Reviews of Newport Transporter Bridge Visitor Centre

It's an interesting and rather unique experience. Must walk over the top, unless you are afraid of heights of course. It's 50 metres high and it's a mesh floor so can see all the way down while walking across. There are 278 steps on each side so fitness is also needed beside courage. The wind is very strong at top, be careful with loose items, phones and cameras. In exchange for the effort the view from top is beautiful, can see the movement mechanism, and there's an easter egg from the past around the middle 😃

The transporter bridge is a Newport icon, with a beautiful gondola taking you over the Usk from West to East Newport & back again. A walk over the top is recommended (if you can manage the steps) for fantastic views of the estuary and city. It is closing in September 2020 for a couple of years of much-needed maintenance and hopefully a brand new, improved visitor centre. They are still fundraising for the money. Go and visit whilst you can. The Newport Museum & Art Gallery has a featured display about the Transporter Bridge, if you want to to visit there after your trip.

Oh my goodness so good I had to go twice.
This is closing though the end of Sept 2020 for 2 years so if your thinking of going do go.
The climb up was awesome and my nephew was scared but was jubilant he done it. My mother in law 83 went to the top magic she done it.
Felt like an achievement.
Only £4.00 and go up and on the pagola as many times as you want for the day.
Closed Monday and Tues.
The pagola ferry great.
The engineering is awesome to look at.
Amazing.

People come from many different countries to visit this iconic landmark. It's something that all Welsh people should be proud of as it's one of the few transporter bridges in the world that is still operational.
Walking across the top of the bridge gives marvellous views of Newport and beyond. The long walk up the stairs is well worth the effort and the staff are friendly as well as knowledgeable.
The bridge isn't open every day so it's worth checking online or with Newport city council for the exact opening times.
Certainly well worth a visit.

What a fantastic icon and a one off gem in Newports Crown. Staff really helpful and knowledgeable, especially Rob, looked a bit like Captain Birdseye, but very informative. Lots of info and artifacts to be seen at the local information centre. While I was there to walk over the top, I was joined by a guy who travelled up that morning from Cornwall, he read about it and decided to come up 👍 well worth a trip and do the walk over then return by the gondala, all for £4.
G. H.
What a fantastic place to visit, took the car over expecting clanks and bangs, but what a smooth ride it was. You have to visit even if you just want pics, it is truly amazing.
D. M.
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff, happy to talk and share their info. It wasn't busy when we visited, so we got very personal service. Flexible crossing options catered for my gung-ho 11 year old and less confident 8 year old.
W. D.
Friendly staff with a good sense of humour. You are able to walk up to the top of the bridge by taking the stairs, and walk back down. There are some wonderful views, but please be mindful of the wind. Getting your device out to take a picture will be a risk!
When I visited the prices were very good, and worth the cost!
J. S.
Extremely interesting place to visit. Unfortunately not open to travel on it so will have to return !
S. T.
There is a small information office where you can buy postcards or other stuff related to the bridge. There are boards with information regarding transporter bridges in general and a bit of history. It´s worth to spend £1.5 to cross to the other side on the platform! It goes a lot quicker than I imagined! It is probably also worth to cross the bridge through the top, by climbing up the stairs and walking but we didn't have a chance to try that this time...
G. K.
This is a great spot in Newport. Fun days most bank holidays and great fun for the kids especially when using it to cross the river. I mainly use it for photography as you can get some awesome shots especially when the sun is out and at high tide. Also looks beautiful at night when all lit up.
t.
I drive past this piece of history on a daily basis, never thought of giving it a look until my 8 year old wanted to go check it out.. can’t believe in all these years I’ve never given it a chance, iconic!! So enjoyed the climb, the view, the wobbly legs and the ride back over the usk.. we loved it all for £5
s. B.
I loved this apart from security guard being rude and saying your not taking that bottle up are you cuz ill be checking if you leave it up there. Apart from that the gift shop is amazing and the people who work there are amazing 100 percent recomend and im afraid of hights and i was lying down on it x
N. B.
The walk over was both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Its a historic and amazing feature of Newport
S. “. P. W.
The Newport Transporter Bridge is a very interesting landmark and I've always wanted to cross it as a child. Now that I have finally crossed it, it's safe to say it was a fun little experience (the bridge is faster than I thought it would be!).
R. C.
This is a great little visitor centre with friendly volunteer staff and plenty of information about the transporter bridge.
You can go over the bridge on foot or in a vehicle, or walk up the tower and over the top.
R. F.
Walked over top, great views on a clear day to Cardiff. Great price
R. R.
Great place to visit. The volunteers who run it are really helpful. The kids love riding on the gondola and looking up at the bridge
J. M.
Fantastic experience on a dry day if you're in to your old engineering. Guys and Girls who run it are really friendly and knowledgeable. Great views when walking across the top. A not so hidden gem in newport.
L. A.
Iconic Newport landmark. Not always open to cross but well worth parking up as I did to catch the morning light across the river and read the information boards.
A. M.
Fantastic experience, really got a sense of what the technology of the time was like and why the bridge was built as it was. Loved the walk over the top - including watching the gondola pass beneath us. Great value...
B. H.
Loves this place. Well worth a fiver to go over the top. But make sure you pick a clear day.
L. J.
Not for the faint hearted, but if you don't mind heights well worth visit & it's has good views at the top
I. E.
Team were so professional and very knowledgeable ...grand daughter was very impressed. Followed by a snack at Fanny's just a 2 minute walk. 5*
G. S.
1 of 5 working examples worldwide and in the most original condition. Come to Newport for a world beating experience.
J. C.
An exciting example of Victorian engineering, if you've seen the Middlesbrough bridge, this is similar, but the upper is a suspension bridge, not a girder
S. X.
Friendly & helpful volunteer staff. Great views from bridge walkway , not nearly as scary as it looks!
c. p.
Amazing experience
Such friendly staff a must do to tick off the list x
S. W.
Love the Transporter Bridge I always cycle past and always stop to take pics. Last week I walked over the top of the bridge, what an achievement for me 😂😂 the views were spectacular. Highly recommend it to anyone.
H. C.
This is a timeless piece of Newport history. One day I will be brave enough to walk over the top. Who am I kidding!
D. S.
An interesting piece of welsh industrial history. We only had a single trip across but it was worth the price for the experience and the fantastic views plus the kids loved it too.
P. O.
What an amazing experience! My family and I visited on a beautiful warm Autumn day, we used Google maps and found it easily . There is a small carpark and visitor centre where we were greeted by a lovely lady who was very informative and friendly. There were very interesting panels to read in the small centre and lots of very interesting models . We were then met by Claire and Tim who were absolutely brilliant and very knowledgeable, they explained what to expect and made us feel safe and welcome. There are 278 steps to the top of the structure, so I would say you have to be relatively fit but there are plenty of places to stop , catch your breath and take some photos! Wow what an awesome view from the top absolutely amazing and so worth the climb! There are hand sanitizer stations at strategic places so you feel safe and reassured . After climbing down the other side we only had to wait a few minutes for the gondola to appear ready to take us back to the visitor centre. We were incredibly lucky to have gone when we did as the Bridge will be closed for a couple of years while lots of renovations are carried out and a new bigger visitor centre and carpark are being built. A brilliant couple of hours !! Highly recommended!
D. C.
You can walk across the bridge it's terrifying but also great fun.
K. W.
Nice little climb. Security easy to avoid. Defo recommend
D. A. D.
I went over the top today! My first time, so now I have officially become a Newportonian. Feels good.
N. B.
A spur of the moment decision with my daughter. Staff were so friendly and helpful. A superb experience exploring more fantastic Welsh history in South East Wales. Mind blowing views from mind blowing Georgian engineering. The toilet on top is real!
A. M.
Interesting from an architectural point of view however when I visited it was closed
P. J.
Amazing piece of history, great views and awesome experience!
D. M.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Taken my car across on a few occasions before the new bridge was built.
D. F.
Fantastic day out on the bridge. Wonderful people, great views and a pleasure all round
k. h.
Very interesting piece of engineering. Well worth a visit.
k. p.
Was closed but it was brill flying our drones around it and over the river.. safely of course.
S. A.
You can actually walk across the awesome view worth doing
C. B.
It was awesome it was well worth it. The views are amazing. The staff were very friendly, helpful and just lovely.xx we walked up and over the bridge and got the gondola back. Will definitely do it again.xx
W. a.
Seasonal attraction, Easter to end of September. Impressive but couldn't go on it because I was too late. Have to wait till next year now
M. G.
The Newport Transporter Bridge is one of only a few remaining world wide that date from the days of talk ships. Originally providing a link across the River Usk for workers and goods this is a great place to visit. You can even walk over the top (lots of stairs and worrying but spectacular views) for a low cost. Wel with visiting when in the area. Check their website for opening hours.
M. W.
Amazing bridge and incredible views
D. O.
Glad I traversed this Victorian marvel. It appears very well preserved. Beautifully engineered.
M. G.
Great fun with rewarding views after climbing all those steps.
T. O.
Apparently such a icon of newport, however I live here and see this bridge every day of my life back n forth work, so boring to me now, what I would say is, if u haven't tried this bride give it a go because first timers will defo be woooowed.
This bridge used to be 50p to use, I tried it couple months back and they wanted 2.50, not alot of money but a massive jump for a bicycle
T. L.
Must be done. Walking across the top is amazing with great views and superb value for £3.
F. G.
Nice little walk to the top giving a great view of Newport.
C. D.
Great piece of technology, and still working
S. T.
Such an interesting experience. You need to be fit enough to climb the steps and brave enough to cross over as its high but its perfectly safe and so unique. Loved the ride back on the gondola which took 90 seconds
D. R.
Visited today for the first time. It was one of the free days where you can travel across the river on the moving platform and also climb the bridge and walk across the top. What a day! A great day out with kids who loved every minute of our time there. The staff were extremely friendly. We will be back for sure as the whole experience was great.
A. B.
Real solid reason for building this kind of bridge. Equally strong reasons why these are not built anymore
j. g.
A wonderful and unique bridge. Run by a friendly and interesting group of volunteers. We were unable to walk over the top of the structure due to poor weather so took a return trip on the gondola as foot passengers. I think it was well under £10 for our whole group (3 adults 2 kids aged 8 and 10) - well worth it. Had a chance to spend some time with the bridge driver in the control room where he explained lots of interesting facts about the bridge and its operation. From here we could watch the gondola take people and vehicles across and back and experience the noise and power of the electric motors and cables right up close.
T. P.
A fantastic piece of Welsh history& it's so nice to see it still working even if it's only a tourist attraction these days. It's well maintained& looks nice at night when it's all lit up. You can travel across on foot or by car or for those who are not faint hearted& are feeling fit you can climb all the stairs& walk across the top of it!!
E. S.
3 stars because it was closed due to COVID-19...
O. B.
Took our first trip over the river a couple of weeks ago here and loved it.
The attraction is the ability to ride the bridge over the river. There's not a great deal to do at the other side just a small visitor centre on the town centre side, but the pricing reflects this.
They have done a great job documenting the history and our kids loved the short trip and seemed to understand the significance of being able to travel on a significant structure like this.
There is also the option to walk over the top of the bridge for the brave...
C. J.
Excellent! An impressive structure. The gondola was out of service when we visited which was a shame. You could however walk over the top! We chickened out because it was so cold... but may go back in the summer. The staff we pleasant and chatty with loads of info about it all, which made it a good visit.
S. O.
Sadly the bridge was not open for public use until the weekend but it was well worth the visit. The engineering skills that went into the construction of the bridge were amazing and the gentleman in the visitor centre was informative and very pleasant. Hope to revisit when its up and running.
M. D. T. W.
The staff I met were lovely. Although they did not have the other side of the bridge open, they opened it for me to travel across, even though they were performing maintenance checks. It's beautifully high up, but you feel safe crossing it. Just be careful about the steps because they change as they go. Enjoy!
K. W.
I was born at the top of Brunel Street 80 years ago & used this bridge innumerable times to cross over to "coronation park" & the fields beyond. 2 of my lovely sons took me back as a birthday treat a couple of weeks ago and it was great to see the volunteers helping keep this rare example of British engineering going & explaining its history to the numerous visitors. Long may it continue!
C. O.
Sweet volunteer-run piece of significant industrial transport history. Two years' upcoming refurbishment programme should preserve for next 25 years. Worth the return journey now, however.
G. L.
This is a great attraction. History in action and really friendly people running it. Highly recommend a visit this season as it'll be closed for restoration for 2 years. Give it a go!
N. M.
Didn't know this was here.
You can take your car across or if feeling brave climb to the top and walk across.
Lovely staff and a small cafe on the main land side.
J. G.
This unusual facility had been restored faithfully and is still used by pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. The opportunity to walk across river on top level of bridge is not recommended for sufferers of vertigo so I watched progress of wife and a son from below!
M. J.
A beautiful example of it kind and one of the biggest of its design. Worth every penny of the crossing fee to keep it preserved and in working order. I will use every time it open when I pass by.
A. T.
Fantastic views from the top and at a great price.
R. T.
Great fun crossing on the gondola. A real step back in time.
A. T.
Fantastic bit of history in Newport. Fantastic views all the way to the Severn bridge on a clear day. All the staff were friendly and the gentleman giving information on the motor house while driving the bridge across the river was very interesting. You need a reasonable head for heights to climb the stairs and walk over the top, but if not enjoy the ride on the carriage.
K. Y.
Very interesting to visit, if you have a good head for heights you can climb the steps to the top and walk from one side to the other, the views from the top are stunning and the staff are very nice.
R. J.
Closed sadly due to high winds but a spectacle to look at and knowledgeable staff.
C. W.
So glad that Voluneers are running this glorious bridge once again. I've wanted to take a ride for 30 years but it wasn't running. Now it is and I got to go on it. The cost is reasonable and you can cross by foot or in the car. It's a gorgeous construction. Treat yourself!
M. A.
Little gem in Newport, we really enjoyed the cross and the view.
R. J.
Brilliant trip out for those of an industrial or engineering inclanation.
The volunteers who are keeping it running know all the ins and outs, and their enthusiasm is catching. They've got loads of information to share about the history of the bridge, and some great stories about things that have happened there!
Taking the walk across the top is a truly amazing view and well worth the pennies. If you brace at the centre of the bridge when there is a decent gust of wind going past, you can feel the bridge flex and move with it. It is just barely perceivable, and not at all obvious unless you are looking for it.
Overall a great trip out, but not the quickest way across the river as there are so many questions to ask!
L.
A blast from the past. Many years ago I used to help with delivering biscuits and sweets on my friends uncles lorry we used the bridge several times and each was a wonderful experience. I'm sure you will have fun riding this during the opening hours and take a picture and enjoy the time sharing a piece of Wales history.
R. S.
A piece of history, and a technological achievement that is well worth the visit. There is parking nearby, but you can drive up to the gates anyway and leave your car. Information panels on the wall tell an interesting tale.
A. K.
Would rate it higher, if it could be funded as it should and not left to a.small but ardent supporters to raise the necessary money needed to keep it operational. They are doing a remarkable job but it seems too much and more funds and help is desperately required. Well worth visiting and Newquay get behind your historical treasure, highlight and advertise it big time, you can pass by it and not be aware of its purpose and history.
B. K.
Brilliant experience. Took our 4x4 across and then drove back to Newport. Nice people operate the transporter. It was an all round great time. Highly reccomend a visit!!! 👌
C. M. (. J.
What a great experience but not for the faint hearted.
I. A.
One of twenty transporter bridges constructed worldwide and one of the very few that are still in operation today! Sadly, there’s not enough funding for the maintenance of the bridge. I’ve always lived just a couple of minutes away from Newport’s most iconic landmark, and truly wish to see it stand on the banks of the River Usk for years to come. I remember the days when pedestrians could cross the bridge for free and cars would pay just 50p. I used to cross it with my mum and brother as a child, honestly used to be the highlight of my day.
B. B.
Fantastic experience to walk on top of the bridge. For only 3 Pound you get a day pass which allows you to walk up the bridge and unlimited journeys on the ferry with or without your vehicle. We even had the possibility to visit Linda in the guarding box, who answered us all our questions.
J. W.
Super stunning expetience in the heart of Newport highly recommended.
A. D.
Great afternoon with the children. 278 steps went some way to knock them out for the rest of the afternoon....thankfully the return Gondola return trip allowed us time to recover the burning thighs.
V. P.
I have to say for a bridge this was quite a fun afternoon in Newport!
We stopped by to admire the view and then realised for a small amount of money we could walk over it!
Beware this is not for anyone who has vertigo! I do not have a fear of heights whatsoever, but walking over the top of this transporter bridge is not only a thrill and a great experience but also one of the scariest things I have ever done!!
Be sure to ask where the toilet is up top, I think you will have a chuckle when they tell you!
Also a great pub nearby The Waterloo. Amazing decor. Food is fairly good for the price and the service is wonderful. Really friendly staff, we had such a nice time.
A. G.
A very impressive structure and a great reminder that the transport needs of bygone eras were... erm, somewhat different.
Go in summer so that you can cross in the gondola and then, if you're adventurous, climb the bridge and cross back by the walkway, while watching the gondola operate below. This way you can also see the engine room and the winches.
Great experience as there are very few such transporter bridges operating - only seven in the whole world, if memory serves.
r. b.
Amazing piece of engineering.Did return journey in car for the experience. Not expensive,£2 per person return, car free.Volunteer staff in Visitors Centre friendly and knowledgeable.Enjoyed and would recommend.
A. B.
Fab guide in the shop, very knowledgeable. Arrived too late 16.20 to either go across or up and would have done so the day after had Newport not gone onto lockdown.
R. D.
Absolutely stunning piece of engineering.
Turned up on my motorbike they looked after my helmet, tank bag, and jacket with no hesitation.
The volunteers were so knowledgeable and real enthusiasts, able to answer every question.
Walked over the top fantastic views, visited the “Engine House” Paul was a delight very chatty.
Then the “Gondola” ride back.
Will defiantly be doing that again.
Thank you so much
A. J.
What a brilliant piece of engineering. Well worth a visit when it is open (from Spring) and it's the closest to flying you can get without having to go through security. The only other bridge like this in the UK is in Middlesbrough. I think it's run and maintained by volunteers now. If you have the head for heights you have to walk the top of the bridge for a fraction of the price of the Sydney Harbour bridge!
d. s.
One of only 8 transporter bridges worldwide, with only 5 in working order, (ours included!)
It's a wonderful structure that can be used for carrying small vehicles across the River Usk on a suspended car.
People have the choice of riding on the car or, several times per year, walking across the top, which is an experience not to be missed! Brilliant!
j. m.
Fascinating old bridge. The walk over the top is great but you need a head for heights! Get there soon as it's due to close soon for refurbishment
J. F.
Great experience that I could never tire from. Lovely man giving the tickets. £1 each adult. 50p for a child. Dogs free. Great to see it working so well.
J. C.
Would never have thought of doing this on a holiday if my mum hadn't suggested it but the kids thought it was absolutely great. My wife and the youngest went in the car on the suspended road section and met us on the other side. Brill.
P. A.
One hell of a view, wonderful piece of engineering and history. Closed for upgrade for the next few years, but keep an eye out for when it reopens
J. E.
Absolutely brilliant experience! The views and the bridge itself are amazing, the staff are just as good too! Great value for money and really interesting! Give it a go, it's high :)
P. M.
Unfortunately the gondola was not running today, due to a mechanical problem. But the staff, explained why, and were very knowledgeable with the history, and the forthcoming work to take place over the next 2 years. Will certainly visit again, and walk over the top gantry of the bridge. And then we can all have a t-shirt that says. I HAVE WALKED OVER THE TRANSPORT BRIDGE. That are on sale in the visitor center there.
S. G.
The biggest and best preserved transporter bridge in the world, this industrial wonder is in full working order. As well as going across in the gondola, if you are fit enough you really should consider walking up the tower across the top. All in all. a great place to visit.
C. H.
Well worth a visit. Cheap to climb over or go in the gondola. This historic site needs support to keep it going. Only 1 of 2 in the UK, only 6 or 7 in the world!!
L. B.
Just about managed all the steps. Great views.
D. P.
Visited 2 iconic bridges in a week this and Golden Gate Bridge.... GGB benefits from its location which is incredible but for me the transporter bridge is truely special... After all there are only a few of these in the world and suspension bridges are everywhere.... Also it was foggy when we saw the GGB😕
c. P.
A fabulous visit, a beautiful and slightly preposterous structure. The staff were friendly Paul (?) the driver was a great host and is obviously proud of his machine.Well worth the effort.
The doubters moaning about paying £1.00 to use the bridge obviously have no imagination.
I never thought I would visit Newport for fun.
I will be back.
W. V.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays in summer.
(Visitor center open.)
L. S.
Lovely view from the top!! 😀
J. S.
Very helpful staff happy to explain history and workings. Small visitor centre good. Well worth a trip, the gondola ride excellent.
J. P.
Loved it. Scary to go across the top, especially if you are scared of heights, but so worth it. Felt like I finally became a man. Great sights too!!
R. r.
This is a must for industrial Herriatage lovers , a walk over the very top of the bridge is only £3 and well worth it as you get a return journey on the gondola below. And spectacular views from the top of the bridge right the way to the seven crossing and able to see both Wales and England from the top as well as seeing the heart of Cardiff the principality stadium and down to the docks and penarth and portalbot along with flatholme and Stockholm islands to boot. The small museum at the bridges base is run by very knowledgeable volunteers who are happy to impart there knowledgeable of the bridge and it's history.
K.
Great bridge to take a ride across the river, the kids love watching the bridge work and as only a few are still working in the world it's worth a visit. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, they are more than happy to have a chat.
a. b.
Amazing place. Make sure you have a head for heights if crossing the bridge. We did it in mild sleet...
Engine house is worth lookin in and the operators are well informed.
J. B.
Lovely to look at but hurts your neck looking up. Kinda like being in new york just not as pretty
E. A. D.
Well worth the visit. Extremely helpful and pleasant volunteers. Real value for money at just £4.
M. H.
Iconic structure open Wed to Sun, Easter to end of Sept 10am til 4pm.
A must see if you live near or within an hour of Newport or even further away you will be amazed.
N. O.
What a surprisingly fantastic experience at a very small cost. The staff were so chatty and informative and helpful and of course the walk itself over the top was a huge thrill.
C. A.
Amazing value £1.50 to go over this and the history is mesmerising. This is run by volunteers well worth a visit. Need a head for heights though
t. j. w.
Just one word, AMAZING!!!
P. P.
For £3 you get to ride on this piece of history as many times as you want, have a chat and a laugh with the amazingly friendly staff, and even walk across the walkway if you have a head for heights.
If you're in the area don't miss this.
S. E.
Went to watch abseil from the bridge for charity. Impressive structure by is closed to tourists until March next year. But groups can visit between now and then by prior arrangement.
S. T.
Great time. My 6yo son was very happy while walking on path. Suitable for kids under supervision. Deffo will come back.
D. H.
The Newport Transporter Bridge is well worth a visit. It's a beautiful bridge the iconic structure is amazing. Challenge yourself to do the walk over the bridge. Newport views are so amazing from the top
B. R.
Awesome, experience, if you walk the top gangway. It's a 'must do'. Put it on your Bucket List!
A. L.
Manned by friendly volunteers give their time to keep this marvellous engineering memento available to visitors. Stunning views from the top add to a wonderful experience.
M. B.
Despite being Newport's main, or sole, visitor attraction, it's run in the manner of a yard sale. If you happen to arrive at the "wrong" side (east) you'll find a scrappy hand-written sign, which has obviously been written in frustration at the "general" public, yet is completely ambiguous. The 'phone number provided doesn't work. Neither does the bridge's mechanism.
M. J.
Historic engineering - great value - terrific views from the top
b. r.
It was a great day out , the people running the transporter are amazing and they love what they do , would love to take my car on next time , may even brave walking across sometime.
A. B.
Would give it 10 stars if I could. Incredible views, friendly staff, scary as anything up the top. Definitely do it.
G. M.
Didn't know it existed, found if by looking on Google maps for things to do in Newport. What an amazing attraction.
R. C.
Well worth the visit as went over on two separate occasions and the views are fantastic
W. W.
Absolutely fantastic, loved the whole experience. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
If, like me you enjoy the quirky, this is a real gem!
P. C.
A superb pieces of Brunel genius.
G. B.
Very interesting.iconic structure and well worth a visit. Apparently the bridge is shut for 6 months during the winter but the visitors centre should be open.
D. K.
Good transporter bridge, not quite as majestic as Middlesbrough’s transporter bridge.
M. M.
One of eight in the world and only one of the five that work. Visit it to see an industrial piece of heritage before some beaurocrat deems it to be an eyesore and wants to pull it down! The view from the top is exillerating as are the 270 steps up and down from the gantry. Taking your car across for a done that moment.
C. P.
Wow, what a view.
Victorian engineering at its best.
Hayley Mills visited the day before. She was last there in 1958 when they were filming 'Tiger Bay'
J. R.
Loved it!!! A great ride over the river usk.! My husband walked across the top!!!!
D. B.
Great value for money to go on the gondola, and walk over the top. Very interesting historic landmark.
D. D.
I got one wouldn’t walk across is, but I bet it would be a good view.
A. H.
Amazing experience! If the sun's out and the tide's in, the views from up top will be outstanding.
d. e.
Well worth a visit. Great views from the top,if you like a good climb, not for the faint hearted. 😁
S. T. P.
Good place to visit.
J. C.
An interesting historic site. Worth a visit for those interested in the industrial revolution and associated period in South Wales.
C. P.
Great fun.
M. V.
Very friendly staff and walking over the bridge was an amazing experience. I already can't wait to do it again.
M. H.

(Translated) impressive sight and sensations!
Bought the ticket £ 3 to climb via the stairs and crossed over the top of the structure. Whaouuuu! You are afraid, that's normal. Then, go back to the other side to take the platform. Yes, I'm going back here ... I'm doing it again. :)
