S. R.Right up my street. In depth, detailed, dry or humorous, often political art retrospectives and group shows. Shortly to become private artists studios for a while before returning as a gallery. Peaceful and stimulating. Great taste, with the skills and budget to pull off complicated shows.

s. w.One of the most interesting independent galleries in London. It can also be found in my book Quiet London. A good place to reflect on wider themes and not just on contemporary art.
N. T.Contemporary art gallery run by Alex Sainsbury. This non-commercial gallery is pretty influential on the UK art scene. The gallery is set over 3 floors of a beautiful 18th century house. The last show i visited they were providing good quality catalogue books of the exhibition for free.
T. T.Showcasing unconventional artists , mostly a bit more historic modern than the usual galleries. Amazing venue restored by well known architect which itself is a gem.

N. F. A. C. P. a. D.Striking space, in east London this is my favourite so far. Huge space inside, spreading over several floors. Beautiful architecture and light.
