Tucked away and not marketed at all is this tiny but poignant war memorial. We almost drove past it, but a passenger with a keen eye spotted it, asked what it was and we turned back to take a look. I feel we should all make sure that future generations are aware of our history and learn from the mistakes we have made in the past, so as not to recreate them. War is not fun, and memorials like this help to remind us of this. Lest we forget.

This was an eye opener. I was not aware of the effort during WWII that was provided to support the efforts of other countries to free them from the the dictatorship of Hitler. I am concerned that due to the elderly personnel manning the museum and no evident plans for replacement curators that the museum will cease to exist.

Wasn't aware of these extremely brave young chaps until I stopped nearby to check my e-mail, whilst at work. Since my encounter with this memorial I've done my best to share there story.
