Great but limited display
Fantastic knowledgeable staff, they have great plans for the future. I look forward to going back 😊

This is a great local fossil museum with some very interesting and unique exhibits. They are highly enthusiastic and very helpful with expert local knowledge of the local fossils and collecting sites.
They are still building up their collection and facilities, and I would truly recommend a visit - as with all such ventures, they will only continue if supported, and can only improve and achieve their ambitions if paying customers visit.
Five stars for me because I really appreciate what the are doing, and for the enthusiasm they hold for the subject and for their vision.

Really lovely few hours spent here. It's a small place but has some impressive stuff. The staff are so nice and helpful. They spent ages talking to us and to the kids about dinosaurs and fossils.
The kids got to sift for sharks teeth and keep 3, which they were chuffed about too!

Fantastic museum... A must for anyone interested in dinosaurs and fossils. Very uncommercial and inspiring. You can get up close with the fossils and the man on the desk was brilliant at explaining and answering questions. Lovely things in the shop too!
Addition from my 8 year old: They sell dinosaur tooth/ammonite necklaces. Cool!

Visited 12th August followed by Fossil hunting in the afternoon.
Great morning visiting the museum good displays with plenty of stories. Oliver is a mind of information and knowledge that he puts across very well. We learnt loads and our family absorbed it.
Afternoon Fossil hunting with Oliver leading the group was fantastic. We found dinosaur fossils plus fossilised wood, sponges, shells and urchins.
As a warning you will spend every trip to the seaside for the rest of your holiday walking along looking down at rocks and pebbles!!
Great day out and a memorable great experience. Thanks again Oliver.

Very interesting dinosaur and other fascinating archaeological findings.
Quite small building but a great collection.
Great for a hour before heading to the beach to look and maybe find your own

Absolutely fabulous! This place is small but a perfect hidden gem. The gentleman on the front desk was charming, and full of so much knowledge and enthusiasm making for a really interesting and fun visit. My 12 year old is an aspiring palaeontologist so his interest in this was a given, but my 13 year old who has no interest in this type of subject left excited and intrigued too. Worth a visit.

If you like dinosaurs this is a MUST VISIT! Tremendous value. The entrance is easily missed so do use Google maps. They have a great wee collection and the team are incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They are living their best life slowly growing the attraction being completely hands on with visitors. It lacks the razzmatazz of the bigger Island centers.... given they are resource constrained... But look beyond that and the founders and team desire to share their passion/transfer wisdom/knowledge... and to recreate what simply was the storage location of the famous 90's dinosaur find of the biggest most complete dinosaur found... Back in the day people just showed up to see the works... over time it grew into a small attraction.... My twin 10 year olds loved it and especially the digging for fossil crocodile teeth - This team is worthy of your support and you will know that any extra you give in tips will be well used. Great work guys! Live your best life! Cant wait to pop back in future years - Good luck with your mission - I hope you get the financial support you deserve.

Quiet little place tucked away along military road but has a very dedicated and friendly staff, we spent 2 hours just pretty much talking to the guy who was working about everything.
I'm not perosnaly one for dinosaurs but had a really good time, definatly recommend to everyone!

Small but interesting museum situated in a working farm where part of a brachiosaurus skeleton was found. The only real drawback is that it is not very accessible by public transport, even at the height of summer (I visited in July).

We absolutely loved this place. The staff are friendly. All questions answered down to the very detail. It's worth a visit for his subject knowledge. And gives you the confidence to go and find a fossil. Free parking too.

Very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic people, suitable for all ages. I believe they do fossil hunts along the beach on certain days too.

Highlight of our hoilday in Isle of wight
Fantastic place and recommend anyone on the fence to go give this place a visit !!

Friendly staff, who was a font of local knowledge (especially on recent finds that are yet to be made public) My son also took along an interesting object that we had found at Compton that we believed to be a fossil, the staff member (who is a palaeontologist) took a quick look and was able to confirm it was a piece of fossilised wood. Although small at the moment it is run on a voluntary basis and is great value for money (if only for the great insites given by the staff) Throughly recommend and this place will only get bigger and better

Love this place. Been twice now. Not your state of the art museum but they far exceed your usual museum with creativity, fun stuff to do and staff that love what they do. The chap who runs it is so welcoming, knows his stuff and really good at engaging all ages. Well worth a visit, they also do fossil hunting tours on the beach which is great fun.

A gem of a visitor centre. Fairly small, but that is the beauty of it. Very personal advice and insight into fossils and IoW fossil history. Our boys, 8 & 6 we're thoroughly entertained for 1.5hrs. Too cheap to get in at £11 for a family!!! Should be £20+. Fantastic.

This is a trip you will want to do with or without kids. You are guided by a palaeontologist with immense local knowledge through millions of years and shown the wonders around you that you'd never noticed before. Our guide, Oliver, was absolutely brilliant, my whole family left after the two hours inspired by his insights and enthusiasm. I cannot rate this highly enough, Oliver was absolutely superb,

A knowledgeable team of people run this place. Fossil hunting tour with Megan was great fun on a beautiful sandy beach. We found 125 million years old fossil wood, etc. and if you are lucky you might find a dinosaur bone or tooth. A rewarding and equally relaxing activity for kids and grown ups alike.

The dinosaurs were very friendly and not at all as intimidating as I had at first assumed them to be. The one with the black patent leather cap and the duffel bag was most helpful. Especially when I discovered I'd left my face mask in the car.

What a great experience I and my daughter Jessie had. Oliver our guide was fantastic with a broad knowledge base of dinosaur and evolution history (although I must admit I'm a Cristian Creationist) he was very approachable and his passion for fossil collecting was outstanding, a man who clearly enjoys his job, was a great experience! We even found a Dinasour fossil and bagged plenty of other less rareaties such as fossilised wood and fools gold. The other adults and kids on our trip loved it! What a great range of dinasour jems hidden back at the museum afterwards. Such a great day out, and very addictive!! I will definitely be going again when we visit next time. I even managed to buy three larger dinasaur pieces from the museum sellables! I'm hooked what more can I say. Thank you Oliver for sharing your 22 years of experience with us and for less than a takeaway Pizza what an utter bargain. Our tickets also included a reduction to the museam which was an added bonus. Win win! Defo go and take this tour it's so worth while.

Very interesting insight into the dinosaur fossil discoveries at the IoW. Incredibly informative guide. Could have spent a couple of hours or so there but had to cut the visit short to get to next sight.

I love this place and Oliver who runs it is so enthusiastic about the subject he makes the whole experience an educational dream I would recommend any school to take its pupils here especially early in the season when they can enjoy a less crowded museum.

Good little museum tucked away from the touristy bits. We also booked a fossil walk on the local beach led by Oliver who is very knowledgeable.

Awesome little museum with some great walk and talks along the beach, all run by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
