Yeah, enjoyed it. It's a pretty nice museum. Nice smell of oil and steel. Plenty of humongous beam engines which is pretty amazing size. My 6yo thought it was pretty cool too. I personally enjoyed the gigantic spanners. The mini railway around the grounds was nice, bit of a stinky diesel engine though 😅

Great day out at the Strumpshaw Steam Rally, access to the museum included. Lots of Full Size, 4" and 6" scale versions, motorbikes, cars and heavy horses. A small number of rides. It was cash only which could have been an issue..
A. K.
Lovely collection of steam driven machinery including organs, traction and stationary engines.
Great way to spend a couple of hours
M. J.
I would have given this event 5 out of 5, but from a photographers point of view the caravans, tents, cars, including the kitchen sink just made these wonderful engines look out of place what with all the back ground clutter above. Please please take the time to display these wonderful engines properly next time, and give the engines the respect they deserve.

4 Day Steam up at Strumpshaw.
Brilliantly Organised.

Was at a classic car show on the 26th, Was a fantastic day, museum is small but packed with great displays, The train on site is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.
R. W.
Small collection, friendly staff. Value for money - a half day more than a whole day. Great place for a picnic
S.
Absolutely lovely. So much to see and do in beautiful surroundings. Lovely people too. A must do but only open on Sunday.

What a wonderful place. With working machinery.
A real country look back in time with knowledgeable staff.
The steam rally is honestly worth a visit.

The Steam museum was closed. However they have an all year round campsite. We stayed at the site for 3 nights. A lovely tranquil place to stay. Call Tom to make a reservation. Lots of local walks and easy cycling. Train station in Brundall 2 miles away where you can go to Norwich as well as Great Yarmouth. Brundall has some local shops and a pub.

Interesting and some unusual exhibits

Try to go every year, it's a family friendly event, everyone is really nice and some great makers of all ki ds, although as its a tree fair, there is a lot of wooden items on sale.
G. H.
A great little museum, had a good time here, some fantastic steam engines, I use a wheelchair and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even getting me on the train ride. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable about the collection. Thanks for a delightful time.

Such a lovely place to go, the carousel is gorgeous and fun (super fast), lovely owners and staff and lots of history and information. A really nice few hours out.
We attended the steam rally today also and my children (1 And 3) loved it and all the vintage tractors
Gorgeous location too

Fabulous Steam Rally, only time I've missed it was during lock down,so much to see, plenty of food outlets, bric-a-brac stools, a really great day out for the family 👪.

A lovely day out! I took my little girl here and she loved it, lots to see, she got to ride the arc and train (all included in the ticket price) and the volunteers to run it were all so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend, even more so when there is an event on!
T. C.
Lovely little museum with an eclectic mix of exhibits, and host to some wonderful shows and festivals.
S. A.

This was a great place, fabulous collection. Loved the Organs, and hearing them all play was a real treat. All the Engines kept in pristine condition. Well worth it.
P. E.
Love this quite beautiful place. Easy access to Norwich and the Broads.
Short drive, walk, cycle ride to amazing wetland habitats if you you like nature at its best. Highly recommended.

Went to the steam rally at the museum. Really really good day out. The museum itself is rather small but on event days ( they have many ) it's really good.

An enjoyable time at the museum
C. B.
went here earlier today. what a lovely old collection of steam engines, classic cars, stalls of all kinds and plenty of places to buy something to eat or drink. part with the fellow trying to herd four sheep into a trailer with four sheep dogs was highly entertaining as he was completely hopeless. brilliant day out.
P. “. B.
Lovely little museum with steam engines (some working, including trains!) Great bit of history. Note to self: return with the grandchildren; they would love it! Only a very limited cafe serving drinks & cakes. Some bricabrac of bygone times.
S. D.
A few access issues for wheelchairs (there's a ramp at the train station but there's a step before the ramp that a powered wheelchair won't go up, and the carriage doors are too narrow for all but the slimmest of manual chairs). Could do with more volunteers to spruce up some of the displays but otherwise a good afternoon out.
J. B.
If you're a fan of old machinery aka steam engines and that, then this is heaven. Plus they have A WORKING BEAM ENGINE which is seriously the most impressive machine I've ever seen
It's not a big museum, you can look round it in 45 minutes, but there's a cafe, rides for kids and a beautiful park outside.
R. B.
What a great day out. It gets bigger and better each year. Fantastic to see all the Steem engine's of all shapes and sizes, antique Tractors, Car's, Motorcycles and Bicycles.
A traditional Fun Fair. And Stalls selling everything you could imagine, plenty of food choices, you could even have your Palm read too !
All for £10 with a FREE guide of everything happening throughout the day, and FREE parking.
L. R.
Great museum with plenty to see. Recommend going for the steam show is on.
P. L.
Great way to spend a couple of hours

We had an amazing time today! Can not wait for next year for the next steam rally. Loved the atmosphere the grounds, fair ground and the history about the trains a d trams. A great day out!!!
J. H.
Excellent organisation. Everything steam - powered was given a place on the field. Also a shepherd with his sheep and dogs, and huge Shire horses, wonderfully groomed, and motorbikes, too. Food, drink and stalls offering a wide range of products. A great day out for the whole family!
E. D.
A very interesting experience. I visited this museum whilst camping at VW Fab Show. A very lovely little museum. Although it is not huge, it's still nice to walk around. They have an organ in there which was amazing to see as you don't often see them. And there was actually a half an hour demonstration of some music pieces. Whilst the Vw show was on the museum had little craft stalls inside which made a nice touch to looking round. They also have a small cafe which is very reasonably priced. The steam machines inside are usually working throughout the day so you can see how they run. You can even have a chat with the mechanics there who look after them.
D. G.
Can't understand why this great little museum isn't really busy. Run by volunteers who are endlessly helpful and a fount of knowledge. Probably gets busy when events are held but on a normal Sunday it is really quiet.
n. w.
Although the steam museum wasn't open we stayed at the caravan park for 2 nights, its lovely and peaceful with lots of public footpaths to walk from the park.
D. B.
Nice place for a cheap visit with the kids, very nice little museum, great little cafe and including in the price is a little ride on the train around the grounds, see if the children can spot the peacocks while on the ride, all the staff are volunteers I would recommend a visit uite near Yarmouth
M. G.
Great day out on a show day. Traction engines classic cars, tractors, tool stalls, vintage fair rides and the indoor museum. Great for all ages.
N. B.
Located East of Norwich in the countryside this place offers great walks around fields with horses and a peacock. Diesel train running on selected open days. Heritage museum including a fairground ride.
D. M.
Brilliant place, went for the tree fair, which was a fabulous couple of days, the price included the museum which we really enjoyed, such nice people!!! The train ride was fun too!!
F.
Visited the steam rally held in the grounds of Strumpshaw Hall. Rally was ok, been to a better ones but also worse. Museum was open because of the rally (museum normally only opens on a Sunday); that was ok too but desperately in need of some TLC
R. A.
A great afternoon out, the people running the place were really helpful, friendly and kind to the children. Looks like there are some nice walks thereabouts too.
D. T.

A lovely friendly feel, and while not huge, an interesting place to spend a couple of hours. Lovely tea and cakes in the cafe.

Very historic place which hosted a VW Festival last weekend. Lots of historic steam and other vehicles to look around plus a 1934 Waltzer ride which they have restored. There is also a small train which goes around the site, which only costs a pound. There is also a steam rally there every year, i have never been but it looks good.
J. W.
Amazing. So lucky to have this good ole Notfolk attraction. Important to not forget the past for many reasons in life. One is so our dads, uncles, grandparents etc can all reminisce or actually help to maintain such items. A truly wonderful collection, attraction of a well maintained array of toys, farming equipment, entertainment items, fairground items and steam engines of various types. Take your time viewing, have a nice cuppa and peruse the gift shop. There’s usually an event going on within the extensive grounds too - steam engines to VW family festival etc. well worth a look when in the area, literally fun for all the family.
