Reviews of Flag Fen Archaeology Park
S. T.
Flag Fen is an important and interesting Bronze Age site. The archaeological park is nicely laid out and includes a replica of a Bronze Age roundhouse. That having been said there isn't an awful lot here and (so far) not much from the nearby Must Farm excavation. Certainly worth a diversion from the A1(M) but perhaps not a long journey in itself.
C. H.
Incredible history of this impressive site, some nice displays and lots of little places to explore, nice and quiet with a decent little shop/cafe. A very nice way to spend a few hours for not a lot of money.
S. W.
Lovely day out. Took children (7&9) as they learn about prehistoric settlements at school and this gives a great practical experience to help understand what they'll be learning about.
They loved exploring the big dig areas and going in the round house.
Very quiet even mid summer holidays. Enjoyed tea and cake in the cafe after too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you
S. P.
It's a nice place. Takes you back in history and time. Lovely for an afternoon or morning. Nice place to have a picnic. I wouldn't spend all day there. Parking is free. Very little shop there.
C. C.
This was our first visit after many years and whilst it was great to be back on a site that is so full of history, it was sad to see that only one of the three roundhouses has survived to date. The preservation hall is a definite must see as we found it quite amazing to be amongst evidence from over 3000 years ago! Parts of the site are in desperate need of tidying up which I'm assuming has been neglected due to lack of funding. It would be a shame to see a something that is so important to our history fall into ruin due to neglect and lack of funding.
Its a great place for families and parking is free too which is a bonus. We'll definitely be back with a picnic soon, and hopefully Flag Fen will soon get the care and financial support it so desperately needs.
M. S.
Great afternoon out with the family, always good to watch the animals run round free too. Few babies too.
Was a little disappointed that the Big Dig Den was closed for access though
Well recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Thoroughly enjoyed my trip here. Went round on the accompanied tour. Our guide Ian was very informative. The museum had many interesting artefacts. There was also a man applying wattle and daub to one of the roundhouse, which was very interesting. Car parking good.
S. B.
Very interesting place. Just a shame they only had 1 member of staff on the desk, trying to do 2 jobs with the cafe aswell. Not much choice of food & drinks ether.
K. D.
Really wonderful and interesting experience, the staff were very friendly especially the lady who served us in the cafe/gift shop. My partner and I went but on our way around the site we saw lots of children having fun doing activities. We looked around a reconstruction roundhouse which had a real fire burning in there so I would suggest wearing older clothes because we had such a smokey smell clinging to us after that, it was brilliant though!! Would definitely recommend this visit, we spent about 90 minutes there in total. Something for everyone, lots of beautiful wildlife to admire too. Well worth the £6 entrance fee. We went on a Monday during half term, it's usually closed on Mondays (and Tuesdays too I think, please check before going) but opens all week especially for school holidays and Bank Holidays. Really lovely afternoon trip 😊

Great place but not a lot to do...I did help someone with a flat tyre...I hope they paid it forward.
M. R.
We to see the viking event today It was very good.
L. B.
This is a gem tucked away in the fens, which I found by accident. The tour we were given was superb, full of history and information and really helped us understand the history, literally beneath our feet. The two hours we allocated really weren't quite enough. We would be happy to revisit
B. D.
Really interesting place, even as an Archaeologist I don't know a whole lot about the Bronze age so always good to see the real deal. Particularly like the preservation room where the timbers are left in situ preserved by the running water that continually sprays them from all angles. Really different and fascinating! Also love the chilled out vibe with open grass, the mere and the sheep free roaming. Totally recommend!
D. S.
Seeing the over 3000 year old Causeway parts was amazing, the hut was fun (and smelled wonderful) being able to touch different sheep wool before and after spinning a new adventure and generally we had a good time here. The cafe was reasonably priced so we had some lunch, the gift shop is small, but has some nice items and books (though the post cards are rather specialised. The kids enjoyed the Dig Site and we found some fossilised rocks.
J. B.
Brilliant day out at the viking event. Lits to see on site. Would recommend a visit anytime
P. M.
You'll have to bring your wonder with you. An amazing archaeological site, with much to wonder about. We had a guided tour, which definitely helped explain somethings, but was rather confused for the first time visitor. The site itself is some damp timbers in a murky pool in a tin shed. There are some nice round houses being built. The location is bleak, but that's not a criticism. The cafe is ok.
J. C.
It's been a few years since I visited Flag Fen, but I was shocked by the state of the place. It's neglected and overgrown, and now down to only one roundhouse (there were 3 at one time). The water sprinkler system in the preservation hall is still not working properly from the last time I visited, and most of the preserved timber is covered in water rather than just being sprayed lightly. I gave it 3 stars out of loyalty (I was a volunteer at Flag Fen years ago) but it deserves fewer. However, the current state of the place is probably a result of woeful underfunding, local disinterest, and the effects of the covid19 pandemic. My score in no way reflects the hard work of the staff and volunteers, but rather it reflects my anger at this national treasure being so badly used. This is a site of national and international importance, and it deserves better!
D. W.
We went there for the first time this afternoon- it was amazing! A change from visiting National Trust properties or English Heritage Castles which we did a lot of previously with our children. There’s not a lot of publicity about Flag Fen. We only found out about it because I read an article about the excavation in the newspaper. The entrance fee was really cheap compared to other historical sites we’ve visited. We had a very informative and interesting guided tour by Ian which make the trip more worthwhile. We would highly recommend Flag Fen to anyone especially if you are tired of visiting Historical houses or Capability Brown Landscape Gardens!! We enjoyed it tremendously 👍👍👍👍👍
L. C.
We went for the summer solstice event and it was fabulous!! The weather held too.
We had a great day listening to stories in the roundhouse and weaving looms, dying materials and making slingshots!!
Great day out and really well thought through with covid restrictions!
L. R.
A wonderful place but their blurb everywhere (their own premises, the Internet) states last admissions are 4 pm (closing at 5) when in fact 4 pm is when they actually close (since being recently taken over by new management). The lady at the till let us have a free - if only 20 minutes long - look around but we couldn't do much in that time and were very disappointed. That said, it's a remarkable place and well worth a visit.
T. K.
What a fantastic day for all the familly ,the dinosaur hunt was great, digging for fossils great. Very fascinating for old and young, worth the visit.take your own picnic stuff ,plenty of places to sit with regular seats around the site .i walk with walking stick, no problem.nice day out and very reasonably priced 👍
J. W.
Lovely place to visit and a fascinating bit of history
T. H.
Fantastic tour, England's oldest wheel and bronze age boats. The dig your own fossil section is a brilliant idea.
s. s.
Work in progress. Ideal for school trips.
Very interesting but not ideal for families at present. Doesn't take long to explore but getting there.
L. D.
Such a unique and great day out. Lots of events going on throughout the year. Must visit and doesn't cost a fortune to get in.
I.
Fascinating place for those with an interest in the past. By far the highlight is the remains of the causeway. Amazing the details left on the wood and the multiple versions created over time, indicating the importance of the area at the time. Plenty of parking. Loads of space for picnics. Very helpful and informative signage. Great couple of hours.
N. S.
Visited with a 9 year old , 7 year old and 5 month old . Very good we all thought it was alot of fun . Children loved looking around and reading the information and sign posts . The biggest hit was the dig tent . We stopped half way round and spent half an hour in there then popped back before we left and spent 45 minutes in there again . Only down side was most of the off road paths/grass was very bumpy and had alot of holes so was difficult to take our pram round . Definitely worth a visit but it's one of those places that once you've done it then you probably won't need to do it again unless they have new/ different things added
G. D.
Very educational and friendly staff. Liked the bronze age shears and the long boats in particular. The remnants of the causeway are very unusual. Liked the sheep wandering on site.
S. A.
Great day out learning all about our history great for kids even better for adults !
M. S.
This place seems to be only just going again post-Covid. Everything seems to need maintenance or replacement but this does not hinder your enjoyment of an atmospheric location with great archaeology. It's fun for kids too, and has a sizeable shop/ cafe. We sat outside in the Easter sunshine.
B. H.
Excellent archeology site. Particularly liked seeing the remains of the 3500 year old wooden causway preserved in the fenland mud, and the reconstructed wattle and daub round house.
S. B.
Such a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours connecting with the landscape and our past. Staff do knowledgeable and friendly. And great coffee!
j. j.
Wonderful tour provided showing the bronze age history of the area, very interesting and lovely grounds to explore with sheep everywhere
M. F.
First class. A brilliant look at bronze age life. Makes you think and feel proud of our heritage. A very inexpensive yet very informative look back in time. A jewel in the crown site. Highly recommended.
S. F.
Lovely day to go round the site. Soay sheep came up close before taking refuge from the sun. Preservation Hall with its timbers and the Must Farm Boats were a high point. The museum was a little bit of a let down besides the wheel but lovely pictures on the wall and information boards. No guided tours on Sunday was surprising given it must be their peak day for visitors. No Iron Age Round house but I am sure that is to come. Friendly welcoming staff good customer service. Would recommend.
C.
Fantastic day out, kids loved the Big Dig tent and looking for fossils. Even us big kids enjoyed it
S. H.
Amazing place for a day out with children. My daughter loved every part and cannot wait to go back. Perfect for kids that have an interest in any kind of archeology
R. M.
Brilliant experience. But we didn't leave ourselves enough time to properly enjoy it. That was our own fault. And really should have taken my mobility scooter, as it was much further to walk round than I imagined it would.
The 'cafe' was a disappointment, as nothing substantial to eat while we were there. However toilet facilities were spot on, and the little shop interesting too. The only real difficulty for me was trying to read the indoor information boards, as it was very bright outside, and very dim inside. Something that my auto tinting glasses was not very good at.
We will visit again, perhaps with a picnic and my scooter.
There was a scooter, which was possibly for hire, but no info that I could see regarding booking or cost. Something to bear in mind if you have planning a visit in the future.
Well recommended.
B. F.
Like many archaeological sites, Flag Fen nearly requires a pre-existing interest for you to enjoy it, and I would not recommend travelling from beyond the region. But if you live nearby, Flag Fen is one of the best days out on the Fens. The waterlogged wood archaeology from the Bronze Age is impressive even to non-specialists. It includes evidence of a timber boardwalk and boat. The site also includes a very comfortable replica roundhouse that you can relax in. There was also an attempt to breed sheep as they might have been in the Bronze Age, which is a cool attention to detail missing from other places. Gift shop included
Q. B.
For anyone with an interest in prehistoric archaeology, this Important site is well worth visiting & great value for Money. Various indoor and outdoor displays , explaining the history , excavation and preservation of this ongoing exploration of such a valuable piece of Britain's history. Small cafe and shop.for these who like atmospheric ancient places , this location , on a quiet day can provide a thought provoking waft of the distant past. Thoroughly enjoyable. A wonderful display of Bronze age boats being preserved that were found at nearby Must Farm .
S. F.
Lovely calming place with so much history shame it was raining but we still loved it there .
H. E.
Brillant day there. Amazing bronze age site dating from 3500 years ago. Great archeologue/digging activities for kids
A. T.
Had an absolutely brilliant day here. At the time of our visit a number of viking living history groups were on site doing talks and fighting. I highly recommend visiting as it kept us entertained for a whole day!
A. W.
It was an OK visit. We went the weekend of the Viking display which we enjoyed
D. A.
Highly recommended, well worth a visit! There is so my h history here and much more to see than would first appear. Lovely walk too .....
M. H.
Very interesting place to visit, if your into history then you can spend a good couple of hours walking round, they also have a couple of electric buggies so wheelchairs are not needed.
G. S.
A very interesting few hours spent. Bronze age site, with sum items from Must Farm as well.
J. S.
Very interesting. Well worth a visit but recommend having a guided tour.
D. B.
A great place for finding out about the past. We stopped here to break up a longer journey. Enjoyed a few hours break, plenty of space for a picnic, cafe, loos, gift shop & interesting exhibits. Great for bringing a school topic to life for my daughter.
D. T.
Great history, some pieces are still under preparation.
Very well spent 2 hours!
C. B.
Really enjoyed all the different parts from Museum to an ancient drove, reconstructed Bronze Age round house to Roman Herb Garden.... and so much more....it just goes on and on....
S. S.
Lived within a mile of Flagfen most of my life and finally decided today to visit it at last! Very interesting and well worth a few hours out. Nice walk around the site, possibly about a mile and even supply mobility scooters if needed. Great cafe, spotless. Highly recommend
S. D.
Lovely peaceful site with lots of interesting information about the bronze age/iron age. The round house is looking tired and possibly could do with updating with showing how people would have lived using life-size models and artifacts of the time. The building holding the nine found primitive boats/canoes with a video commentary is also interesting. For the kids there's the 'big dig' which is an excellent way for them to learn about archaeology.
R. R.
Lovely site, with friendly knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff.
d. n.
Love this place, make sure you go with the guided tour (free)
A. S.
This place is near to national cycle rout 63, great views from bronze age
H. H.
Great afternoon out with two of our grandchildren (8 n 10 yrs). Beautiful grounds quite a lot to look at/ through which opened up lots of chat about history with the kids when we had a break at the cafe. Gorgeous weather so win win.
P. D.
A pleasant visit to see an archaeological site with reconstructions of ancient buildings.
D. P.
Staff were amazing especially with our daughter who has additional needs. Top visit and will be returning 😊
P. w.
Loved it there everyone is really friendly and the Easter egg hunt and fossil digging
J. D.
What an amazing place we discovered today. Fascinating to see the archaeology and the reconstruction of the round house. Loved the Soay sheep.
Restful and very peaceful cafe.
I. S.
Slightly tricky to find (blame the in car sat nav but trust the brown signs when you get close enough!) but interesting to visit. Largely showcasing Bronze Age discoveries (tools, weapons and jewelry unearthed during excavations of a "bridge" through the fen. Site includes a reconstructed roundhouse, a preserved section of the bridge and preserved wooden canoe-like boats in the largest deep-freeze chamber in England, as well as signs of a Roman road that ran through it. (Impressive, but not much to see!) Wild sheep roam free around the site; a pair of swans seem to have set up home on the small lake and excited schoolchildren run about the fields on educational trips.
R. B.
A great experience. Lots to see and do. Highly recommended.
D. L.
Excellent experience for children who wish to find out about our past. But it needs a slight cosmetic make over
P. B.
Not a bad place to visit, very interesting. Shame about not being able to see the boats.
R. C.
Managed to join a guided tour. Fascinating visit and great staff/volunteers.
C. S.
Interesting place to learn about how the bronze age people lived, found artefacts and wooden boats too
S. G.
Went on the xmas light walk. Always wanted to go and it was fascinating. Great staff and fab marshmallow and hot chocolate. Santa did look cold though
P. a. L. W.
Really fascinating and rewarding archaeological visit. Remarkable Bronze Age site.
G. S.
A lovely place to take the kids to learn about prehistory and have a picnic.
Some very interesting material including bronze age swords a reconstructed roundhouse and log boats. The Soay sheep are also great to see up close and in Spring their beautiful lambs.
T. C.
Great day out very informative, cafe was great ,cream tea excellent for £3.50
R. E.
I’ve visited several times and each time has been great! Very well-designed, and an excellent place to visit if you want to learn about true history and how it is conserved.
J. S.
Took my little one to the Halloween event today. Had the best time in the spooky dig and the face painter was brilliant.
Fantastic, we will be back!! :)
K. R.
Loved it even getting children into archeology by digging into history
J. W.
This is an archaeological site which I found very interesting.
G. H.
Lived in this area nearly all my life and never visited it before. Absolutely loved it well laid loads of information and staff at reception and cafe was very nice
S. P.
It is a bit rustic, but we never knew it existed, very interesting and learnt some new information about East Anglia we didn't know about. Well worth a visit, but probably not when it's been raining.
A. G.
Not much going on, but considering how little remain after Bronze Age, that is amazing place.
J. W.
Great value for money. The tour guide was very good, the tour was at our pace not rushed and very informative.
S. R.
We loved the roundhouse and the preserved worn structures. Info was easy to understand and the wildlife was amazing. Loved it.
P. M.
Wild sheep, a little play park and a cool bronze age but to pay in. My 4 year old enjoyed it for a couple of hours.
Outside of covid there's was a cool archaeology for kids exhibit/play area.
R. M.
Most interesting place to visit, with a 5000 year old history.
J. B.
A fascinating piece of bronze age history. Unfortunately, we visited when there was a "Viking Invasion" event which meant lots of people wandering around in costume and an additional £2 entry charge.
P. W.
I went there a few years ago as a local radio club (PETERBOROUGH & DISTRICT ARC) had a special event station where parks across England were hosting special event stations. I got to enjoy operating the radio in an ancient hut- quite a contrast. I contacted many stations as well as one in France- it was a Brit on holiday, so I was an American using a British callsign talking with a Brit using a French callsign. Anyway, the park was cool and the visitor's centre was nice also.
J. B.
Interesting little visitors centre for local history.
R. W.
Well worth a visit. Showing signs of neglect.
H. C.
A great insight into local life 3000 years age.
A. S.
I loved this place. It was a warm afternoon it was about 4 pm. It was a quiet oasis that we could walk around with ease. There were plenty of places to sit and rent and watch the world and the wildlife. There were lots of interesting places along the route. I liked the children's dig and also the information about wood preservation - the technique described was similar to the Mary Rose but on a smaller scale. I would highly recommend this place. The young lady at reception was really helpful too. You could spend a few happy hours especially if it was nice enough for a picnic. But they did have a cafe with a lovely balcony overlooking the water. Oh heaven!!
G. D. (.
A superb visit and glimpse into the past of the area. We'll laid out. Interpretation boards would benefit from an upgrade but this does not detract from the visit. Staff are marvelous and entry fee very reasonable. Kids will love the Big Dig.
V. D.
Very well laid out, nice knowledgeable staff, we were there for the awesome archaeology day which helped to bring it to life for my 8 & 4 year olds.
A. N.
Revisited after many years. Definitely worth spending 3-4 hrs there. Tours informative. Small site but much to see especially fauna and flora. Staff very helpful friendly. Very nice pot of tea and scones
L. I.
Wonderful place to visit, a glimpse into the past and lots too see. Marvellous!
D. B.
It was an excellent day out, coffee shop was very reasonable priced and the guided tour was lovely, also a lovely setting for a picnic
D. W.
Took my children here for a day long activity club. They absolutely loved it. There were well looked after, completed a massive range of activities and wanted to go back for more.
The actual site is amazing, and though it is now closed for the winter season is well worth a visit when it reopens in spring.
It is a world renowned site, specific to the bronze age, with artefacts not found anywhere else in the world. This is all just outside Peterborough, just as the city disappears, and the beautiful Fens of East Anglia begin.
I. W.
An excellent place to visit if you're in to archaeology.
T. W.
Flag fen is a must see attraction for anyone interested in ancient history. A fascinating glimpse into the distant past. Take a picnic.
D. H.
Such an interesting place to see. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
M. W.
Great fun and interesting.
S. N.
What a great day of adventure and learning, this under utilised site has a wealth of learning and activities for young and old, there's also a nice little cafe and free parking to enjoy. The real gem however is the history, lots of very old sites and artifacts plus there is an archeological dig activity, herb garden and outdoor tour for all to enjoy.
F. M.
A fascinating and informative visit. Loved the sheep & roundhouse.worth a return in spring
C. J.
Unfortunately was closed on this unusually warm day in March. They open just after Easter, probably for 6 months. But lovely & peaceful despite being so close to the city. Amazing (rare breed?) sheep.
K. T.
We can't wait to revisit once it has all reopened. My kids loved the information boards and the lambs really made their day.
M. W.
An interesting exhibit which which includes a round house and an environmentally controlled building containing bronze age wooden structures including a rare causeway which when originally excavated yielded a huge number of bronze age artefacts. However there's not a vast amount here to occupy your time unless there is a guided tour which includes demonstrations and explanations. For such a nationally important archaeological site it lackes the grandeur of some others that I've been to. It would benefit from further investment. that having been said the staff are terrific there's a small simple cafe, which could be improved upon which would surely bring in revenue. and you can certainly fill in a half day here with interesting things to see and look at
J. I.
A recreation of the environs of a very important archaeological site. The Bronze Age wooden causeway has its own atmospherics room to protect the ancient timbers excavated in the 1990s and now of display to the public. The area around has been recreated using archaeobotanic evidence of the flora growing 3300 years ago. The site also contains the boats excavated from Must Farm, a few miles away from the site, where ongoing conservation of the preserved wood can be observed in their own protective tanks. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. A great day out for kids with plenty of space to run about. Highly recommended.
N. G.
Very surprised in what was at Flag Fen, so much history. Well laid out and certainly well worth a visit.
I'm sure I'll be back with my grand children.
F. M.
Very interesting displays, excellent signage and great to be able to see some timbers in original positions.
Welcoming staff
D. K.
Interesting and informative place. Well worth the walk. Enjoyed the long walk with views of the preserved digs. The area is easy going at times with ample parking during holidays and summer days. You have to do it.
a. d.
the kids had a great tim, especially doing big dig
b. H.
With a little imagination you are transported many years back to a simpler time. Nationally important site for Bronze Age excavations with cafe and shop and lots to explore. Well worth a visit by curious adults and kids fascinated by pre-history.
T. 1.
Very interesting and good to see the bronze age archaeology. But could do with a bit of TLC (e.g.notice boards that refer to things you can't see or aren't there! Museum with very few artefacts) but overall we had a good visit and it was inexpensive to get in.
L. B.
Great activity for a day. Well set out circuit taking you through the history of flag fen. Plenty of old archaeological sites and specimens to look at. Added bonus of lots of wildlife in the area too, plus a herd of heritage sheep.
T. N.
Great place if you are interested in Archeology.. A reconstruction of a Causeway could have been even more educational
k. b.
Loved it, had a great time learning about the history of the area and looking at the findings.
A. B.
Kids loved it here, well layed out, and an easy gentle walk, very much worth the visit
H. S.
Absolute gem, wonderful day out have never felt such a connection to ancestors from so long ago. Highly recommended for history buffs and family fun alike. Support Flag fen whilst it is still there as the unique causeway may disappear within our lifetime.
T. R.
Muddy and raining when we visited. Set up well for young visitors at half-term
P. A.
It is an interesting place but very little on when we visited. Not many artefacts in the museums. 'Dig' area was closed. One roundhouse closed for refurb. It needs much more to see and do before we'd make another visit even though the causeway was impressive.
J. H.
The history is presented very sympatheticly.some good stuff from the bronze age and the event day are well put together. Also it's just n some beautiful scenery and reasonably priced.
h. s.
Amazing place! Everyone should definitely visit.
S. M.
Hmmm ... open or closed - you decide !
It's half term for the children, and daddy is taking a rare day off to look after the children and do a day out. I rang ahead, and the recorded message said that they were open. Drove for one and a bit hours with small children; arrived; open ? Not a chance.
The people that we did find there were very helpful, and very apologetic.
We rescued something by having lunch in the bronze age round house, which *was* open.
Get your act together, people !
p.
Wonderful place really good tour guide was fantastic.
Nice place to picnic and nice lemon drizzle cake
P. P.
Love the way this is laid out and have all had a good experience from young to teen to adult. The round houses are good when they have the Re enactors in. Lots to learn about the Peterborough fen area. From howbthe land has changed to the archaeology finds.
C. D.
More of a place for children but looks as though it could do with some money put into it as one of the huts were missing looked like it had burnt down from what was left I'm it's place
A. T.
What a find this place is. The remains of the causeway which are displayed on site are truly amazing. I can recommend taking one of the guided tours which help to bring the place alive. An excellent place to take the children, and so close to Peterborough.
a. m.
Good place to learn about the bronze age.
G. P.
Very good and very interesting. Plenty of open space as well as well displayed exhibits.
R. S.
This is a wonderful place for anyone interested in history. There is a fantastic area for children to use equipment and record their findings etc We had a great time. It's just fascinating!!!
C. I.
Lovely walk and very informative. Nice little museum as well
C. T.
You can't beat a bit of history
A. E.
Great day out nice little cafe for drinks, good little walk and Viking display was fantastic
M.
Well worth a visit! Fascinating to see such a wonderful piece of local history. Very reasonable entry price too. A lovely morning out.
L. A.
Excellent. Interesting - transformed my sense of stones and potholes in the ground with occasional pot sherds and other small finds, into appreciating how people would have felt 'at home', with some surprisingly familiar aspects to furnishings.
M. R.
An awe inspiring place of enormous importance. A window into 3500 years ago and an intriguing mystery
J. M.
It was good to see how we used to live. I was a wee bit disappointed that there was not many artifacts to look at.
G. C.
Really interesting, lots to learn
C. S.
This has always been an exciting place to visit if you are interested in the people of the Bronze Age in Britain, but, following the Must Farm excavations, has become a Must Visit site. Plenty of space has been made available to give an idea of what has been found at the "Bronze Age Pompeii ".
S. J.
Interesting but also a very peaceful and relaxing experience. Would like more of the new Must Farm exhibits but I guess that will come now the exhibition in the City museum is over
A. S.
Good setting. Interesting to see the beginnings of settlement in Peterborough. My grandson particularly liked the archeological dig and being able to get stuck in finding pottery and artefacts - brilliant!
P. B.
Wonderful day out. Lovely for a picnic in the beautiful setting where your ancestors trod.
L. P.
First time visit to Flag Fen today, both lecturers were brilliant and the place itself is full of hidden treasures. A delight, as well as being informative and a return visit will be very soon.
S. C.
An Archaeology Park on the site where Frances Pryor of Time Team found the remains of a Bronze Age timber causeway. Part of the causeway is on view on site along with other artefacts discovered including the oldest wheel to be discovered. Also mentions Must Farm discovery described as Britain's Pompeii (no volcanoes here though). Has a shop and machine selling sandwiches.
o. b.
This archeologicical park is amazing.
Flag Fen is amazing!
Flag Fen has:
• 1 reconstructed roundhouse
