We visited on the last open day of the year (usually open may-sept) . Entrance is free if historic house or RHS member. The house is still lived in by the family and hence no photos allowed inside . Visit is by tour which was extremely informative. The lady new all the facts and figures
A large amount of the portraits inside are horse related including some by stubbs, Fernley. There are also other pieces of art by munnings, zoffany, Ramsey and Wright of Derby. A large collection of sculptures and pottery can also be found.
The gardens although small are beautiful, with hidden corners and areas abound. There is a basic cafe with the usual cakes, tea and coffee.
This place is a hidden gem and is a must see in the area.

Lovely afternoon out. Didn't have time to do the hall. Still lots of colour. Plenty to see but not to spread out. Nice walk down to the wild garden by the stream. Enjoyed the Carrot cake from the tea room. I sat out in the courtyard. It was a beautiful September afternoon. Limited opening hours. Only opened Thursday 2 to 5 in September. Plenty of benches to rest and enjoy the view. Lots of parking space. Easy walk to gardens from car park. Most importantly ladies, toilets at the courtyard alongside the tearoom. It's a RHS partner garden so was able to enter using my HRS card.

Fantastic place, beautiful gardens and the paintings predominately horses are superb.
We were escorted around the Hall by two clued up members of staff. There is a quaint cafe area with a good selection of cakes and copious amounts of tea.
Cottesmore Hall is a real gem in the Northamptonshire countryside.

Fabulous day out but although it looked like rain was on the way, by the afternoon the sun was out, so we all really enjoyed ourselves. Only the gardens were open due to Covid; however, everything was beautifully laid out and the perfume from each area was fantastic - particularly the wisteria hanging over one of the bridges. Highly recommended.

Such a pleasurable place to visit. The house is lovely and full of history but the gardens are superb. Award winning and you can see why. The staff were Fantastic, facilities clean and lovely walks to be had. Little cafe sells hot drinks and cakes but plenty of open space for a picnic. Well worth a visit.

Visited this Thursday and was blown away by how stunning the gardens are. Beautifully planned, landscaped gardens with an abundance of flowers, colour and statues. The whole garden had a botanical Italian feel. Then just as you thi k you've seen it all, theres the wild gardens, that must not be missed! With forest and lots of scented roses, honeysuckle, acers and many interesting and exotic trees. A stream and stone bridges, adorned with wisteria, a japanese pavilion, a sweet little thatched summer cottage, ever so much beauty. We'll definately be returning when the house is open. I've seen some examples of the art and interior on Cottenbrook Estates Instagram and already know I'm going to be impressed.

What a lovely place to visit. It's so much better to get a guided tour by someone who knows their subject and interacts with the visitors. Beautiful gardens

This place sure isn't open very often. Hard to schedule it in with all the other quirky great home schedules of HHA. But we loved it. The gardens are amazing & varied. There is a huge, picturesque Cedar of Lebanon tree that is perfect for hanging out under in good weather. A cafe. The guided house tour is one of the best I've seen. Very interesting history, rooms and stuff.

This is a privately owned house and gardens. The gardens are wonderful, from secret gardens to stylized formal areas with statues and fountains. The Secret garden (not even on the map) ask about it, is magical, with Monet style bridge and lakes. So worth a visit.

The house is very nice. For me the gardens were the best thing here. They are beautiful and well kept. Some of the best gardens I have been to in the UK!

Have had many great afternoons spent in the gardens taking photos and can recommend this as a garden to see, it like most changes through the seasons but always has something of interest, I especially like the new introductions of the early spring area down near the riverside gazebo, when this is in flower it's stunning.
Although the tea and cakes are great and a must try, it would be nice to have a few sandwiches on offer, so maybe something to try for the future ?
Saying this it does not detract from the great work that the whole team do as once out in the gardens you can get lost for ages with the many plant, flowers and features, well done to all, Thank You.

A delightful house and gardens set in the heart of some of the best Northamptonshire countryside.
Opening times may not be convenient for some visitors, due to frequency, but a visit to Cottesbrooke is well worth the effort - unforgettable and highly recommend.
