What a treasure of a place fantastic staff...had a lovely day went on the stream train excellent little gift shop and Buffet car...will be back
T. S.
Steam what more can you say, not the longest of rides but they do their best with limited resources. Not too expensive. They do run diesels as well, but managed to miss them as went on a Bank Holliday
N.
Lovely little place, true enthusiast run railway, everyone lovely, has a nice little cafe style cabin with outdoor seating and a BR buffet car carriage for indoor seating.
Nice clean toilets.
They cater for all ability's with regards to mobility.
Well worth a visit will take as little as a hour to do everything including a 30min train ride.
Look for yellow sign with N L R.
Only gripe signs to it entrance lost in all the other signage at the entrance. It is the pub entrance, turn in and keep driving past the side of the pub following overflowing car park and you get to there official parking.
Come and support these gems.

Wife booked a steam ride for fathers day with our two kids one of which is thomas the tank mad we all thoroughly enjoyed it despite it being a short journey none the less it was fantastic
H. W.
What a lovely little place, ran by lovely people. I've signed up to be a member, and will volunteer in the future!
P. G.
Great little railway to take children too. Our toddler really really enjoyed the easter special weekend. Well worth a visit.
L. M.
Been asked why I have not rated the railway 5 stars, you'll get your 5 stars when the extension is finished 🤣
Well worth the price of admission.
T. D.
Fabulous day out. All supporters really happy to help and chat about steam and the way trains worked. Also happy to show what happens in the drivers bit

Seems a bit overpriced for the train just going backwards and forwards a very short trip kids love it
P. C.
Absolutely brilliant we took our grandchildren to go on the steam train and to see father Christmas are granddaughter has autism they couldn't have done more to make it a lovely experience for her highly recommended
E. H.
We visited during Halloween, fun collection of pumpkins. Got to ride an old train, kids and us really enjoyed it
T. C.
Run by volunteers, it is a fun day out for those who don't get to go on a train often. The stream train is worth seeing in action. There is a nice little cafe and shop.
D. L. M.
Great line lots going on with freight trains and passenger trains. Very nostalgic feel reccomend
S. H.
Stumbles upon this on our walk. Very cool, old station stuck back in time. Has a working signal room you can go up and see, a train you can ride with lots of smart looking staff who were all friendly.
G.
Short standard gauge line, one station but good fun. They were running a Class 31 and three carriages when I last visited. Hope they continue to extend the line as planned.
k. D.
We walked along the railway track so didn't visit the museum but this is closed at the moment due to lockdown rules. We did come across a cafe in the Equestrian Centre where coffee and snacks were being served outside at present which I'm sure will be lovely when it opens. It's a flat walk so offers ease for all ages, dogs need to be kept on a lead, and there were quite a few cyclists. A lovely walk in the countryside and a pathway all the way.
J. L.
A short preserved railway with cheap train rides and a great station buffet to fill the gap while you're there.
D. M.
Very friendly staff who are happy to help. If you don't fancy actually going on the train they are happy to allow you to sit on the station and watch everything that's going on.
They are quite happy to let you take photos of virtually any thing you want.
The shop on the platform is reasonably priced, selling lollies cheaper than regular shops.
D.
Visited for Halloween, lots of activities and all staff dressed up for the occasion.
Excellent value, and son (first time on a train) absolutely loved it.
A. W.

A wonderful place to spend the day. The volunteers are always great with our son, stopping to talk to him and show him around. The fact that you can use tickets to ride all day means it's really good value too :-)
T.
Santa special. Lovely train ride, friendly staff. Tasty food and drink 🎄🎅
J. B.
Good value. The grandchildren enjoyed seeing Santa and the train ride. Excellent gifts. Easy parking. I did miss the hunt experience which they did a few years ago. I would definitely recommend.......no queues.
T. S.
Fantastic place to get away from life for a while. Amazing countryside views a bit further along. Well recommend for dog walking cycling and wildlife spotting
C. E.
Great to look around and alot of volunteers restoration going on
H. L.

T. B.
Great place to spend an afternoon and a lot of fun getting to see the railway and steam train. Gift shop had a load of great things in there and all the staff, locals and volunteers were very friendly! Great pub near by too with plenty of parking!
L. W.
Lovely place watching the steam train while enjoying lunch at the station cafe with old time music playing.
M. A.
Great fun. No steam train out when i was there but there's a reason to got back soon
S. T.
Still as good as when we went with the boys when they were younger. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good to see our local steam preservation team have kept the place going. 10/10 to everyone concerned!
M. (.
Last four times we've been it's not been a steam train just a rattly old diesel. Site is looking a bit scruffy. Not much effort for Peppa weekend. Just one character in a marque. Could have done a bit more to theme it better.
A. G.
We went to the Santa event. Staff very friendly and great with children. Track was shorter than we expected. Great gift and lovely father Christmas.
Y. N.
Not steam but rather diesel train. Small distance, which is great for younger children, however the carriages could do with a deep clean. Other than that, it is just okay. I was expecting a bit more for the price we paid.
S. h.
Nice place for a walk or cycle (the original railway is now a cycleway/ footpath). They also have a couple of miles of railway on which they operate their steam train which is quite cheap to take a ride in...great for the kids!
G. W.
A classic example of an underfunded heritage site which exists by virtue of a group of enthusiastic members. Well done to you all. It was a pity the Emporium was closed on our visit as it could have added the missing element. The day was definitely made by a visit to the adjacent pup, The Brampton Halt, which I would highly recommend.
M. F.
Very hospitable - they weren't officially open but let me eat my sandwiches on the platform and use the loo. The extension of the line down to boughton crossing looks like it is almost complete.
S. F.
Very nice place to visit even if you don't have children
B. R.
Enjoyable. Friendly staff and good to hear the clackity clack of wheels on rails. Good luck to them keeping the old railways alive. Will be great if it goes a lot further.
E. J.
Not open when i dropped by but the track and stock are to be seen from a footpath opposite. Enough to entice me back on both a warmer day when they are open. Possible to walk the length of their current line and signs of plans to extend this. Hope they succeed.
S. J.
Small heritage railway with one station called Pitsford & Brampton, the station has the usual facilities and staffed by volunteers, not expensive to travel and the train passes through farmland with pleasant views. There is a footpath running adjacent to the line so after taking a ride go for a walk and take some pictures.
J. S.
Great day out for all
L.
Charming little station. Great to see restoration on this historic site.
W. K.
Great little gem of a place. Check website for when it's staffed (as lovingly run by volunteers). Fun and fascinating mix of historical relics.
I. C.
Nice trip with an old Diesel train. Kids really enjoyed it. We had donated some money for the rail renovation too.
S. T.
Went for information for my son's school project. Was actually closed but we were still able to walk up and down the platform and there was enough to photo. Did speak to someone who gave us much info regarding the signal box and it's heritage.
J. W.
Had a great time staff really friendly. The refreshments were excellent especially the kids teddy bears picnic great value
G. C.
It's a great visit for train enthusiasts, plenty of rolling stock on view. Shame trains are not running but that's a global pandemic for you.

C. S.
Lovely place to visit, picturesque gem of a place, love the steam trains, cafe and shop. Loved going there and will go again
S. F.
Such a lovely place to visit with lots of parking.
The railway is run by volunteers to help preserve and extend the line that used to run between Northampton and Market Harborough, so if you're looking to get involved, and learn new skills at the same time, there are lots of opportunities to help this heritage line.
It's surrounded by the most stunning countryside, with fields growing broad beans, and can be used by both people walking and cyclists. Extending for 14 miles it's a really lovely day out for families, couples, casual cyclists and those wanting to take a short trip on the train itself.
The cycle way forms part of the National Cycle Route 6 so there's plenty to enjoy and see.
Look out for their special events throughout the year, all the profits get reinvested back into preserving this scenic route through the countryside.
