Reviews of Pooh Sticks Bridge
D. s.
This is a great piece of nostalgia for anyone who has grown up with Winnie the Pooh. To visit the actual bridge that was the inspiration for the book is heart warming and rich. It's quite a little walk from the car park, and the terrain is fairly steep, so I wouldn't go with children too small and I also wouldn't recommend strollers / prams to go down there either.
Piglets house is on the way to the bridge (mid way on the right), but you can easily miss it if you don't pay attention.
The water is a little low at the moment so it's difficult to actually play 'Pooh Sticks' but the bridge is freshly renovated and offers a great visual trip into the mind of A.A.Milne
Y. W.
A fantastic place to take children around or for a relaxing forest walking for adults.
The location is in a private estate land, but open to the public to walk.
There is a car park, but the sign is not very obvious when you drive along the main road.
Please bring a pair of Willington boots or some suitable walking boots or shoes that are water proof or resist if the weather is wet, the road can be very muddy.
E. N.
Any fan of Winnie the Pooh and the stories of Hundred Acre Woods will love the fact that you get to step into the landscape that inspired it all. There's a nice size car park. While you make your way to the bridge, be sure to keep an eye out for some of the homes of the beloved characters. It was possibly a mile to the bridge. Don't forget to check out Poohs Corner for afternoon tea!
F. G.
Didn’t expect this bridge to appear close to where we live. Although it was packed and busy, it’s definitely a great experience coming here. Do play along with those sticks and you will have quite a fun for it. Picnics are done over here too.
K. K.
Do not listen to the comments below that say the river is clogged and not well maintained. If you are walking from the nearest car park then you will come across a smaller bridge going over a very small stream that is definitely clogged and not somewhere you can play pooh sticks. Keep going though and you will find a second bridge. The second bridge is where you want to be.
Pro tip: scout your sticks early. Once you get there the ground has been picked clean of all sticks that are more than about 2cm long
L. S.
Brilliant to see the bridge and the homes of various characters. Nice walk if a little muddy!
I. R.
A long walk to get there and back up the hill to get back. However it has to be done.
Nice little cafe in the carpark too.
M. F.
It literally is just a bridge, the water flows VERY slowly, so that you have quite a while when playing "Pooh sticks". Pooh corner is definitely worth a visit, the bridge is ok.
M. W.
Lovely place to visit, it seems recent works have been done for the environment, I can imagine that in the summer the woods will be even more spectacular.
Pooh Sticks need to be collected carefully, not broken off from nearby trees, then the race can start
M. H.
Childhood dream rekindled. There us only one approved way to get there, we tried two before we found the carpark. Sadly no pastry serving caravan anymore.
B. C.
Its free to see and a beautiful walk that any child will enjoy esp if a fan of Winnie the Pooh. Worth going to the small Pooh Corner restaurant also filled with all things Pooh, a small museum and nice food.
D. B.
Myself and my mother in law took my five year old here for a day out.
If you're not familiar with the area, a Sat Nav is a must. Look out for a road called Jib Jacks Hill. The place to park is located up there.
Once you have parked up, you can start your adventure to find Pooh Bridge.
I do recommend going off the path and into the small woods on the right as there are some hidden doors for the kids to find. My daughter had great fun discovering these. Make sure to look high and low.
I also recommend gathering sticks on the way to play Pooh Sticks with once you get to the bridge.
Once past the bridge, keep an eye out on the left hand side for Pooh's door. There is a little surprise hidden inside.
Once we got to the private farms at the end of the track, we turned back but I do believe you can carry on for a walk.
c.
A nice place to visit for Pooh/A A Milne fans. Its a 10 minute fast walk on clearly marked, wide, gravelly path from the only car park on Chuck Hatch Lane. But a slow walk will let you spot Piglets house and Owls house up trees, on the way. The exact location of the Poosticks bridge (using the the What Three Words app) is " wished.greet.goad ". Pooh's house ( complete with Honey pots) is just over the bridge, about 10-20 yards on the left.
Definitely don't miss the Pooh Corner tearoom on the B2026 about a mile or so north of Chuck Hatch lane. It serves good food, and has an extensive Pooh/A A Milne display/mini Museum to view, along with numerous good quality souvenirs to buy.
D. M.
Lovely walk, beautiful autumn colours
A. V.
Pooh Bridge is lovely to visit, the route we took was about a 15 min walk from Pooh Car Park. It is downhill so be mindful if you have difficulty walking, but there are three or four spaces with benches if you need a break.
Also consider grabbing sticks before you arrive as the bridge area has been completely cleared of sticks.
You should try and explore more of the forest as well because it is so beautiful and peaceful.
T. C.
Got to play Pooh sticks when visiting Pooh sticks bridge! Fantastic day out
Z.
There is a great circular walk to be had starting at Gills lap north car park, going to Pooh bridge and back, taking in some real good scenery. The route I have posted is a good few hours including a picnic.
A. B.
One of the best known places in the whole of the winnie the pooh stories. You can even play pooh sticks on the bridge. For all milne lovers it is certainly worth a visit just so you can visualise where the story was created.
P. M.
Lovely little walk from pooh car park to pooh sticks bridge. Signs directing you to the bridge. Mostly under cover from trees so good for a hot or cloudy day.
S. M.
My daughter and I had a wonderful time playing Pooh Sticks here. If you like being outdoors, walking in woods and lovely scenery then it's a really lovely place to do that, Pooh Bridge is the cherry on the top. It's not a theme park it's woodland, if you're going expecting Winnie the Pooh World and flashing lights, rides and icecreams then... No. Bring your own drinks, bring a picnic, because what it is is a beautiful, natural place that inspired wonderful stories and is a great place for kids play naturally and explore the outdoors.
I will say that we got lost about 15 times getting to Hartfield as it's a small village, but could've been better signposted owing to it's literary connections and clear signs from the car park to the bridge would be handy (we ended up hiking along a farm track for a while). But yes. A really lovely part of the country for kids and big kids to ramble around and naturally indulge in a round or two of Pooh Sticks.
J. W.
Shame it was so muddy but a lovely little New Year's walk.
J. S.
Lovely little walk to do and its great fun playing pooh sticks off the bridge 🥰
E. J. K.
A little place of magic for kids and adults alike with lovely walks to get there. The bridge has been restored since we last went and is looking lovely. Playing pooh sticks here is like stepping back into childhood. 50 years I've been playing here - I look forward to 50 more 💖
T. S.
Super quaint. A decent downhill walk from the Pooh car park - plenty of opportunities to gather sticks!
J. M.
Nice little bridge - love playing Pooh sticks💕 bit of a hill on the way back tho. Oh don't miss Piglet's house on the way down
A.
Such a cute little place!!🧸 Try to through a stick or two into the river 😊
B. R.
Must bring place for kids, make sure to put Pooh Sticks Carpark if wanting to park and walk. If you don't you will be sent down a private road with no place to park.
J. D.
Other than the novelty of visiting a place that non-existent talking animals frequented, there is not much here other than a bit of peaceful reflection. The walk to the bridge from the parking lot is downhill. It is not particularly strenuous to come back up, though we did meet one person who was having a time of it. At least bring water with you. I don't advise drinking from the stream.
P. A.
The challenge is to find the place and be wary of initial directions however once found a great little spot to relish literary history..
C. S.
I loved to play Pooh sticks in this very iconic place. It's worth a visit if you like Pooh and walks! :)
R. I.
Easy to get to, not too far from car park to walk but a bit steep on the way back up! Bridge itself very well kept, beautiful surroundings to sit for a while, worth a little visit
A. F.
My son is autistic and non verbal, this was perfect for him and absolutely LOVED all the hidden stuff :)
The shop staff at pooh corner was absolutely brilliant with him and very understanding:)
l. g.
Nice walk down , played pooh sticks and then back again!! It's all down hill so lots of encouragement for the legs back up again!!
e. h.
What a lovely piece of history! I would highly advise collecting sticks before coming as there are barely any left in the surrounding areas (I think unfortunately some people resort to breaking them off the trees!). Don’t miss out on the secret little honey door (it’s on the right hand side as you approach or the left hand side on the way back!) 🍯 🐻
C. L.
Brilliant fun for the kids, and a nice walk. The entrance is easy to miss, look carefully in the corner of the bend of the road and you will see a vertical sign saying "Pooh Bridge"
R. K.
Nice and short walk. An old wooden bridge with a cute Winnie Pooh story.
M. “. T.
A nice place to visit. Was busy but it was Fathers Day. Nice little touches with Owls house in the trees. A good place to build eyoore houses too after having a game of pooh sticks
S. A.
Great place if you're into Pooh . . . . or currently reading it to your little ones. There were families aplenty and the weather was fab for a long walk in the woods . .. see pics attached
C.
A bit disappointed! When we arrived at the bridge we were expecting some more things to do with Pooh bear but literally nothing other than the bridge. Could be made into a better attraction with maybe some pictures, fun facts, etc..
J. V.
A little slice of literary history and charm this is the bridge where Pooh invented Pooh Sticks. Depending on what time of day you are there you’ll see plenty of people young and old playing the same game. Worth the 10-12 minute walk from the car park with lots of woods for kids to let themselves and their imaginations run wild.
T. C.
Just fun. Be Awre that there is a slope and walk of approx 1000 metres that whilst solid, is rough ground. Took us a while to find the car park, but worth it for the coffee cart, "Winnie the Brew"!!
T. P.
Five star Visit just beautiful. We have young children and they enjoyed every second running through the woods. We found a quite area tucked away in the forest and enjoyed a warm lunch of super noodles cooked on a trangia. With Hot chocolate to wash it down with afterwards. Easy to find and signed posted along the way. POOH bridge is awesome. I lost both times.
F. M.
Wooden bridge that gave inspiration to the Winnie The Pooh stories written by A.A. Milne. This bridge is located at Ashdown Forest, beautiful place to explore and have a good time in touch with nature.
D. S.
Interesting use of a natural area. Great for children and adults alike who like to have an insight in the fantasy that is Winnie the Pooh
N. W.
I finally understand the appeal of Pooh Sticks! With the currents and eddies of the stream here, there is some skill and competition. Make sure you collect a stick or two before you arrive as you'll find none nearby.
m. w.
We are in our latest 60s and we loved visiting poo bridge,we even played poo sticks (my wife won 😕),it's a bit of a walk from car park but we'll worth the lovely walk
H. B.
Disappointing, rivulet was a slow trickle, also bridge wasn't much to speak of, lovely wooded area though
A. G.
Brilliant place to take the kids hunting though the woods for all the doors
S. B.
Many pooh sticks have passed under, and it was blocked until a friendly dog waded in and helpfully got the stream flowing.
S. B.
Great adventure today.. Great parking and easy access and walk
M. F.
Lovely place to put honey too ! But they need to clear the sticks as they are creating a dam further down blocking stream
C. S.
Cute and nostalgic place to visit... very pretty location & a good family trip especially with a visit to Pooh Corner for a Cream Tea 👌
P. B.
Amazing fun. Parked in Pooh car park and bought lovely coffee and chocolate from new refreshment van there. Lovely staff. Then off to play pooh sticks, resulting in 1-1 draw.
J. R.
A few minutes gorgeous walk down from Pooh Car park. Just as imagined. Bring your own stick.
G. P.
How can it be anything other than a 5* for something so wholesome that takes me back to my childhood?
b. A.
Great place for a walk, can consider it a difficult walk, if you find up hill, uneven ground difficult, there's ruts as well, if you don't mind that then it's a pleasure. If you're putting poo bridge on your sat-nav put 'poo bridge carpark' I found out the hard way, 😆 🤣 took me down a private lane.
L. F.
Lovely place to visit with wet woodland also were A.A.Milne wrote Winnie the pooh. It was also lovely to see families with children finding a stick to take to Pooh Stick Bridge as Christopher Robin would have.
T. B.
Very enjoyable day out to come back to the Ashdown forest seeing the sites of Winnie the pooh, and Piglet's greatest adventures.
J. S.
Genuienly upsetting walking to the bridge. They've cut half the bloody forest down! Centuries of culture just ripped out for minor profit which we will not be able to get back. The bridge itself is at least intact for now and is a shining beacon in a rubble of woodcutting catastrophe.
S. R.
Lovely little place to visit with the family, especially if the little ones love the winnie the pooh stories.
The bridge itself is just a wooden bridge but it's perfect for playing the time honoured game made famous by Christopher Robin and his band of friends.
The walk down from the car park holds some little surprises but you have to really look they aren't obvious!
I would strongly recommend some waterproof footwear that you don't mind getting muddy (wellies if possible)
Worth the trip
P. H.
I went to this place year's ago with my children, now I've taken my oldest grandson,it's a nice walk & it's changed from when I went there there's now a car park & a few other things to look at you will see if you go kids will love it.
V. M.
Love playing Pooh sticks here. Great place for our Grandchildren. We all had a lovely time. Nice walk to the bridge from car park and back.
M. M.
A magical place for little ones and grown up ones!
There are lots of walks to the bridge, but if you have little ones with you, the best place to park is the Pooh car park. Don't forget about collecting fallen sticks before you arrive to the bridge and don't forget to look around and up in the trees to spot Owl's house and more...
P. G.
Beautiful scenery and I loved seeing all the little houses from the characters.
B. M. T.
Back before we had GPS's to guide our every step, my fiancé and I were driving around the area looking for this bridge. We searched long and hard before finally locating the car park. I was expecting a beautiful arched stone bridge common to the area, but was disappointed to only find this little modern wooden bridge. The walk was nice and it gave us fun memories of looking for the bridge, only to find this one. I guess it'd be good for families with kids, but I wouldn't recommend wasting the time to go here otherwise.
R. Y.
Parked at Gill's Lap car park and followed the Pooh walk trail. Walking shoes advisable and definitely take a drink! The bridge itself is nestled in a really tranquil area of the forest. Benefitted from visiting during school time and had the place to ourselves minus a couple of horse riders. Most pages say to take a stick with you but there are plenty along the path to pick up. If you plan on following the trail into Hartfield, note footpath would be better with wellies or waterproof boots, mud puddles were ankle deep with no way around them. Heading back up past Owl's House to the circular trail is easy, just make sure you look for the yellow arrows heading back into the forest from the road. If you're anything the non-hiker like me, I wish you good luck
R. H.
Awesome walk great English woodlands
S. A.
Beautiful walk, not that far from my property
K.
Beautiful walk through the trees and surrounding fields from Pooh Sticks car park to Hartfield village. Adults seem to be having as much fun as the kids with stick racing at Pooh Sticks bridge. Liked the "treasure hunt" with honey jar and secret doors hidden high among the trees. Great day outdoors.
A. J.
Nicely built bridge, found after a long walk. The signposts could be better as it looks like some of the footpaths have been moved/diverted. The stream below the bridge was very low and not really moving, so don't get your hopes up if you want to play a game of Pooh sticks!
L. v. O.
We love it here, last visits we can see its been cleanes up and they've added owls house on the path but Pooh's house has gone :(
D. J. (.
Nice to visit for youngsters to play Pooh sticks, but I suspect foreign visitors might be underwhelmed and wonder what the fuss is all about. River almost bone dry which didn't help, but it kept a two year old happy for a while.
N. T.
Lovely little walk. Definitely go to the pooh corner tea rooms.
C. a. E.
How can you not love this. If its good enough for Winnie the poo, then it's good enough for you 😉 😊
L. &. P. R.
Instead of driving all the way here we decided to walk here from the pooh shop in the village. From the shop on your right follow the road round to the right.
At hook house/farm (think of Robin hook), turn left into it and follow the footpath straight ahead. From there the path is well sign posted.
When your almost there you'll see some large houses in your left. After 100m bare right. (Not left for 10min down the lane as we did, before we realised).
Enjoy.
J. M.
Fun day out walking with the kids
G. M.
So cool to okay Pooh Sticks off the original bridge in the hundred acre wood
C. B.
A lovely 40 mins walk (20 each way from the car park) to see the famous Pooh Sticks Bridge. The walk was lovely and quiet with well maintained paths and the bridge did not disappoint - had a great time playing Pooh Sticks with both the younger and older generation with us.
C. F.
Fabulous place for kids of all-ages!!! Fun Fun FUNG!!!🏴🌺🌸💗💗💗💗💗🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🌸🌺
L. F.
Exactly like you'd expect - plenty of sticks and a real sense of love and history. Plenty of things to see along the walk from the car park to the bridge including Eeyore's house and Owl's door! A must-visit for any Pooh fan.
M. B.
Easy to find well sign posted. Lovely walk from the carpark.
E. M.
We walked here from Pooh Corner through very pleasant countryside. The bridge itself was the main draw but the children enjoyed searching for Pooh and all his friends’ houses far more than the five minutes or so they spent in the bridge itself.
J. P.
It's ok. One of those places you have to do just to say you've played Pooh Sticks. I think a tasteful plaque with the story of Pooh and Piglet's visit would be nice. The stream could do with some removal of branches. Finally, few benches wouldn't go amiss for us pensioners before the long, uphill walk back.
C. C.
This place is the famous Pooh Bridge, I have been down there multiple times but its not somewhere that you'd make often trips down to as there can be a lot of people. Unfortunately the original bridge is no more as people have taken bits of the original bridge with them and destroyed the area. Since the Christopher Robin movie came out, there has been an increase in tourism in the area which has slightly damaged the area however its starting to recover now as not as many people are going there to visit it. Other than that its a very peaceful place to be if you want to relax but its not a quiet place. Also if you walk your dog there please just put it on a lead as its inconvenient to other people who actually put their dogs on the lead.
J. v. d. B. -. S.
A 40 minute hike from Pooh's tea room. The weather was very good. The hike as well. Passing by some nice house, through the fields and into the forest.
Definetly recommend taking this scenic route. The bridge itself was not as special for me as it was for my wife. The creek had run a bit dry. And a dam had formed because of all tourists saying the stick game, which was very beautiful to look at. My wife and I played the game, not using stocks but the roses from our wedding bouquet. Very magical?
L. L.
Maybe I just set my expectations too high because Winnie-the-Pooh was a huge part of my childhood, but it was really underwhelming. It really is just a bridge. How do you review a bridge? It was wooden and fairly sturdy, so I guess good as far as bridges go? That being said, the river is genuinely blocked because of all the sticks (more like branches) that people throw and Winnie-the-Pooh wasn't even there, which just felt like false advertising tbh.
G. T.
Great walk from pooh car park , 20mins to bridge and then can continue another 20mins to hartfield town where pooh corner cafe is. Lots of little pooh references along the walk to look out for.
J. V. H.
So pleased it is not commercialised. Need sat nav to get to car park as it is not sign posted. 10-15 min downhill walk through the forest from Pooh bridge car park (sign posted as "bridge"). Nice and quiet. Plenty opportunities to picnic in the forest.
A. B.
Car park at top of hill.
5-20min walk to bridge down hill depending on speed/age of children. Owls house and poohs house on the right as come down slope.
Can get sticks on the way down hill but best get them from where you live.
Don’t forget the blackberries are a plenty if you are walking in August.
K. B.
Beautiful place so mich to see and hunt for
E. B.
Great to be there, but it's weirdly touristy for the middle of nowhere in a pandemic. We had to queue for our turn to play Poohsticks and take a picture. Then we turned around and our sticks had disappeared into a vast raft of thousands upon thousands of Poohsticks from decades of playing.
T.
It's lovely to walk to this bridge, especially if you are a Winnie the Pooh fan. Just be prepared for the reality of it. Everyone goes there to play pooh sticks. The immediate area around the bridge gas been stripped bare of all low down twigs and if you brought your own you'll find the stream below is so congested with sticks you'll be lucky to even get them to pass under without getting stuck .
H. G.
Google maps will mislead you look for a sign Poo Sticks Bridge in car park
R. S.
Nice walk on a warm day to the bridge. Look out for owl and Eyores house on way to bridge
A. T.
Nice woods, no clear signs for the trail.
S. K.
Always a pleasure. Avoid it on weekends as it’s too busy.
T. N.
Lovely location for a walk. Can play pooh sticks too.
W. S.
Nice woodland walk from the pooh Car Park but nothing beyond the Pooh Sticks Bridge only end up private properties. Must observe the woodland or you will miss poohs little door.
D. H.
Loved visiting pooh sticks bridge however the postcode is incorrect. First you must visit Pooh Corner - a local shop - and they provide you with a map which you can drive or walk. There is a further 20 minute walk down hill once youve parked the car to the bridge which would not be great for wheelchairs or people with walking difficulties.
R. T.
Nice walk to see the bridge after visiting Pooh Corner.
J.
Slightly busy but bridge is a good size for the noble game of Pooh sticks. However, the lack of a sign with official rules caused much unnecessary bickering and squabbling between me and my (now ex-) girlfriend.
B. L.
Not sure it is quite worth the effort to see one bridge.... The walk down to the bridge is fairly dull through managed forest and tired woodland ... And there is no round walk back ... So up the hill you go.
Was a lot more magical in the books and maybe leave your memories to paint the picture for you
M. H.
Easy. walk down to the bridge and a good game of pooh sticks. Passed Eyore and owls house 😄
D. S.
Best walk EVER .... Bridge & surrounding area a little underwhelming but sooooo glad we visited ...
Highly recommend walking onto the GALLIPOT INN .
M. 9.
The bridge is quite average. You would find anything much better.
The surroundings are peaceful and good for dog walking.
Quite a bit of forest but do not expect much.
M. G.
Free parking, and something to entertain children (if you have them). A nice, but short walk leads to the bridge (c.20 mins). The funniest thing is the number of sticks in the river (see photos). I can imagine that this has to be cleared fairly frequently...
C. H.
Lovely walk through forest to the bridge where we got to play pooh sticks. If you go collect sticks before u get to the bridge as not many around.... only downside was car park is not particularly easy to find
B. W.
"Nobody Can Be Uncheered With A Balloon!"
Adult or child, Winnie the Pooh and his friends will always bring a smile to your face.
All the locations in A.A. Milnes 'Pooh' writings are real including 'Pooh Sticks Bridge'.
Park up, grab some sticks, take the 10 minute well maintained footpath and try to recreate E.H. Sheppard's iconic line drawing of Christopher Robin and Pooh on the bridge!
🙂
j. e.
Lovely walks to take dogs but NO POOH BINS from car park all the way to the shop. Not even one outside shop although they sell food. Fancy not having a pooh bin in Pooh country!
c. G.
So sweet & worth looking for this precious area to explore.
R. D.
Worth doing, kills an hour or 2 with the kids.
l. m.
Amazing walk , views to die for .
D. C.
With a trip but Make sure you're telling stories while you're there because it's a bit underwhelming. Look out for owl's and Pooh's house and more in the woods on the walk down the hill. And collect sticks on the way because the trees and floor by the bridge have been stripped!
J. F.
It is a bridge. There is no poo.
I loved my hour, there. I was with two little grandchildren, so how could I not?
Piglet's house and Pooh's house were there - but nobody was home. ☹️
Lots of fun was had looking for mushrooms.
The bridge was great for Pooh sticks.
Get there at 9am. Avoid humans, I recommend.
A. A.
Nice but they council need to clear away what is fast becoming a man made dam made out of pooh sticks! The river is barley able to flow beyond the mini mound which is forming in the stream below the bridge.
j. b.
Fun for the kids but would be nice if you could do a loop around the woods rather than the same path to the bridge and back. Very busy...
B. P.
Lovely place to walk and make memories with children
J. W.
I just love Pooh Bear so am familiar with the game of 'Poohsticks'. We were going camping in the area so of course Pooh Corner was definitely going to be on my agenda. My man Steve is a long suffering sweetheart and puts up with most of my childlike desires thankfully. Firstly we visited Pooh Corner for a Honey Pooh cream tea, a browse and a map of all of Pooh's Enchanted places. Poohsticks bridge was my favourite. I'm not too fond of walking great distances but there are car parks close by and the walk was lovely and not too far at all. We found 'Poohsticks' and one of my bucket list items was ticked. I felt like a little kid and really enjoyed my day.
C. J.
Pleasant walk. If you stop at the first bridge we came to, you will be disappointed. Keep going and the real bridge is worth the effort.
C. D.
5 star's After we found pooh bridge we got lost. I'm 35 and was completely unimpressed that my husband wanted to find this however there's something satisfying about throwing a pooh stick into the poo river under the Bridge. Just on your way to bridge pick up sticks not many to be had near.
G. B.
How can you not visit pooh sticks bridge. There is a little door on a tree nearby and you could leave a note for piglet. Truly magical in Ashdown forest. So worth visiting though the bridge irself isn't exciting.
M. G.
Must visit for winnie the pooh fans
N. N.
Well, it's a bridge. You can throw sticks and cones from it, and wait until they show up on the other side. And hardly many more things.
C. S.
Great place for a family walk
N. W.
Lovely walk to the bridge. Nice day walking in the forest with the SO and even got to throw some sticks in.
R. O.
This is truly a hidden gem for both adults and children. I highly recommend it to all, but make sure that you look out for the hidden Winnie the Pooh themed stuff hiding amongst the forest
Z. V.
Always great fun with kids plus you must play the pooh stick game
C. M.
Beautiful forest. A lovely walk . Kids loved the fact that it was pooh sticks bridge and we saw the doors to owl and piglets house in the trees x
J. A.
Usually a bridge is just a bridge, but this is different. It's Pooh Bridge! The surrounding Woodland is what the Winnie-the-pooh books are inspired by. Anyone coming here must visit the bridge. It is even better when accompanied by a visit to Pooh Corner.
a. s.
Such a fun place for all the family
A. B.
A beautiful walk and a wonderful slice of the quintessential English countryside.
Top tip: Sticks nearer the bridge are at a premium , therefore find your sticks throughout the forest whist on route down to the bridge.
S. G.
All a bit dried up at the moment, but still nice to pay a visit
S. B.
Having taken the grandchildren to find pooh sticks we came away disappointed not being able to find it ,it would be a good idea to sign post this for people to find ,I spoke to a lot of people at pooh corner and they had the same expierience not finding it ,so we popped in the shop and looked around and came home disappointed .
N. N.
a bit of walk from car park , but who doesn’t like a stick in the river. Would be nice to have more Pooh related features in the path.
s. g.
Lovely, scenic, peaceful place to walk. Playing Pooh Sticks just made the experience even more enjoyable.
R. W.
Well, a bit disappointing, very plain wooden bridge, nothing else there
T. S.
Lovely place to visit for a walk. About a 15 minute downhill walk from Pooh Car Park
M. H.
Nice to visit here - my wife and I did the 'pooh-sticks' naturally! Did it twice and the score was 1-1 ( though she cheated by throwing it further under the bridge on the second occasion 😀)
B. H.
Been here twice - 38 yrs apart. Loved being able to show my kids the real Winnie The Pooh areas, not the Disney-sanitised versions.
K. W.
A magical place to take the family
K. R.
Loved it.
Only sad thing was stupid dog owners letting their dogs run free.
I. R.
Well open space and children can play pooh stick and find the little door (the red door) in the trees
Bit of a long walk and not a lot of shade along the walk from the car park to the bridge
S. M.
Fun place to visit. Beautiful Woods for a hike
B. S. (.
The perfect place for Poohsticks.
R. O.
Lovely walk in a beautiful wood with the highlight of seeing the famous bridge and playing a game of Pooh sticks. The kids loved it.
G. G.
The place you pictured in your mind since your child book about Winnie-the-Pooh
j. v.
Its was a lovely walk with the dog and the kids, The kids enjoyed throwing the stick in the water at pooh sticks Bridge and will definitely go back.
r. m.
Great playing pooh stick on the bridge
M. D.
A great place for children (young and old alike) to have some fun. Depending on where you park it can be a long walk
N. D.
A lovely place and a must visit for tourists but the Ashdown forest (across the road and opposite direction from Pooh car park) is a far more beautiful place to explore!
t. b.
It was very busy so turn up early to get a car parking space
c. b.
Keep going to find Poohs house!
A. S.
I shall write an abridged post. It's a bridge.
I. W.
Lovely spot for an original game of pooh Sticks! About a 20 min walk from the car park.
M. W.
So lovely and peaceful! A great place to visit, especially for Winnie the Pooh fans :)
C. C.
Lovely quiet activity. Wish people would use sensible size sticks rather than large sticks and branches which block the stream and ruin the activity for others.
D. H.
A little underwhelming to be honest, but I'm glad we went.
P. S.
It is a nice walk down through the forest to the bridge from the car park, but in reality all you are seeing at the end is a not that impressive wooden bridge with a small plaque.
D. D.
Lovely spot to visit with little people and big people. Pick up sticks to use on your way in as there aren't many left near the bridge.
C. S.
Beautiful spot for Pooh fans
J. W.
Absolutely magical place! Loved every minute collecting 'haycorns' and playing pooh sticks, also spotting Eeyore's house in amongst the trees✨🍁🍂🌰🍄✨ xxxx
R. S.
Very popular place for your children. The nearest car park is about 10-15 minutes walk.
J. P.
The walk is great and just the right distance for two youngish children but it's not well signposted, took a couple of attempts to find the right place.
A. B.
Needs to be seen, feels magical
D.
The bridge isnt something amazing,is just small bridhe, just ok,the forest on the other hand has all the beauty
L. H. (.
Beautiful bridge, recommend finding Pooh sticks before you arrive as the ground is pretty sparce
E. B.
Lovely walks through Hundred Ache woods to see where Pooh and his friends live.
J. T.
Bring your own sticks. People have ravaged the surrounding trees and it's kind of sad. Someone could make a killing selling Pooh Sticks here.
M. L.
A must visit for Winnie the Pooh fans! Pick up some sticks on your way to the bridge as there are hardly any around there.
T. L.
Nice walk it's a bit broken up but worth it. There are quite a few little things to do the little one had fun
Z. C.
Lovely place the family enjoyed it but not easy to find on the Sat nav
J. F.
Great walk and we watched a black otter at play....a local said she had never seen one....we we're so blessed
D. P. (. T.
Loved it. Great little spot for Pooh bear fans and lots of other walks within minutes.
S. B.
Thankfully this has remained free of commercialisation and is just a bridge over a stream rather than a tourist trap. Collect your sticks before you get there!
M. M.
Charming and understated, just like the story it inspired. Please don't litter and please do clear away your dog's mess 🙏
P. B.
Lovely place to visit with the grandchildren. Good car park and access.
E. M.
Will always be a special place got engaged on the bridge now been married 14 years and counting
D. J.
Tbh I'm not a fan of the Pooh books, but it's such an amazing place to walk how could I not like it?
J. C. (. S.
Enjoyed our day out, playing pooh sticks but rather over-crowded with young families doing the same.
B. F.
Awesome! Really beautiful place. The atmosphere there I really love. But it's really cold to me when it's Dec, haha...
H. J.
Beautiful place for all ages to go and enjoy
J. E.
The best part of the online pooh walking tour but get your comfortable shoes on because it's a long walk.
M. L. (.
A wonderful walk in the Ashdown Forest, taking in some of Pooh and Friends favourite places...
S. G.
It's the bridge from the famous Winnie the Pooh books. A bit of a walk to get there from the car park.
E. L.
Great place for Winnie the Pooh fans, lovely area and fun to play Pooh sticks :)
M. F.
Cute little bridge as part of a walk around Ashdown forest. Got to play Pooh Sticks.
F. C.
Great place to visit, lots of visitors were in attendance, would have appreciated a bit more parking spaces.
j. f.
Lovely magical place
N.
So awesome! Got chased by a horsefly for the best part of 10 minutes that seemed to like taking chunks out of us!!!
E. B.
Nice walk, a little underwhelmed with the bridge itself, pick up pooh sticks before you get there.
J. C.
A charming little spot. Pop round to Pooh corner for some fab cake and a tea after throwing your sticks.
A. C.
Take sticks with you and mind you don't block the current as it is slow
M. W.
Brings back wonderful memories. Ashdown forest is absolutely stunning with some fantastic walks.
J. C.
Great but most sticks near the bridge have been collected so take your own...
M. G.
Lovely morning with the family, amazing woodland and views
N. P.
Its a bit of a hike but what a great place.

J. D.
Good for kids who like winnie the Pooh and you will see a lot of families.
L. G.
Lovely place to walk... myself and family loved it!
J. C.
Hard to find and a long long walk to get to it. When you are there, you think am I at the right bridge as there is no signs to say pooh bridge.
M. H.
A nice walk with the children.
R. H.
Anyone a fan of Winnie the Pooh needs to go play Pooh Sticks underneath the bridge. Unfortunately - Mine kept getting stuck.
R. D.
Amazing to see the actual bridge that helped to inspire some great stories.
M. A.
Me & my girlfriend had an amazing day in Ashdown this being the highlight
G. M.
Always wanted to see the famous bridge, which has been rebuilt. Children seemed to like it.
J. Y.
Lovely day out....and free
T. d. W.
This and the surrounding area is a family favourite. The only pity is that someone keeps damaging piglets home. Grrrr!
L. K.

lovely country walk and a few surprises from the pooh books if you look carefully
D. M.
Busy place, parking a nightmare considering it's a national landmark and no social distancing going on
H. B.
10 mins walk from Pooh carpark, a nondescript bridge if you are not a Pooh fan
E. W.
A childhood dream brought to life in a pleasant walk with lots to look and smile at.
R. G.
As seen in photographs and equally pleasant to visit. Look for additional curiosities (owl's door etc)
M. G. N.
Do it! It's a great view and walk just to find. ;)

Beautiful scenery and such fun for the kids x

(Translated) Dream come true, enjoy a long and pleasant walk in the forest that inspired Milne to create the forest of Winnie the Pooh. And of course, part of the magic was the bridge. A very beautiful forest and a magical bridge.

(Translated) A pleasant trip, Harfield is accessible by public transport from London with one transfer. We walked from Pooh Corner through the meadows to the "Century Forest" to the bridge. The route is mostly marked. In the vicinity of the bridge there are "houses of friends from the centipede forest". Nearby is the former house of A. A. Milne, it is hardly visible from the road, it is privately owned.

Příjemný výlet, Harfield je dostupný mhd z Londýna s jedním přestupem. Do "Stokorcového lesa" k mostu jsme šli procházkou z Pooh Corner přes louky. Trasa je vesměs značená. V okolí mostu jsou "domečky přátel ze stokorcového lesa". Opodál je bývalý dům A. A. Milna, z cesty není téměř viditelný, je v soukromém vlastnictví.

(Translated) The Holy Land of Classic Pooh. About 30 minutes walk from Pooh Corner. Eighty percent walk on unpaved roads and horse dung is falling, so shoes like sneakers or light climbing shoes are recommended. There are not many trees around the bridge, so it is recommended that you pick it up in advance if you want to stick.
