This collection of war memorabilia is amazing, my husband and I took our three boys aged 5,9 and 16. They all loved it and so did we. They have items for sale, bullets, hats, ect... all at reasonable prices and they also have snacks and drinks. Would definitely recommend a visit, it's great!
G. E.
Really surprised me how many army vehicles they had, my 6 Yr old son loved looking into them and seeing the different shells in the floor. The place looked, smelt and felt old which is exactly how a historical collection should be, much more realistic than a tank in a museum on a polished floor. Pictures are just a few of the vehicles there.

Had a lovely morning here. Very interesting stuff. Took my two young daughters who really enjoyed it too. Very good exibits, very reasonably priced and a very peacefull location. The Anderson shelter was a hit. We all felt a bit "whoa, this must have been scary" would recommend.
C. M.
A great place full of military vehicles, tanks, guns & much more. Only £9 to get in. A bit out in the wilds, how they got some of those tanks there I will never now.
M. L. B.
A good insight into the machinery and mechanics of WW2. I visited with my young nephews and my daughters. The boys were bowled away and the girls also enjoyed it. Lots of vehicles from armoured cars, tanks and trucks but also push bikes and even a collapsible motor bike in a canister for air drops. They are all packed in quite tight but it does mean you can get right up close. You do realise that the vehicle crews were probably bruised every day working inside such tight metal confines. There is also lots of memorabilia and lots of weapons and well as a lot of information notices that gave extra details. There are a few light and sound exhibits like the Anderson shelter and some video display screens showing various films and photos montages. In all it was a good morning out and you do feel that by visiting you are helping to preserve these amazing pieces of history.

Amazing collection, vast amount of items to look at from tanks, to guns, interactive bomb shelter and vehicles, clothing, helmets, genuine and legitimate items and artefacts which tell the story of certain people from world war 2. Great shop. Little cafe. Lovely staff.
S. M.
Big collection of military items, good exhibits but could do with a dusting and better explanations but can recommend.
J. P.
Visited today, found it a great collection which could have come straight from the battlefield, all rustic with that old military hard wear smell, the memorabilia and weapons were really interesting. The pasty was tasty and staff very helpful and polite, the toilets were good Well worth the visit.
C. J.
A fantastic and vast collection of military firearms, vehicles, equipment and film props. A great afternoon out and highly recommended
S. M.
Well worth a trip if you're into military history. Some genuinely rare and fascinating exhibits.
J. S.
Very good collection. very nice little tea and coffee ☕ van inside and nice flap jacks. Good value. it's a good collection as everything is explained. would definitely recommend.
L.
An interesting way to spend a few hours. Lots of stuff to see and a great deal of detail if you spend the time to read the info charts. It's a bit out of the way though and the road down is not the greatest
L. C.
This place is fantastic. Been a few times now and will definitely go again. Highly recommend.
K. P.
Amazing collection, very educational, children loved it too, great little naffy van cafe, well worth a visit!
W. W.

If you like military history then there is no place better than this place in Devon. Been going here for years and there is always something new or something I missed as there is a lot here. The owner is fantastic and knows his stuff and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Great gift shop too
R. A.
Amazing collection of WW2 era vehicles, weapons and artefacts.
J. W.
We visited today, and can recommend this place. It’s run and own by a family and it’s a private collection. It’s not as big as some but the collection is very good, a mixture of tanks, vehicles, displays and lots of guns and knives. Everything is laid out great, lots in original condition. Some really interesting stuff. Picnic benches outside.
M. D.
Excellent collection highly recommend a visit. Will be back next year
m. b. (.
Very interesting large and private collection not aimed at the PC brigade. You get a real feel for what terrible suffering the brave went through for us, not only in the two world wars but also other conflicts around the world in the 20th century. There is also a well priced army surplus store which also sells objects of genuine historical interest. Marvellous.
P. S.
Definitely worth a visit.. A wonderful place.. I was very fortunate to be allowed to sit in the driver seat of a 434... The first time since I served in the REME in 1980..The staff made sure that I was supervised at all times. I felt very privileged.
B. M.
Without doubt one of my favourite museums, I wish that I lived nearer so I could visit regularly. One of the things you don't get in many museums where everything is restored is the smell and Cobbaton has it in spades, almost everything is in its original condition, I can't recommend the place enough. I'm hoping to be down next year. I can't wait. (The only other museum comparable is the Hooge crater museum in Belgium, another I highly recommend.)
J. V.
Fantastic exhibition, great for kids, knowledgeable guy at the counter answered lots of our questions about military history. We spent about 4 hours here going around the displays twice and eating lunch from the cafe.
D. L.
Seemed a little on the expensive but once you're in you can see this is a working progress and as all projects need funding. That aside it was really enjoyable, some good exhibits not all relating to war, brought back some nice memories! Just a pity no dogs are allowed otherwise it would have received 5 stars.
M. L.
This is an exceptional military museum and should not be missed by anyone interested in WWII militaria. The collection has to be unique and hopefully it will progress to a position where the phenomenal range of items can be fully displayed to advantage. The jumbled nature of the collection does not detract from the incredibility of the exhibits. This will be a must see location any time I am in the area
J. M. M.
A small but very well equipped gem of a museum. Loads of exhibits most of which are in their original condition.
Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
M. C.
What a lovely and warm welcome we got on arrival. Price was brilliant too. So much more than expected to see. I learnt a lot from the history also from my grandad that I took to visit. What an amazing collection.
Many thanks
D. P.
Great place!
Wonderful collection of WW2 weapons, very interesting British, Canadian, Russian, German,Argentinian tanks and artillery pieces.
Worth the price!
Very friendly, good for a family walk in history day.
T.
Great collection and very friendly staff. Was a special treat to see the Churchill Crocodile and have a good long chat with the man on the tills who was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Even bought myself a souvenir WW2 bullet! Overall a great few hours spent here would highly recommend.
J. B.
Extra place for so many exhibits that you do not know what to look at first. It's really worth seeing, it's impressive how much time someone put in to collect it all. It's really worth seeing this collection I recommend 5 stars
B.
Really lovely time, my three children really enjoyed coming and seeing everything. Fantastic place. Definitely worth a visit.
S. H.
Great experience, reasonably priced. My 4yr old was so excited walking round seeing all the military vehicles and paraphernalia. Well worth a visit 😊
a. h.
Fantastic collection of wartime vehicles, weapons and memorabilia! Really quirky museum hidden away in the Devon countryside. Very friendly owner who's happy to talk and give you information.
M. B.
This place contains a lot of heavy war machinery both UK and German. If you like to look at killing machines, it's for you! If you wonder at how real people were brutally inserted into the tanks and survived or not, then questions will be many.
C. H.
The museum has been wonderfully displayed with a huge collection to see, packed in three hangers. It has a cafe and sizable shop to browse through. The staff a really friendly and helpful. I went looking for nato green paint :)
J. H.
Fantastic collection. Very interesting & educational. Fascinating artifacts & military equipment.
Worth a visit 🙂
F. T. L. O. C.
Have taken my lads to this museum a couple of times now. They love it... well worth a visit.
J. P.
Really impressive range of war-related items. From large tanks and guns down to ration books and gas masks. For something that started as a personal hobby, a lot of effort has gone into something worth paying to see. There is a mocked up air raid shelter so you can experience a "raid". There is also a range of award winning pies and local ice cream.
B. H.
Considering this is a private collection and not a museum per se this is a very good collection. There are a lot of items to see and the staff were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Well worth a visit if you like military items and history.
V. B.
Found this completely by accident, glad we did ,hubby saw the same gun his grandad used in ww2 which has been a dream of his , staff are lovely ,very interesting collection well worth a visit will definitely go again
K. G.
Refreshments out the front. Car parking available
M. H.
We took our grandson and he was overwhelmed by the collection of wartime memorabilia we had a brilliant few hours going back in time it was interesting and moving and made you realise the consequences of war at any time thankyou
S. B.
If you like your military history then this is definitely a place you'll want to visit. It's packed to the rafters with exhibits.
G. J.
Went last year and revisited on the 31st May. They hadn't changed much and I think is a little pricey for what they have. Its not bad to kill an hour if you haven't been before. I only went a second time because a family member wanted to visit.
C. G.
Had a great day even my 2year old loved looking at all the old tanks he especially liked the air raid shelter kept going back to it. Great cafe bar lovely coffees and great ice creams for the kids.
B. C.
My husband has been wanting to visit for a while. We went today and were not disappointed. Very informative and thought provoking. Staff very knowledge and friendly.
D. R.
Very good way to spend a few hours. Great displays and information.
Its clear that this collection/museum was built on a passion for what it displays.
NAAFI wagon was a nice touch and they even sell a lot of surplus kit including deactivated weapons and inert rounds.
Road to get there was a little awkward due to being so tight, but we managed fine. I was more concerned with how the hell did they get some of the vehicles down there!? I mean a T54 tank is a little bigger than a Fiat Panda!
P. L.
Easy parking. Interesting presentation, a great deal of military history covering 1 and 2 world war and some recent conflicts. It prompted many questions from our grandchildren age 10 and 13 years old. The collection is housed in large hangers all on one level with easy wheelchair accessible. Small NAAFI wagon for drinks and cakes etc.
k.
This must be the best private military collection in the country. Everything from military sewing kits to tanks, it's all there and you can touch most things. Wonderful NAAFI wagon serves hot and cold food and drink with locally sourced foods. All in all a great day out!
B. C.
Very enjoyable morning out.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not expensive. Extremely interesting and plenty to see especially as it is a private collection not a museum. Great coffee 👍
T. R.
I read my book but my husband and 16yr old spent 2hrs here they absolutely love it 5th visit. It's a very informative place but not very commercial it's someone else's love being shared.......i get 2hrs rest I've been round twice leave them too it
D. J.
Lots to see here, in places too much. Could be better laid out. Small Naafi wagon serving food and cold drinks. Toilets as well.
M. G.
This large collection of military vehicles and equipment is presented in Second World War storage and maintenance sheds. It is remarkably authentic with knowledgeable staff. The NAAFI wagon does teas coffee and light snacks so there is no reason no to stay all day. Whether you are a military buff or a serious military historian, this is the place to get close to the real thing. I will be back.
A. G.
Lovely collection of memorabilia from times of conflict. Highly recommended for a visit. Lovely ambiance with the smell of engines and oil.
m. t.
Great day out with the kids, and they loved it even though they are aged 6 and 13, there is plenty to see and there shop is amazing, lots to buy for adults and children and for a cheap price to, the entry cost was good to, I recommend this place to everyone.
B. H.
Fascinating mix of memorabilia. Oily, dusty and in need of a spring clean, bit like a giant supply depot. One for the boys!
P. V.
Interesting location packed full of rich militairy history of the last 70+ years. A museum with real athmosphere and with owners who clearly overflow with both knowledge and enthousiasm. Special mention for the fantastic foodtruck!
C. B.
Interesting but a bit oike walking around a large shed full of brick a brack. Few tanks and other vehicles which you cant go in. Loads of bits and bobs. Shells, ammo, guns
Spent only 30 minutes there
C. H.
Great collection, a real boys dream day out.
S. R.
Interesting visit, loads to see. Naffi wagon too!
S. C.
Good place if into military vehicles obviously, but bit in the middle of nowhere and to be honest the place could do with a bit of a revamp and clean up and exhibitions need a bit of tlc. Food truck good and friendly staff shop items interesting
M. R.
Amazing. I love WW2 tanks and memorabilia. My father was a tankie. Went through Dunkirk, the desert campaign and Italy and this collection brings to life his war stories.
A. N.

A really good place to bring your children, even my 13 year old, who normally doesn't like this kind of thing, loved it especially the bullets she could buy, great price
A. D.
Great place to stop off for few hours when travelling up or down Atlantic highway. Huge collection of combat related items from tanks through to bullets in three enormous sheds.

(Translated) Three romney sheds really packed with all kinds of military equipment, from the Boer War to the Cold War, with an emphasis on WW II. The arrangement is completely different from. modern museums such as the NMM and the FAAM. No cleanly polished tanks but tanks where the mud is still on the tracks and the grenade impacts can still be seen! All of this creates a realistic looking dingy atmosphere. Shop and simple catering available. Well worth it.
(Original)

sehenswert.
Hab kaum glauben können was
man hier zu Sehen bekommt.
So etwas hab ich zu vor nicht mal ansatzweise zu Gesicht bekommen.
