I took my daughter along to the Star Wars Toys exhibition a the Northamton Museum. It is free entry but you are given the option to donate to help fund it. It was an excellent display of original Star Wars Toys, ideal for the fans young and old alike.
The rest of the museum is also worth a visit with a great section on the history of Northampton and also shoes (which Northampton is well known for).
Go visit and enjoy a great few hours of nostalgia and edification.

Really much improved with clean, open viewing areas, good toilet facilities and an indoor/outdoor cafe area. Northampton story over two large rooms, a double gallery of animal photos and a gallery of art work. It is clearly educational as teaching studios available. I loved the Vikings exhibition with reference to Northampton. It's free but please donate in the glass box or buying from the shop.

Fantastic museum! We spent about 2-2.5 hours here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The history of Northampton exhibit was so interesting and it was excellent to see how the area has evolved. The art gallery had some wonderful displays and it was laid out so well. The shoe collection was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the evolution of footwear and styles etc.
We visited while the Star wars "May the Toys be with you" exhibition was on and had a lot of fun looking at all the toys and film posters.

The Northampton museum is very interesting. I could visit two sections. Shoe section is amazing. It gives history of development of shoes through the ages. It has hundreds of pair of shoes of different types and time periods. The other section is star war section, which depicts the making of star war movie. Many of the items used by film characters are placed there in original. Everyone who has seen the movie will enjoy it. There is shop from where one can buy items for own collection. The reference is free.

Super helpful staff and a great atmosphere. The exhibits are very well looked after and it's really clean. Went with children of different ages and all had a great time. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Absolutely fantastic time at the Star Wars Toy exhibition with our little boy. It's a great introduction to the wider museum with free entry. It was uncrowded, well lit and brilliantly put together. We'll certainly be back to the museum, what an asset to Northampton it is.

I really enjoyed my visit. The museum recently under went refurbishment, and looks really good. Bright, airy and clean. Plenty of room for exhibits. Good place to visit.

Newly refurbished and just reopened. I received a great welcome from the staff as I entered and was directed to some of the highlights. The first being the national shoe collection which was incredibly impressive and one learns a lot about the process of shoe making and it's history in Northampton.
The Northampton exhibition is well balanced and the pride of place is very heartening.
The Christopher Fiddes exhibition, celebrating a local artist, was captivating despite the dark subject matter.
Well worth a visit!

Such a great museum. Can't believe I have lived here so long and that was my first visit. Really enjoyed it!
