What an amazing resource for the local, and wider Manchester community.
So many different activities for all age groups. The free toddler session on a Friday morning is so fantastic, and very well run.
Such a great selection of shows coming up over the winter period too. Check it out and support this amazing centre. 👏

Lovely activity and very friendly cafe. Found my grandson some gluten free food.
C. B.
Went for the Julia Donaldson exhibit with a 4 month old and 2 year old. Was blown away. The exhibit was so well done it completely blew my toddlers mind. The staff were all awesome and I felt you could feel the love that's been put into everything there coming out of the walls.
Reccomend 1000%

Really good venue. Attended the 2018 National Permaculture Convergence there.
Lots of meeting rooms and good sized theatre.
Nice small bar cafe with comfortable seating areas.

Great place to visit. Friendly staff. Great activities. And that's just what my girlfriend says but she would because she works there! I have to agree with her, well worth visiting.

I went today to the new exhibition at Z arts.We used to go all the time as we lived very near.I travel now as this place rocks.Inclusive, interesting and fun this place has always rocked.Today I need to mention the actor in the fairy tale exhibition.I was on my own and one child was scared he went over and above to help her.She came our loving the exhibition.
R. J.
Lovely place the exhibitions timings need to be slightly longer. We didn't have enough time. 1.5 hours per visit would be better please.
J. L.
Excellent children's arts center providing a wide variety of creative activities for kids, music, dance, drama, literature, art, crafts and performance.
G. S.
World inside a book was amazing, everyone that worked there was really friendly and was always coming round talking to you to make sure you had seen everything. The story time starts it off then your off to a world inside a book. The 2year loved it.
K. S.
Came to see the "World Inside a Book" we arrived slightly late due to my child being poorly in the car, but they were really good and rushed us in. The exhibition is amazing. My daughter loved it! Totally interactive, a must do if your children love Julia Donaldson! There were lots of crafts to do after the show and a lovely cafe which seemed really reasonably priced. A great community asset.
M. F.
What an interesting space, and such friendly helpful smiley staff. Lots going on at this venue, all creative and artful. The theatre is cosy and intimate, the bar is small and busy. Didn't get to see the rest of the venue this time.
Parking can be a bit tricky, on road only and pay at the machines.
C. W.
Lovely space and facilities. Great production!! Friendly atmosphere
S. W.
This place is so cute! We had a lovely day out an will visit again.
G. H.
Such a fantastic organisation and somewhere we've been multiple times. The thought that goes into their events is so detailed and our daughter loves them.
M. L.
Amazing place for kids and parents! Cafe, library, shop, shows and workshops
W. D.
Its a great place, full of gorgeous, very sexy women
Lots of good family & non family events.
Thearte there is set up to be very interactive which was great fun during the adult version of Cinderella.
Arun Ghosh is performing on Dec 7th.
He is a total wizard with an excellent support band.
Kids & adults loved his interactive show when he performed there a month or so ago..
His wand is his flute&clarinet.
♥️🙏♥️

Love this place!! Fabulous staff and fabulous events!! Attended the Tiger came to Tea event today with our 3yr old; worth every penny of the £15.75 entrance fee. Wonderful animation, story telling and crafts. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for a fantastic family afternoon
P. v. d. B.
we were with you! The child really liked it!
C. M.
We went to see The Tiger who came to Tea and we had a magnificent time. Congrats to Tom who kept us all entertained.
Lois and Robyn enjoyed it and we stayed for lunch. Fabulous
M. P.
Great place. Loads going on, particularly for families, and regular shows and events. The cafe is lovely with a small area for playing and colouring for kids and despite being housed in an old building accessibility is good.
They have a huge amount of Lego for the Lego club and the staff are always really welcoming. Would strongly recommend, for both regular events and one off shows and open days.
M. K.
A great community arts centre with a lot of events, comfortable seats, good bar and really pleasant staff.
B. S.
Super place to take the younger kids. Lots of fun things to do and make. Tiger who came to tea was on today lots of dressing up items Mog, Tiger and many more.
Very well done kids just loved it, talked about all the way home. Good cafe and great staff.
Will be going again, pay and display parking right by the door. Fab bag of sweets for 50p.
W. D.
What a fantastic venue. It was the first time I've been here, I came with my son. The show was brilliant, the cafe great value and the space bursting with activities, creativity and invention; so inspirational for young minds.
C. J.
Great place, there’s lots going on here! Visited for the gruffalo books tour and had so much for the kids to do, the secret room all decked out with scenes from their favourite books as well as fancy dress too!
After you could go and watch a film in the mini cinema room and then arts and crafts upstairs to keep all entertained! Plenty of coffee and cake available from the cafe for the adults too!
K. T.
My 3 year old and I went here to see the Tiger who came to Tea. Friendly and helpful staff, a lovely atmosphere and the show/play was brilliant.
L. R.
Great creative space within Hulme. Multiple spaces and groups to get involved with.
C. R.
We went here with our little one over Christmas (2019) to see Twinkle Twinkle. It was really entertaining and we enjoyed it. It wasn’t our first visit and I doubt it will be our last. As well as plays and events they have a lovely cafe and activities for kids to keep them entertained
E. M.
There are a great range of performances and events going on at Z arts year round. The building is lovely and accessible, the prices are good and the cafe is excellent. I always worry about parking but to be honest I've never had an issue finding an on street space here.
T. T.
took my niece to see the tiger who came for tea ..she loved every minute and the outdoor activities afterwards were an added bonus 💕 thinking of taking her to the drama taster sessions end August the staff were wonderful so friendly and great with the children would highly recommended and will be visiting again soon 💕💕😍
c. j.
Brilliant place and people, would highly recommend a visit. Especially fir young children under 10!! Thank you fir a super time!!
C. J.
Went to see 'the world in a book' event that brought Julia Donaldson's books to life, as well as the one about 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' last year - amazing! We were totally emersed in the worlds of the stories, highly recommended. Cafe great too, though very slow service.
Z. H.
Building with character. Very helpful and friendly staff. Spacious refreshment area. The toilets were a little dated and dirty. Performances from the 3 schools as part of the Shakespeare Schools were all excellent.
V. S.
Another amazing local facility which we are so lucky to have. The bright sparks scheme for families and young children is fantastic value and offers dancing, art , yoga, lego club, film and so much more. The cafe is nice, recently refurbed it's got a good play area and great theatre too.
C. R.
We visited Z-arts yesterday with our daughter for the Relaxed performance of the Julia Donaldson experience and were very impressed by the staff who were most welcoming and accommodating. It was great to feel relaxed ourselves .We will definitely be coming back.
Thanks,
Colette
H. H.
Great, imaginative theatre shows for kids about once per month - touring shows from all over the country. Roughly £6.50-£12 per ticket. Good cafe with nice coffee and paninis etc for lunch. Cafe v busy on show days but just right other days.
J. J.
Decent place. Serves the community well.
N. N.
I found myself being the +1 with my sister and nephew for a "Toddlertastic" session at Z Arts. This was our first visit to a session at this venue and we found the reception staff really friendly and helpful. The session was free, although we did have to pay an initial membership fee of £10.00.
The session took place on the lower ground floor in a brightly coloured space below the reception area and was quite full! We ended up leaving early because my nephew wasn't feeling well (kids eh!) but overall I really liked the feel of the place. We'll be looking into signing up for some of the dance classes for the older children in our family.
M. F.
Friendly enthusiastic and helpful staff
Nicely laid out. Had a great time at Fairytales Gone Bad. My 8 year old daughter loved it. Witty and imaginative production. We saw Zombie-tells. A great experience all round
j. s.
Fantastic venue friendly and helpful people! Have been a number of times and will many more! I thoroughly reccomend it!
L. H.
Really good for little toddlers and active babies.
M.
Visited the Julia Donaldson World inside a book exhibition with our 3 year old and newborn today and wanted to say thankyou.
Amazing experience with really well made/designed sets that brought the books to life.
Our little boy who has read all the stories loved it all and really enjoyed the dressing up and interaction.
Special thanks also to the staff who not only made the experience but also helped me and calmed my little boy down when it got a little too much for him, massive help especially when carrying a 8 week old.
Thanks again, will be back soon.
L. G.
This is a lovely performance space. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very much in the heart of the community and offers a good mix of events, usually suitable for the whole family to enjoy. First visit and I loved it!
C. H.
It looks a bit tired but I see it just before it closes so probably a lot nicer during the day when more people are around and the cafe is open. Loads of different rooms for different activities. Very friendly staff and always helpful with a smile ☺
B. O.
Amazing place, we went for the Julia Donaldson book event which was amazing both my kids (2 and 6) really enjoyed it. They serve food too although we didn't purchase any it looked and smelt lovely.
R. H.
Wonderful place, I take my children regularly as they have loads of events on for all ages. Very good reasonable price cafe too (with play area) if you just want somewhere to meet and grab a drink.
S. R.
Amazing gem of a place. We brought our two to a lovely party here for the Julia donaldson exhibition, it's amazing. And we will be back next year to see the Judith kerr.
S. C.
We took our two children to see High School Musical today. It was absolutely brilliant. The cast were fantastic and the band and production amazing. Really good to see the young people of manchester producing such a good show. Staff lovely- my daughter was fortunate enough to be sang happy birthday on stage. Thank you for making her birthday extra special! Amalee loved sharpay!
J. M.
Brilliant!! Z Arts is THE place for childrens arts and you should give them every penny you've ever made!!
D. I.
Fantastic place that really is a world inside books! My grandson was fascinated by Room on a Broom and all his other Julia Donaldson faves. Don't miss it!
A. H.
We always have a great time here. Great shows, facilties and food.
G. B.
The kids loved the immersive fairy tale show.
H. N.
Amazing Julia Donaldson exhibition!!! Z-arts just needed to be more prepared for mum's and kids wanting lunch afterwards. Not great! It felt like they were under staffed and had only got minimal things for the kids lunch box deal. Bananas weren't ripe and only had pickled onion space invaders or spicy crisps as an option.
R. B.
My 6 year old daughter does ballet attitude and street dance elemental on a Saturday morning and loves it. Very affordable membership - we are in our third year.
N. H.
How many stars would you give A World Inside A Book out of 5?

Great venue and brilliant staff, we had a wonderful afternoon with our niece and as you can see from the above comment she loved it, we all did.
M. L. C. (. C.
What a fab venue! Great for all things arts, families and children. The venue feels safe, secure and has a strong community vibe about it. Popular with my artist friends, as well, which is testament to the venue.
H. h. W.
A fabulous creative hub. Try to not drive as the atmosphere is welcoming and the cakes and bar ample. Relax in the knowledge you are aiding the children's creativity and putting back to the arts.
J. P.
We always love bringing our toddler here to see one of the performances for young children. Most recently, the World Inside a Book immersive experience.
P. R.
Lovely location for a training course. The staff are great and freindly. The food provided was very tasty. And fair prices overall for the room etc. Environment itself if very energetic and happy.
J. L.
Good little place in Manchester. Drove from Liverpool with the children to visit the Gruffalo interactive experience. It wasn't too bad, lasted 45 minutes which didn't really seem worth the money or the journey there.
p. w.
This is the best place every for young people to get involved with crafts and arts under the watchful eye of amazing staff. The list is endless of the amazing opportunities that can be gained here. Can't rate it enough.
A. B.
We go to Z arts on regular basis to watch performances by MMY, Manchester Musical Youth. They use it as a performance venue but they also use it as a rehearsal studio and the staff who run the Venue have always been exceptional and extremely helpful with all of our requirements as a family
A. G.
Great place for families. We've got the annual membership who allows you to go to all regular activities for free. Family shows are really good.

J. L.
We just went to see Michael Rosen's Bear Hunt, and have previously visited for a Christmas Show. Really varied performances and excellent prices, as well as offering a multitude of groups and training for local users - at subsidised prices so that it isn't just for people with load of cash.
M. M.
Very good place for children and families with lot of things to do. Cafe and children's play area could be improved, but we still have a good time in Z-arts.
L. P.
