The village of Lampley is the impressive 13-arch bridge over the former Alston branch of the Newcastle and Carlisle railways in 1852.
England Buildings, Northumberland. N Pevsner. 1992
Shortly after leaving Haltwhistle, we took the river south because the River Tyne turned in that direction. Featherstone crossed his castle by an old arched bridge and footbridge as it spanned the tree-lined riverbank and climbed much steeper than before. On the recently constructed Diamond Oak Road Bridge, past the stunning Rambury Railway Bridge, is one of the most impressive bridges in the entire state of Tyne. The former Haltwhistle Railroad Alstom Branch was never far from the river as you went up the valley.
it is nice to go there in early morning and have a photograph of the sunshine very relaxing view

Beautiful 19th century railway viaduct, better than Hadrian's Wall, nice sounds comes from little waterfall! And it's free.
