Reviews of Kensington Palace
L. D. (.
What a lovely place! I visited Kensington Palace just before Valentine 2022 with my boyfriend. The place is very warm and cozy, we visited all the rooms that are opened for public. The King’s gallery is absolutely stunning with finest paintings of the Royal Collection. The King’s Staircase is so marvellous. Don’t forget to visit Jewel room where they display Queen Victoria’s magnificent diamond and emerald tiara, Kensington Palace Gardens, Kensington Garden where you can see so many swans and duck in such a peaceful and joyful view.
Reading about the love of Victoria and Albert in Kensington Palace also an unexpected fulfilment for our Valentine date 💗

A look back on the life and times of Queen Victoria and King George’s residency. Beautiful building. Lovely cafe and outside seating area. Also the Sunken gardens hold the new Diana statue.
C. P.
A lovely palace in 2 halves. One side had artefacts on show and the other seemed to have most of the original features of the rooms, such as the wallpaper, furniture, paintings and flooring. There were some really interesting things like Queen Victoria's actual hair and being able to be in the room where she was born.
But overall there wasn't a lot you were allowed to see in the palace and it only took an hour and a half to see the whole thing and that's because we stopped to read everything, I think you could do the tour faster. It would've been great to see a more modern aspect to the palace, such as where Princess Diana lived.

Lovely place to visit & learn about the history of this royal house, including the childhood of Queen Victoria.
Plenty of knowledgeable staff available.
Had to book tickets & time slot online, no entry available without tickets. Photography allowed but no flash or videos. Shop, refreshments and restrooms available.
C. N.
I went mental over the luxurious details, the rooms, the decorations, the classical objects and the history. Ask for the "modern tech" ( wind map for planning sailing of ships) and weather forecasting system, they are over 200 hundred years and amazingly accurate to this days.
P. C.
Lovely to see Princess Diana's wedding dress. The guides were so knowledgeable. Very interesting story about the moment Queen Victoria knew she was Queen of England. The guides made it come alive
E. H.
Absolutely brilliant place. So much to see and learn. Loved the Style in the Making exhibition and seeing up close Princess Diana’s wedding dress. I definately recommend visiting Kensington Palace and look forward to visiting again.
V. D.
Visited yesterday. Loved it. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable without being preachy. They are really happy to learn new things too. Loved having conversations with everyone all the way round and Loved learning new things.

If you like history of UK and love Royal family, you should visit this place. And if you like Prenses Diana you can see her wedding dress in there.
Normally, visit is expensive but you can member for all palace and you can visit all time. I recommend it.

I visited the Palace few years ago... today I visited for a coffee and a walk through the gardens... the addition of the statue gives gardens more beauty and value. Lovelly arcade with windows like spaces allows curiosity of the visitors to admire the flowers surrounding the pool and in the front the statue fitted like a crown.

2018 - Palace grounds are amazing. Lots of photo opportunities everywhere. There was a cafe in the lower levels for a coffee and snack. The gardens are amazing and worth checking out even if you do not pay to take any tour inside the palace.
J.
Really expensive for the money paid for entrance. Not much to be seen really. Wanted to see Diana's wedding dress to be told that exhibition had finished in January. Very disappointed
M. G.
Lots to see. You can take it at your own pace. The membership really makes it cost effective if you plan on visiting multiple royal residences.
R. T. S.
Yes, yes, yes, the palace is amazing, the Sunken Gardens with the new statue celebrating Princess Diana as well as the absolutely vital visit to “Royal Style in the Making” with Lady Di’s wedding dress — first time on view for 25 years — it’s only on display until 02 January 2022!
BUT — one of my favorite parts was enjoying champagne in the elegant Kensington Palace Pavilion! SKIP THE CAFE and head to the The Pavilion next to the Sunken Gardens — offers Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon tea!
Also, either before entering Kensington Palace or after your visit, give yourself time to enjoy the palace’s pond with stunning swans!
C. M.
Visit booked for 11am. Arrived at 10am so had a coffee in the excellent cafe and had a very pleasant mooch round the shop where the items were top quality and even some bargains.
The Palace rooms were very well presented. They told the history of the people in the Palace. Information was clear. Exhibits were sufficient to enjoy but not be overwhelmed. I especially liked the little figurines of the various major characters.
There's a short walk from the Palace to the Orangery. Stunning displays and again, well presented and distributed information about the wearers and designers.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We went there for my birthday so special for me.
It's beautiful. So much to see and do. We bought our tickets at the door.
There is a lovely just by the door.
Yummy.
We had an amazing experience.
S. T.
Absolutely loved going here! I wasn't so sure about doing Kensington during my trip to London but agreed as my friends wanted to go but it truly felt like taking a step into history. Beautiful palace with lovely gardens, definitely visit if you're a fan of Queen Victoria! I was slightly disappointed in the Royal Style in the Making exhibition at the end of the tour as I expected more than 3 dresses to be there, however, seeing Princess Diana's dress took my breath away.
E. L.
It's an amazing place to go and I love the garden there. The Cafe is very good aswell
K. K.
Lovely day out- lots to see + do- queues managed well+ plenty of hand sanitizer about, only gripe was when tickets booked online they had a problem with the site so told us to bring E.- mail confirmation. We queued up, then someone came along to check tickets + time- nothing said- then when we got to the front- we were sent to the booking office so having to queue again to have tickets printed out! Having said that we had a lovely day, Diana's Wedding dress was beautiful-had a lovely cream tea- (no cash only card in tea room) just to warn people as well. It's a lovely day out + good value- gardens + statue were beautiful also .
P.
Visited here today, mainly for the Dianas wedding dress display. Have to admit it was all very good, the kings apartments were just wow! The dress was amazing and queen Victoria’s rooms were brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit here today. Que was long to get through the bag checks but that was the worst part.
A. H.
When taking a leisurely stroll through Hyde Park make sure you swing by the sunken gardens of Kensington Palace to visit the new Princess Diana memorial statue. It’s free to visit the gardens so definitely something not to miss.
L. H.
Lovely grounds before you visit to explore. Queues well managed and doesn't feel crowded. Able to take pictures which is a nice change. Not many rooms open at the moment but Diana exhibition was lovely addition. Information guide book is worth the £4 to fill in gaps of knowledge. Recommended!
L. G.
The rooms were very empty and dinghy!! Not much to.look at at all. The exhibition of Diana's dress was disappointing in a way as I thought there would be more of her clothes and the bridesmaids dresses etc. A lit of money to get in . I sepnt longer in the Palace Gardens than I did the house and enjoyed that far more when I visited couple of years ago. There was nothing inside the Palace that I wanted to photograph and that's very unusual for me!! I only took pictures of Diana's dress. In and out in about 45 mins!!
E. H.
Wonderful walk in the park, coffe at Kensington Palace with a mooch round the souvenir shop, great end to our weekend in our Capital City.
T. W.
It was not something that I will remember fondly for a looong time. It was just ok, in my opinion. £19.50 per person (non-member). I only really liked the souvenir shop, though most things were too expensive to buy anyway. I only got a wooden ruler that shows all the names of the Rulers of England, for 2.5quids 😅
M. M.
I really enjoyed the couture exhibit and seeing Diana's wedding gown. It was really impressive to see in person and the staterooms upstairs were fun to tour. A little expensive but we enjoyed it.
E. M.
Such an interesting morning at Kensington Palace, we learnt such a lot about the Georgian era and young Victoria's life. Exhibition was the highlight to see Princess Diana's beautiful wedding dress.
B. H.
The staff is super nice. Really welcoming and very helpful. Its a lovely place to visit and the staff show a lot of respect and love for their job, they are very knowledgeable too! It is a beautiful place to visit with a lot of history. The garden is just as beautiful (even in early march when leaves were still missing on trees, the tulips and cherry blossoms were in full bloom). Definitely a relaxed and interesting visit.
P. P.
Pretty mellow as far as palaces go, but worth a visit if that's your bag, super nice staff
P.
Really enjoyed the visit and so much to see, well worth the entry fee. Take your time and learn about the history
S. A. B.
Spent a lovely afternoon in the gardens. You need to book in advance to access the house. Bookings are very popular especially to see princess diana wedding dress. I will be booking for that another time. Beautiful gardens that are well maintained. You are able to see the Diana statue but not get right up to as it is enclosed in a garden area. We were able to access the gift shop and ot stocks some beautiful gifts and treats. Good selection of beautiful tea pots to purchase . The restaurant was beautiful but we sat outside in the stunning courtyard. Shall definitely be visiting again soon.
J.
The Royal Style exhibit with Princess Diana's wedding dress was a wonderful ending to the tour of the Palace, a truly stunning collection. The Palace itself doesn't take too long to tour (about an hour and a half).
K. M.
Great viewing Kensington palace where Princess Diana used to live , I find the history very interesting
M. D.
Steeped in history and well presented via a planned self guide route. Queue early as the pre entry bag search can cause long hold ups. So much to see. No rush, take your time once you're in. Photos are OK everywhere but some need a flash as the older rooms are quite dark. Toys to Tapestry, are marvellous selection of artefacts to tell the story of life in the palace. The Dress exhibition is exterior to the main building and the path to it is very potholed. Beware. Visit the café and sunken gardens before you leave. Both are worth it for very different reasons. As previously posted, the guide book holds a wealth of information to support your visit.
W. N.
I can see why Princess Diana loved this place, tranquil, beautiful! We went to pay our respects and it was worth the walk.
The statue is located next to Kensington Palace, in the sunken Garden, walk round to the side and follow the signs. :)
H. K.
Wonderful views, superb walk,
Respectful Diana monument and enclosed garden.
Good seating and coffee & food serving areas.
No charge for visit to the gardens
s. c.
Amazing went to see the wedding dress of princess Diana . Went around museum and grounds .
R. H. P.
Amazing Flowery Green space with the Kensington palace where used to lived Lady Diana 👑 . It was lovely to visit ❤️ this place during this season of the year and see all Beauty and remember The Princess of People's Hearts 💗 💕 🌹 🕊️ 💖 💞 🏵️ 🧡
M. B.
Grounds are well kept. Palace looks great. Definitely recommend visiting.
H. F.
Great Experience! Lovely to see the history of the Royals and how they lived their lives.
The staff were extremely grateful and nice and answered many questions.
The food was excellent and delicious!
A. F.
Really enjoyed the tour and were able to see Diana's wedding dress and her statue in the sunken garden. Great place to stop off for a wee cuppa tea and refreshments.
K. R.
Lovely day! Learnt a lot about Queen Victoria. Icing on the cake was seeing Princess Diana wedding dress!!
F. D.
Nice historic place, just beautiful inside and outside.
K. B.
You currently need a timed ticket to enter (even if you are a member of Historic Royal Palaces), so it is easiest to prebook. There are still queues to enter as the security bag checks take time because they clean the tray after each bag.
It feels relatively covid safe as visitors need to wear masks insure, there are lots of sanitiser dispensers, and the timed tickets help control numbers.
This is the palace where Queen Victoria was born (there is a plaque on the wall of the room), grew up and was awoken in the middle of the night to be told she was Queen.
It is also where Princess Diana lived and where the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge live with their children (in a private area of the palace).
It is very nice although some areas were closed off for renovations - no discount on the entry price.
C. L.
Gorgeous space marking one of the most historic sights in British monarchy history. Underestimated as a part of the ultimate tours dictating the rise and fall of women ensconced by British oppression within the autocratic system. However, they do provide a lovely selection of cakes and tea in fancy porcelain China pots within eye shot of cheaply selected jewellery and overly commercialised fruitless propaganda. This place needs ro revamp their approach and stop product placing their agenda. Imperialism is over. Get rid of the pearls and appeal to the masses who are keeping up afloat. Revamp and wake up.
P. J. H.
I didn't mean to spend so much time here, but if you study the room guides; you get all the stories.
There's vast details about Queen Victoria, and the life she shared. From childhood doll's house and theatre, to her courtship, marriage and reign. Up forty-five steps to the Kings study, takes you to a different era.
Artwork, sculptures, travelling beds, with Victoria's crown, made smaller (because of her frame); and the jewels returned to the Tower of London.
S. F.
I've been in the Kensington Palace a few times and, knowing the place's history, every single time it feels like Diana is still very present there. Loved the exhibit and the Sunken Gardens.
J. C.
An excellent historical monument and, of course, living royal residence. Though it is much smaller than the other royal palaces, even smaller than many country houses, it has beautiful artistic works on display in it as well as itself being of great historical interest. I recommend visiting it.
G. O.
Beautiful garden shame about the statue. Diana wasnt portrayed in the way we all remember her. The statue looks like julie Andrews in sound of music with the clothes and kids around her. She was a bright beautiful smiley fashionable lady who adored her kids. We need a more glamorous happy statue with her boys.
L. P. E.
The palace is marvelous, beautiful architecture. It is always nice to walk Kensington Gardens and see this gorgoeus building.
D.
A beautiful building and well managed Covid precautions but the exhibits are sparse. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly but overall the visit was disappointing. Went to see Royal Style in The Making and there just wasn't enough to see. There should have been more dresses on show and information about the designers and processes. That said it was a fantastic opportunity to see Diana's wedding dress up close.
C. B.
Absolutely lovely enjoyed the gardens and the statues.....
S. Ç.
We went to Kensington palace for my birthday. It was really beautiful, so much to see and experience.
We bought our tickets at the door. It was an amazing experience.
M. B.
Amazing experience so glad we managed to see Diana.
M. C.
Went to the palace to see Diana's wedding dress & the new statue of the princess. Had a great couple of hours here, discovering the palace itself, appreciating Queen Victoria's childhood, in this wonderful place. Loved the sunken garden. Great staff, very CV19 safe, very informative. Nice cafe, great ice-cream, cleam toilets, gift shop a tiny bit pricey. Well worth a visit.
P. F. (.
Kensington Palace was an interesting and enjoyable day out, the two first floor routes with displays and and memorabilia were interesting and well laid out, not too much detail, but enough to make it interesting. The palace is well organised and the staff attentive and patient. Outside the main palace is the Diana dress display and sunken gardens with the newly unveiled statue of Diana and children. There are two places to eat, the Cafe and Tea rooms, both seemed reasonable and the staff were polite and attentive. The Palace is only really accessible for visitors on foot, we parked on street and took a 12 minute walk through the park to get to the main entrance, we had to ask directions as for first time visitors it’s not obvious how to get there. I think it’s value for money and would recommend it to anyone interested in British history and the royal family.
D. C. (.
A good place to visit if you are in London especially if you want to see Princess Diana's Wedding Dress which is located in the Orangery.
O. S.
Beautiful building played big part in Britain's history. At least once must be visited, especially gardens.
P. T.
The exhibits and the palace is good, must see!
The gardens are huge and would require 2-3 hours for complete visit. There is a cafe in there as well as toilet facility available. Ticket print out is must, you can get it printed at the palace also.
N.
Friendly and helpful staff. Mid week, Spring visit, so there was no pressure to move at pace around the rooms. Good level of description around each room's history and contents. Great photography gallery of royal photos.
P. J.
Love the Palace, my local, the displays, the shops, cafe and everything about it. Staff are SO nice and polite and it's always spotlessly clean everywhere. A pleasure to visit and, as an HRP member, it's free for me. They care about cleanliness and security, with covid & bag checks which are reassuring and take no time. Going with a party of ladies soon and I know they'll love it too. Always interesting exhibitions and so much history on my doorstep, I'm very blessed. Highly recommended.
J. P.
As a nice house this is fine and lots of history. However, the houses appeara to lack original features and is more of a gallery space with props from room to room than a home. The use of dolls and figures in each room is odd. It is acceptable this is not a grand palace and what it is until you consider the high price. The price of food here needs to be avoided at your cost, just walk to the edge of the park to find better and cheaper.
J. R.
Lovely walk through the gardens and around the duck pond. To the palace. Didn't go inside just looked through the gates. Lots of lovely pictures of the late princess attached to the gate ❤️.
S. S.
Beautiful serene gardens, statues, high teas, historic palace!
A. R. A. K.
Nice place for a walk, sit down, chill and enjoy the scenery
S. E.
A fabulous day out, but be sure to book ahead. To see Princess Diana's wedding dress made our day❤️
T. G.
You don't need to have to go round the house to go and have a cup of tea and cake in their tea room.
Just mention at the door you're here to just have a cup of tea.
Your bag, should you have one,is searched and your shown the way to the tea room no charge via the shop.
There's a large terrace to enjoy in the summer as well.
A good way to finish a ramble around Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park in very posh surroundings .
k. m.
Some great stuff and paintings, but some rooms very sparse. Most people will find something to enjoy here.
b. l.
As Mum loves everything about Diana we take her to Kensington Palace. #new statue #beautiful garden
S. L.
Absolutely stunning, I would say more modern history orientated.
Royal style exhibition was fantastic.
O. S.
Beautiful building played big part in Britain's history. At least once must be visited, especially gardens.

Excellent history of Queen Victoria and an excellent photo exhibits of the Royal family. Recommended.

Brilliant exhibition about Royals through the lens.Lovely coffee and cake sitting outside of the Palace in the sunshine Informative guides while going round exhibition
J. R.
Lovely walk through the gardens and around the duck pond. To the palace. Didn't go inside just looked through the gates. Lots of lovely pictures of the late princess attached to the gate ❤️.

Such a beautiful place ,and actually getting to see Queen Victoria's apartments and things belonging to her was so special. Would definitely recommend a visit

Some great stuff and paintings, but some rooms very sparse. Most people will find something to enjoy here.
A. E.
Beautiful Palace. The designer exhibition was fascinating and seeing Diana's wedding dress was a treat. I also enjoyed the information regarding Queen Victoria's childhood home and her experience of living at Kensington Palace. The guides were very informative and made the exhibition come to life with their stories. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. So special to see where the Kings and Queens of the United Kingdom once lived and held court. Well worth a visit.
D. H.
The four stars is really only because of the fact that Princess Diana's wedding dress was on display during our visit, it was displayed incredibly well. Very strange choice of position for the new Diana Memorial Statue, you cannot get close enough at the front to see it clearly as you cannot walk inside the sunken garden.
S. R.
We went especially to see Diana's wedding dress. Along with the history of the Palace. It rained the entire time we were there but we still enjoyed it.
K. P.
Lovely visit to Kensington Palace, loved seeing the exhibits especially Diana's dress and Victoria's childhood would recommend a visit
A. E.
Beautiful Palace. The designer exhibition was fascinating and seeing Diana's wedding dress was a treat. I also enjoyed the information regarding Queen Victoria's childhood home and her experience of living at Kensington Palace. The guides …
S.
I really enjoyed the visit. The small shop inside the palace was also good. There were several fancy and sweet items.
E. R.
Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. It’s a bit smaller place however packed with tons of information. It’s the birth place of Queen Victoria and hence talks about her early days. The best part was the exhibition where Princess Diana’s wedding dress was on public display alongside some awestruck wardrobe collection from the royal family. The gardens were beautiful and forms a striking cord for the visit.
R. J.
Very enjoyable visit. 15.minute walk from Queensway station.
Tour of the rooms where Queen Victoria grew up and the impressive State rooms of George II.
Timed entry means that there is some control of visitor numbers.
The exit is inevitably via the gift shop and cafe. Cafe staff a bit off hand to be honest.
S. L.
Get early tickets, trying to see everything with lots of people is difficult. Take a picnic as the queues and lack of tables in the tea room means a long wait.
C. B.
great place to visit - staff very helpful and informative
l. g.
Some amazing exhibits, well organised.
Café outside, which I think is open to anyone without paying for admission.
Finally got to see Princess Diana's wedding dress. Diana's memorial is there too, very serene.
J. E.
A must of you are visiting London, beautiful peaceful garden to reflect Diana’s beautiful life.
S. L.
Absolutely stunning, I would say more modern history orientated.
Royal style exhibition was fantastic.
S. W.
First time visiting Kensington Palace. Shame that the Kings rooms were being refurbished, but the rest was fascinating.
P. O.
Fascinating especially with certain staff guides who really entertain and inform of events and bring those rooms alive. As a British citizen, going back too many generations one resents paying for what one has paid for in tax revenue over decades and the blood, sweat and tears of ones' ancestors. Too many palaces inhabited by too many royals at our still outrageous expense. We have already paid over and over. They should be free.
J. D.
Absolutely loved going here! I wasn't so sure about doing Kensington during my trip to London but agreed as my friends wanted to go but it truly felt like taking a step into history. Beautiful palace with lovely gardens, definitely visit if you're a fan of Queen Victoria! Enjoyed our visit, lots of interesting things to see inside and very pretty gardens.
S.
Can be a quick stop if you are already in Hyde park.
I. C.
I only saw the palace from the outside. I walked in the park and took some photos. This is a great place to talk and walk, and the palace looks amazing.
The bathrooms in the park are closed due to COVID.
P. F.
Beautiful. Visited the sunken garden to see Princess Diana's Memorial Statue, gorgeous gardens. Loved it.
E. K.
Highlight was the display of tiaras and Diana’s wedding dress albeit bitter sweet to see. Less impressive than when she wore it, perhaps it was the absence of the veil and tiara in the case. Didn’t know what to make of the Strange arty Diana wallpaper in one room, angular Scarfe type in style.
D. H.
The New Photo Exhibition Life Through a Royal Lens is The Best Part Excellent Family Photographs. The Staff Are Very Knowledgeable & Friendly. Nice Coffee & Gift Shop as Well.
R. L.
Educational way to spend an 1-2 hours. It’s not huge but I came out of it knowing more than when I came in about Victoria and her journey to the throne.
M.
Nothing that staff can do about it, but go here and expect at least ONE hoity-toity sort. The palace is well-loved and dressed up clean with dedicated guides, but visitors let it down.
Snobbery in public palaces, who'd have thought? 😅 Oh well, ignore them and enjoy the gallery. Definitely a treat!
D. F.
Well organised, covid protocol followed staff very informative and friendly saw princess Diana's wedding dress in all its glory, Queen Victoria Centre of this tour, saw restored chandeliers ,restoration still ongoing in one of the rooms, many historical paintings, Diana statue is free to view thru a separate entrance to the house entrance and can be viewed at many different angles, cut out into the hedging, you can't enter the sunken garden itself, just view but it really is very tranquil
S. E. D. L. C. B.
Nice walk, beautiful gardens.

I am a member of Historic Royal Palaces and have been here several times, and continue to come back. I love the history, and this is also a feel good place for me. I like the way it makes me feel calm and relaxed.
H. I.
Went to see Princess Diana's wedding dress. Enjoyed the other royal apartments and Queen Victoria exhibition but there are several bland empty spaces. Staff are really helpful and informative. Gift shop is well stocked but only accepts cards.
T. G.
Fantastic place to visit, really interesting and well worth going to. The grounds and garden look amazing, only had half a day to look around around the house, so will return in the summer.
D. L.
💯 loved every minute especially seeing Diana's wedding dress 🙏❤
I. M.
A favourite with princess Diana and you can see why. A beautiful sunken garden in the grounds of Kensington palace which now has a statue of the princess.
D. P.
So beautiful and very informative. It was such a great area! I really was glad to get to visit. We had no issues getting in with the london pass, and it was really not crowded either. Was nice to have a easy walk in and out of all the rooms. Also nice to have an exhibit where you can actually take pictures!
l. S.
I really enjoyed our visit and loved seeing princess Diana's wedding dress, I didn't think it looked good until I saw it in person. It was a bit overcrowded yesterday and it felt rushed. One of my children enjoyed there visit the other said she wants to try the dresses not look at them which summed up our visit.
A. P.
The guides were really passionate about sharing their knowledge of the history of the palace. It is quite an understated palace in many ways - not all gilt and glamour.
S. B. J.
What a lovely place to visit, a 1o out of 10
A. b.
Had a lovely day at Kensington gardens.went there to do a charity walk for Parkinson's uk.
L. K.
Cafe and gift shop were very nice. Delicious tea and scones. Nice gifts as well. Enjoyed walking around the gardens but did not get a chance to explore the interior.
P. W.
Good place to chill out
Fresh air
Not a wow place
It’s more for the history
J. D.
Very nice visit to see Diana's dress
M. G.
Beautiful place coffee ice cream teas & sweets where Princess Diana statue in the garden also opening of her clothes and her historical wedding dress, gowns etc.
I. A. N.
Always a nice area to visit during your holidays!
D.
Nice place to visit, history of king and queens and many more.
L. C. P.
What a spectacular venue for a wedding. We have photographed weddings all over the world but this venue will always be one of the best! We can't wait to do it all again.
J. F.
Loved this place.Saff are really helpful and knowledgable.Dont be afraid to ask questions as the staff are full of information.Beutiful rooms ,so full of history .loved Diana's memorial and the gardens are amazing. The gift shop is a bit pricey but no more than any of the other Royal Palace.
T. F.
Such a great place to visit! We really enjoyed all of the details that we got to see inside and outside of the palace! The well preserved clothes, art work, toys, rooms and gardens are amazing to see! We were a little rushed, but we had a full day to see so many things. I want to go back to see more of the palace and take my time. We got our entrance with The London Pass, which got us to the “skip the line” line. The gift shop is really nice too! 👑 Such an amazing time at the palace! 💕
C. M.
Had a beautiful afternoon tea here. Delicious sandwiches, perfectly scones and unique teas. Highly recommended.
f. a.
First time I've been here really, enjoyed it.
J. S.
Beautiful palace with huge gardens right within the city.
The garden is freely accessible but the palace requires the purchase of a ticket for admission.
The palace has great art, with paintings and sculptures. It has multiple sections, some of which are the Queen's state apartments, the king's state apartments, the way the royals lived when younger and a big toy house.
Adjoining the palace, there is a lovely cafe that serves hot drinks and a good selection of teatime savories.
The garden has a big pond in the center which has some swans, ducks and other birds moving about in it.
J. B.
Covid procedures in place and it wasn't too crowded due to booking system. We originally went to see Diana's wedding dress and statue, but found it all interesting. There's also a nice cafe area.
I. E.
Nice place to spend a day with a family or friends. There is a nice cosy cafe, a pond where you can feed swans, geese, ducks and the children playground nearby within 5 min walk away
M. M.
Very interesting to see Diana's wedding dress
P. M.
The sunken gardens with Princess Diana's statue is a lovely and blissful part of Kensington Gardens
J. F.
Lovely place to go. Not very self explanatory with covid directions and how to get to other floors, as we missed quite a lot of the exhibition.
B. F.
Not worth the ticket admission comparative to Buckingham Palace and other London exhibitions. But very well presented, lovely staff. Went for the Diana Fashion exhibit and was disappointed with only 4 items on display.
T. L.
Interesting story about Albert and Queen Victoria showing her life and possessions. You can also see Diana’s wedding dress meringue.
K. C.
A very nice palace which shows the life of Queen Elizabeth! Great collection and revealed the life of a royal family
C. H.
I enjoyed coming here to learn more about all the different royals. It gives a full history from day 1. The park is also pleasant to stroll through during the day. The storytelling from some of the staff makes you feel you were there. Very interesting place to check out.
c. m.
Fab fab fab.. Lovely cafe and resteraunt too...
E. A.
Came here to view Dianas wedding dress. The different rooms held alot of information, and Dianas dress was beautiful. Staff were very helpful, well worth a visit!
L. C.
Brilliant exhibition about Royals through the lens.Lovely coffee and cake sitting outside of the Palace in the sunshine Informative guides while going round exhibition
L. B.
Loved this place so well preserved the staff was great loved everything about it just some of the thing you will come across when you visit it
A. R.
An interesting experience to see the childhood of Queen Victoria and the various representatives.
A. M.
Very informative exhibition on the life of Queen Victoria inside. The palace is hidden away in the gardens but it is a beautiful building. Would definitely recommend going here, did not have huge crowds.
H. F.
Wonderful visit, the Style In The Making exhibition was truly special. Staff were very helpful and the time slot work really well for social distancing etc
C. C.
Majestic, while also being warm and welcoming. The exhibition at the time (Victoria during her Youth) weaves a wonderful tale of a young girl soon to be queen.
J. C.
I didn't visit the Palace inside but I really appreciate its gift shop, full of quality souvenirs, far better than the usual stuff you find in all the other touristic spots. The park is worth a visit too, with its calm lake and all the aquatic birds.
S. S.
It's enjoyable with plenty of things to see. But get an online ticket to save some quids. Via getyourguide for 16 instead of paying 20.
T. T.
We had High Tea on the ground of Kensington Palace with our granddaughter who is 2 1/2 . The staff was great and the high tea was memorable. This is my second visit in five years and I want disappointed. Service was a bit slow.
R. F.
Great fashion exhibition and good viewing of Diana's statue
t. w.
Really beautiful palace with a wonderful garden. The garden was really beautiful and a real joy to take a stroll in. The pond was full of life. Fishes were swimming about while the magnificent swans were just posing for the cameras. The castle ground itself is mostly pay-to-enter but there is a small portion housing a cafe and gift shop that is free entry.
Overall, it's the kind of place I would visit monthly at the very least if I were living in London. Highly recommended.
L. C.
A stunning site! I loved every minute i was there. Some of the rooms are very similar to the rooms in Hampton court palace and it is very beautiful! I would love to go again!
F. N.
Lovely place and really nice to see all the rooms and history, however thought it would be bigger with some gardens however its just the house. Around 2 hours visit neede max. Easy to get to.
M. N.
Good but not keen on the many internal refurbishments with modern fabrics and carpets. I like "old and original". Not a lot in the way of original furniture. Sunken gardens new design/colours I liked a lot. I still don't care for the Diana statue. Overall the day was enjoyable.
G. S.
Kensington Palace is a royal residence located in Kensington Gardens, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in London, England. It has been used by the British Royal Family since the 17th century.
A. B.
Great exhibitions and the staff are so knowledgeable and very happy to answer questions. Learnt so much about the Royal history. Well worth a visit.
D. T.
Whilst you cannot go all around the palace, as it is home to some of the Royals, you get to see quite a lot of the palace including where Queen Victoria was born. Some of the rooms, and their artwork, are very impressive including the Long Gallery. The adjoining Gardens are also very picturesque
C. M.
What a beautiful place to visit
M. M. B.
Kensington Palace is beautifully maintained and the tours are extraordinary - actors revive the past and so you get to meet the King’s mistress, his confidant and the Queen. The way the Palace is presented to the visitors is very creative and gives you a great impression as to how life at the court has been when Kensington Palace was at the center of court life. Most remarkable is also the presentation of Queen Victoria’s childhood including her original toys - all in all, it’s worth the visit and besides the way everything is presented, the rooms are of course remarkable. After all, it’s a Royal Palace which never ceased to be one.
S. M.
A must see if you are into anything royal related or anything related to historic buildings. Good tour round all the main rooms plus an exhibition of royal fashion designers, although not a vast number of outfits on display. They did have the iconic Diana wedding dress, though!
A. L. (.
This is one of my favorite places in London! The garden is very pretty with the lake and park right there. Even on frosty mornings, lots of people take out the dogs for a stroll. There are also a lot of Swans and birds. Great for a nice walk with great scenery.
A. S.
Fantastic place to visit, we went during February and the weather wasn’t the warmest however it didn’t take away from a great experience. The cafe is amazing and has a great selection of hot and cold food. The gardens I would imagine looking stunning during the summer months. Highly recommend visiting if you come to London and want to visit something different.
R. R.
Such a beautiful place ,and actually getting to see Queen Victoria's apartments and things belonging to her was so special. Would definitely recommend a visit
R. m.
Amazing atmosphere, went the day after princess Diana's 23rd anniversary of her death, great to see the floral tributes and card's, she is still so loved and greatly missed, you can also take a walk through Hyde park nearby and see the Princess Diana memorial.
D. L.
Wished I looked at each room more, as it took me shorter to look at with the time slot allocated, second round would of been better if offered. House is screened off with black blinds to make it more dull and impressive in appearance. Shame as the rooms are dark enough with wooden panelling etc. Dressing through the ages was great, lovely to see Lady Diana's wedding dress in person with all the details. Kensington Gardens are vast
C. H.
The tour of the house was great, well organised and informative. Exhibition of clothes not big but included "the" wedding dress. In my opinion no better on the flesh than it was on the day, but still nice to see. No access to the sunken garden do unable to see sculpture of Diana up close. Again in my opinion it looked nothing like her & unable to read inscription on the ground in front of it. But go see it for yourself, well worth a visit.
J. W.
Very informative and helpful staff when you go round the rooms Queen Victoria played in as a child
B. O.
Thoroughly fascinating journey into the personal lives and history of Britain’s royal family. The gardens are delightful and the exhibition inside the palace is incredibly interesting. Never expected to see a large portrait of Peter the Great, or even Diana’s wedding dress!
F. F.
We had a great tour around Kensington Palace... been wanting to go for some time and finally had an opportunity and it didn't disappoint.
R. S.
Worth visiting to see not only the Palace itself but to stroll around the grounds and park. So quiet and peaceful it was hard to believe you were in the centre of London.
R. K.
A beautiful places to learn about the history of the royal family. Most people are quiet in their so I would not recommend bringing kids, unless they are interested/ won't annoying the rest of the public. We used the London pass to get in, and it was very simple.
C. Y. W.
Wonderful place for a late afternoon walk and enjoy the cool air and the surrounding as the sun sets. There's also a beautiful pond in the middle of the garden or park. Beautiful swans and ducks swimming around. The park can be quite busy nearing the evening with lots of people coming out for a light jog. It's also a place where kids can enjoy feeding the swans and ducks. Definitely a nice place to visit in London. :)
M. J.
As my girlfriend pointed out, the background sound effect in the nursery of children playing is a bit creepy. However, the look on her face when I told her that I couldn't hear anything was worth the entry fee alone. 😂
L. T.
Love this palace - especially the huge Round Pond and the Gardens. Worthwhile visiting in summer when there are thousands of visitors picnicing on the lawns. A beautiful place to visit. Lady Di's clothes exhibition had me in tears.
P. N.
If you love the royal family visit . The sunken garden beautiful got some fab photos if the new statue and the walk through the lime trees amazing. The 2 floors if history stunning . Had he most amazing short talk from one of the staff of the history of the palace which just brought it to life. The royal jewels on display phenomenal seriously DIAMOND TIARA breathtakingly beautiful, then the emerald tiara ,necklace, earrings OMG, Seeing is believing. Finish of with a lite bite or maybe go for an amazing afternoon tea in the pavilion. Jewellry and memorabilia quality what else would we expect gorgeous proud to be British
A. S.
Gorgeous palace full of happy memories of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The gardens are even more beautiful, too bad visitors can't go beyong their locked gates.
T. R.
You don’t have to be a royal or Princess Diana fan to enjoy Kensington Palace. The palace building, surrounding grounds and views are fantastic. Even better if it is a sunny day on a weekend, with families, kids and everyday people enjoying the day, open air and views. I was impressed how accessible and well utilized the palace was, despite being part of the royal family’s housing. There are some apps you can download and get talking history lessons for key landmarks too. Take the time to enjoy the garden and have a good look in the gift shop. We took the time to walk around palace and surrounding grounds and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are lucky, there is an ice cream van nearby to enhance the visit.
K. L.
The exhibits and the palace is good, must see!
The gardens are huge and would require 2-3 hours for complete visit. There is a café in there as well as toilet facility available. Ticket print out is must, you can get it printed at the palace also.
J. C.
The late princess dianas wedding dress, top attraction!
M. W.
Me and my best friend didn't check any update about Diana's dresses exhibition and we were a bit disappointed as is no longer there. Shame as it's not there for good as it's perfect place to have it for good.
The shop with souvenir is the best so far we have seen in London.
I'll be back there definitely in the summer.
Bonus for costumes from the film The Favourite . Lovely
S. s.
Fabulous Palace and the information provided was just right. The guides are very knowledgeable and provided extra information. I miss the days of guided tours around Stately homes. However the room guides were very helpful answering questions. Highly recommend
S. S.
Helpful and nice staff. Has to be the warmest place I have visited. The exhibition on Royal dressing was limited, good to see Diana's wedding dress.
K. K.
Loved it, the royalty history and surroundings. Interesting tour inside with lots to see and do. Wander around and read all the stories dating back 400 years. What a grand place with many old artefacts still the same as it was back then.
M. A.
Nice place to chill out and relax in the midst of nature.
J.
Well kept and some neat exhibits. The people in my party really enjoyed the dresses. Nothing to wild here.
K.
Lovely place. Very romantic. Nice place to take a stroll to for romance, quiet time or just want to look at the scenery. You can also take a tour around Princess Diana's House which is opened to the public. There's also places there for you to have something to eat and there is also a gift shop.
P. R.
Most adorable palace I would say only Because of Diana’ stay and her fashion memorial display. It also has great history to hold the stay of king and queen Victoria stay. Victoria statue in front of the palace has QR code, once you focus with phone camera, you will get auto file to hear the voice to self demonstration about her majesty. Entry to the garden is free but entry to palace needs a ticket to be purchased. The golden gate in memory of Diana is impressive. The pond with ducks and the park is lovely to spend good 30 on the park and another 1hour is required to be spent in the palace. The palace has restrooms, food court in the ground floor and a shopping center to purchase things about the palace and related things like t.shirt, key chains, etc.
M. D.
We love Kensington Palace great day out
A. W.
Lovely grounds and fun palace to go through! The audio guide was nice and informative as well as the guide books in each room. After visiting the palace you can take a nice walk through the gardens and even continue on to hyde park. There are lots of ducks, swans, and geese in the ponds so if you want to bring along so bread you will be very popular.
Y.
My favourite palace in london, it is beautifully preserved, with great volunteers and staff who help run it. The gift shop is the highlight, as there are so few places which still make beautiful letter writing paper nowadays. It givens a wonderful history of queen victoria's life.
D. O.
Royalty at its greatness. I enjoyed reading through Queen Victoria 's life...some live story it is. The place is well maintained and the staff are super friendly. The sunken garden is really beautiful, an interesting place for photography.
J. M.
I have waited a long time to see this palace and I was not disappointed. The grounds and park are lovely too.
m. t.
A great place to visit. Beautiful gardens. And a really nice coffee shop. You can visit the gardens and eat in the coffee shop without buying a ticket to the palace. But a tour in the palace is also recommended. Its located in the best spot of Hide Park in my opinion. Have fun!
S. S.
Nice to say you've been there and got the tee-shirt but you can't help but feel a little disappointed with the internal areas that you're allowed to go around. The main issue for many people was the darkness of many of the rooms. The explanation is to do with the lux levels and the age of some of the materials (curtains, pictures etc).
Whereas some other historic buildings close for a few months of the year and keep their treasured pieces out of sight and in the dark, HRP claim to not close their buildings but this then means when you visit, blinds can be down & lights on but at a low level (at least in Kensington Palace) and it just makes for a slightly uninspiring atmosphere because it's so gloomy and difficult to see much.
On a positive note the gardens are nice, as is Hyde Park which a lot of people might walk through before arriving at the Palace.
C. a. C.
We underestimated the experience of visiting this palace. Mainly in that we didn’t expect all of our small traveling family to be thoroughly engaged in what the palace had on offer.
We bought the children’s guide/history book, and we all ended up reading it cover to cover by the time a week had passed from our visit. Our child kept stopping to read it as we went through the various rooms. Which is nice as a parent, as you get time to read and learn more yourself. A must buy if you have children of reading age... or not... you can read them the short funny stories of the palace!
The Diana section was excellent despite it having less fashion examples that we had anticipated - this did not reduce the value or experience though as they were well chosen to fit the story of her life and influence. Let’s call it an appropriately modest display.
The Victoria section was very thorough and lots of variety as it followed her life story. If you can hear the guide talk in the red room, you’ll be more excited to see and will be able to contextualize the displays that follow.
The Kings and Queens section were diverse and fascinating, and we wish we had more than the 2 or so hours we had to soak in more of the detail of these rooms.
Visiting hours are shorter in winter, so plan to make it a main event for the day as a family visiting, rather than squeeze it in amongst other places nearby.
R. Q.
Really interesting place. Lots on Queen Victoria. Not a massive amount to see but I stopped and read everything and took about 1.5-2 hours
J. B.
First time coming here pity it wasn't in the day time as the garden did look lovely. I went for the Bright Nights:Empire exhibition. The Black Chronicles was interesting seeing black Victorians for the first time was very thought provoking.
Queen Victoria exhibition was also interesting.
y. p.
London is much greener than I thought initially and Kensington Palace Gardens is another proof for that. Lovely garden to walk and relax once you have finished the palace tour. There was not much rush on Saturday when we visited palace.
J. L.
An amazing experience, the actors made it an extra special visit! Loved the pantomime, lots to see, suitable for all ages, Victoria’s clothes were amazing! I would highly recommend a visit
S. C.
Absolutely beautiful place. Very interesting. Currently Royal Style in the making exhibition is on. Well worth a visit
B. T.
Kensington palace is one of the must visits when touring London. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There's a great park for walking or just lounging on one of the benches. A great place to bring the family.
P. S.
Nice place to visit. It is actually quite small inside, but a lot to see. Especially the collection of Princess Diana dresses 👗 is very nice. Highly recommended 👍🏻
G. S.
A lovely place to visit....but beware the cafe ...its expensive.
T. G.
Beautiful!! We went for the Princess Diana's dresses exhibition which was lovely but a little underwhelming. However I was very pleasantly surprised to find there was more to see. We also had entry to the King's and Queen's apartments which was beautiful but I was most taken with the Victoria and Albert display!! I confess I'm not great on history but it was focused on the loving relationship they had which was so endearing and fascinating. (Started watching 'Victoria' now to get the full story). The displays of clothes, trinkets, jewels and the children's lives were worth the trip itself.
E. G. E.
Whilst we wandered around the various rooms, my sommelier friend mentioned that Prince William is also a 🍷 wine connoisseur because: "he does enjoy the occasional Rosé from the Cholmondley estate."
C. V.
We spent an afternoon here. We enjoyed ourselves very much, but there should be better descriptions of what is in each room besides a book that you must sit and read. And there is only one or two in each room. The Gardena are beautiful. We eaves dropped on a private tour as they stopped near us. We would recommend if you come here to take a private tour.
S. H.
I am conflicted in how to review the limited public access if Kensington Palace given other members of the 'family' actually live here. Having said that, if the Queen can provide plenty of access to Windsor, Buckingham Palace etc, then better access can and should be provided to the public.
The displays are pretty rudimentary and as is appatent at other Trust properties, only partial restorations take place eg: all the faux paint finishes and printed faux ceilings/wall treatments are just embarrassing.
Luckily there are some original furnishings to save the day.
The lighting of the paintings (originals) is appalling.
On a comparison with the Royal Collection Trust, the management and trustees are not doing a good job (other than providing very well displayed and lit gift shops) of either presenting their properties beyond the basic built fabric. On a entry fee base, they are terribly expensive compared to say Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
Could someone explain why Kew Palace closes for the Winter? Seems to be a very well staffed organisation (especially with signage copywriters holding skills in overly ambitious descriptions which don't match reality at all), perhaps some trimming there might open up additional conservation funds?
M. M.
One of the best places to walk around in Central London. Wide open spaces with an enormous pond that serves as a sanctuary for a host of avian species, primarily swans and ducks. Perfect place to relax, clear your mind, have a picnic, have a jog, or simply watch the world go by.
M. H.
Beautiful building and gardens we spent three hours just walking around staff very helpful.
K. D.
Had a lovely day out here and surprisingly not too busy considering it is the summer holidays. So interesting learning about the history and lots of staff around in period dress happy to answer questions and interact with visitors while keeping to character. You will bump into Prince Albert and Queen Victoria among others. Currently exhibiting Queen Victoria's clothes and personal possessions which is fascinating. Had a gorgeous walk through Kensington Palace gardens afterwards and of course plenty of photo opportunities next to those famous gates. Would definitely recommend.
b. k.
If they didn't have the Victoria what would you see there but a bunch of empty rooms. If you're not into queen Victoria do not bother. Even if you have London pass don't waste your time if you aren't into queen Vickie uninspired unimpressed and certainly not worth it if you have to pay out of pocket. The walk there was longer then our visit
S. L.
Nice palace although small in comparison to others. However, it was very interesting especially in terms of the history of the place and people who lived there, and is especially good for Proncess Diana fans. The gardens are amazingly beautiful also.
T. D. D.
The palace is so nice to look at. We didn’t go inside as it was after hours, but the view was enough for us! You can walk around pretty much the entire place and the gardens are so nice. So much space to walk around!
C. B.
Kensington Palace is one of the Historic Royal Palaces and this was the main reason I wanted to visit it. The Palace is not that big and it can be visited in 2-3 hours for sure. The gardens and the area around the Palace can be visited for free (and the gardens are really beautiful), the inside of the palace though requests a ticket which is pretty expensive (in my opinion). If you are staying for a few days in London and you pass by, I would suggest having a walk in the gardens and the park, but if you are not in particular interested in the history of the Royal Family and Princess Diana, I would suggest not paying the ticket for going inside, but save the money and see a better palace in London.
A. L.
At least is one of this place who brings you hope After the pandemic...Very nice and wide space for your Dog(I don't recommend Cats in this Park)Lol
J. C.
Three visits to Kensington Palace and always learn something new about the history.
A stroll through the rooms is rich with history and experiences and sometimes even live musical performances, readings, or more!
Take the time to visit and you won’t be disappointed.
D. L.
Enjoyed a day here. Queen Victoria's childhood exhibition very good and saw Princess Diana's wedding dress.
S. B.
Beautiful manicured garden but with a natural feel. I felt peace whilst walking around here and the colours were beautiful. I do love nature.
M. C.
Beautiful gardens to wander through. The palace was very nice to walk through and see the history. The staff was very friendly as well. Loved our time there.
M. D.
Excellent history of Queen Victoria and an excellent photo exhibits of the Royal family. Recommended.
Z. S.
I love my Royal palaces member ship, I get to visit many times and every time there will be a different theme, for those who loves british history I would recommend you to buy one, and enjoy your unlimited visits.
J. L.
Lovely spot to visit either as part of a stroll around Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens or to feel the buzz of royalty nearby, as the current home to Will, Kate and their kids. If you have the opportunity to come for a dinner, don't pass it up. Truly a special place to be at night after it's closed to the public.
L. D.
The Fashion Rules exhibit was so great! There is also plenty of really neat architectural and design features throughout the palace. The staff was very friendly and eager to share their knowledge of the history.
M. M.
An excellent place to learn English history and monarch. Staff are nice and kind. Security is a little tough. I just one step out the exit to check where the ice cream window was, one security guy asked to check my rucksack again, although he saw my half body was still in the palace souvenir shop. “NONO, you will be checked again!”
P. M.
Beautiful Palace with amazing history. Well worth the tour. I would recommend the audio tour as a helpful addition.
J. S.
Very interesting history. Lovely gardens and followed by superb tea and cakes in the Pavilion.
g.
Residence of the young Royals. Fee for tour. Café, Gift Shop and Restaurant. Sunken Garden is the highlight...very romantic. The Gift Shop has reproductions of Princess Diana's various iconic pieces of jewelry.
S. S.
Visited the new Diana statue, so beautiful and tranquil there.
T. S. T.
Visiting Kensington Palace was better than we had expected. The live participation was especially appreciated and gave a wonderful view of what life was like in the palace centuries ago.
J. S.
Had a great day out at Kensington palace where I saw princess Diana's fashion story as well as a Victorian experience. Really worth a visit. Food in the cafeteria was very reasonably priced especially for London. We were blessed with a beautiful day to experience the grounds a very relaxing day.
A. L.
Beautiful palace, the former home of the late Diana, Princess of Wales & now the London base for Prince William & Catherine, Duke & Duchess of Cambridge. We went to see the exhibition of Queen Victoria - absolutely excellent, so informative & interesting - so much to see & the exhibition is so well laid out. Absolutely unmissable. Shop has lots of choice for all pockets & the cafe nice too. Don't miss seeing the sunken garden a lovely reflective spot in memory of the late Princess of Wales.
Y. C. G.
A lovely palace located just at the fringe of Kensington Park, this place is well worth the visit for its historical significance as well as its existing use as the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The palace is small, much smaller than even a typical Staley home in England - it’s more like a larger sized bungalow, built on a rather smallish plot of land. This actually makes it easier for visitors to really comb through the permitted areas without much effort, moving through the various exhibitions.
It’s recommended to buy the London Pass as this is one of the attractions under the London Pass.
Recommended to visit!
L. S.
Enjoyed the palace especially the tea and scones in the Pavilion. Lovely remembrances of Princess Diana. She lived there for 15 years. A memorial fountain and playground are dedicated in her honor.
G. Y.
Top Tip - splash out a fiver on the "Discover Kensington Palace" Souvenir Guidebook - it's so much more interesting and informative than the actual house. We were visiting as my partner is a long time Princess Diana fan, and was very keen on seeing the clothes exhibition. Have to say, I'm not a fan, but was impressed, although I wouldn't go so far as to admit it to her;-)
Even more disappointed to find out that the area that I was particularly looking forward to, the 'Victoria Revealed' exhibition was closed, and doesn't reopen until June!! The apartments themselves are, well, OK, but as a long term National Trust Member, I've probably been spoiled over the years. On the plus side, the cafe area is rather....nice.
R. P.
As a visitor from Las Vegas and not a big following fan of the Royals, I was less impressed than my wife. But this is my review! It is a long walk from the street into the palace entrance and not well marked, since it appears that you can enter from several different sides. I think our Uber dropped us at a far location and was not familiar with this landmark. Once inside it was cold and drafty, like it was outside in November. But, the staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Like I said, not a fan, but it was ok, just nothing really grabbed me as some older castle tours we have done on past trips to Great Britain. If your a Royals follower, j am sure you would enjoy it more.
E. W.
I bought a timed entry online for a slight discount, but there wasn't any line. They gave a leaflet about the exhibitions. I saw the 'Victoria Woman and Crown', Victoria A Royal Childhood', King's Apartments and Queen's Apartments - the King's section was most lavish! No audio or guided tour and displays didn't give much info, but still nice to see all the precious items used by royalty. My visit was in July 2019. I would recommend a visit if you have time. I had a week in London and so had time.
D. S.
Still one of the best buildings in England to show its history. Lovely garden of remembrance for the late princess Diana.
L. A.
The Kensington Palace is set in a beautiful expansive park together with The Diana, Princess of Wales Children Playground and the Round Pond. The Sunken Garden and Hyde Park and several other attractions are extensions of the park.
Lovely well groomed park with good views and seats, walking trails and playground for kids.
I saw many people exercising here at different times of the day.
You get to pay to access a tour of the palace with some parts of the palace being used as gift shop and Tea Cafe. The gift shop and Tea Cafe are free to enter.
L. A.
Sunken gardens were amazing as was Kensington palace however was somewhat dissapointed with the royal exhibition of dresses was expecting more to be on show. That said the actual palace itself was very well laid out and plenty to see
C. S.
Very beautiful palace enjoyed the Exhibition of Royal Style especially Princess Diana's wedding dress and most especially the statue in the Sunken Garden. The staff in the palace were very helpful and friendly and helpful.
K. B.
Very elegant palace with plenty to see. Tour spread out in a number of buildings. The exhibition with Lady Diana's wedding dress was very impressive. Loved the opera played out in the little theatre. Lovely smell of lime trees when we were there end June.
A. S.
Awesome place to visit. I enjoyed the gardens more than the palace itself, lots to see and it's generally quite quiet. Everywhere the garden is maintained.
P. P.
Enjoyed the stroll through the park and the setting is lovely but the queue to even get to the gift store was too much. The grounds are fabulous so really worth the visit
v. j.
Kensington Palace was originally a two-storey jacobean mansion built by Sir George Coppin in 1605 in the village of Kensington. The mansion was purchased in 1619 by Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Nottingham and was then known as Nottingham House.
shortly after william and mary assumed the throne as joint monarchs in 1689, they began searching for a residence better suited for the comfort of the asthmatic William, as whitehall palace was too near the river thames, with its fog and floods, for William's fragile health
Y.
Admission is included in the London pass. A huge place. Need to walk through the park to get to the entrance. Great place to visit. We can see the inside where British royals had lived and the dresses that Princess Diana had worn.
S. R.
Great place. We liked more park and lake around the palace. There are a lot of platanes. To enter the palace you should pay 21.5 GBP. You can visit 10 room and local souvenirs shop. We decided to walk around. Bring some loaf to feed swans, ducks...
A. L.
Wonderful experience at the Palace. Just steps away from the train station. Highly recommend you spend a full day exploring the entire palace, formal gardens and royal tennis courts. The Horse-drawn carriage was also a great way to tour the garden and palaces. They also offer 3 tier high tea!
D. B.
Really enjoyed Kensington. A new deep respect for Queen Victoria too. Stunning palace with amazing interior. Only wish there were more exibits for the price. Staff were very friendly
A. W.
Loved it here. Lots of beautiful gardens and Palace is beautiful.
t. d.
Beautiful place to visit and experience royal life for outdating with your loved one 🥰
A. A.
A great place to spend a couple of hours - inside the palace as well as outside in the garden. The current special exhibition of princess Diana's gowns, accompanied by pictures and info, well deserves the visit.

Royal palace is a must visit for tourists while in london, the area surrounding the Kensington palace is crowded because of the views and looks, people flock to the area everyday and especially in the summers like now,the palace is amazing from the inside as it is from the outside, the entrance fee is £21.50 for an adult person which is a bit high but well worth it
鍾.
Oh my Buddha , this is the only place you can memory Princess of Wales Diana , so of course should be my personal favorite spot in the world
R. P.
As many places at London, this park has beautiful views for pictures. I did not went to the museum because it was already late. I saw the prices and were to high. But the park is free entrance and you can walk run or just t sit. There's a beautiful pond for birds who are friendly and you can feed. Just watch for signs co evening the birds. It is a pet friendly park.
H. L. G.
Wow! In the middle of Hyde Park. Stunning grounds and pretty inexpensive to visit. The statues available out front are gorgeous!
S. M.
Beautiful Palace and gardens!
W. B.
Beautiful Garden, quite, but loads of people strolling around. Did not go into the palace, however we stopped and had coffee and scones. Oh yeah.
P. B.
Had a wonderful visit to Kensington Palace.Didn't appreciate how significant the building was in terms of Britain/England's history. I would put some of the murals on a par with the sistine Chapel. Shout out to Jimmy whose knowledge of the people and famalies associated with the Palace was both enlightening and fascinating. Also to the Lady who explained why Queen Victoria's mourning was as a result of far more than loss of her beloved Albert. Fantastic value for money. Would highly recommend it to History lovers, Royalists and non royalists like myself. Fantastic.
R. B.
My favorite palace in Kensington! By following the information inside, you can see how the palace was transformed from a cottage to a proper palace where the most powerful woman in history lived: Victoria. And of course Dutch fella Willem III lived there, he actually had created the larger part of the palace. 🇾🇪🤙
D. W.
Great experience..very informative staff. Easy 2 to 3 hours here...gift shop has nice things..
J. K.
Learn about Queen Victoria’s childhood and her rise to be the monarch. They don’t have guided tours but do have scheduled sessions in key rooms which are worth attending.
D. J.
If you are not taking the your, mostly you won't be able to see much from outside. You can see it from the gardens though.
Kensington garden walk is something nice. With all the beautiful embassy bungalows in a row.
It is a private road, so you can only walk ke bicycle. No vehicles.
A. C. C.
Interesting place to visit, specially now, with the exhibition about the life of Queen Victoria. I really enjoyed watching actors impersonating people from the past.
R. M.
Beautiful house and gardens, the old Orangery is not what it used to be as a historical setting. But the afternoon tea service is still the same excellent quality
C. M.
Loved visited the state apartments and the 'Royal style in the making' exhibition! Lovely cafe and nice selection of snacks and sweets!
A.
It is a nice place to visit but I think it is a bit overpriced. There are some rooms with information you can read or you can rent an audioguide. The people who work there are usually friendly and very knowledgeable; they are happy to help you and tell you more about the palace. Went in July and there was no air conditioning so it was very very hot. I also went in December during the Christmas period and there was a special tour focusing on Christmas during Queen Victoria's time. There was also an exhibition with princess Diana's dresses. Nothing really impressive unless you are a fan of Diana and really want to see it.
B. W.
Beautiful palace!
There's lots to see here, everything seems well preserved and taken care of. Really enjoyed the visit to this gorgeous place.
D. K.
Great beautiful place. Well worth the walk even on my crappy ankle. Enjoyed the long walk with views of the wonderful grounds a godsend to break the self talk of cursing the arthroscopic surgery that was not done to satisfaction, but I digress. The area is busy at times with enough open spaces to thoroughly enjoy the site. You have to do it.
R. A.
A really wonderful place to learn about the history of the Palace. Very well maintained as well. A part of the palace was dedicated to Princess Diana and her fashion. The gift shop had very nice souvenirs related to the palace and the staff there were very friendly and attentive.
a. s.
fascinating explanation by meredith(from america she said😉)made my time, and exhibited items were really old which made them look so special and precious. visit here by using 'london pass' and i got interested about queen victoria's life til now.
p. p.
Stunning, great place steeped in history. Fantastic place. If you also plan to visit other palaces buy the annual card much cheaper.
B. K.
Closed even though the gate suggested it should be open.
E. R.
Very nice. A lot a cool stuff. Had an exhibition of all of Princes Diana's formal dresses and other clothing that she wore. My wife loved it.
M. S.
Absolutely loved my visit here. The highlight was The Diana exhibition, it was excellent. The whole layout was well thought out, contained lots of information and quotes from both Diana and celebrities. The dresses were displayed fantastically and you were able to take photos, no flashes but that was fine as pictures came out perfectly.
The rest of Kensington Palace was also great, again lots of info displayed and people to answer questions. Very knowledgeable and happy staff. The grounds were also very well kept.
Overall this place is fantastic and I highly recommend a visit.
h. s.
Place where the young generation of Royal family resides. To view inside the palace you will have to buy tickets. The Sunken garden inside the Palace premises is free. They have the best parks (Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens) with lot of must visit places Like Princess Diana's Park, serpentine gallery, and lot more. You can spend a whole day with family or friends, take your pets for long walks and connect with the nature. It's an amazing experience.
D. G.
The Kensington Palace is a great place in which you can see the place in which the Queen Victoria bornt, that palace is really beautiful and amazing. Also you can take a rest in the park near to the Palace. You can sit on the grass while gooses and ducks play and walk around the lake.
R. B.
Very interesting palace, with a self-guided walking tour of the (small portion) publicly accessible former quarters.
Staff is generally very helpful, but other than a few "quick bits", mini lectures at specific times in certain areas, there isn't any sort of a guided tour, and the information posted on each room, while interesting, isn't very lengthy or detailed. I recommend buying the guidebook, to fill this gap.
After your tour, stop into the Cafe for some tea or a quick bite. On weekends, it will be quite crowded, but still interesting.

All the regnal numbers are for English King's And Queens even if they were also Scottish. William. 3 and Mary 2 should be 1 and 1! As well.

We wish you Peace, prosperity and kindness for 2021. As it is mid-year, with the historical passing of Prince Philip @ age 99, yet the renewed joy of the birth of Lilibet- the Future is bright. I am a huge fan of the European Monarchy- in particular decades of Princess Diana and know that the Spirit within her will pass on through the birth and carry forth by the Queen. Absolutely worth the wait and I would do it again in a heartbeat. You need to arrive by 9:15 if you're going to be in the front row near the fence. If you don't you will be pushed out of the way and you won't be able to see anything. They have turned it into quite a two hour show for tourists which is wonderful.
A. W.
If you are a fan of Princess Diana, you absolutely must visit Kensington Palace! February 24th, 2017 was the opening day for a special exhibit "Diana: Her Fashion Story", which displays 26 iconic dresses through various periods of her life. It highlights the progression of her style from "Shy Di", to a fashionista. The exhibit is free with a ticket to the palace and will be open for at least a year.
While the exhibit itself was great, the flow inside was not. It was cramped, and had places with bottlenecks. That's why the queues move so slowly.
Tip: Arrive early to avoid the queues. And, purchase your tickets in advance, not only to avoid disappointment, but because it's slightly less expensive too.
Also, check out the gift shop where you can purchase a special edition of Harper's Bazaar, only available at the palace, for £4.50.
A. S.
A wonderful half day spent. The palace gardens are incredibly green. There are multiple entrances to the palace. So be sure to check out where you want to enter from. We walked for about 20 minutes enjoying the greenery and the pond. The palace itself is majestic. A London pass helps you get in quickly. Diana's clothes on display and a section of the palace dedicated to little girls dressing up as princesses with wigs was the best that my daughter enjoyed. The staff are sweet and friendly. The place is very child friendly.
B. A.
Kensington park is my number 1 park in London. I enjoy going there to feed birds and setting there on the Round Pound enjoying the view.
J. H.
Kensington Palace is a beautiful place filled with history! My favorite was the Diana exhibit which included many of the beautiful dresses and other pieces of clothing she wore during her life. The outdoor gardens were beautiful!
E. B.
Lovely park grounds. We were there on Saturday morning and it was full of happy dogs, running around off-lead. 🐕 The part of the palace open to the public and the Diana exhibition were a bit smaller than I expected but still worth a visit.
L. N.
Very interesting, Princess Diana wedding dress was great to see, lovely to see her statue which is also free to see by everyone, you only pay to go in the palace
M. L.
It was pouring with rain the day we went. The closest station was closed due to signal failure so we had to walk quite a bit before we got in. The restaurant is closed so our 1st pit stop had to be the cafe which is part of the souvenir shop. Not very big so it was ramed with everyone wanting to do the same thing. Felt pressure to drink up & vacate quickly due to the hoards of people wanting to sit down for their refreshments. We went specifically for the Diana exhibition & although I enjoyed it..it's not got a huge collection..only 25 outfits & a few significant outfits we expected to be there... wasn't. It doesn't feel like a "palace" more like a stately home. Gardens r beautiful so maybe go back in the summer
K. N.
Lovely treat for my raffle winners of my business raffle.
Lovely Afternoon Tea, highly recommended.
A. D. T.
Not as ornate as Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle but if you enjoy history it's worth visiting. No guided tours of any kind not even audio. Disappointing. At this time July 2018 can only see the Diana exhibition of her dresses and how her style changed as she became less shy. And then the Queen's staterooms and King's staterooms. Remember this is a current residence of William and Harry. So rest of palace is off limits.
However one can take photos inside (no flash) which is prohibited at other palaces and castles.
K. L.
Kensington Palace is located on the grounds of Kensington Gardens. It was the official residence of Diana, Princess of Wales. I got there by getting off at Queensway Station and proceeding south.
There's a Princess Diana memorial in the Kensington Gardens. The real-life fairytale story with Diana has always been a fascination for my wife.
K. S.
Nice place to visit.
C. V.
Me and my friend visited Kensington palace and at the beginning it we had problems getting in as since the new systems they have, you can no longer pre book tickets as an art fund member. When we arrived in the morning we where told by the nice ticket lady we couldn't get in until late afternoon. We explained that due to our schedule we couldn't make that time and also we couldn't book tickets for the next day as an art fund member, which isnt the staffs fault but the new system that has been put in, which I would like to say is unfair to penalise people because they are an art fund member. We where able to speak to the manager who was very understanding and explained she could take us in. We where so grateful and felt privileged that someone understood our predicament. The palace is really beautiful and the other staff that work at Kensington palace where very informative and friendly. I would like to thank all the staff there for making the morning a good one. We also got to see Diana's wedding dress.

Beautiful pleasant place to visit n have a nice weekend walk through the park n along the lake side with friends n family and palace is beautiful n with an entry ticket. And get amazing pictures clicked if you r photo addict.
s. k.
A nice palace surrounded by vast and wide garden in the central of London city. Not as crowded and touristy as Kensington palace. I did not get the chance to see the inside of the palace though, only strolling around its garden so I can't comment on the inside of the palace
N. L.
The best place to find out more about queen Victoria and her life as a mother, wife and monarch...
If you want to enjoy the gardens than come and visit in spring.
You can visit through the day because it is not so crowded.
After the palace enjoy in a beautiful Hyde Park.
D. T.
Nice palace, park, and garden. I recommend people to bike around here. It's pretty relaxing. Would definitely come back.
E. S.
There’s admission fees, but still, lots to see. If you like Princess Diana u might wanna pay a visit.
G. K.
Amazing time with swans and other kind of birds around, great palace with garden, perfect time to spend out.
N. (.
Eternal beauty...great piece of history...stunning collection of paintings .Absolutely to visit!
D. R.
Of all the castles we visited Kensington Palace is our favorite. The interior decoration is amazing, the garden is beautiful, very picturesque. The cafe has snakes and limited food. The park next to the palace is beautiful and clean.
A. F.
Although I visited Kensington Palace in winter, it is better to visit this place during spring time. The gardens that sorround the Palace are really gorgeous and the green of nature and the variety of colours provided by the flowers give to this place a perfect background for any type of photo. Inside the palace you will find nice painted halls with fantastic portraits of well known members of the royal family. Plus some dresses from centuries ago. Maybe you can ask for more displays of elements but I think it is ok.
The souvenirs shop is mainly for women and children. Just a few items for men. The area dedicated to Princess Diana is by far the best of this place.
K. A.
The staff was friendly, and very inviting. They had a nice EASTER hunt where the child was rewarded in the end with a small Lindt chocolate Easter bunny. My family loved this exhibit.
D. L.
Amazing Palace to visit in the heart of London! Loved the walk around and will definitely visit again in summer, still great walk in any season!
C. -. D. -. W. S. (.
Amazing !!! Check it out! Will definitely be back !!!

Kensington Palace offers a glimpse into the lives of its past royal residents. Discover stories from Queen Victoria's life in the Victoria Revealed exhibition; master courtly games in the King's State Apartments; glimpse a modern princess in an exhibition of Diana's dresses; and uncover the secrets of a fragile dynasty in the Queen's State Apartments.
D. L.
Great spot for walking between Kensington and Queensway, where the latter has plenty of restaurants. Takes about 15 minutes and it's worth the trip especially with kids.
H. R.
Loved it. Staff so friendly and helpful. We arrived on wrong day and no problem for supervisor in booking office to change entrance to the day we actually arrived. We'll done.
a. p.
Fantastic place for families. Great playgrouds, monument of Queen Victoria wch was made by her doughter. Beautiful Sunken Garden.
M. D. G.
Kensington Palace is a beautiful royal home with amazing paintings and ceilings. We went to see the Diana dresses and the knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff made it a memorable experience and a great opportunity to remember that time in our own lives :)
C. V.
Absolutely stunning palace! Loved the tour around the state rooms and learning all about Queen Victoria and her early years spent there. Would highly recommend a visit for the whole family.
B. E.
Original royal residence of William and Mary built shortly after the Glorious Revolution. Not the grandiose type of palace like Hampton Court but a bit more reserved. Many beautifully painted ceilings and 17th century works of art. Victoria lived here and they have players walking about in period costume with which you can interact and learn. You can also enjoy high tea near the Orangerie with wonderful sandwiches, scones and cakes. Afterward you can enjoy Hyde Park, which is like the palace's back yard. Worth a visit!
D. P.
Brilliant but I went to see lovely dresses and they were sadly lacking. I did see Diana's wedding dress but expected more.
k. n.
Another royalty residence?? They have a guided tour inside plus a cafe. We didn’t take the tour though. But a great environment to have a cuppa. Looking at the garden, the green park and blue sky is marvelous.
B. K.
The palace where Victoria spent her life. Contains various artifacts from her childhood to her death. Most importantly, some of her jewelry is exhibited here.
E. E.
We had such a nice visit at the Palace. The exhibits about Diana, Queen Victoria, and other Royals that lived there were informative and interactive. Would definitely recommend!
J. L. R.
We went there for afternoon tea, and it was a magnificent experience! Very nice atmosphere and super polite staff. A large selection of teas. The food was greats. Remember to skip lunch, if you go for the full deal! Nice view overlooking the gardens.
D. H.
Really enjoyed the walk through Kensington Palace. Learned a good bit about Queen Victoria. It is not too big so can move through it fairly quickly, maybe an hour or 2. Currently it is hosting an exhibit on Queen Victoria and it does an excellent job of explaining how much influence She has on Europe and the larger commonwealth. The sunken gardens are very nice but they do not allow people in them, you can only view them from the walk way around it.
A. K.
A lovely heritage site, filled with history and beautiful gardens all around it. A peaceful spot right in the middle of London, that makes you feel that you are in a country side, while being in the center of a fast paced metropolis. The location is amazing, perfect for walking around Kensington gardens, while still close to hyde park. While on the other side you get to Kensington high Street, a busy shopping area. Kensington palace and it's surrounding is almost always filled with tourists, which makes it hard to enjoy the scenery and the gardens. But on a nice summer day, this is definitely one of the best spots to enjoy the sun.
M. S.
I spent an enjoyable 3 hours here looking at the Diana dress exhibition and the various rooms.
Lots of history all well explained by a short poster as you enter a room, red books with more detail in each room and very enthusiastic knowledgeable 'explainers' if you have any questions.
Great gift shop and Cafe ( accessible even if you don't tour the Palace).
Small formal Diana sunken garden to walk around.
And of course you get to see the outside of where William & Kate and their children live as well as Harry and Meghan and a few other minor Royals as they all live at the back of Kensington Palace!
K. W.
I didn't go inside but the location is wonderfully peaceful and historic. If the weather is nice it's a must see!
F. M.
It is not very good. The rooms are simple and empty. Currently, there is an exhibition about Diana and the movie The Favourite.
A. G. D.
So beautiful. In the heart of it all. Walk through go into the orangery. If your lucky you will see Prince George and baby Charlotte in their knickers.
T. B.
Nice place for walk
A. T.
Wonderful part of the Historic Royal Palaces collection of visitor attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed the live interpretation or reenactment of Queen Anne's relationship with the Duchess of Marlborough, Sarah Churchill. Also brilliant family friendly workshop with the fantastic Brenda Coyle in the Clore Learning Centre which can only be accessed by special invitation only.
E. H.
Kensington palace is so beautiful and regal. It is tranquil and peaceful, if you want to be. It has a nice pond, palace, statues and greeneries. The ducks, geese and other aviaries live there happily. They even pose for your pictures. LOL! Huge complex. Visit the Sunken Garden, you will love it!
j. e.
Didn't go in as it was a bit pricey and wanted that money to go to something with a little bit more history - Westminster Abbey.
The Sunken Garden was an unexpected delight.
There was enough to see as it is in the west end of Hyde park...itself a grand place to visit...afterwards we walked over to Notting Hill and the Portabello Market.
P. D.
Great place. Lady Diana's wedding dress is on show until 1st January
A. M.
Kensington Palace is a stunning building with so much history that practically oozes out of the walls in the building. The guides are great, and it's definitely worth listening to any of the talks that take place. Queen Victoria's life spent there is so fascinating, and the architecture is so amazing. Quite busy, especially during peak tourist season, so definitely worth booking in advance for both their standard entrance and their special exhibitions.
N. L.
It was interesting. I mean historic home and mansion tours has never been my thing but my wife liked it. Lots of cool rooms to check out. The princess Diana special exhibit was a hit. Not sure how long that will be there though. Staff is knoweledgable and able to answer a lot of questions. There is a room about halfway through with old games and activities in it that were amusing. Overall it was a decent hour or so spent. The Kensington Gardens also make for a pleasant walk.
E. D.
Most of Kensington Palace is about Queen Victoria and her childhood, very interesting it is too.
K. H.
This was an amazing experience. First thing you see is the sunken garden with the statue, the flowers were so lovely and viberant. Then in to the palace and into three dresses and wedding gown. It was beautiful sight! Then you can go and look around the palace where there was clothing in then there was jewels they were amazing. We then went and had tea and cake. The best part of it is you are free to roam around the are plenty of staff so if you want any information you can ask them.
O. R.
The park is beautiful during the summertime, Kensington garden is gorgeous as well... there was some construction happening but didn’t diminish the hype too much. It would’ve been nice for the gift shop to carry more princess Diana souvenirs.
J. K.
Lovely piece of British history, nice and calm place to spend a time here. The park is large and green. The palace is well-maintained and beautiful.
Recommended to visit 👍🏻
S. M.
Not a bad place for a picnic can get quite crowded with visitors but generally you can find a nice patch of grass to relax on. Its a huge park so walking yourself or your dog is a good option if you have some time to kill and would like to get away from the busy high street roads
C. H.
Absolutely beautiful place. Grounds has huge park with ponds and walking trails. Despite tons of people, it's so open and the most peaceful place in London.
G. H.
The historical content was highly interesting and the staff fully informative. Catering facilities were more than adequate for snacks.
C.
I visited on the anniversary on Lady Di’s death. It was a touching and sombre Sunday. Had tea and cake afterwards though :)
J. W.
I like the garden and the palace. The bikes are restricted to enter the palace region. The tour in the palace is well-designed. I like the state rooms showing the stuff used by royal members. Especially, the Diana's stuff makes me to recall a lot of images from my deep memory. Many old ladies come to visit the exposition and say "She is so beautiful" when entering each room.
There is a souvenir shop at the exit of the Diana's exposition. The price is amazing high~~, so, I just keep my memory to be invaluable, lol. I went to Paris for the last point of Diana as well, in memory of my young ages. Because, the related news were around our life many years ago.
D. K.
Nice place, the Diana exhibition is worth seeing , but the tickets on site are terribly overpriced , 7£ difference with online tickets , but you can only buy online at least a day in advance. A bit disappointed to be honest.
B. P.
London is a city know worldwide for is unrival parks and Kensington Palace's Royal Park is just unbelievably stunning, the beautiful trees vast space and several other monoment. The serpent river, the round pond and the beautifully people
F. C.
The exhibition of Princess Diana was a must visit place. Pity that not many stuff there. If you are the Fan, its a wonderful place to miss her....
J. M.
A fun place to tour when you're in London and way to get a history of the monarchy. We were in awe of the decor and each room was different and it was so beautiful!
M. B.
Absolutely worth a visit! You get to see a lot for the price of one ticket. It's fun to imagine their life back then.
If you purchase your ticket online, make sure you arrive on time and not too early. I arrived 40 minutes early and had to spend almost 15 minutes in the queue so I could get the ticket changed to an earlier time.
The Diana exhibition was totally amazing. You get to see so many outfits and learn so much about the meaning of certain colors, styles and fabrics. I teared up a few times reading about Diana.
J. C.
A very enjoyable visit
B. C.
A huge park for the kids to play and run around, nice playground with Merry-go-round, a small lake for families to enjoy, away from the busy and overcrowded London city (for little children). Of course there is the Kensington palace to visit, the cafe next door and the Sunken garden where princess Diana enjoyed regularly.
J. J.
James the tour talker was absolutely full of information, history and said he loves his job.
R.
Very nice and not very long visit, you hear about the history of the palace and it's accesible
H. I.
Absolutely stunning❤️Kensington sunken gardens and surrounds are breathtaking and open to the public. A lovely way to spend an afternoon❤️
S. T.
The Palace was nice to go see and check out, however, you don’t really get to see a whole lot of it. There is some interesting artwork and descriptions of the rooms and people that lived there. I was a bit underwhelmed, honestly. Gardens hadn’t yet bloomed, but I’m sure they’ll look amazing in a few weeks. We spent less than an hour walking through, checking out the art and reading the descriptive signs, as we had missed the first tour by half an hour. Maybe the tour would be more informative? Tours were spaced out every 3 hours, which wasn’t helpful. You can’t go drink tea for 3 hours in the gift shop waiting for a tour to start. Glad our tickets were included in the London Pass. Priced a bit high for what you get.
N. G.
Very enjoyable experience, interesting to see things from Victoria's life and learn about her childhood, education and family life. It takes about two hours to see everything, if not less, depending on how much time you want to spend exploring. One way route is in place with hand sanitizers everywhere. It is not crowded as you need to pre-book a time slot before the visit and they allow 6 to 10 people in a room, depending on its size. Tickets are reasonably priced, though mine was with a discount, so it was well worth it.
R. G.
Lovely place for a relaxing walk away from the busy city, plenty of greenery to lose yourself in, and some lovely animals!
e. t.
Excellent day. Vast amounts of history enacted in these walls. Well organised exhibitions. An great cream tea to finish.
D. P.
A bit short tour, but understandable in these days. Great to see Princess Diana's weddingdress
V. A.
I visited Kensington palace and garden. This well maintained and close to Kensington Highstreet underground station.
Kensington park is very big and artificial lake is created. Environment is very clean in this park.
People use this park for doing exercise and relaxing.
G. F. (.
Splendid house with relics of the Victorian age inserted in a wonderful park. Excellent organization and courtesy of all the staff.
G. J.
A pleasant hour inside the Palace, although we didnt do a guided tour. The garden is beautiful.
D. C.
Beautiful place to visit, while also wandering around Hyde park, take a picnic and relax for a hour or two while the children play in the lady Diana water fountain.
i. g.
I felt it was on the small side, Lady Diana's collection was impressive, I don't think the cost reflects what I had seen, if I hadn't had a 241 voucher, I would felt it was on the overpriced side
M. M.
The gardens were pretty! The palace itself was okay, interesting to see. Don't plan on spending more than an hour here unless you stay in the gardens/park for longer.
H. F.
What I like Kensington Palace most were the varieties of cute animals there in the Palace Park areas. Particularly those grey Squirrels who didn't scare of Human beings at all, were so gorgeous and active. There were many swans, ducks, as well as birds in the Round Pond area too. A paradise indeed. A few pictures here.
C. D.
Wonderful experience today. Been many times but today was very special. Loved the Diana statue, and her wedding dress was exceptionally well displayed. Great afternoon tea and good choice in gift shop. All staff very friendly, courteous and attentive.
A. H.
There is a history of queen Victoria and king Albert , Lady Diana's dresses and a garden in the side of the palace.
The ticket is 24 pounds for adult.
Worth to see inside.
E. B.
Give yourself a couple of hours to cruise through. We did a self guided tour and bypassed the garden. Nice palace, I'd take it.
J. W.
Wonderful day out with beautiful photo opportunities! The sunken garden is riddles with fairy lights so I can imagine is a must-see at night and I will certainly be returning to see that!
J. D.
Closed on the day we visited. So check the opening hours if you intend visiting the Palace grounds which are free to walk around when open.
D. G.
Nothing special compared to Windsor Castle. Family photos are interesting
J. A.
If you love the history of Queen Victoria you will love this place. The garden and adjoining park is beautiful.
J. M.
It was great to visit a historic park, but there wasn't a lot of exhibits inside except Princess Diana's beautiful gowns. Other rooms in palace not very interesting. The gardens and pond outside were beautiful and fun to sit and watch the ducks, geese and swans. When we were there it was a beautiful day.
M. A.
You will see the extraordinary footage of Queen Victoria. Her jewelry, love letters to Alpert. Her small outfits. So much to see
K. P.
Arrived just after they stopped admitting visitors but the guy on the main door asked if we’d seen the new Diana memorial statue. And to quickly rush in for a look. How nice of him considering they were closing. 👍👍
M. V.
Very well-done exhibits and intriguing look into the lives of royals, past and present. COVID-19 measures were taken.
H. W. H.
Nice place to explore. There is a lot of information about Queen Victoria, especially her childhood.
M. S.
My children and I really enjoyed this
2.
Not as good as I was expecting. Some rooms had next to nothing in them. Some just had a few paintings of people who we have never heard of. Some nice bits, Diana's dress, the queen mums dress and the play house, amazing. As for the cafe, £23 for 2 Luke warm Panini and 2 drinks. You expect to pay over the top but, really. The Diana statue in the garden was good, looked much better than on the TV.
N. L.
Please, if you’re a student, take advantage of the student pricing!!! Bring your STUDENT ID, it helps lower the price a bit if you’re buying at the door. I would highly recommend buying tickets online.
This palace is BEAUTIFUL. You’ll see the Princess Diana exhibit which I was amazed by. They only show you a small part of the palace but that’s okay. Make sure you take your time reading the information displayed for you when touring the palace to learn about its history.
At the end, there’s a nice garden as you exit the palace.
W.
Had a fantastic experience, it was my son's young writer's celebration day He was chosen as the best young writer of 2019/2020.beautifully decorated palace with all the precious memories of great kings ,queens and specially Princess Diana the Queen of our hearts.. love her ...we all are planning to visit again as it was a short visit earlier this month, and looking forward to do a little picnic in the palace gardens(if allowed)and buy some souvenirs from the shop inside palace...would Recommend to all...

I visited the house a couple of years ago and loved it. I wouldnt take a small child though.
The gardens are lovely and seeing the statue of Princess Diana, in mid July 2021, was a happy experience.
The cafe is good but not very big.

This was an amazing palace to visit, rich in history. It took me back in time. Thanks to the Royal family for allowing us to see and experience what it's like to be inside Kensington Palace.

It looks nice from inside but nothing much inside apart from couple of rooms. The Kensington garden is good, the water body has some friendly birds to watch. Entry is paid. Only the Diana clothing section was a attractive one. Overall okay.

Beautiful palace inside a huge green area. Hyde park is very near and you can enjoy a walk. great architecture, beautiful spirit and feelings especially when you walk through the garden on the side of the palace. Peaceful environment worth a visit.

We missed the whole Victoria section somehow. If you visit make sure you ask one of the wardens as there were no signs for this part of the Palace. Mostly empty rooms, with a random array of paintings and little furniture. There were some sound scapes but with no explanation or info. Don't over look the Room Guides (bound burgundy boos on stands) which gives you some information about what you're looking at. Our visit was improved by the temporary exhibition and taster talk in the Queens section. Must say staff were very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Nice place to spend few hours enjoying the afternoon sun... If rain don't come. Having a cuppa is always nostalgic in garden setting.

This is a beautiful building housing a fabulous exhibition of Diana's dresses and Queen Victoria's tiaras. Even the staff have an air of grandeur about them!!

Good visit, Queen Victoria items and locations were excellent and moving. Diana clothes were also there and they added a lot.

Staff were professional and helpful. Was definitely not built for the summer heat. Having the standing fans did kind of spoil the vintage feel. Diana dresses were very well exhibited.

Beautiful! Loved all exhibits on Young Victoria. It was amazing to see Princess Diana's wedding dress as part of a special exhibition

We attended Queen Caroline's garden party, which gave the day interest, playfulness and fun. Without the garden party, the palace would have been dull. All it is, essentially, is several large empty rooms with not-paricularly-briliant renaisance art; two, hundreds-of-years-old faded tapestries; the minimum amount of furniture to demonstrate it was a home, & lots of porcelain pots. For eg: one room with only a bare table, two chairs and a painting on the wall, was described as "where the king and Queen ate their meals".
The fashion display of what mostly Queen Elizabeth II, and Diana wore, was the most interesting part of the palace.

We had a lovely time at Kensington palace. We saw the statue of Dianna and 3 children, viewed from a distance as you weren't allowed near it which was a shame. We also saw princess Margaret wedding dress and of course princess Diana's and without those terrible creases it was lovely it had diamantes running down the extremely long train. There is a cafe with expensive food and drinks example a egg and cress sandwich and a cold drink £8.00 the gift shop had some lovely items from jewellery to a mug. Also the huge lake with hundreds of beautiful swans.
It's well worth a visit.

Absolutely beautiful palace with lots to look at and see. There are lively and engaging staff who obviously have a love for history and the palace and share their knowledge with great passion. It is also a bargain to get in, £15.50 for adults and £12.30 for students and oaps.

Brilliant family craft workshop during half term... always check out their website to see what's going on. We designed and made our own George ll costumes today, running this workshop rest of the holidays.🌈✨🌈✨ ... with artists Brenda Coyle 🌼 and Holly Dabbs 🌼

One of the best tours of London's history! It's a must do! Definitely make time to visit the sunken garden after the tour! And the tiaras are unbelievable!
