Reviews of Port Meadow
P. T.
I love port meadow and wolvercote so much, it’s my go to place for relaxation. It’s a beautiful place with grazing animals, ducks and swans. The canals and lochs along the way with passing boats look so scenic! Best place to run, cycle or just have a picnic.

Really lovely walk, places to paddle in the river all along the bank. The bridges are no easy feat, they feel a little rickety, unsafe and pathways are narrow at times. Lots of little fish to watch, friendly geese. We didn't encounter the cows, we were on the wrong side

Beautiful place to walk, have a picnic even swim. Beautiful in every season with horses, cows, swans, ducks and lots of birds. You can walk all the way to centre of Oxford

An amazing large open green space within the city boundaries and bordered by the river. Lots of bird life as well as curious cattle and friendly horses. There are lots of paths and routes to explore, with parking and toilets meaning it is accessible and family friendly.

Don’t miss the scenery of nature.
If its sunny you are lucky.
Not many car parks near so always try to secure the parking just before the entrance
Will be a nice picnic-spot.

We had the best time, used to go there as a kid (1980's) and tbh haven't been back since but omg it's great fun, shallow water, rope swings, fish and ducks plus free parking ..... a great little escape to let the kids go crazy !!

Beautiful meadow with so much wild life. It’s a shame the water can be contaminated but it’s nice to see so many people go in the water regardless for a swim. I hope Themes valley water can find some where else to dump waste and let the people enjoy Natures playground

Lovely open space, with uninterrupted views of the Oxford skyline. There are various walks across the meadow, reaching Jerico and Oxford City Centre. If you cross the Rainbow Bridge you can drop into the Perch at Binsey before walking back on the other bank of the river arriving at Godstow Nunnery. There is lots of livestock on the meadow.....horses and cattle roam freely . Port Meadow has a large car park, off which is the bathing area. Within this area children can paddle etc. There are picnic tables with built in disposal bbq holders on each table.

Beautiful place, ideal for walks along the river and plenty of open space for children or dogs to run & play. There's a free carpark & toilet facilities. A picnic area with tables & benches. A great way to exercise and unwind

One of the best places to go for a walk. Take your dog but be carefull as there are free roaming cows horses and geese. Also a very nice river for you and your doggos to swim in.
