.
Really cool place, loved all the neon signs. Surrounded by cool brewery’s so great place for a drink too
Little neon light exhibition in Walthamstow London. Neon lights galore. If you’re looking for some instagram backdrops this is the place to go. Cafe on site offering food and homemade cakes. Try the jam tart 👌Nearest tube is Wood Street Station. It’s about a 10 minute walk from station. Looks like a warehouse from the outside. That’s when you know you’re on the right track. When you see the rolling scones neon you’re at the entrance. PS there is a Doctor Who tardis there. Sign at entry reminds you not to use large cameras, but promotes the use of smartphone photography.
Like Las Vegas in Walthamstow! This is where old Soho sex shop signs go to die and it's a camera phone heaven. Next door are a couple of micro breweries and a gin palace that fill out on weekends with a trendy crowd.
Dont bring the kids, it will only ruin your drinking time.
Amazing collection of vintage neon signs for rent or purchase and a nice coffee shop rolled into one. Definitely worth a visit.
Amazing venue, and well worth the detour!!!
Food is good, beer could be better. Could have stuck with the classics and gotten a whiskey.
As a place to be there are some really cool things to look at and you'll probably find yourself taking lots of photos. It's also good when the bar is open inside as you can get quick drinks and a burger type lunch. A better selection of food options and drinks would have got them an extra star maybe even two however the selection is a bit limited.
Lovely little art gallery and cafe in Walthamstow. The beautiful neon light installations are well worth the visit even though the gallery is a little way out of town. I really didn't want to leave this place because it made me so happy looking at all the colours and lights.
Its a different kind of vibe over here, it was a nice experience . I liked the overall experience over there , I had a good time with my housemates
It is an amazing hidden coffee place in East London where you can enjoy with all their neon's art. Great atmosphere and good food. What else can we ask for?
Impressive little hidden space. Nice to visit (not on a hot day as the lights keep the place hot). Loads of tourists though...
Such beautiful designs of neon lighting
Was NOT disappointed!😍 Literally one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been too. Was definitely worth the journey. The garden was so cute as well.
Loved this. Quirky neon signs and sculptures part of the fabulous e17 art trail.
Super cool place to visit and take pictures, or not, just to look around it's worth a visit. Friends visiting London love this place. Very cool.
As soon as you walk in the place, you just say WOW! It's amazing in their, so many different neon lights. It's crazy! For a smallish area we spent 1hour and 30 minutes in their, its wicked. We also sat down for a coffee which was nice and the prices were good too!
One word - Fun! There's a small cafe and an eclectic collection of neon signs that will blow you away. Nice way to spend a rainy day indoors with friends or your other half.
A bit off the beaten path but absolutely worth it. Drinks and food available much to my surprise. Would absolutely visit again.
Amazing collection!! Explore all the signs big and small it is a reflection of a very interesting sub culture and of course good place to get some clicks for your Instagram. This place is worth a visit.
4* just because I felt the Cafe inside was a bit too overpriced.
Quirky place with cool neon signs and the cafe serves delicious homemade cakes, too! The garden is nice in the summer.
Amazing place. Have to get permission in advance for photography using proper camera but ok to use your phone. Has a place to eat breakfast or lunch.
Good place but rude staff, bad food and worst drinks.
This place is awesome! Edgy, super colourful and full of any sort of neon and weird objects. It’s an art gallery, but also a cafe and a bar. The artsy vibe is great as well as the big cakes selection. Perfect for a casual tea, or for a drink with a small group of friends.
Great place for a soft or alcoholic beverage, plus they play an array of good music along with the quirky neon lights.
A hidden gem of a place. Once you get in, you are transport to a different world. In addition to the thousands of cool and vintage signs and items, there is a small cafe that serves a selection of cakes and food. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Really looks like a junk yard but a well designed one. They sell food and drinks with music but not your typical club setting. Start there with food and drinks before hitting the clubs.
Amazing space, super colourful. It looks great on pictures.
The only disadvantages is being so far from central London, otherwise a place to go!!
It was definitely a fun experience looking at all the beautifully made neon signs on display. It is nothing short of transportive - you are whisked away to a far around land of bright colours, contagious enthusiasm and perhaps a bygone era of rockabilly fashion. Didn’t stay for drinks on this visit but the option is available.
Qwerky place round the back of an industrial site. Literally full of old random junk. Fun place to take pictures and look at all the jazzy neon lights. Coffee and cakes served as well as various lunch items for order. Great experience.
The best place in London with a cafe and bar inside! Would highly recommend as its also free to enter. The owners and his dog are very friendly
Absolutely amazing place! Spent hour just walking around this hidden gem! Mekka for Instagram worth pictures!
Really neat spot in Walthamstow. Came up here because the neon installations and curation in the space seemed fascinating; it was even better than expected. The informational plaques in the space also gave us a better sense for why this is here and who's behind it (I won't give any spoilers).
What's even better (and was unexpected) is that there are also great breweries and food options around. Worth the trip to visit this slice of Walthamstow. Go check it out!
Awesome place! Loved it. A bit of a walk from the underground station but easy enough to get to!
Very interesting gallery, showcasing a variety of neon lights, from strip-trase to holy subject. Some old-fashioned bar games and toys are featured too. Maybe slightly overcrowded on a Saturday. There's a nice café too and plenty of craft beer pubs to choose from next door.
Amazing... little bit hard to find but great scenery places to park and food and drinks available to buy great place for lunch
Neon warehouse full of refurbished, restored and repurposed neon signs, all for sale or hire. Has a café inside selling snacks, hot drinks and bottled beers. Free entry, though you'll have to fight your way past hipsters taking selfies.
Great place to visit and I was particularly impressed with the quality of the food in the café dud to the friendly service. The neon lights are amazing and I'm not sure where else you could see such sights... amazing!
Obviously an Instagrammer’s Dream, this is certainly one to add to a bucket list.
Amazing array of neon signs and curios. Cafe was lovely with an excellent home made lemon drizzle really hitting the spot. Beers from local craft brewery that literally over the road.
Lovely little ‘garden’ out back. Deffo worth a visit.
Love this place and it's café. It's not close to the Walthamstow Central Tube station, so it's worth having a cup of tea/coffee inside and enjoy the neon lights. They've got books, magazines and travel guides that you can borrow and nobody will ask you to leave the table after finishing your drink/food, so it's a great Sunday afternoon plan.
I have a pleasure to live almost next door to this amazing and unusual place. Great for just a coffee during the day and even better for drinks and some music in the evening. Always busy with a modern and trendy crowd. A mecca for selfie addicts lol
Love this place. Could spend ages in here noticing different things. The cake is dam good too!
I love this place, it's neon heaven and had great food and drink outlets as it's neighbours. Well worth a visit if you like typography, neon or vintage curios. Take your credit card, many are for sale
Unique and brightly lit with the fantastic neon lighting and signature display and the classic cafe ( delicious fresh bakery stuffs) bringing back to memory of nostalgic good times !
Love this place, its a must see, just go! Umpteenth visit this time for MacMillan Coffee Morning, so many gorgeous cakes spoilt for choice.
Never been anywhere quite like it before...really interesting and the atmosphere was so "buzzy" even though we're in the middle of this covid disaster ( which BTW was taken into consideration, hand sanitizing and a list for track and trace, also face covering was encouraged) would recommend God's own junkyard to anyone who fancied a bit of something different to do one afternoon.
Very cool spot, nothing else like it anywhere near.
The place is super nice and the ambient is amazing I didn't give 5 star because they don't have a lot of choice of drinks expecially beers and the people working in there are not so smiling
It's so unique and immensely bright 😂 as you would imagine, but it's a lovely hide away spot and all the neon signs were awesome to look at.
The best place in Walthamstow and possibly the whole of London. If you are feeling in anyway unhappy or miserable then a visit to this place will cheer you up immediately.
It is so bright and colourful that it's like walking into Christmas.
There is so much to look at that multiple visits will be needed to take it all in.
Fun place to hang out, grab a coffee, drink, or cake, and chat with friends. Lots to see as well, the collection of signs and lights is properly eclectic. It does bring out fun memories of travels to big cities with night life and night lights.
Amazing place and one of only a few world-wide that's a collection of Neon signs. They sell and fabricate custom designs as well. We'll worth a visit
Glad we visited, fun and an infuencers dream for cool photo opportunities. Had a drink and nachos to share, all good.
Professional cameras are not allowed to be used inside unfortunately but you are allowed to take pictures on your phone.
They also have a small cute cafe inside at the back of Gods Own Junkyard called The Rolling Scones.
Ever article I’ve read about this place states it’s a hidden gem and so couldn’t agree more. Brilliant. Cool place to have a drink.
Amazing place.
Awesome selection of great artistic pieces and also a great cafe.
Surrounded by a by other entrepreneurs in neighbouring units....gin makers, beer and cider brewers....great day out!
This place has some amazing things to see and you can get a beer there! Good way to spend a few hours.
Great experience for a celebration brunch with the kids. That place is fantastic and vibrant with lights and colours and excellent music. The food is good but the staff was just average and quite cold and bored on a busy Sunday lunch. When I called, I was told we couldn’t book for 11am as it was their opening time and staff needed to get everything ready before they could serve food so was told to book for 12pm which was also fine. But I was surprised to see people finishing to eat when we arrived and many tables busy. Not ideal with small kids so I was glad mine were older and able to enjoy lunch in peace !
Cool lil cafe that has food and drinks (alcoholic too!) that's full of neon and other cool signs. Definitely recommend. Also it's very Instagramable if that's something you're into.
An amazing place which will excite your senses. Neon lights everywhere and it is a selfie paradise!! Check out their website for opening times as they arent open every day. Mobile photos are allowed but not DSLR cameras.

One of the most happy and uplifting places in the whole of London. Absolutely amazing, I cannot recommend it highly enough. There's something about the glow of the neon which makes it impossible to be unhappy in here. Go on a Saturday and you can also have a drink at the 2 breweries across + gin bar/distillery next door.
Really interesting curious place to visit. The owner is willing to share the story of the place and personal experience
I don't really know what this is; something between a neon sign exhibition and an Americana style coffee shop. But it was a fun place to visit, and lots of vintage signs.
Tucked away in a corner in Walthamstow, this once little-known gem has become a fairly popular local attraction. It deserves it! It's beautiful and even pictures don't capture how lovely it is, with neon artwork that's featured in a variety of pretty notable films and features. Is unsurprisingly very Instagrammable, so some people dress up to go...
The cafe food isn't spectacular, just standard, but the service is friendly.
What a great place to visit, quirky and an explosion of colour with food too and a loo in a Tardis.
Waited a long time to come and visit, and today I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Small but an amazing place. Crammed with so many cool, fun neon signs, floor to ceiling in fact and with lots of vintage items incorporated to make the whole place look and feel very cool. You really don’t know where to look first. Walked round a couple of times just to make sure we hadn’t missed anything. Neat little cafe tucked away in the corner selling savouries, cakes, (cakes were delicious by the way) hot and cold drinks and alcohol too. Could of sat for ages taking in the surroundings. Wished I lived nearer, definitely a place I’d like to come back too again and again. P.S.....Ace back ground music too, took me right back to my teen age years! I had a great time in an amazing place.
It is a wonderful experience with all the lights and sign boards. I just don't get what's up with no cameras.. I don't understand why.. when we can use our mobile to take photos.. but not a mirrorless or DSLR? I would understand if it was no flashlight.
Quirky place, friendly staff and clean toilets.
Sadly the artisan beer was a bit meh, but overall a great experience.
Crazy, amazing, out from ordinary days❤
Went here on my last day in London because the pictures looked really cool but the atmosphere in person is incredible. We had a walnut coffee cake and it was amazing.
This place is amazing, such a good vibe and cocktails are an added bonus!
I love this place, I could spend hours looking at all those amazing artworks!
Really cool vibes ! Great for pictures! No cameras allowed phones only!
This place must be seen. The idea to collect lots of neon lights and place them in the cafe may seem simple, but the result is great. You just cannot stop taking photos of every corner. They did not have hot meals when I went, so cannot say anything about food. but I had a plum crumble cake which was alright. The only thing that would need to be improved is the toilet.
Amazing place to visit so much cool stuff in one place 10/10 👌
Really nice place, smaller than expected but still really cool weekend find. Would suggest to owners to possibly have a gift shop as would have loved to have bought a little god own junkyard fridge magnet or something to take back home but otherwise quite cool and took some funky photos
Fabulous magical place ..so bright and extraordinary. ...great location too as so many interesting places adjacent in tne yard ..thoroughly recommended. ..
Tucked away off the beaten track in Walthamstow, this Romeo + Juliet fever dream is an amazing place to visit. Lots of bright and loud neon lights and the inevitable influencers they draw make it a place to see and be seen to have been. On Insta, of course.
Great brewery and gin distillery on the same site to make the pilgrimage worth while.
Such a cool place and they have a little cafe and bar. Love it!
Outstanding location. Amazing place with the most neon lights I have ever seen at one place. Beverages and food available.
A really fun find in Walthamstow. So interesting to just mooch round!.
Awesome display of neon lights and all kinds of knick knacks. There's also a cafe with nice food and drinks. Recommend to pay a visit if you're in the neighborhood.
The neon extravaganza itself is very cool but the cafe is very overpriced for what you get.
The lady who served us was rude from beginning to end, no manners whatsoever. Threw a menu at us, never made eye contact, barely any speaking. This is in the middle of the pandemic when you'd imagine businesses would be pleased to have customers.
The other, younger, staff seemed much more pleasant to be fair.
It's such a shame, they could really make something wonderful here.
Will recommend a look around certainly but highly advise against the cafe
10 mins walk from the station. Surrounded by nice food stalls and breweries. GOJ is free to enter. Open till 6 and is a feast for the senses, and obviously a lot of people’s instagrams
It is one of the hidden gems of London. A place with amazing collection of interiors with neon lights for display.
Amazing place! Outside seating was filthy, but other than that, amazing!
Light porn!! This place feels like a walk through Las Vegas, perfect for nostalgics of the good old times and neon lights lovers. It was smaller than I thought, but you keep spotting new signs on every walk around.
I love this place. I want eveything in it. Nice cafe which is nice to sit in and look at these beautiful pieces.
The little Cafe is decent but really, let's be honest - you're stopping here to take lots of photos and it's definitely worth the trip in that regard.
Free entry, bright lights, next to a brewery. It’s great.
Great light show everything's for sale. It has a bar!. Nice coffee and cake. Fantasy vibe.
Please don't forget to like or give feedback thanks. Drew
Truly amazing place, I went in not knowing the place and was blown away by the neon heaven. Freindly staff, great food and a great space.
Really nice and extraordinary place. Highly recommend.
Loved it! so many colors and lights !! it's really worth the trip and the cakes at the cafe are delicious
it is literally a junkyard! good atmosphere, friendly staff. other bars and food stalls in the place. food and drinks, and they have a beer garden. worth a visit!
You have to pay £200 per hour to take professional photos on a camera, which I fully support, because there are no other place in London and possible in the world with such collection of neon light, and this is a great stage for various photo sessions.
On the other hand, you are free to take pictures on your phone.
Owner kindly gives permission for students to take professional pictures, you have to come Fri-Sun from 11AM to 12AM, you also have to present your student card.
My sister wanted to make some photos for her college homework, we came out of those time slots, but the owner kindly gave us the permission to do that.
This is the must visit place in London. Thank you!
I think this is more of a quirky pub than an art gallery. It's free to enter, but they have a small cafe and sell bottled and canned beer and wine. The 500ml cans of "God's Own Junkyard" branded beer are £5 each (nothing on draught). There are several benches scattered through the neon lights, a larger area with tables, and a beer garden in the back. The neon lights are amazing, vibrant and fun to see. If the beer was a bit cheaper I would have stayed longer, but I suppose their electric bill is massive!
I would definitely visit again.
Amazing display
Hidden gem in North East London, lovely walk from the station. This places has a lovely café/burger bar.
Easy to find, parking just in front in marked spaces, incredible display, the more uou look, the more you see. Even recognises some iconic pieces.
Amazing place to go around and discover new things. They have nice coffee and cakes. Recommended!!!!
Nice little gallery with a cafe, something different for day out
A fun time looking around and learning the history of the place.
Lovely little pace and very quirky. Great for Instagram posts 😉
Fascinating place, with a pricey cafe but to be expected! Great afternoon out, they can get a little funny about cameras and it can easily be crowded! Not really a place for kids to play about in
Unique spot enjoyed by all types of people good to take photos
An assault on the eyes in the best possible way. Good beer and tunes
What an amazing place and a great cafe as well.
Extremely cool place to visit and have a drink!
Loved our look around this tiny but amazing collection. Made me smile (behind my mask!) Like nothing I've seen before.
Absolutely beautiful! It's been coming up as a place to visit in London for the last year and I've been ignoring it because I honestly thought it was so small and so far away it wouldn't be worth the trip- but I was definitely wrong!
This was such an amazing place, full of colour, lights and great music! I fell in love instantly and am already planning a trip there next weekend!!
Awesome place to chill and have a drink, street food stall located outside.
One of my favourite places in London. It's so cool and different to anything else around. It a great place for photos.
It's a bit far out by definitely worth it.
The cafe is nice and affordable as well.
Great exhibition & café... well worth a visit if you are in the area...
It's definitely tucked away in a location that can easily be missed but it makes up for it's undetectability with it's amazing view! Not to mention the pieces are for sale!! Every picture taken here comes out wonderful, however, that does often mean that the place is usually almost always crowded. There's also a lovely outdoor area fitted with wooden seats and a tiny cafe tucked away.
Very cool place, unlike anywhere else really... So much Neon! They have a small cafe inside that seems nice. Also just outside you have plenty of places to have a drink, as well as a street food stall. Definitely a nice place to spend a summer evening!
Amazing collection of signage! Lovely little cafe in a free museum, well worth a visit! Even better, there are a couple of craft brewery tap rooms in the opposite units, I'll be back to this area again in summer to hang out for sure!
Amazing place. Unique. Frankly the bar could sell tins of beer and microwave food and it would still be worth coming.
Awesome place, loved it! Recommend to stay in the cafe and absorb the atmosphere. Friendly staff there, too.
Fantastic gem where you can have a drink!
Nice for a few pics , getting a postcard and drinks not much else todo than to chill ..staff are sound
INCREDIBLE place! So cool
Amazing Neon signage. Great place for photography
Amazing little place in a location you wouldn't expect to find such a cool spot
Quite a small place but filled with so much neon. Definitely one for the Instagram crowd.
Fun place to look about I wish it was bigger. There's really cool stuff there.
What can I say? Crazy, neon must see place where you least expect it. A kind of museum to 60s and 70s sleeve and alt culture. The items are in demand for period TV and film. Cafe attracts colourful clientele and has a friendly atmosphere. The whole estate is worth a visit, with breweries, gin palace, bars (and a garage).
Small but it packs a lot in. Unlike anything else I've experienced. Cafe and bar on site with nice cake!
Summer 2020 on Sunday afternoon, Its a must do experience! London baby
Pretty cool place but all the neon lights gave me a stroke when I blinked.
Definitely worth a visit. So fun and unique!
It's beautiful, great place to have fun, kinda confused why we could take pictures with our phones and not with a DSLR, I mean whats the difference, it's not like we were going to do a 30 minute photoshoot on 1 sofa.
Vintage and retro neon signs and decorative curiosities. Has a bar/ cafe inside and two breweries opposite.
This place is absolutely amazing! All the lights and neon signs will have you staring for ages constantly finding new cool things. It sucks that they don't allow DSLR photography as I think you could get some really incredible shots in there but at least you're allowed your phone
This has one of the best collections of neon signs in the country. The place itself is quite small, and is a long Tube journey, but it is well worth it. You don't expect to find yourself spending so long there, but I would spend 1 - 2 hours. There is a cafe there, with reasonably priced drinks and food. The displays are changed around every so often, and every wall is different. Sadly, the only reason why I didn't give this place five stars was because you can't use cameras here, just mobile phones. This is clearly stated outside the building, however it isn't mentioned anywhere on the website, although if you are a photography student in the area, and you apply for permission, you can take photos.
What a place! Neon everywhere (that being their basic business) and a Cafe with homemade cakes, coffee, and bottled beer. The garden is an amazing place when the weather is fine.
An eccentric and magical place full of people who either appreciate eccentricity or dress eccentrically... Love it And always take our visitors to catch the experience...
This place is amazing & the staff & the owner are so friendly will recommend this place to all my friends & family 👍👍
Very pretty, definitely worth a visit!
Feast for eyes and ears. Plenty to look at, great music and they serve food and drinks. Only downside is it being a little bit of a trek to get to.
Amazing place, definitely worth the visit
Great place. So bright with all the vintage and modern neon lights. It's for all ages. The cafe' there is is wonderful . They serve a variety of hot and cold foods, including alcohol. Nearest station is Walthamstow station and a 10 minute walk. There are bus routes that stop a minutes walk from venue.
Very interesting place that showcases old and new neon signs!
Must visit. Underrated place. Instagramable location
A unique experience. Café a bit tired but bags of atmosphere and the hot chocolate and cake was fine.
Not the easiest of places to find but it is an intriguing place, quite small with a lot of neon signs. There seems to be a lot from Soho! You can't use your camera but you can use your phone to take photos. Tried to get a coffee but it was very busy and I couldn't get a seat.
Go. Go and be astounded. And then go and have a drink and a lovely piece of cake. And revel in the luminosity. Superb.
Very fun to visit, slightly smaller that expected and there were a lot of kids (it's not really family friendly!)
Excellent place good people great beer and food
Small place. Super nice coffee and a must see... The lights makes the place really special
Fun!
My girlfriend and I went here the other day and it was absolutely phenomenal. We had a lovely time looking at all the lights and beautiful artifacts. It was unbelievably colorful in there and I highly recommend it for anyone. If you can be your own source of entertainment, definitely go. They play music, offer a variety of pastries, coffee, and tea; but other than that, it's really just you and whoever you are with that you're going to get the most out of it
Amazing place. Well worth a visit
Great place to have a drink with friends , specially the garden
WOW!! That's the only way to describe this exhibition.
An Aladdin's cave, crammed full of spectacular neon signs and all sorts of cool 1960/1970's memorabilia.
Like the largest and coolest Man Cave in the world, and at the same time a trip down memory lane of SoHo of decades ago.
I just kept wandering around again and again, constantly spotting new details, and absorbing the atmosphere.
Well worth visiting.
And they have the most spectacular Nativity ever!
Cool lights, bar bit pricey but nice beers
Great place to visit - some really interesting and fun pieces and great for all your Insta hun posing needs too.
The cafe had some great cakes which were super tasty - not the cheapest but then again the junkyard itself is free to enter so it all balances out.
It's free to pop in, have a look around, take pictures and chill which is more than enough if you want to go somewhere a bit funky and bright. The objects are quite interesting once you have a read of what it says and there's a bar/cafe section area too.
Absolutely stunning place to visit. Art gallery, coffee shop, cafe, house of neon. Sensory overload and place to appreciate some great artistic and historic signage. Place has parking and is surrounded by a gin palace, real ale bar and craft brewery. Coffee and cake is really good.
Great place for photos! but only phone photos, not camera.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area as it is completely free and has a lovely little quirky cafe.
Very cool place to take your new profile picture or to post on Instagram💁🏻♀️ we had great fun there
What a fun place! They made the neon signs in many movies including the Kubrick film Eyes Wide Shut
Awesome interior...great experience. Quirky cafe spills out onto an outside small courtyard. Five stars not given as strange drain smell (which was off-putting) and the long wait to order. Food was basic cafe food and not cheap.
Amazing place to visit and get inspired from!
Amazing place. Amazing food. Really gorgeous. Bit out of the way but highly recommend.
When you come here tell them Harry Bloomfield sent you for 10% off drinks. Such a great place to come. Staff are so friendly and make great cocktails
Great place! So many amazing neon signs. Parking not far from the place. Great food menu both normal and vegan. Would recommend!
Hidden gem in Walthamstow. I went here pre covid. Had a nice time here. We had beer outside the shop. :)
Mind-blowing every visit, total neon overload for the eyes. Amazing eclectic collection of neon lights and ephemera spanning decades. Always something new to notice.
Fantastic hoot of a place. You MUST go and enjoy. Visually outrageous humour. Haven't tried the drink or food but the courtyard cafe at the back looks great too. Around are two fab breweries and a gin palace. What's not to like? The perfect counterpoint to Walthamstow Village's green leafy lanes. What an afternoon out!
It’s a very unique place. I would say a must see if you are in Walthamstow area. Usually it gets busy on the weekends so you might not find a place to sit, but it’s still a cool place to go and have a walk around. They have a little garden as well so you can cool down after a hot summer day.
This is one of the coolest places I've ever been. I loved the colours and this peculiar atmosphere. Obviously you are taking photos non-stop, but take your time and just sit down and enjoy taking it all in. There's also a café. Hppe to come back soon.
It's small, but don't let that fool you. There's still plenty to see, and a really cool vibe to the place. Signs hidden in every nook and cranny with really friendly staff. Would heavily recommend. Just bear in mind you can't take a professional camera in with you, camera phones only
Totally blown away by the eye-popping neon signs and art installations! It’s a shame that it’s not very clear that there’s also a cafe within the space. This should be promoted more, so that the public knows that this is not a gallery space but rather a place that they can visit regularly.
Really nice gallery/shop, great for pictures. They don't allow you to take pictures with cameras, only with your mobile phone (at least up to today, 6th of May). As they're a bit "far", it's great that they also have a café inside. The weather was nice and they also have an outside area, which is great.
Love this place, so unique! And surrounded by some great independent breweries
Really cool installation with a lovely café, great cocktails!
Such beautiful neon light pieces all over the place portraying different form of art. A very happy and jolly atmosphere. You could take a lot of beautiful and unique pictures if that is your interest. Carrot cake is a must try. Not a lot of variety in the menu. It's mostly snacky type. The only disadvantage is that it opens only on weekends in the evening. Rest was all amazing.
Really loved this place there is old neon signs everywhere, remembering when London was a lot brighter and less corporate. There is a cafe where you can sit and drink amongst the lights and purchase the signs if you have the dough! The only reason that it does not get 5 stars is that they only allow phone cameras. Whilst I understand that the owner does not want his work being used commercially, my pictures (I am an amateur photographer) would have looked stunning with my full camera. Either way, I would highly recommend you stop off here if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed!
The place is stunning, but lot smaller than I thought and just full of teenagers taking selfies having £8 vegan beans on toast. Not worth it if super far from you!
It's a bit tacky but also somewhere you should go
One of Walthamstow gems. The place is simply Stunning. As soon as you get in you can see all the neon lights hanging from the ceiling and on the walls and I assure you you will want to take your phone out and take pictures to show to your contacts. Definitely worth the visit. Also you can get coffee and cake in the shop. Don't forget to visit their garden too.
Worth a visit along and when you think you've seen it all, another thing pops out at you. Brilliant!
Really cool place with the breweries around, but we could not go in when we visited as there was a private function on which was not advertised anywhere!
We ended up having a few drinks from Mother's Ruin, the gin distillery in the estate. The drinks were so good we ended up buying a bottle to take home! If your going to the junkyard, don't drive
Really good apple pie with custard, the scones were just amazing but the coffee could be better. The place has an amazing environment and your Instagram will be filled with new pictures. Definitely worth a visit there!
If I was a place I would be here! Bright, colourful, kitschy and a bit garish. I just thought it would be a lot bigger than it is
It's a beautiful space with A LOT of beautiful light displays in many combinations. The cafe is really really beautiful, has a great vibe and an amazing selection of cakes!
However, the place is not that big, the corridors are small and that means that if there are more than 10 people there, you will probably have to queue or be blacked from spaces until people finish their selfie session or unofficial photo shoot. Also, there is a ban on SLR cameras but not on smartphones. Which to me is unreasonable, unjustified and annoying. You might be able to sneak in a few shots with an SLR, some people did, while I was asked to put my camera away.
Smaller than expected but packed full of really cool stuff so can spend a while in there. Its next to a couple of really nice little brewerys and bars with outside seating, so would definitely recommend a visit in the summer.
A legendary place, highly recommend and, obviously, highly "instagrammable"
This place is full of memories from a bygone age and worth a visit, a visual feast of neon lights.
Really cool place, definitely worth a visit
Nice gallery with indoor and outdoor seating. Great place for photos.
Great fun. Loads of neon lights for sale, makes a brilliant display. There's also a cafe. It's on a small industrial estate. Not salubrious but still good. Other units contain craft breweries with bars and bench style seating. One has a games room. There's even a gin distillery. Well worth a visit. Easy to park, but get someone else to drive - I don't think there is a nearby railway station.
Coolest place in London, super amazing vibes. Very insta worthy. The area is little shady and the cafe is inside a channel gate which may seem difficult to find at once.
An absolute must-visit for those who have a bit of time in London. Only a short walk from Walthamstow Central Station, there’s an absolute plethora of things to find in here.
Easily one of the most Instagrammable places around, you should take time to explore and spot as many neons as you can find.
The café inside is pretty decent too, it really encourages visitors to stay and dwell. The food and drink items are fairly priced and staff are quick with orders.
Has to be seen to be believed. A truly great, unique place to visit.
One of the coolest, quirkiest an most unique places in London. Nice staff and obs amazing photos to be taken (cell phone camera only) Reminds me of the lanes in Brighton.
Amazing place to visit while in London. Really friendly staff went out of their way to acommodate What we wanted. I went on friday evening and We wanted a particular cocktail that was not on the menu and they made it for us. The best cheescake as well.
Really interesting place. Lovely little garden at the back to sit in for a drink.
Nice to see and take pictures. They have a cafe so you can chill and eat. Last time I went one of the staff explained how neon lights work which was pretty cool.
this place is pure art
Really cool place to come to and hangout. Friendly environment and staff. Good food and drink.
Do note that it could be overwhelming for some due to bright lights, crowds, etc.
It's wooooonderful!!!,There's also a little quirky cafè inside
Trendy...creative...cool place to hang out
An interesting spot to visit if you’re in the area which is free to enter and walk around to enjoy the neon signs and unusual clutter.
They have a small gift shop where you can buy t-shirts and postcards and the like. There is also a cafe/restaurant, which I assume is the raison d’être of the establishment, which offers all day breakfast and general diner type food. It seemed a tad pricey, so my wife and I chose not to eat there.
Possibly the most unique and coolest place you can go to in the whole of London! The amount of 'junk' and neon art never stops to amaze me. I'd recommend everyone to come here even if it's not in Zone 1; and if you have the time + the weather is good, grab some coffee and cake (or whatever is on display) and sit outside in the small garden.
Cool and unique space, great for photos! Would love a bit of information on the signage and styles.
Not as large as I thought it would be, and not particularly COVID friendly.
Absolutely stunning place, a neon heaven. You could get completely lost in the history of the signs and props, and always find something new and quirky every time you visit. Plus, great coffee, cake, and beer. One of my favourites!
Its a little bit of a trek to get to compared to other London destinations, however, its worth it and you get to explore an area which ordinarily you might not have. Its in Walthamstow and you can take a scenic route thropugh the village which doesn't feel like you are in London at all or go via the side streets. Either way, your destination is on an insustrial estate and is a shining light so you can't miss it. When you get there, its full to the brim with people taking photos, as the neon lights and other interior furnishings provide an excellent backdrop. If you can , go see for yourself, there is a coffee shop within to relax after all the selfies too!
This place is magic and manic, and it works! You'll have trouble finding anywhere else in the world. What makes it magic is the casual vibe of spending a chill afternoon w friends surrounded by neon. So while I wouldn't make a special trip out, if you're in the neighborhood, it's worthy of a few hours of your time.
You just have to go here. Fascinating and proper British eccentricity at it's best
What fun!! Delicious food too...
What can I say about this place apart from it's very leftfield and quirky, and could possible be a neon lovers dream. They also make good coffee if your eyes need a rest from all those neon signs.
Vibrant neon lights everywhere! A true hidden gem. There's an excellent place to sit down and drink/have a snack around the back of the room.
You're not allowed to use your camera to take pictures (only smartphone cameras are allowed) which is a shame but totally understandable!
Cool vibe, nice music that adds to the funky atmosphere. Not very big so don't expect to take ages to look around, although there are a lot of cool things in that small space and it's definitely interesting to see; Also a sweet spot to grab a drink or coffee in a more unusual setting.
A fabulous collection of neon lights
Eclectic collection of weird and wonderful illuminations with a superb little cafe hidden at the back.
Don't miss this hidden gem when you are in London. The outside of this place looked so normal but once you go inside you will be amazed.
A great place to visit for a Sunday morning. It has a very nice cafe in the place do you can sit amongst all the neon signs. The neon was absolutely stunning and would recommend 10/10.
Amazing place. Free to get in. Coffee and cake are good, so well worth buying and soaking up the atmosphere for a while. Toilets are decent too!
And now for something completely different. What a fun time for your eyeballs, looking at all this neon. Don't know why, but I expected the Fonz to walk in at any time. Coffee and home made cake settled my stomach, so what's not to like. Show off to your friends and bring them here, somewhere truly unique.
Great place to hang out for a coffee and admire the neon.
Great place to visit, very different from a lot of the typical tourist spots in London. Hidden gem! Really nice cafe and great cocktails at a decent price!
Really cool neons and other anitique-y things to see, cafe is good too. Sofas or tables and chairs to sit at while you enjoy your coffee and pastry (they do hot food too). Also there's a good and varied playlist (matches era) on the speakers thought the building.
Amazing quirky place. Def worth going out of ur way for. It is filled with modern signs and sarcastic art. Good representation of the uniqueness u can find in London. Also has a terrace and a cafe restaurant. Good place to explore and rest. It is quite small but worth it
Amazing!! Amazing!! I can say it a thousand times and it still will not be enough but there amazing!! Londoners you need to support places like this.. You can really feel that this is all in the heart of the artist no corporate jackasses behind this, thank you very much.. So personal!! Thank you Chris for letting us into your home!!
Fantastic space! Any Neon sign you could imagine is here. Staff are always willing to help, good drinks selection, and beers available from the two micro brewery’s across the car park from their warehouse.
Worth the detour out of London if you are looking for something a bit more eccentric than the main tourist route. Also has a nice cafe area to grab a drink and relax.
If you are going after 6p on Friday / Saturday, you may want to phone ahead to verify that it is not closed for a private event.
Just incredible
If you are anywhere near this then you have to pop in. It is a neon feast for the eyes and it's almost impossible to take a bad picture in there.
super cool place. it´s never overcrowded due to it´s remote location. the cafe options are not cheap but suuuuper delicious. the head of this thing - an olderly guy is always looking that everything is in place and shape while whisteling some melody - what a cute place to be on your own somewhere far away from the city.
Super cool, and they have a nice craft beer selection. What makes this place even better, is that it is situated next door to Wild Card Brewery, who open up a tap room. Perfect Sunday afternoon.
An absolutely astounding place that has to be seen to be believed. It is quite simply where neon signs go when they retire. Some are created for art, many are originals created for business, all art amazing and photography heaven. There is a bar inside, so you can drink as you soak up the intensely surreal atmosphere. This is worth every second of the journey to Walthamstow - a must see.
It's a super-kool place, very hipster compatible, except no craft beer visible. Still with two craft breweries and a gin distillery next to it, you could spend a happy afternoon there.
I'd say prices a bit toppy. - £14 for 2 drinks, small scone and decent piece of chocolate cake. - £11 would be more acceptable if I was to be regular.
It's definitely worth a trip even without using the café.
Note the opening hours!!!☺️
A wonderful exhibition for neon light lovers and to chill at the in/outdoor cafe. Very cool.
I love neon lights and take any opportunity to go and gander at the signs as well as relax with a drink (and possibly a slice of cake) in the garden.
This is a great venue to relax with friends or avoid awkward silences if you're on a first date. There's plenty to talk about and there's always something new to notice while you walk around the space
Magic is the word I would use to describe this place. The work of art is incredible and beautiful. The guys working there are always happy to help and share some good stories, the bar and beer garden are a nice addition too.
Amazing place. On the outside you would think it's a small establishment. You get a pleasant surprise. Alot if neon signs. There is also a cafe inside.didn't stop so not sure what the food and drinks are like though.
Instagrammers dream come true. I loved taking photos here and wish I’d had my good camera with me. Recommend going on a weekday so it’s a bit quieter and you can nab all the best photo ops.
Very cool place. There are many varieties of neon lights everywhere you look, that can also be hired for events or hire the place out yourself for an event, they have a cafe onsite with nice couches to relax on as a bonus. If in walthamstow definitely a place to check out.
Great place to chill. The decoration is amazing and the owner is a great person.
Incredible shop and cafe located in an industrial estate. Features hundreds of mashup vintage signs and feels like a contemporary art exhibition. Probably out of budget for most people but worth the visit just for the photos. Instagram heaven!
What a lovely place to visit. So many great signs and lights to look at. Well worth a visit. Very quirky and you can take some brilliant photos here
An interesting assortment of lights and a nice little cafe to go to if you are looking for something unusual to do off the beaten track. The brewery opposite and the gin place nearby are great too.
Amazing place with a great buzz, but the lights, crowds and loud music was sensory overload for this family so we didn't stick around to eat. Be great to know if they have quieter times without the music on.
Gods Own Junkyard is an incredible gem of a place, it is small quirky and worth a visit, I went to a brewery round the corner with a friend and we stumbled upon this while trying to find the brewery and we ended up spending a fortune on some amazing artwork and drinks. I highly recommend visiting.
Visit the place to see the innovation there which makes it so much more fun!!
The place looks awesome, the people were lovely and the food was amazing
It was beautiful but full of Instagram influencers
Take your phone, great pics to be had.
Amazing place, a total must-see of London
Its totally crazy place, I'll back
Nice experience 😍 heaven for your eyes.
The sound of neon signs lures you! There are cafes and bars around, great place.
Nice collection of neons and bright lights. This place has developed over the last few years into more of a destination with a cafe and bar area added. Nice place to spend half an hour
So shiny 🤩 Nice staff and lovely little cafe serving an impressive range of drinks
It's mad it's a great place to go.allso It's free how good is that, go when it's not busy just after 11 on a Sunday morning
A delight in signage and neon art for all the family
Amazing little find. Fun, exciting, has beer - what else does one need on your friday night. Totally worth the little wonder around to find it.
Excellent place to take your out of town friends to. Not your usual tourist spot.
An amazingly stunning place, great cakes and cocktails. A cool atmosphere to chill out at the end of the week!
Nice funky cafe. With nice outside seating when weather is good. Nice food too and not too expensive. Great for a visit when you wanna go somewhere different. Love all the neon signs.
alot smaller than I thought it would be, but still a great place to get lost for an hour or two. very interesting pieces that will definitely garner a few smiles and laughs. highly recommended that you pay a visit.
Original, fun and a bit crazy
God's Own Junkyard is a lovely little artistic collection of neon signs of all shapes and sizes. Small cafe at the back with reasonable pricing. Thoroughly enjoyed, perfect for large groups, dates or singletons. It's in an obscure location a little out of the way, be sure to check directions.
I always find a new neon creation to look at in this wonderfully quirky free exhibition of lights. And the cafe serves a lovely cream tea and other delights. Well worth a visit.
Really cool place with lovely cakes!
Fun little surprise. Quirky lights and a great experience. Also stopped at a food truck outside as they were so busy inside! Totally recommend to anyone who likes oddities.
One of the coolest places I've been too .
Lovely cafe there that made for a great visit. Highlight of my visit to London really. So beautiful and mesmeriIng. Also close to a neat brewery so might as well stop by there for a pint as well!
Instagrammable dream! Such a cool place to visit and has a really nice cafe and garden
Amazing, stunning, worth a trip, gorgeous and unique art pieces and free for a quick nose. But get a coffee and cake inside and maybe a craft beer next door!
Definitely worth a visit though you won't spend that long here. Lots of neon signs to look at and when you are done looking around and taking photos you can crab a craft beer, coffee or snack at the cafe to support them.
I absolutely love this place and everything about it. All the neon signs are simply impressive and the fact that you can just sit down and have a drink or something to eat makes it even better.
Fantastic, something different and good for families. My 8 months son was amazed
Definitely a unique experience, a good selection of beer and coffee on hand, and even more of the former at the craft brewers across the court yard
Awesome place but very narrow area to walk and the first time we went the area was closed and they only let you know when they are open on their Facebook page last minute ugh! We made a long trip for nothing
This place is better then church. Creator is a saint man! When I was here I had ready to cry of happy and atmosphere that place. Creator always here don't miss opportunity have conversation with him. Hi's a wonderful man...
Very weird, but for that reason you have to see it. Also cocktails were really good.
So colorful and lighting, very unique atmosphere
Mesmerising place, amazing rooms, amazing food!
Really nice place with surprisingly cheap coffee and cakes and huge collection of neons. I will definitely go back there...
Gods Own Junkyard is a neon sign lovers dream. The signs and signs and symbols range from religious paraphernalia, to celebrities and even sone that are sexual suggestive. Great for picture taking (polite warning DO NOT bring a DSLR camera)If you are in the area I definitely recommend stopping by.
Love this place. I don't think anyone could visit and not enjoy it. Vegas in the heart of Walthamstow 😍
Well hidden treasure, recommend popping in to explore for coffee and cake. No full cameras allowed, so make sure you’ve got space on your phone!
Love this place. Go .. and be sure to buy a drink or food... they dont charge u to enter so help them pay the electricity Bill when you visit and spend. Well worth it. Love neon
Really bizarre place for a coffee/cake or indeed a beer. If you are nearby do seek this place out its well worth a visit to view the myriad of signs scattered around.
It's quite an amazing place but it's a lot smaller than I expected. It gets quite crowded and food/drink is expensive. I still enjoyed my time here. I wouldn't spend more than 40mins in this place.
An emporium of neon. Advertising signs, film set artefacts and kitch galore. Absolutely baking hot on the evening we visited, with lights on from floor to ceiling and all across the floor and ceiling (though it was at the end of one of the hottest days of the year). Who would have thought that a block of industrial sheds (breweries, bars and street food type eateries opposite) could be so welcoming.
Truly unique. Hundreds of neon signs and artwork cover every inch of the walls. Very Instagram-able which could be seen as a good thing or a bad depending on your point of view.
Visitors of any age should be taken to Gods during their stay. Not like anywhere else it is. Wine beer is served from the old mahogany bar recovered during demolition of the plough. The bracey family have been in soho neon decades and recovered neon signs make it to the Yard if they are lucky. Regular visitor as it makes you feel good.
Kinda hidden with you go by public transport. But when you are in the place, LOVE super love so in LOVE with this place.
Really cool place, there's a cafe which serves drinks and snacks. The place has a cool atmosphere and awesome neon signs. Definitely worth visiting.
Really liked the decor but the location is not so secure and is secluded. Not a preferable place as per my interest goes.
Very cool place to see, not much else on offer in terms of food and drink. Worth a quick stop but go eat and drink at the places across the road.
Visited God's Own Junkyard last week. The place is amazing! Kinda small but such a cool destination to visit. It was nice that it had a cafe and seating available too.
Great. Quirky. V cool and great coffee and cakes!
An interesting place, lots to see in the warehouse. The cake in the cafe was very nice and not ridiculously expensive, plus the outside area at the back was nice to relax in. It can get very busy with people wandering in for a look.
I went here about a month ago and it's absolutely stunning.Great for instagram photos.I left my green bag there by accident and i only realised half way through the journey back home.I called them asking if they found it and fortunately they had!The staff are trustworthy and honest :)
A bit out of the way, but we loved it!
Here's something a little different: a unit on an industrial estate devoted to the art of the neon light. I guess you either love them (like me) or you are completely indifferent to them, and you'll already know which camp you're in. As an added bonus there's a cafe inside, so you can sit down with an espresso and a slice of lemon drizzle cake and relax in the glow of the neon.
Amazing, probably unique in Britain, collection of weird and wonderful lights, illuminated signs and objets d'art. Neon signs, fairground lights, histiric London Soho signs - they're all here, and many of them are for sale!
Though small, this place was wonderful to visit and includes a nice little bar for drinks and snacks. We came from out of town and this is one of the highlights of our trip!
Exceeded my expectations, such a hidden gem! Such an amazing experience and impressive that it is free to visit. Thought it might be difficult to find but once you get close enough it is clearly signposted.
Amazing place, guaranteed to brighten your day, we didn't use cafe but there is one if you want to linger for awile and take in the atmosphere
Really interesting place! Smaller but definately loads more to see than I expected. Food is a bit overpriced though but well worth the visit.
This place is very beautiful and would recommend just for the neon the food is okay quite expensive
If it was just a restaurant maybe 2 stars it’s not that it’s bad just pricey for mediocre food but the neon signs alone is such a fun and wonderful experience I would recommend for anyone
Great place, can't beat some well done neon.
Amazing place! Worth the trip
Great atmosphere with cafés, breweries and art gallery. Highly recommend!
Really impressive collection of neon pieces, has to be seen really! Nice cafe too, I haven't tried it in the evening yet. But will do.
Great fun to see. Lots of micro breweries and food at this location. Pick your times to visit carefully.
