Reviews of The Biscuit Factory

Welcoming staff, beautiful conversion of an industrial warehouse to a light, creative and airy space. Innovative displays of a range of artists work at reasonable prices. Opportunity to hire out activity rooms and a beautiful cafe in the terrace.
C. R.
A wonderful gallery with a great selection of art, glass, jewellery and sculpture.
A very lovely restaurant with excellent food.
Certainly worth a visit.
M. L.
Great place to spend a few hours looking at some great art. If it was only for the art the place would get 4 stars.
The coffee is okay but there are better places for coffee. The menu is okay too.
Watch your bill, mine came in 14% error

I always consider it a privilege to go and see art for free, even more so when the place is a commercial gallery with no public funding. I would pay £3 just to look at all the art displayed here.
I'll certainly be returning, if not to view more art, then to eat/drink at the lovely roof terrace cafe/restaurant which has a very relaxed vibe and is bordered with plants.
A variety of styles of contemporary art are on display using different mediums eg acrylic, watercolour, oil, giclee, created on board, canvas, linen etc. Even if some of the art doesn't appeal to you, I think everyone can find something here that they like. The second floor is my favourite because of the paintings, but the ground floor also has ceramics and jewellery, if your interested in these things. All items displayed are for sale.
There is also a small bookshop, artist studios to rent, and workshops available on some days.
The place has lots of natural light but also good use of spotlights in darker areas.
Really enjoyable visit, and since its just a 9 minute walk from my apartment, I'll definately be back.
E. m.
Enjoyed my time wandering among art pieces of different themes and colours 🎨
I. H.
Very lovely place to visit. They have nice artworks which are very interesting and diverse. Some of the artists use materials like newspapers to create valuable arts. I had dinner there that was great. I highly recommend it.
M. N.
Lovely rooftop restaurant, brunch was lovely, great value with lovely staff. The art gallery is amazing, all in all a lovely morning spent here.
S. A.
What a fantastic and interesting place. Food was lovely , luckily the weather was good and was able to have lunch on the terrace. A lovely chap served us very professional and helpful. I will be going again , this will be a favourite of mine.
B. P. C.
Amazing place with lot of interesting art proposals to enjoy.
J.
Great gallery with a rooftop café that is well designed. Visited on a sunny morning and it was pleasant.
J. B.
Attended nephews wedding. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Very nice food.
J. P.
A fabulous gallery ina quiet street in Newcastle. There's plenty of excellent art to view (and buy, if it speaks to you). Then, I'd recommend eating the delicious cakes at the gallery's cafe!
F. F.
Amazing small wedding venue. Very helpful staff.
K. R.
I'm not usually a great art afficionado, but there was so much to see here that even I could have stayed all day.
D. O.
Learn about local Artists, maybe buy a piece? Or, have an excellent breakfast with a lovely Tea or Coffee. Roof top terrace is worth a visit.
P. H.
Discovered this place today. Wonderful variety of contemporary art in a great location - an ex-biscuit factory in the Ouseburn arts and crafts area. Loved some of the exhibits, mourned the cost of contemporary art. The restaurant looks pretty shi-shi too ....
D. A.
Fab gallery staffed by some very helpful people
M. D.
What a fantastic gallery! I've never seen so much high quality contemporary artwork - paintings, jewellery, sculpture, ceramics - I would have happily bought the lot! (Except I can't afford any of it.) These are exceptionally talented artists and it's a gorgeous venue to see their work in.
Were tempted by the set menu in the artisan restaurant but were not hungry enough so had lunch upstairs in the cafe instead. Generously portioned and perfectly cooked, we loved the eggs royale and the avocado toast. Lots of art on the walls throughout the cafe so you can ignore the building works outside!
P. S.
Went for brunch...nice food, terrace is covered, and was quite hot under the glass. Quick look around the art showed some unusual and some pricy pieces, but nice enough (if u into such things)
L. W.
absolutely love it...poached egg with spicy sausage on toast was amazing...lovely venue...the art was delightful and also the setting on the terrace was lovely and relaxing....great place to try!! lisa williams carlisle x
P. N.
Fantastic gallery, some great exhibitions
A. S.
Our favourite place we had our first date they 12 years later we are getting married we love the place great food as well
N. A.
If you're looking for a place to kill a few hours browsing some beautiful art, then the Buiscut Factory is for you. I also highly recommend the cafe. Food is simple but lovely and always well prepared.
G.
Fancy cafe but got a bacon sandwich for my picky child. Own Art scheme is great if you see any artwork you fancy - I am buying a sculpture over 10 months.
A. M.
SO delighted it was open for my visitors and myself to hang out in. They were in awe at the well-crafted artifacts, so many new views. We enjoyed the cafe twice!! Thank you, Biscuit Factory, for being open on the day after Boxing Day.
L. C.
Some lovely peices of delicate ceramic, unusual glass both functional and decorative. Abstract and clinical paintings in monochrome and vibrant colour. (I thought Ed did a lot of paintings until I realised it was short for edition). Some could be bought a little cheaper unframed.
There was quirky and beautiful jewellry. Upstairs there were lifelike sculptures of animals, and avant garde furniture the mad hatter would love. There were one or two small items for £5 and under (I thought it was an art installation until I realised they were magnetic flowers) however most things had a considerably higher price tag.
J. M. F.
Great setting for some delicious food whether brunch, lunch, salad or cake and coffee. Even better on the terrace on a warm day!
Lovely staff
R. F.
Very beautiful artwork, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a place to eat. All in all it was very enjoyable. Highly recommended!
A. L.
An breath taking place filled with different art pieces 😍❤️
K. S.
The most delicious meal and such lovely staff. Highly recommend.
A. D.
A great rooftop cafe, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food is very good and the coffee is great as well.
Sits within a art and design gallery which is very good.
T. K.
This was an interesting gallery with artist studios, displays of art items on sale, and interactive projects, such as the colouring of ceramic flowers made by them.
I loved the variety of items. If only I had an unlimited source of funds ... I would have bought so many of the displayed items.
We also had snacks and coffee at their cafe.
P. M.
Lovely gallery. Artwork well presented
Light and bright.
Friendly staff in cafe
Hard to find
R. S. (.
We only went for breakfast. The restaurant on their first floor is not well sign posted!
Food is good though. Great views from the top.
T. H.
Some weird stuff but that's art for you! You'll need deep pockets if anything takes your fancy. Nice café.
m.
The Biscuit Factory is the site of a former warehouse and used in the manufacturing of biscuits. Which explains the name. Now it’s a wonderful gallery of the a excellent collection contemporary art and exhibition space. The exhibits are a mix of paintings, arts and crafts, ceramics, glassware and some truly stunning bespoke jewellery across two floors, most of which are for sale. Some expensive, some reasonably priced.
There’s also two restaurants in the building, one on each floor.
B. F.
Amazing as always, I was taken there by my son and girlfriend for Mother's Day, the sun was shining so we were offered a table on the terrace, what a beautiful day, beautiful food and company 😍
J. L.
Had the flat bread and houmous with cauliflower salad. It tasted lovely. Service was really slow (inexplicably so), tables were left dirty, dishes not cleared and food took more than 30 minutes to come out. For a lunch time eatery, I couldn't recommend (purely based on speed). The food is of a good quality though.
A. R.
Something for everyone. Lots of different mediums, styles and genres. Wonderful displays. A great afternoon out!
j. b.
Discovered this place while doing the design trail of Great North exhibition and want to come again! Superb art gallery - loved their pottery. Restaurant had a great menu with excellent interior and we're going to come one evening to try tasting menu. They have a small room which you can have for private functions. Update Dec - love the cafe too! Scrummy spicy beans on sourdough with either crispy bacon or egg. Quiche also looked gorgeous. New exhibition was excellent and we were there an enjoyable hour
P. R.
Great art gallery with lots of different artists and a nice cafe bar with a nice outdoor terrace space
C. R.
Went there to attend an indoor market.
Visited cafe inside the Biscuit Factory. Very nice latte and breakfast stottie.
R. C.
Very cool art gallery with an amazing cafe. Cafe could do a variety and very generous portions. Food sourced locally so you get a real taste of the region. Would absolutely recommend and will visit again.
d. T.
High quality arts and crafts for sale with a wonderful cafe on the top floor. Staff very friendly
B. R.
Excellent art selection. Very helpful staff.
Food was very delicious.
K. s.
Quiet and comfortable. A good place for art people.
T. P.
Love this place, particularly the cafe. The roof terrace is beautiful and the food is really good value.
M. L. (.
Really good experience looking at all the art. Lots of different varieties of art. Would recommend as a little stop if you are interested in art. Has a cafe inside that serves food and drink. Great stop and friendly staff.
G. N.
Quite a good selection of artists and a well laid out gallery. Excellent food in the cafe too.
p.
I went to see the Jim Moir AKA Vic Reeves exhibition and it was great. There was lots of other great art there too
A. K.
There is something here for every budget, and as with all art there are things you'll love and others you just don't feel or like but that's all good. Great to have a look around and then go and grab a bite. The café is a gem. At last I found somewhere that says they serve food in a stottie and it is just that a lovely chewy stottie. I last had a stottie brunch and the Cumberland sausage was full of flavour. I'd go there just for the café but you get a treat for your eyes and mouth. My trouble is anything 3d I just want to touch.
A. S.
Lovely outdoor/indoor eating experience perfect for changeable weather. Food and service impeccable as always. Loved the living walls of begonias.
C. T.
One of my favourite places to visit when in Newcastle. Lovely Art gallery and we had lunch on the fooftop garden. It was a lovely warm day and the food was delicious, service was very quick as well. A lovely choice for lunch with friendly courteous staff.
J. R.
A visit to the Biscuit Factory just lifts your spirits! Beautiful and innovative art and sculpture wherever you look, comfy sofas to rest on and a lovely restaurant too.
D. S.
On yesterday's agenda we walked to The Biscuit Factory. Not one single digestive in sight!
It was a pleasant 15 minute walk from our hotel which is by the train station.
It's not a biscuit factory at all. It's actually an art gallery. 2 floors and something for everyone, even if artwork isn't your thing. Really interesting.
There is a lovely rooftop cafe. They use locally sourced ingredients which I always love to see. And the icing on the cake is, entrance is free.
N. S.
Good food and drink. Friendly. Great atmosphere. Interesting art and ceramics and crafts
B. M.
Not visited cafe for a long time but great art work and a pleasant way to while away an hour or so
D. L.
Interesting art gallery with works by a range of artists working in various media and styles, so something to please all tastes provided that your pockets are deep enough. There's also a pleasant café with friendly table service and a good range of snacks and drinks. The combination makes for a worthwhile visit.
C. C. (.
Fantastic art displays you can buy. Lovely building. Great cafe.
J. B.
Beautiful art and jewellery. Delicious food. 10/10 recommended for a morning out.
M. M.
Great art gallery, great experience, ready beautiful paintings.
Unfortunately No biscuits 🤣
A. B.
Very nice place to visit. Different works of art. If you have money can buy what you want.
D. W.
Lovely afternoon tea, beautiful setting, wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended 👌
T. B.
Cosy neighbourhood hut. Warm genius loci. Did not want to leave the gorgeous toilet. However, if you can avoid the café, do it. It looks like a service station on the M6 motorway.
H. C.
Excellent art gallery showcasing lots of talented artists. Nice to see the variations of art mediums. Coffee in the cafe was lovely too
M. O.
Went in with my husband for a wander after hearing so much about it. We came out amazed at how much we liked the art across the gallery. Very high quality pieces and nice atmosphere overall. Looking forward to our next visit.
V. R.
Great place to see some.art crafts sculptures in a relaxed environment.then enjoy a coffee. Delicious cake or.something more.substantial in their light welcoming cafe.
J. R.
It was great. We had a gorgeous brunch in the coffee shop upstairs. I had eggs benedict with an americano. Sorry, no pictures attached. Too busy stuffing our faces!
D. W.

C. B.
Some lovely art, a nice cafe and a pleasant place to visit.
K. C.
A great place to see some modern arts over a lunch or coffee.
M. I.
Fantastic place if you want to buy some art. Nice cafe with friendly staff.
M. S.
Fabulous range of art on display. Enjoyed a lovely brunch in cafe.. Great service. Thank you
A. G.
Some fine art pieces a little expensive but the cafe nice treat
i. K.
Food is all lovely. You can enjoy your breakfast, brunch or lunch. Strongly recommend the pistachio/rose cake. Close to city centre but also allocated free parking is available. If you are interested in art, before or after ypur food you can have a look around. Terrace has lovely views. The only problem is it closes at 5pm.
n. g.
Great place for a wedding party or other celebration. Artworks are fantastic and keenly priced supporting local (and not so local) artists - well worth a visit
S. A.
Great showroom for artist. Excellent restaurant.
T. W.
Good range of artwork, something for everyone. Cafe was worth a visit menu choice was good at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit
J. H.
Gorgeous art gallery and lovely light lunches available.
D. H.
Beautiful place to visit with great rooftop views of the city
K. K.
Beautiful café, interesting but very expensive art. Everything in the gallery is for sale but the prices are so high they tend to distract you from appreciating the art.
T. B.
A lovely place for coffee, lunch etc and brilliant to look round the arts and crafts etc
K. B.
Expensive art! For an artist, it's a good to go but for layman this one can be skipped.
d. f.
If your into buying art or just want to appreciate some fabulous pieces of work then you will love this place . The Cafe is also worth a visit, I don't think you will be disappointed.
G. B.
Beautiful, sun-soaked cafe and delicious coffee!
A. R.
Lovely food and coffee. Different veggie options which is great.
T. A.
Great place to visit simply to look at the art or enjoy the cafe or both
S. C.
Wonderfully designed building, on a sunny day the light comes streaming through the windows and lights up every corner of the gallery. I was primarily here for a teapot making class- which I loved! - but the little wander myself and my friend took afterwards around the gallery was lovely. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Easily accessible by wheelchair, no small gaps anywhere that couldn't be adjusted if necessary. Wonderful.
J. M.
A great venue to see regional art, be it prints, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, glass or jewelry - with exceptionally helpful staff to lead you through the maze of contemporary art.
J. J.
Visited the place two days ago. A variety of collections from different art schools with ample space to get different perspectives. The architecture is refined and was a worthy visit.
S. O.
Visiting this place is a very thought provoking and artistic experience. A wealth of talented artists have their work on show, theres a fab funky modern cafe and the food in the restaurant is of a very high standard. The seasonal displays of new up and coming artists is a great idea and they also do hands on craft classes which are very enjoyable and a great way to be involved.
D. C.
Lovely gallery. I love it!
S. C.
Brunch in the lovely conservatory. The shakshuka was delicious and the hazelnut & cinnamon meringue was the right amount of sweet (and naughty!). The safety measures were such that we both felt relaxed and could enjoy our natter. It helps that you have to walk through the gallery to get to the café too. Would definitely recommend and will probably be back next week!!
N. A.
Amazing place!!! Very classy and very friendly at the same time!!!
S. N.
Really nice brunch place with a cute view!
G. F.
Very well refurbished independent art gallery, with paintings, jewellery and ceramics to buy and excellent café/restaurant.
M. R.
Really interesting place with so many pieces of art from very creative people. Also, free to enter.
S. R.
Love this gallery. There is always a fantastic range of art, jewellery, ceramics and glass. The staff are friendly and professional. There is never any pressure to buy. In addition the cafe and bistro serve delicious food.
R. P.
Had works do here last week, it was really nice. The only criticism I have is that there were a lot of canopies being served but not enough waiters with prosecco. The meal was lovely but the chocolate dessert wasn't great.
D. S.
Interesting and eclectic collection of modern art. We were there for a business dinner and function and the biscuit factory made for a relaxed and pleasant place to enjoy event hospitality! Some art wasn't to my taste but I find that with art. Also it makes you think about what the artist was trying achieve. I liked Gordon Wilson's stuff the best!
I. J.
Great food, lovely setting.
G. S.
Great to be back. Food and service great as always. Best cheese scones and coffee ever!
S. S.
Some wonderful works
Could spend a small fortune here!
M. J.
We know about the Biscuit Factory and for some reason we never go. Perhaps it's because of the small child or an idea that we would never get parked for free round there. However I took the small child (and parked for free) and apart from me spending most of the time saying ' don't run!' and 'don't touch!' we both had a really great time. There were loads of really accessible and interesting things to see and I've fallen in love with the ceramics all over again. I was surprised by how much space there is in the cafe and we had a great experience there of very attentive and friendly staff. We're planning to come back for brunch soon....
J. R.
It has a variety of art, using different mediums. It wasn't stuffy like some art galleries I've been to that. It was bright and modern. It was also interesting to see the artists studios in the basement, and meet some of them.
The Artisan restaurant on the ground floor is very nice, with good service and food. We went as a treat for lunch and they have a lunchtime menu, which makes it a bit cheaper.
R. M.
Amazing art, beautifully and skillfully curated in a wonderful space. The variety and quality of the art
work on display is truly breathtaking. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and inviting. I have visited the gallery many times over the last 5 years times and every time I go I am more impressed - it's outstanding.
If you're visiting the North East of England this should definitely be on your "must see" list.
S. L. (.
Absolutely lovely place to go!
m. u.
Some really excellent work displaying a range of art and crafts.
K. W.
Amazing range of art all displayed in a beautiful building. Prices range from low to high but can be paid for over 10 months with the excellent Government Schemme 'Own Art' .
Great place to meet for lunch.
T. H.
Love the gallery and the food is great (especially the salads, awesome concoctions!). Really want the wooden book coffee table, just need a better income to afford!
J. L.
Always interesting art. Nice to go for an open evening. Friendly staff and nice to see crafts people demonstrating their skills.
Cafe has lovely food, great service.
J. M.
A wide range of art and crafts, all of high quality, a wide range of prices, even the more expensive are available with 10 months free credit. A very worthwhile visit. A nice coffee and scone, interesting selection for lunch.
B. K.
A nice place to visit, but the service in the cafe is poor. Visited today and it was very quiet, waited over 15 mins to be served a coffee and it only arrived after a reminder to the staff. It was eventually brought to the table with not a word of apology for the waiting time. Heaven help them on busy days.
L. D.
Really nice building with a great collection of artwork - spent over an hour perusing the collections last time I was here. Staff were really friendly and a nice a café too. Looking forward to visiting again when I'm next in the area.
T. P.
Near perfect art buying environment. Staff fab. Cafe excellent..
e. a.
Art for lunch! The foraged mushroom special was without a doubt the best lunch I had in Newcastle all week. Not to mention, the coffee..so real, not freeze-dried. Browse all the art, and books. Even the bathroom is decorated with care. Worth the stop!
J. A.
Fabulous gallery, love it! Jane is always super helpful, friendly and a great great help when choosing art.
A. D.
Excellent displays of a wide variety of artwork, some pieces very affordable. Add polite, courteous and knowledgeable employees, workshops below the galleries, the café above with views of the Ouseburn and Byker Wall, good food and coffee: what's not to like? One of my favourite places.
H. M.
Excellent exhibitions of contemporary art, and you can buy the works that take your fancy.
But these aren't ordinary pieces, they are beautiful, strange, and infinitely liveable-with artworks as painting and sculpture, wall hanging and conversation pieces, and jewellery.
Often have artists' evenings, and there is an excellent café
P. A.
Fabulous collection of art from around the region, some reasonably priced and affordable. The ceramics and jewellery were particularly good when I visited - wonderful designs. The Biscuit Factory will be on my list of places to visit every time I travel to Newcastle.
T. C.
Great food! Great art...but pricey.
c. w.
Great gallery. Always have a selection to suit all tastes and all pockets. Paintings, ceramics, prints, sculpture, jewellery, glass. Beautiful building. Nice cafe. Park across the road in the Holy Biscuit car park.
R. H.
Set in amongst countless large student accomodations, this little Pearl is an interesting find. I should preamble this by saying I am no art connoisseur, so whilst the variety impressed me, the art itself mostly left me cold. That said the variety of forms was interesting. The high light was the cafe! Sorry but true. If you love art you will disagree with me. Fine by me.
I. M.
Some amazing pieces in the gallery/shop. Also a fantastic space. The cherry on top was the brilliant cafe.
P. R.
My niece got married here. If you like modern art, this is a good place to go. Very well set out and interesting. Wedding was amazing just like the surrounding.
J. S.
I enjoyed going here as the artwork and pieces were very colourful there is something about the way things are made that i like its more up to date and modern than other museums depending on individual taste, The artwork and pieces can be bought but the prices are very expensive. There is a cafe inside where they sell food and drink its very modern and up to date i would visit again.
A. d.
Some canny stuff but by God you need deep pockets. Lovely table as shown.
A. F.
Great place to visit, interesting paintings, nice cafe with rooftop terrace. Well worth a visit.
R. W.
Visited to see Jim Muirs exhibition. Enjoyed the visit. Many great pieces.
D. M.
This is an excellent art gallery where all the work is for sale (but not cheap!) Really enjoyed walking around the two floors which are packed with artworks. Then there is the cafe which is to a high standard and very reasonably priced.
B. B.
Visit the Baltic then come here to see "Proper" art by local and national artists of note. Not just painting but all sorts of art of a high standard i. e. showing skill out of the ordinary. On top of this there is excellent food available. We'll worth the short walk out of the city centre.
J. &. V. P.
Absolutely love this place for a browse of what creative people are making. This time we bought a horse by Zoe Robinson. Loved the young artists exhibition and added our vote to see who will win.
E. B.
A great space to showcase talented arts and crafts. Highly recommend on a trip to Newcastle, and upstairs the cafe is fantastic to refuel or indulge.
C. F.
Really impressed with the venue, it is light and airy and the art work was beautifully displayed. The cafe offers a wonderful array of lunch options, cakes and gorgeous ice cream.
A. P.
Great place to view and buy art although prices you would expect. Lovely building. Cafe needs improvement: Expensive, massive portions, tea and cakes were terrible.
G. M.
For lovers of art and the artesan, satisfaction is guaranteed at this favourite venue just 10 minutes walk from Newcastle's Millennium bridge.
P.
Fantastic contemporary gallery with lots to see. All exhibits are for sale. Recommend a stop in rooftop café for a cheeky hot chocolate- was delicious. Car parking is free and additional spaces are situated at the rear.
C. F.
Not what I had expected going in, but was pleasantly surprised! The Biscuit Factory is set up like an art gallery where all the pieces are for purchase. On the outside it looks rather small but once you are inside, you are able to see how many items and how individually unique each piece is! I loved that most of the pieces were created by people from the Newcastle area/ Newcastle themed pieces.
N. B.
Had not been for a couple of years and was better than ever. Key appeal is having something for everyone. Mike Moor prints and Tristan Lathey sculptures highlight this visit. Excellent gallery
M. R.
Great place to visit! The artwork is beautiful and interesting and displayed well! If you're looking for something to do definitely check out this place! The art is reasonably priced as well!
G. D.
One of my all time fave places to go in town. Great gallery although I kick myself for not buying things I like then a year later they've got so famous I can't afford em....
Lovely space. Great café. Yet to try the restaraunt.
R. S.
Pop in if you are in Newcastle. Beautiful art including jewellery and glass for sale. No pressure to buy . Cafe is worth a visit alone. Outside terrace so great if the weather is good.
W. S.
Lovely alfresco brunch on the upstairs terrace then mooched around the gallery for a bit. Very pleasant and relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning. Art work available on credit.
M. T.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good menu and a brilliant art gallery!
C. P.
Biscuit rooms, good space but poorly organised for parking. I attended an event and the main car park was out of use due to soil being delivered so I had to park in a limited time space and move my car half way through. Event organiser didn't remind people to do this as planned. When we left the event the car park hadn't been touched. A stressful start to the day.
C. G.
Great venue for the IPPR North Economic Justice event. Refreshments great too. But even better service. My mobile ran down and they found a charger so I could sort out my trip home!
E. P.
Lovely outside area. Plenty of food choices. Suitable for veggies and vegans.
B.
Very pleasant, lovely cafe, excellent menu, interesting art collection....worse ways to spend an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon! Four stars became disability access poorly marked 😞
F. A.
Lovely variety of art and environment! There is lots to see and variety of price range for those looking to buy. These is overflow parking and disabled parking, however, only about 20-30 spaces
C. D.
This place is a nice modern art gallery with a lovely glass fronted upstairs restaurant cone coffee place and I believe there is also outside dinning available too....well worth a look around and if you’re not short of a bob or two you could even purchase a splendid piece of art too..
C. W.
Now I would rate this higher but me and my party of young travellers were severely disappointed upon following signs for a biscuit factory only to find a contemporary art gallery, not a biscuit in sight! I'm not much of an arty man but some of the peices were interesting to say the least. By the nine the cafe was exquisite! I must recommend the burnt honey ice cream and zesty lemon water I never had anything like It! Overall, a good way to kill an hour and it's convenient location from Logan's flat makes it easy to deliver the regular shipments of shovels and office chairs that I have to drop off to him.
N. S.
Great paintings and sculptures which are all for sale. This means that the displays are constantly changing. Nice coffee shop on the top floor which looks out onto Byker.
R. A.
Loved this place. We viewed the art and popped into the cafe for coffee and cake. A good way to kill a few hours. I'm not even into art but there was enough there to keep my attention.
j. h.
The gallery is a great venue to look at art that is 'Art' you won't find unmade beds, animals in formaldehyde or sculptures in blood. You will see talented works by talented artists. Great venue.
R. M.
Every so often they run a "Supper club" in conjunction with an event to view a new collection. The supper club meal, in the café, is great quality and excellent value, with friendly staff and service. You can view the art on display before or after the meal and it makes for a really relaxed evening. You have to book separately for the supper club.
A. J.
Really enjoy visiting this gallery each time I go. Interesting range of local artists and enjoy both looking in the gallery and shop sections. Great place to find gifts for friends and family.
M. P.
A literal jewel. Full of highest quality art and craft to buy, beautifully displayed on 2 floors.
H. A.
Interesting old industrial cleverly recycled to provide excellent art and craft centre. Wide range of work by good variety of artists with something for everyone. Cafe and restaurant facilities on site.
P. B.
A rich mix of talented people in one place that is well worth a visit. The food is very good, a quiet and tasteful atmosphere. Coffee and cake is well worth it.
B. T.
An amazing place...with wonderful roof terrace cafe.. excellent food and service.
A. T.
I always love coming to the biscuit factory....the variety of artwork and the quality is outstanding. You can put things aside and pay in instalments which is great if you can’t afford it straight away. What is not to like ???
S. R.
Great gallery with a massive range of artwork in a lovely space. Also, the food at the adjoining café is excellent.
R. P. Y.
Great service and delicious food in a surprising rooftop café/restaurant, not forgetting some beautiful and inspiring pieces of art.
L. B.
Sow device with waiter using tablet ordering system. Took 10 mins to place order for 4 people.
m. w.
Interesting place
G. F.
