Reviews of Twinings - The Strand
B. T.
This historic shop has many different types of tea available (vs what you would find in most supermarkets), and a couple displays on the history which is informative too.
J. W.
Absolutely stunning tea shop on the strand. It is the oldest in all of London and features a wide range of different teas. The staff is super friendly and lets you try teas as well
C. L. (.
Lovely staff which was very friendly. Unfortunately the new interior design takes away the old British atmosphere of the brand corporate design. The tea bar in the back offers free tea samples.
O. B.
This is so much better than Fortnum and Mason! First of all i think they just have a better selection. Plus it's not nearly as crowded, and you have plenty of time to smell the teas and they brew whatever you like upon request so you can taste the tea before buying it. Great customer service and great tea! Will definitely come back.
B. M.
Great experience. Nice little educational displays and plenty of sniffable samples. Couldn’t resist getting a tasting cup of this Orange Grove Black tea made up for me by the very helpful and informative Mark. If you’re into tea (or would like to be) this is a wonderful way to pass some time.
C. J. G.
Famous tea store.
S. D.
Super helpful and friendly staff. Helped me select some amazing falvours of tea. 10/10 would recommend ☺️
A. H.
A great place steeped in history!! If you can do the Tea Masterclass, do it was very interesting and very tasty!

My friends and I traveled to London last week and the tea shop was one of our highlights of this trip! We were in the shop for nearly an hour, tried many different tea flavours and chatted with the staff, who would tell us every detail about the making of the specific flavours and the leaves/flowers used. We ended up buying a lot of different teas and I can definitely recommend their jasmine jade butterfly one, it’s now my favourite green tea to drink.
Loved the experience! Greetings from Germany
P. M.
I love going into Twinings and always go home with a tea I haven't had before. You can taste new teas if you wish, freshly brewed, to see if you like it before you buy. The friendly staff will advise on which tea is best if you use other types of milk eg oat milk.
K. H.
Such a lovely shop for this tea lover to stumble into while on a walk around London! They have an amazing selection of both specialty and more commercial Twinings tea varieties available for purchase. Really enjoyed the tasting at the back of a few different loose leaf blends, that I of course wound up purchasing! Great spot to pick up a gift if you are traveling through!
S. D.
Super helpful and friendly staff. Helped me select some amazing falvours of tea. 10/10 would recommend ☺️

This amazing little shop is not to be missed if you like tea (and even if you don't!). It's tucked away against two much larger buildings, and is a treat to see from the outside. They have upgraded since my last visit (Spring of 2019) and I haven't seen the new decor, but it's always been amazing! The teas are great, Bollywood Chai is hands down the best tea I have ever had. The staff is knowledgeable and kind, and will help you pick out something new to try! I always visit every time I'm in London, and I'm looking forward to the end of this pandemic so I can visit again. 10/10 would recommend!
C. M.
Lovely shop with the friendliest staff. They offer a tea tasting service to help you decide what you want and are very patient. I work nearby and get a 10% discount which is a lovely incentive. Great selection of teas in a wide range of prices and great customer service. Heaven for tea lovers!!
R. A.
I came across this shop while exploring the area. I love this brand and i was so happy to find this small shop. It’s a nice shop the fragrance from the scented teas is enchanting. The ladies working there were very nice and friendly. Would definitely go back again to buy gifts for family and friends.
B. F.
The staff here have a contagious enthusiasm for tea! I seriously popped into Twining's with scepticism but let committed to explore the hundreds of tea varieties and blends that I had never thought existed. When you enter, you must try the unique rotation of samples that they provide. It's a small and not overwhelming store, and it's not really a museum; it's just a place where the salespeople really love to talk about tea. It you're not a tea drinker, they do sell some coffees, but they're not so famous, and this shop may not be for you. Even if you like tea, your family will forgive you passing this shop up while on your walk between Trafalgar Square and St Paul's. But if it's your nth visit to London, and you like tea, then I highly recommend this place
J. M. B.
They open in time. The aisle is narrow so please be kind to everyone trying to see and smell the different types of tea.
The clerks are kind and gentle.
Best teas, coffee you will find here for certain.
You may try teas in the back, and also check out the museum they have.
D.
Cute little store with a small museum included. (you get a free tea for tasting)
The employees are very friendly and welcoming.
They have a very wide product range and it is even possible to purchase single bags of tea.
Prices are totally ok.
F. P.
I love Twinnings tea and taking home plenty. I also got a Xmas ornament for my collection. Their offers tasting. The staff's very knowledgeable and very nice
H. M.
My husband and I loved stopping at twinings whilst on our trip to the UK. Love the different flavors and types of tea on offer! Wish we got a bigger range in South Africa. Definitely pay twinings a visit - you wont be disappointed!
B. S.
Neither good nor bad. Pros: The store has a lot of tea to choose from, information on the history of tea, and a cool historic location. Cons: no places to sit and enjoy (no bathrooms either), have to buy individual bags in bulk, just one more person besides yourself makes the place "crowded". Probably best for pop-in and pop-out shopping.
J. W.
You can almost miss the narrow frontage but hey, once you're in the shop it is a real Pandora's box.The oldest tea shop in London and their flagship store. Sample new flavours and check out the museum at the back of the shop
B.
This is where it all began for Twinings Tea Shop at 216 Stand in Westminster. You can visit the original location, which now serves as both a shop and a museum providing a history of the Twining business and its famous tea.
Founder, Thomas Twining bought the small property on the Strand, called Tom's Coffee House in 1706 during a period when coffee drinking ruled the day in London. Tea drinking became more fashionable during the early 18th century and Twinings was well-positioned to benefit from the rapid growth in demand for dry tea from that point in time forward.
Inside the original Twinings Tea Shop there are portraits of members of the Twinings family who helped run the business over the past three centuries. You can see old vintage tea packages, boxes and advertisements. On the outside of the front door, its worth taking a look at small statues of the Chinamen and golden lion, which represent the origins of tea and the tea trade.
Of course, you can also find many selections of tea and watch (or participate) in tea brewing and tastings taking place near the back of the shop. If you are a tea drinker at home or have tea drinkers in the family, this is a very good shop to stop and pick up a souvenir to bring back home with you.
The Twining Shop is a small and narrow property, located along The Strand across from the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand.
j. b.
"Twinings" have been trading from this location since 1706 while the distinctive narrow shopfront and portico dated from the early 19th.Century is Grade II Listed features 2 sitting "Chinamen " indifferent to the imperial gilded lion reclining between them.
Specialist in teas, accessories and associated items. Small attached museum here.
Staff professional, engaging and thoroughly... infusiastic !
M. W.
Always try to visit the shop when we're in London. Bought lots of leaf tea and the really helpful assistant made us 2 different brews, which helped our decisions. The Museum part is no more, artefacts and exhibits too precious, but the tasting area that has replaced it is stylish and inviting. A great place
C. B.
The Twinings shop is the oroginal Twinings coffee house so is a real piece of history. You can just go in the shop and buy the entire range of tea, but they do offer events and experiences. We did a 2 hour tea tasting and it was great! Informative and delicious., I have a new love for Oolong!!
S. S.
Incredible tea selection! I have been a huge fan of Twinings for years and was excited I got to visit the historical shop. A bit small, but makes up for it with a ton of tea. They also have samples of tea of any you would like to try. Friendly staff.
A. M.
As one of the Americans who did NOT callously toss tea into the Boston Harbor, I was excited to up my tea game. This store was charming, staff was witty and friendly. I got so many teas and infusions not available elsewhere. Expectations exceeded!
E. R.
I always enjoy stopping here while in London; the "pick and mix" teas are a particular favourite! Staff members are always knowledgeable and helpful.
L. c.
I came here for a tea tasting. You get to learn about history and tea language. It was a great experience! Highly recommend to come here and get to know a little bit of history.
C. J. G.
Famous tea store.
J. J. A.
Great store to get teas. A small museum and you can try different options before buying.
m.
Perfect for a gift!
I love the shop. So many different flavours of tea and infusion.
Twining is a brand of prestige. You go safe if you want to buy for someone that likes tea.
B. H.
Huge selection of tea and friendly staff. It's a tiny store, however. The museum is more a display cabinet but still well worth a visit
S. H.
If you're coming for some sort of museum experience, you're not going to get it. The store provides a brilliant selection of Twinings teas, including some produced for various international markets.
But my favourite bit is the tea tasting section at the back. It was manned by an extremely knowledgeable and friendly chap named Hans (apologies if if I've got that wrong) who was more than happy for people to select whichever teas they wanted to be steeped and let them try them to their hearts' content. For example, I'd never tried an oolong or a pu'er so Hans picked one of each, recommending that we end with the latter because of its aged nature and stronger taste.
If you want, you can also pick any one of the teas to take away for just £2. I feel like I've had to pay more for a substandard builder's brew elsewhere so this is an excellent feature.
The rest of the staff were equally enthusiastic about their jobs and great at what they did. I'd truly recommend a trip here.
C. V.
If you're looking for teas then this is the place. A wide range of different teas are available including the more unusual specialist types of tea. Some unique blends are also available. Their Assam and Keemun Mao Feng are beautiful and you can ask to try some before buying. A range of coffee is also available.
T. M.
The smell when you open the door is amazing, sweet, spicy ,coffee and tea of course.. Go down the back and do the tea tasting. After 1pm .They will brew any tea in the store to try and the Brew Master(my term) was a fantastic guy with a wealth of knowledge. Gunpowder Green and Grey Dragon Oolong so nice.
C. B.
This small shop offers a wide range of teas and they have wonderful offers, it's the perfect place to visit if you are a teetotal and it's perfect to buy presents for friends or family!! Staff are very professional and offer assistance to buy the what you fancy 😉😀👍
F. R.
They have a large selection of teas and infusions. I like the idea of buying individuals bags. They have a small tasting are in the back of the store. Had four delicious teas, 2 hot and 2 colds.
The only problem is that the store is really narrow (one straight corridor) and get crowed really fast.
The personnel are kind and helpful
A. S.
Amazing place where you can the various tea spots produced by Twinings.
C. C.
One of the London tourist’s attractions. Buying tea here is probably more expensive than a normal grocery shop. It’s a small shop and you can have a properly prepared tea inside.
P. N.
Found this store by accident as not your usual storefront but it sells teas of all types, pricing of their normal tea (breakfast, everyday, etc) same as supermarkets but gets more expensive the more exotic the tea is, Staff polite and knowledgeable, tastings were/are also on offer. Reviewed after covid lockdown lifted so some restrictions are/were in place.
C. b. A.
I love this place! Twinning's is my "go-to" place whenever I am visiting London. The staff is friendly and professional, I can stock up on all my favorite teas and enjoy a complimentary cup. To bad they are closed, I hope they open up soon, it's definitely worth checking out.
Y. S.
I love this place! Twinning's is my "go-to" place whenever I am visiting London. The staff is friendly and professional, I can stock up on all my favorite teas and enjoy a complimentary cup. Great place for a cup of real English Tea. At times you'll be lucky enough to see Paul McCartney, and The Queen Herself the Second (Queen Elizabeth II). Great excellent choices, customer service is good.
I was impressed by this beautiful tiny shop between the buildings. I remember I've bought some tea bags, one for each flavor (idk if it's still like this but you could choose the single tea bag.. it was nice).
So I was happily surprised seeing this shop is still there, even if I've come back to London more than 15 times I've never got back there...I will do it for sure next time. Now I've just told my daughter about this memory and we can't wait to visit it together, as she is 11 just like me the first time I've been at Twinings shop in London♥️
B. C.
The original Twinings shop, with a great selection of tea and friendly staff. The museum in the back is small, but full of interesting old tins and artifacts, and the staff are happy to interpret the history of the Twining family and their tea empire!
J. T.
Hidden between 2 giant buildings, Twinings is is such an interesting place to discover. Twinings sells a large selection of teas and infusions in a variety of ways: by the individual tea bag, by boxes of teabags or assorted boxes, or by weight of loose tea. The back section of the shop is a small museum where you can try sips of flavoursome teas bubbling in big glass vats. There are also a few high quality accessories, such as tea pots, tea measures and carry cups, for sale.
T. S.
Great assortment of teas, although the place is quite small and easily becomes crowded
D. T.
A Twinings Tea advent calendar sounds even better than chocolate!
N. P.
Really interesting range of teas, there's a tasting bar and multimedia history of the company very smart take on an historic business
F.
I've been here the first time I went to London, in 1999. I was 11 and I was impressed by this beautiful tiny shop between the buildings. I remember I've bought some tea bags, one for each flavor (idk if it's still like this but you could choose the single tea bag.. it was nice).

A.
Very beautiful place, really tasty tea, the service is good, prices are fine.
Love this place, recommended.
U. T.
The entrance is very tiny, so if you're not aware you can possibly keep on walking without noticing it.
Inside you can find lots of blends and numerous single tea-bags to try if you're undecided. Really worth to stop by, believe me
D. B.
I love tea and just had to stop by.It's a charming little store that sells a wide selection of Twinings tea.And has a tasting room in the back where you can enjoy a lovely cuppa.
V. C.
Went back to the shop after more than 10 months and found it renovated with few changes. Honestly, I didn't like the feeling, too the new. I liked the old atmosphere that made the shop more in character with the area and the long time they have been in business. And I forgot to ask if they still do the tea testing as they used to do before. Still like the variety of teas though.
L. P. E.
Excellent place with a great selection of teas. Lovely and very welcoming staff. I will go back to purchase more of their products.
L. S.
For the tea lover, it's a must buy in London. You will find a lot of exclusive tea only available here.
A.
Paradise for tea lovers :) Big variety of tea, you can buy excellent gifts and taste some tea while being here. Prices are not really big. You have to stop here when you are in London!
M. B.
Iconic shop of London, official store of famous tea.
L. D.
Best tea shop ever!!!!! The flavours are just out of this world!
In particular the 'Defense' and 'Glow' year are my favourite!
H. T.
This place is heaven for tea lovers! They have a large selection of teas and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.
P. S.
Lovely shop, in the same location for over 300 years, and of course with the oldest logo in the world still in use. Very helpful staff, and a great tea selection, however, not all of Twinings range can be found here (contrary to what I expected) - most likely due to limited space. There are some jewels to discover: make sure to check the selected loose leaf section at the back of the shop.
J. H.
Lovely selection of teas. They have a nice range of gift packs which you don’t always see elsewhere. You can do a tasting. Gets very busy, and the shop is very narrow.
M.
Incredible store with a historic background. Very experienced and kind staff. Possibility to try any tea before buying.
P. B.
I like their tea so much. Unfortunately, the prices here went up and you could buy the same for less at the duty free shops. That wasn't like that years ago.
O. M.
This place is amazing. A tea lover's dream. Try all the sample teas!
D. A.
Very helpful and friendly service, try before you buy, highly recommended
P. C.
Very friendly staff and the the oldest tea shop 17 century
R. G.
I always come here for the tea, my favorite type. They have a great selection of teas but the service was a let down. Nevertheless, I came here for the products. I suggest the staff should be a little nicer and improve their customer service skill.
G. G.
Great tasting teas and good store. Old place which creates a good atmosphere. Store is narrow, max 3 people could be double breasted in terms of width. But excellent teas. After 1 pm they do tea tastings as well with a dedicated attendant for that. Professional service and very nice too.
C. M.
As a tea and coffee fanatic, I was like a kid in a candy shop walking around this beautiful little shop! It is really small, which adds to the historical vastness this shop displays.
Lovely tea and coffee tasting at the end. Lots of tea, not so much coffee, but it is a tea shop. The only downside is you cant buy 2 or 3 separate tea bags, you have to buy 15 which is a bit disappointment. Nonetheless, would highly recommend!
T. K.
Can taste several teas in the store.
L. F. S.
Since 1706! Huge variety of products. Good staff.
S. C.
This shop was opened in 1717 and is genuine living history. I wouldn't be surprised if the had supplied the tea for the Boston tea party. The staff are experts at what they do. We were soon tempted to try out some new loose leaf tea. I bought one that smelt of chocolate!
M. L.
Very small space. But excellent selection, tastings, and interesting history. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Happy I went!
A. C.
The shop has many options for to buy. Differents flavours, coffee and biscuits! I recommend!
D. T.
Great shop with great selection of teas.
A. A.
Tiny great shop. Amazing staff, nice and different flavor of teas wirh nice taste and great aroma.
Always will buy to my mother and grandmother
R. M.
I visited the Twinings Shop in August 2017. Its a lovely little shop with a great range of different kinds of tea ( black tea, green tea, and so on). The tea isn't that expensive and tastes wonderful! If I am able to visit London again I will definitely go back to this shop!
I would recommend this shop to everyone who is tea addicted.
D. M.
The first tea shop in London. Still there since 1706. Great variety of teas - nice gift to bring from London. Although, some young lady - shop assistant a few months ago was not very attentive on the borderline with rude. Haven't seen her since, though. Otherwise - a great experience. A lovely little corner at the end - with some exhibits, representing the history of the Twinings' beginnings.
B. J. S.
Brilliant experiences, happy memories and plenty of knowledge from the staff. There are tea masterclasses run so hopefully when I get a chance I’d like to experience that. The items for sale are brilliant and the lovely flavours of the teas are spot on they change seasonally and with the added accessories like Chinese cups etc and coffee this is a experience you won’t want to miss.
R. W.
The staff was very knowledge about tea, and gave us a lot of info about the various teas.
c. f.
This is a super fun shop to visit, if your a tea-lover - or not, the staff are super friendly, when we visited, a friendly staff member explained the history of the tea that we picked and gave us multiple varieties to try. Would highly recommend, even if just to look at all the tea varieties they have, the walls are stocked full.
C. F.
The largest variety of Twinings tea you'll ever find. I am surprise Twinings, being a tea company from London, only has one store. Nevertheless, the store doesn't disappoint and offer a large variety of teas, coffee and utensils to be used in its preparation. You can also find tea boxes and fill them with tea bags, sold separately. In the back of the store, there is a small area for tastes and a mini museum, reflecting the company's story. Really worth visiting.
R. P.
Tea lovers paradise! Don't worry, they do coffee too. You can buy over 250 different types of tea, tasting each one before you make that all important purchase to ensure you have the right flavour for you. Also tea master classes can be booked here. Totally amazing.
S. R.
I'm a absolutely tea-lover.
In this little store are many tea's and u can smell on it and try it.
There are tea in tea bags and loose tea.
They have also some coffee beans and biscuits in their shop.
This is a must see for tea-lovers.
The staff was really friendly
S. K.
I love this store. It is basically a long corridor lined with teas. When you can buy Twinings in most supermarkets, why would you go here? Other than the variety (tea bags, loose leaf, teapots and cups) there is the tasting bar. They usually have 3 teas on the go for you to try, and will make you some of almost anything they stock so that you can try before you buy. There is also a tiny museum area if you're interested in the history of the company, and of tea in the UK. Visit them! (They also do guided tasting events, but I haven't managed to make it to one of these yet.)
B. I.
Being the original Twinings shop from 1706, it has a really vintage feel to it. You can find every available tea, chocolate or coffee flavour in it and more. There are also interesting gift sets and accessories for all your tea needs. The only downside is the premium in price that you will have to pay if you like something in the shop. Since it has so much history, everything in it is priced accordingly.
S. T.
We attended the Tea Masterclass hosted by Madeline. We must commend Maddie for a brilliant experience! Maddie presented an exciting history of tea, with mind-blowing facts. She was engaging and delivered the history with passion and exuberance! The tea tasting was equally fantastic, with Maddie demonstrating a professional tea slurp!
Maddie is great asset to Twinings. She has wealth of tea knowledge and is has a wonderfully, friendly and bubbly personality.
Thank you for such a memorable and happy experience.
B. G.
Very clean and neat here. Easy to walk through and choose out a bunch of tea you like. Can buy single bags if you reach a 15 bag minimum. Great way to try new stuff, they also have tea samplings.
V. T.
Most amazing tea experience! A must visit place. Amazingly helpful and informed staff makes it even better.
You can taste anything on offer to help you pick the right one.
Surely the highlight of our London visit. Special blends are bit expensive, but worth every last pence! Blew almost half of my budget there but not regret a pound!
A. B.
Such a lovely store! It’s such a nice place to consider all tea options and to smell before buying. I knew what I was getting but it was great to have the shop assistant (or manager?) to give their opinion on what they liked. Will come back as soon as I’m through my 4 tins!
M. G. G.
My family just recently did a Tea Party theme baby shower and ordered tea from Twinings Tea London. And, I have to say we could not have been more pleased with their selection of teas. The teas are of great quality and taste delicious. This is a great company, they provide the best customer service and their products are amazing. They have just won a customer for life. Thank you Twinings for assisting in making my baby shower an unforgettable event!
S. S. R.
Super cute, but more shop than museum. Great area and surrounding buildings.
A. G.
The original, the flagship. Stop in for tea tasting, smell the tea leaf samples, see the massive variety. If you want to bring home tea as a souvenir or memory, stop here. All staff was pleasant, engaging, patient, seem to take pride on what they do. Not as expensive as one might think.
M. P.
I always love it here and the staff is very friendly. Amazing selection. The limited space annoys me every time though. Great shop if you're a tourist, maybe slightly less so if you're just trying to buy your Twinings tea quickly.
J. M.
Huge selection of Twinings tea, both loose leaf and teabags. Limited edition/seasonal tea and coffee gifts are also widely available. The history aspect of this little shop is certainly just as great as the products it carries. I'd say this is an essential place to visit for those visiting London, even for those who don't enjoy tea (this could change your mind!).
S. M.
One of my favourite London places, skinny little hallway of a room filled with amazing teas and coffees! Always has great displays and good selection of brewed teas to try. Staff are pleasant and you can tell they like their job. They have an above average knowledge of the products they sell. Worth a look if just to get a glimpse into the history of Twinings Tea! Only downside, can get a bit overcrowded. Totally worth a bit of inconsistent contact!
K. R.
Having had a gift of a Twinings Tea Bag box with assorted tea bags, really wanted to visit so finally to get there absolutely loved it, the sweetest shop with lovely service and sampled the cold infusion fruit tea which was delicious. One jar purchased along with some teabag refills for my box. Highly recommend
R. B.
A tea connoisseurs heaven! Visit the brewing station towards the back of the shop to sample some delights
B. T.
A really pretty shop. The assistants are very kind. I love this shop! ❤️
D.
A lovely experience for the tea connoisseur!
As you enter the ambience & tea hits you whilst you peruse the various teas ranging from the basic breakfast to a more exotic fragrance of tea.
The rear of the shop provides the opportunity to sample some varieties & also ask the staff any questions to which their passion shows clearly as they answer.
Certainly worth a visit:)
D. R.
Really nice staff. Knowledgeable with the samples
K. I.
I love tea. I mean, I love, love, love tea. I'm a tea-aholic, and always have been. Whenever I find myself in London, I have to visit The Strand shop. Staff is always helpful and if you fancy a cuppa, pick a tea and they will brew it for you, the proper way. Get in early because the shop is quite tiny (corridor-style) and gets easily crowded.
A. L.
Amazing Twinings little shop with hundreds of tea flavours!
M. T.
While researching for my London trip, I read somewhere that this was both a tea shop and a museum. By museum, they really mean that they ha be a few relics on display in the back. Pretty unimpressive. It's really more of a tea shop. They do have a pretty large selection of tea though. Now that was impressive. The prices didn't seem TOO jacked up. Im sure you'd be able to find some of these in your local supermarket, but there were also some very exotic-sounding flavors. Great place to check out if you're looking for a nice souvenir.
A. P.
Fabulous place for tea lovers and also a great gift idea. The staff is very kind and extremely professional - I was amazed by one of the staff members's extensive knowledge about tea. Definitely a thing to visit in London
N. H.
A perfect place to buy some special British tea. They offer a big collection teas also some special types with hand rolled leaves and coffee with different aromas. Also a great place to buy a gift. But if you are looking for a place to sit with friends and drink some tea I prefer to go else where because there is not much space and it can be a bit crowded.
J. A.
I'm old enough to remember Brooke Bond Divided tea ☺ and that's what I was brought up on.
I knew tea came from the Far East but it was not until I walked into Twinings shop that I found this was far from the truth. Tea comes from many parts of the World and this shop has more blends than you can shake a stick at ☺.
If your not a big tea drinker than you can buy coffee or chocolate drinks and even malted drinks. They seem to cater for all tastes, which may explain why they have been around for 300 years😮.
They are open Monday to Friday from 9.30am until 7.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am until 6pm.
They also run tea master classes Monday to Friday from 10am until noon.
You need to book these 2 hour sessions in advance, full details on their website.
I can't give you a report on these sessions as I paid my visit on a Saturday 😕.
They have a tea bar which also serves most of the items they stock in the shop. They have a gift section, which along with their vast selection of drinks, can be bought online.
I enjoyed my visit and would recommend you pay them a visit while visiting the Capital.
M. S.
Great choice of tea and also freshly ground coffee. It is a tad expensive but you pay for Twinings quality. Great thing is that you can try the drinks at the bar. The shop is a bit narrow so avoid it when it's crowded!
L. C.
Me and my girlfriend visited the shop twice. First one yesterday and today the last one. On Friday we had a wonderful experience, the ladies there were really nice to us, always ready to help.
On the other hand, today, we had the worst experience. The guy who we paid to was really rude, not even a "hello" or "thank you". On top of this, he asked me to move behind the "desk" in a very rude manner, this desk is a table in the middle of the hallway were everybody comes and go, not too much sense there.
J.
You feel proper entering this shop, simply by the vibe it holds. It’s a quaint spot to explore all things tea! Definitely recommend when in London!
Also, there’s a massive Pret right next door to take a break if the Twinnings tea house is too full.
R.
Love love love! So many tea options the staff are great and if your stuck on what to buy they take their time with you and let you taste before you buy. They even have afternoon tea session which you can book in the summer!
C. C.
Small shop with a big selection that is consistently busy. For tea lovers, it's worth visiting the tea 'museum' that's located inside at the back-end of the shop. It's not big, but the artifacts are very interesting and well-preserved for the most part.
S. P.
This is like Mecca for tea lovers. In this little shop you can sample some tea and purchase loose leaves or bags of an extensive variety of teas. The staff will answer any questions you have about the history of Twinings or about tea in general. Overall, I'm happy to have come by.
C. H.
Still my favorite place to get tea! They have so many choices for such good prices!
B. L.
There are some special blended teas, which is quite tempting and interesting to a tea drinker like me. I've just bought 3 different teas, all taste good, would go again to try more.
m. t.
Shame the quaint basement artefacts room closed off to public now
F. O.
Great little place, home of a lot of the original tea discoveries by Twinings. Many many different types of teas, bagged, individual, bulk, loos leaf, international, you name it. You can go to the bar at the back and ask them to brew a fresh cup of ANY of the teas for free. And oh so cheap! 100 english breakfast bags for £5! Single bags £0.15 each!
K. M.
We had a wonderful time with the tea tasting. Professional staff and traditional location. The amount of teas available is awesome. If you're around just come along. It's definitely worth it.
C. H.
Very interesting small tea museum/ shop offers unusual & interesting boxed gift tea for sale. Some of them unique and only sold here. I have bought a few as presents for friends in other countries.
M. R.
The Twinings store on Strand has been in business for hundreds of years and for that reason it definitely is a place to visit as a tourist in the city. The store is small and quaint. My wife loves tea, so visiting the Twinings store was a real treat for her. We will absolutely go back next time we visit London.
N. B.
Awesome store for teas & try hot chocolate too :-)
T. “. V.
This has been on my tea-lovers bucket list for ages, so it was a "must visit" place on our trip to London. The staff were lovely, we got to try their festive tea blend, and I came away with even more tea for my hoard!
S. R.
A "must visit" for Tea aficionados .
Here you can find special edition of various tea flavors.
There's also a 'taste section' where you can try different tea, from lotus to black or early grey.
Payment is fast, credit card accepted.
P. B.
Great place to buy tea as gifts. It seems like you can find any type of tea that exists, in this little stylish shop. It is quite pricey, but in return you get quality tea.
C.
Obviously historical, do not expect more than a hallway full of tourists! I enjoyed my visit, but I was alone, super relaxed and with plenty of time. The place is ideal for smelling all the teas on the shelves but can get easily stressful due to the packed nature, it can feel quite claustrophobic
B. S.
Shop selling lovely teas from around the world. They sell single bags of exotic teas, so good if you need to pick some british tea up before going on holiday (I can't drink the tea they give you over seas).
D. J.
When it comes to my 4 o'clock tea I settle for nothing less than the best. That is exactly the reason that I visit Twinings on a regular basis. I am really conservative and usually have the same tea every time but for all those who like to experiment with theirs this shop offers the option to mix your own tea. The place itself is really small and rather charming. Would recommend it to anyone who likes tea the way it's ment to be.
A. V.
Tea lovers' paradise <3
P. L.
Twinings is one of the most famous brands on Earth. You'll be amazed whether you stop in for a cup of afternoon tea or if you're a connaisseur of fine teas.
A. A.
This shop has been selling tea for over 300 years and has a few displays about this history. This is a very small shop so best visited when it is not tea time.
There is a wide selection that will not disappont tea connoiseurs who won't mind the price. If you just like your tea with lots of mik and lots of sugar, it is still worth having a look inside, as this is a really nice looking shop, and drink somewhere else.
The tea bar is quite nice if the shop is not busy and you can actually have a good discussion with the staff.
A. R.
A lot of variety of teas, you can taste some of them, and the saleswomen are great, but the store is too narrow when there is a lot of people.
S. G.
This place is amazing if you want to get to know all the different varieties of tea this famous brand has. A nice visit to one of the english traditional beverages. They are also very friendly!
C. D.
Great little shop that's easy to miss if you blink as you walk by. The choice of teas is fantastic, I get my gunpowder green & Ceylon orange here, the small tins of loose tea are very practical. Took a work colleague from Kenya here who was most happy to find loose pure Kenyan tea, definitely put a smile on his face. A good place for visitors to London to pop in and buy the gift sets of teas.
J. V. E.
They give very good advice and service by choosing the best tea in the world. It's a small but cosy shop where you even can taste the teas. Best shop!
D. A.
Loved It! Such an experience!
R. v.
Very elaborate assortment of tea. Also the more expensive ones. You can make your own mix with a minimum of 20 bags. They also sell tea boxes and other attributes. There is also a tea tasting area and a small tea museum.
G. C.
Tea shop with the biggest selection of Twining teas, you won't find the number of Twining teas available anywhere else, including some very high end first flush Darjeeling. Little "museum" of the history of Twinings in the back, you can also request a sample of any tea they sell.
A. W.
It's a very small shop but full of teas!! I like their system which is pic up and mix many different tea bags. Price is also thoughtful. You can buy similer teas in the other supermarkets but more for gift and suvernior type of shop. If you like tea, good to have look!
E. H.
Large choice of teas. Friendly service, they offer to taste any tea of your choice. The shop is also very clean and well ordered. I love this place!
A. P.
I loved all the teas that are only available in this shop. It makes really cute souvenirs for tea lovers back home! Also if you've never tried buttermint, you're missing out.
S. C.
It's all about tea! Twinings has every type of common tea you could imagine. I'm partial to the English Breakfast in the big tins. Loose leaf of course.
I'd get your tea brewing supplies elsewhere but for a good cheap cup of tea, this place is great.
B. B.
Smaller than I thought, but still with an impressive selection of tea and coffee. I was looking for tin cans of tea bags, but they seemed to only have loseleaf in the tin. Smells good, though.
B. M.
Private function at the time of our visit made it impossible to purchase a tea or coffee to drink.
A nice and old original location though with a smaller selection than the Leicester square location
S. C.
Fantastic historical tea shop. Plenty to choose from. Tea tasting too. Well laid out. Fantastic treats to buy the tea lover as a gift from London. Highly recommended
L. V.
Perfect for tea lovers, the staff is super helpful especially when you are searching for a special tea or gift. You can also try most of the tea varieties for free. Store is small but very tidy.
G. K.
The original tea guys. Amazed by the choices and flavours this place offers. Each. Time a new one from a new place on Earth. Love the cold and iced teas...especially a great takeaway during Summers
R. M.
Love this place! Always pop in whenever I'm in the area and pick out a new tea to try. There is such a great variety of tea and coffee, definitely worth a visit!
A. M.
Good place where you can find any tea flavour! You can also try a few of the at the end of the shop. Staff is very friendly and the variety of coffee however limited is good.
K. D.
This historic tea shop is the original! Huge selection, friendly service, fun atmosphere, great location. They have tea for every taste and budget.
E.
Great place to read on its history, sample great teas and to buy as many teas or coffee as you like. Tends to be busy most of the time. Highly recommended!
D. E.
I believe this is the original twinings shop. Despite working almost right across the road from here I didn't visit for ages but having done so it's very nice. A wide variety of teas and coffees, unfortunately they're all so sophisticated and subtle I have to go away and educate myself!
L. M.
Small shop, but has a big variety of Twining teas. You can smell the leaves, have a taste, and there's even a mini museum at the back.
A. C.
Very helpful staff. Beautiful inside. Also sells coffee.
K. K.
There is huge variety of tea in all kind of price ranges. Staff is helpful and friendly and there is even possibility to taste some. Highly recommended!
K. W.
Lots of samples and a large range to purchase. Friendly, informative staff. Slightly off the beaten track, if you've just come for a brew - stock up while you can!
P. (.
Amazing that this is the original store. Great selection of teas although you have to pay extra if you want paper bags which I find a bit cheeky
C. G.
Do tend to like tea? Then this is the destination not only for the fanatics, but to those who even have a slight preference towards tea. The global tea brand will not cease to entertain you with their countless selection of tea - among others.
H. S.
The beat tea store I've ever seen. Always has a huge variety of tea and very kind staff. Also there is a free testing of tea. Every time in London coming back to Twinings.
K. M.
Twinings Tea Shop And Museum, it's a truly iconic place in London! If you are a tea lover, I would highly recommend you to visit the tea museum. Twinings was the only place where I could find the Irish Breakfast tea for my friend. Don't miss a chance to attend a tea tasting.
Z. S.
Pretty great and aesthetically pleasing! Lovely staff and opportunities to smell and try all the teas; do feel free to inquire about teas that aren't on display too!
S. D.
Small shop along the corridor to their offices. Lots and lots of varieties of tea, no surprise there. Very close the the first building not burned down on the great fire of London. Opposite the Royal Courts of Justice.
J. K.
It's a fantastic place to discover teas due to their selection and friendly staff. An easy to miss spot, but definitely underrated both for tourists and locals who would like to dive into the world of flavours.
B. A. C.
Employees are very nice and knowledgeable. Building is small but it only adds up to the charm. Huge variety of teas.
C. P.
Loved it! They offer lots of different kinds of tea in this shop. For those who love tea, I highly recommend to visit it!!
R. C.
Really nice staff. Great Tea. Interesting displays. We bought a cup of the 2017 1st Flush Darjeeling and it was amazing
A. B.
My wife and I spent about 45 minutes in the shop sampling different teas. It's a free service, but it works we walked out with some much more expensive tea than we planned on buying! Beware!
K. B.
So many teas, amazing service from those working inside, and some nice samples as well. If you're a fan of loose leaf there are loads to choose from - and if you're a twinnings fan you'll be in heaven as I was.
e. b.
Nice boutique, didn't like the aromatised tea, but they have a selection only natural leaves
R. A.
SO much tea!!!! This store is a must-see for any tea junkie. There are little jars everywhere so you can smell the different flavours. There's always something new to try out.
S. S. H.
Although the Twinings museum claims museum status, it is more of a glorified tea shop and tasting area. In the very back of the building there are three display cases with books, tea pots, and documents discussing the brand's history as well as portraits of the Twinings family. I was a bit disappointed with the tasting area. There was only one worker present and after 30 minutes of waiting, I gave up on trying a new tea. I will probably still buy their tea in my local market though.
B. C.
Excellent shop, with great History!!
A. M.
Head down to the rear of the shop they will brew up any of the teas they offer to allow you a free sampling cup (small) so you know what your getting
J. H. C.
Big selection of teas. Friendly staff who will help you if you have any questions and is able to explain details about the teas they sell.
A.
This place was amazing, loved the tea bar. Also loved the vast collection! Bought several loose teas to try.
A. B.
Dropped in on our trip to London and walked out with lots and lots of tea! The staff were very helpful and the free tasting made it easy to find what you liked before you bought.
J. C.
It was a nice posh well stocked shop but I am not in favour of having to buy a minimum of 15 teabags, you should be able to buy however many you want.
T. V.
Diverse choice of tea from leaf tea to individual single use tea bags. Great service. Historic place. Love it.
J. C.
Original Twinings store on the Strand in London. Mostly a flagship style store for tourists visiting local attractions. Good selection but typically easier to buy specialist elsewhere to avoid browsers.
N. W.
What a little gem of a place. Well worth a 10 minute pop in to find out the history of Royal teamakers and to try a few quirky brews.
Jolly convivial....
E.
Fascinating original shop from 1706. Staff were really helpful and knowledgable and all blends can be tasted at the back of the store where they have a lovely little tea museum.
a. v.
The store might be a tad bit touristy and pricey. However, they are forgiven as their tea selection is incredible. Just love it.
R. M.
Fantastic experience for tea lovers. Getting to try all those various flavours and the very knowledgeable staff definitely adds to the experience.
L. L.
My go-to place for buying tea, with a wide variety of tea options. Small but great place, also very good for buying tea gifts.
B. L.
Small shop and fill with lot of history.
D. F.
Great variety of teas available for purchase, however the little museum and tasting corner is not much of an attraction.
J. K.
a little cramped but generally a wonderful space, plus the offer to sample any tea is wonderful and has allowed me to find some of my favourites
B. F.
I can’t enjoy a Sunday morning more than when I go to R. Twinings and Co Limited and have one of their delicious hot tea and a fresh, still warm chocolate croissant baked on place. It’s fantastic! I advise all of you to give it a try.
M. C.
Lots of different teas that they will let you taste although there are times that they have private tastings only.
D. H.
Surrounded by teas on all sides and if you are not sure what to buy at the end of the shop you can sample different fragrances and find the most suitable for you
D. P.
Outstanding selection of teas. Knowledgeable and informative staff. Tasting. No pressure to buy. Probably the best place to buy teas in London.
S. Z.
Huge tea selection, they offer testing. Not cheap though sometimes they have discounts or 3 for 2 offers. Staff is friendly and they seem to know a lot about tea.
K. K. (.
The best tea in the world!!! Nothing more to say!!!
L. M.
The history party could be a bit easier to navigate / a bit more interactive but they let try 3 teas per person which is great if you are in the market for a new tea.
J. V.
The best tea shop in the whole UK.. . Rare shop has loose tea, which I prefer rather than tea bags. And this shop has a lot to offer.
R. W.
I just love bringing my daughter here to look at and smell all the different types of tea. A great way to spend half an hour!
J. R.
A beautiful old shop, I had fun visiting with my daughter who wanted to smell all the teas, she was not a fan of the funny smell of coffee.
S. B.
Best tea brand in Britain
D. B.
Excellent helpful staff and wonderful selection of tea's... some of which you can try there and then served by very knowledgeable staff.
G. B.
Heaven for a tea lover. Every time I go to London I have to stuff my luggage with some Twinings tea. The staff is very kind and available.
A. T.
Expensive shop and the oldest in england. U can try tea inside but not like sitting down and contemplate the essence which kinda kills the mood of the experience. Little disapointed to be honest
S. G. S.
Amazing customer service and great selection of teas (& coffee!). Not very easy to spot the entrance the first time there though.
R. S.
Small but stunning store! Got my favorite tea there. Loads of options and gifts!
C. P.
A narrow slice of tea lover's heaven. Always great staff and delightful experience.
G. P.
The best place for tea lovers where you can find every kind of tea and choosing the one you prefer by smelling it. Lovely place that I suggest to everyone.
R. D.
The original Twinings shop, dating from 1706. A vast collection of tea varieties, and sampling is encouraged. Jane Austen bought tea here.
G. S.
Great place. It's a small store with a big variety of teas. If you like tea this is a place to go.
J. M.
Thanks the very friendly staff. Tasting space is really good.
S. C.
The staff was so knowledgeable and kind while my son and I were in. I would certainly visit again.
M. J.
Nice shop, with different teas. The only bad point is that they don't have decaffeinated green tea.
A. L.
Best tea shop!
J. R.
Great selection of tea. Excellent service at the tea bar where you can sample lots of teas. Jools is amazing.
E. C. (.
nice Twinings shop. I expected more varieties of tea, but due to the small place, probably they chose to show different type of teas.
C. M.
For a tea lover, Mecca. Lovely shop. Lovely staff. Going home with tea I can't get stateside.
J. O.
A mus-see for all tea lovers!
林.
Small store, famous tea.
D. H.
Really helpful staff, let me taste different blends and taught me knowledge about the flavours I was experiencing. Will go back next time I'm down.
L. H.
The staff were very helpful at finding a specific tea I was searching for. Wonderful experience!
G. L.
A must for Tea Lovers and anyone interested in the History of London trading companies, old, original and cozy establishment located on Strand, not to miss the Sommelier Private Lessons!
J. R.
Great place for lovers of Twinings tea and coffee, plus there is a tasting bar as we'll, so you can try before you buy!
U. H.
It's the first Twinings store with a great selection, friendly staff and a corner for you to try some tea. Lovely
R. H. C.
Nice store with a big variety of teas and coffee. The price are a bit expensive but still good. Try to avoid weekends as it's crowded with turists.
S.
Lots of nice tea, coffee, tea tasting and a quaint little museum. Lovely to smell all the tea before buying! :-)
T. A.
Their selection of loose leaf tea is unrivalled, the tasting bar is a great touch, I love this place.
M. T.
Geat place to buy tea! you can find a great variety of tea in taste and price, the bad thing is that the store is small
J. S.
Very good tea and considering the amount of customers still a nice atmosphere. But despite the quality it is still a bit overpriced.
D. K.
Great place to buy high quality tea, and enjoy free tea tasting (usually four samples on offer).
M. C.
you can try and buy delicious tea or other tea products in wonderful packing. Tea tasting is definitely recommended here.
B. M.
Great history and fantastic selection. Very friendly staff who provide samples of the various teas.

Huge tea selection. I really love their tea and the atmosphere in the small store is awesome.
C. N.
Cute little shop, friendly customer service and amazing tea👍
You can even try the tea you'd like to buy🤗
C. C.
I had to come here when visiting London, but I do not understand what all the hype is about. I believe the tea is overpriced and the shop is extremely small. I expected more.
O. L.
Lots of tea (of course). Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Sample different flavors before deciding what to get.
V. N.
Good variety and quality of products, a must-see for all tea lovers visiting London.
D. H.
Great place for tea connoisseurs. Wide range of different teas of the world, as well as a small section of coffee beans
H. O.
Good selection of teas, both from the staples to the rarer leaves, bagged and loose leaf.

A little gem in the less touristic streets of London. Taste and buy a massive selection of Twinings tea. A one of a kind place.
A. S.
Teashop with a history, good to buy tea for yourself or as a gift. I always find something to cherish myself here:)
S. T.
We've been there, we've done souvenir shopping. Professional tea house, sellers with knowledge.
K. S.
Great place to buy Twinnings tea because of variety of choice, however I managed to find some of them cheaper in local store or Tesco.
N. R.
Earl Grey English breakfast and Red bush made me visit again. Taste each one and say thanks for my selection.
C. G.
The best tea shop I have ever seen! An old shop, a museum of the Twining family.

N. T.
Looks tiny from the outside but once inside Wow! Amazingly long and many teas. Worth going to have a look once
N. S.
Nice staff and obviously products.
J. W.
This is what you'd expect, loads of different types and flavours of tea, it's a small shop and I reckon it can get very busy with not much room to move which would detract from the experience.
c. r.
Fantastic place to get tea. Some you can only get there.
J. L.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and chatting with the very knowledgeable employees.
I. R.

Great tea selection and you can even have a try with a tea cup
