Fantastic place to visit for the whole family and all ages. Adults can ride with children on fairground rides from the bygone era. Complete with museum, gift shop and cafe. Buy your ticket once and come back as often as you like for a year!! Great value
J. W.
What a brilliant place, truly warm welcome from all staff (volunteers). And a trip back to my youth on th wonderful rides. A treat not to be missed.
N. K.
Lovely, some amazing old fairground rides had a really great time, well worth a visit 😀
S. k.
Great afternoon spent here enjoying the vintage rides and arcade games and looking at all the other exhibits. Will definitely be back again soon
Z. H.
This morning we visited Dingles, what a wonderful hidden gem. Amazing to see all of the fairground rides working, all of the team were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to assist and ensure my granddaughter was comfortable and happy on the rides.
Thank you so much for a wonderful day
S. O.
Good fun. Lovely friendly knowledgeable staff. Great going on the old rides. I'll definitely go again this summer. Good value
K.
Recent visit fantastic place, lovely volunteers staffing the rides, laughed so much hurt my stomach! Scream if you want to go faster and we did. Magical place for adults and children alike
P. N.
Went on a Friday pm slot, all on one level, which is good for a wheelchair, the loos are out the back over a gravel area, need to pull wheelchair backwards. There was only 2 staff on when we went, so had to wait for someone on the stalls & cafe, but a really interesting place x
Z. S.
Had a brilliant time as a group of 8 adults. Plenty to keep entertained including working rides and amusements, and historical peices. Very welcoming staff - would recommend.
S. K.
Was great fun well worth the visit

What a wonderful idea, and what a wonderful place. Perfect if the weather is good or bad!All indoor fun and education! See things here that you will never see again, some items date back to the 1890's. Fabulous warehouses of history. Sky Rocket, dodgems, Ghost Train, carousel, Smash the Saucer you name it they have it! Terrific fun for every age group, long may it continue to improve and impress.

Had a good afternoon here with the family. Amazed at how many rides are under cover. Had a cafe but didn't experience that.
Fair pricing given you can return for free as much as you like within a year and just buy extra tokens to play on rides.
My kids probably a little on the young side 9months and 31/2 but still had fun.
Shall probably return when close enough.

Fantastic place! The history behind the art work on fairground equipment and the how the rides and sideshows have evolved over time. We bought saver tickets so we had 10 free tickets for the vintage rides and I really enjoyed them. Amazing how an 90 year old ride like the Ark, can give as much of a thrill as modern day rides now
C. N.
Absolutely brilliant day out for kids and adults. We headed here on a rainy day (its all indoors) and had so much fun, will definitely be returning!
L. J.
Incredible place to visit with the really vintage rides. Great place for children and for adults. The staff were really friendly, would come up for a chat and really informative about the rides and where they came from which gave a bit more history to them. Was really nice to look round the museum and play with all of the old gambling machines. Great place to visit and would recommend to everyone
C. N.
Fantastic memories of the traditional fairgrounds with simpler rides and array of stalls, all displayed sympathetically in the halls, with many in use. Electronic blaring noise kicked out for the tradional one-armed bandits. Music provided by beautiful fairground organs, especially so if a weekend of many others visiting. Enthusiastic team keep all in fantastic shape and demonstrate skills, although the large collection of traditional fairground vehicles and trailers (rember the scamel workhorses) will be a massive challenge to restore to their former glory. A great visit.
L. B.
Really good day out. Starts as a museum leading to the indoor fairground. The museum was very interesting, the rides were really good considering the age (80+ years old) shooting little metal men, hook a duck, all the classics, would be good for all ages AND there is disabled access. When we went there were young couples with 1-2 year olds and a lot of people over 70 so it shows it it for everyone. The people were so pleasant too
M. E.
When we first drove in we thought we must have been in the wrong place a farm or hillbilly land. However when we got inside the place is amazing, really well maintained such enthusiasm from the staff and a really really good price. The food is also nice and not expensive unlike many attractions.
S. D.
Had a lovely time! We were staying in a place nearby and thought to check it out. It was really interesting and they had loads of old fairground memorabilia which was cool. The only downside was that a lot of the stalls in the fairground had no one attending them so we couldn't have a go. Other than that, good way to spend a couple of hours.
L. M.
A great rainy day out for the family with lots to see and do. The thing to remember is that this is a museum and if you come expecting a full on fairground you'll be disappointed. The part of the centre with working rides is great fun but as it's staffed mostly by volunteers not all the rides are manned at all times. That being said the popular ones are manned almost all the time and are a lot of fun. The dodgems are as much fun as any and Moonrocket is a great little ride. Best to buy your ride tokens in advance online as you'll get more for your money that way. The food in the cafe is reasonably priced and good quality.
G. S.
Yeah well worth a visit, we love old heritage displays and as most of what's on offer here is interactive makes it great fun! Spent most of our time on the old penny slots. We started with something to eat at the cafe which was really nice food and staff, then went onto the attraction. If you scoot around quickly you're missing the point and will be finished in under an hour, spend your time to appreciate and use the attractions however and you'll be entertained for hours! All the staff there were so freindly and were really welcoming and personal, we really enjoyed it and will be back again!
K. R.
Not for thrill seekers.
If you like good old fashioned fun fairs this is an interesting place to visit. It's great that these rides are being preserved and are still being used.
Your entrance ticket is valid for 12 months and it's all in doors so perfect for the British weather.
L. D.
Great place full of nostalgia. They've done a wonderful job of renovating and preserving the rides and machines. They could do with more volunteers to help keep all of the rides running at the same time.
B. H.
Laughter and giggles for 3 adults , nostalgic , memorable great atmosphere , staff super lovely and do everything to please , there are 5 adult family rides and some smaller children rides make up the collection . Great informative museum and fair organ. Cafe decorative arts good seating nice food at a reasonable price . A hidden Jem. A great day out , purchased voucher from Groupon bought tokens to ride attractions which are 50p each most rides cost 1.00 to 1.50 each.
L. W.
What an unexpected gem!! When my sister told me we were going here for mums birthday I didn’t expect much but boy was I wrong! The vintage rides were great fun, we spent at least an hour on the old slot machines, and the historical displays were fascinating. And the fact your ticket gets you back in for 12 months for free is a fantastic bonus. Highly recommend this for a fun day out for all ages!
M. K.
Brilliant experience. Relive the past at a very realistic fairground with rides from your past. Very nostalgic and GREAT FUN. Will definitely be coming back especially with free entry for the following year. Would have given 10 stars if allowed.
M. M.
Absolutely loved it. As soon as we arrived a young boy shouted "best place EVER" and after my first ride on the Moonrockets I know why. The perfect mix of history, entertainment and antique rides that are fully functional. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Do keep in mind it's a museum, and not a fairgrounds, so at peak times there might be a short wait for rides.
S. G.
Great place, loads to see and really good for the young and old.. it has captured the old fairgrounds atmosphere. All the volunteers do a wonderful job.. We will definitely be back.
S. S.
First impressions was it was going to be dull, but the penny arcades are great to play and the rides are so much faster than you think. The dodgem cars was such fun.
S. H.
Fab time enjoyed by the family if you are interested in Fairgrounds and social history this would be a must visit for you. Excellent value for money, catering is also brilliant on site, reasonably priced and good food available.
S. B.
Never seen so many smiling happy faces, including the staff! Great fun, would recommend.
S. B.
Had a really really good day out here. Lots of old and still functioning fairground rides which you can go on and lots of old slot machines. Plus the burgers in the cafe are incredible
t.
wasn't busy at all when I came, very good but a bit expensive, you pay for tokens (50p each) each ride is 3-4 tokens and then you have to pay for entry as well.
H. M.
I used to come to Dingles as a kid with my family. That was always a fun time. I came again late last year and it hadn’t changed much (not a bad thing at all) and just as enjoyable. There’s a type of nostalgia for everyone here, whether it like me from experiencing the same place as a child or just someone reminiscing on the kinds of fairground rides and games they used to enjoy in their earlier years. It’s an attraction for kids and adults alike and a great day out for families.
A. S.
All the kids (5, 7, 41, 42 and 75) had a great time here. We will go back and would recommend to others.
j. h.
Fantastic day out, volunteers so friendly and welcoming
s. c.
This was fantastic. I loved every second of this place. The rides were great, the old arcade machines fun and the people super nice. Would go again.
S. M.
Interesting for adults to learn about old fairground rides. And fun for the kids and adults having a go..nice day out...
Excellent burger at the cafe aswell!
I. P.
It's good but could do with more maintenance like keeping the change machines working and fixing the flooded path through the transport museum.
A. A.
Best Santa experience ever. We come here a few times a year and are never disappointed. 12 month pass with each entry is a bonus for locals too!
W. S.
Highly recommend this place for a day out. It’s entertaining for people of all ages - we had two under fives and an older person amongst the group. We wanted something to fill a rainy afternoon, and it had enough to see and do for everyone.
The first section is more a museum/exhibition focusing on the social history of fairgrounds, and further in are the old renovated fairground rides. Great fun was had on the dodgems and various other rides, with side attractions like a coconut shy etc.
Cafe food was surprisingly good, everyone enjoyed a varied selection from the menu. All the staff both in the cafe and manning the rides were friendly and helpful.
R. D.
Great day out on a wet day pay once go for free for a year just buy your tokens for the rides
t. m.
great place if weather is bad outside. lovely old rides. Children really enjoyed themselves. only thing need more staff around as so many rides unmanned. left waiting for long periods of time.
M. G.
Hidden gem in the Devon countryside. All undercover, this attraction is a real time machine. All rides beautifully restored and in working order. With fairground rides and a museum and a great café. Free parking on site and with wheelchair access.
A. P.
Great place for kids of all ages. We spent a couple of hours there, but could have stayed a lot longer.
C.
Amazing place. Children had a great time. 😍😍
e. E.
Lovely place kids love it so did I ha ha would deffo recommend keep up the good work.
H. M.
We had such a wonderful day at Dingles Fairground! Lots of lovely memories... the Carousel and Dodgem Cars were great! The museum was fascinating...a real insight into the history and lives of those living and working in fairgrounds across the country.
L. C.
Absolutely superb day out at dingles with friends and the kids. The rides are so much fun, the staff friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. Definitely going back again.
e. p.
Lots and lots of fun you could spend hours there on the old rides they have there
R. C.
Fantastic! We loved it. Great day out for all the family. We had a 9 month old up to 57 years old and we all loved it. We're going again next year.
M. G.
Lovely place for adults and children, havnt been for 2 years now, but I'm hoping they will b open in 2022.
K. F.
Such a lovely collection. Loved being able to go on some of the vintage rides. Not their fault but just wish there was a bit more to see/do
s. j.
Set in beautiful countryside. I loved my visit here beautiful fairground rides. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic.
M. T.
Great place for all. Kids will love it as will grown up kids who can relive parts of their past. Take lots of 1p and 2p coins for all the games machines....M7
d. m.
Fantastic day yet again always come here when on holiday kids love it plenty to keep everyone entertained
K. G.
Great seeing the old rides and things working, Dodgems best
C. W.
Good value for money,very nostalgic

Shaws moonrocket & poppye of John lings old moonrocket which used to sit on top of Albert Evans Atkinson which used to pull the waltzer now know as the atmosphere creator owned by Albert John Evans
M. S.
Great time for all ages. Plenty for my grandson to enjoy. Plenty for me to reminisce about.
C.
Historic fun fair rides lovely restored and running by a great team, great day out for all
N. G.
Sure was a step back in time.fantastic 4 hours.
k. S.
Amazing place! Staff were very friendly and kind!
T. S.
GOOD ALL ROUND FUN AND ALL UNDERCOVER SO IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S RAINING, REASONABLY PRICED TOO
R. H.
Perfect way to wait out Storm Dennis! All indoors so didn't notice the dreadful weather outside. It was quite quiet too, everyone obviously stayed at home. We loved the dodgems, biggest track in UK apparently? Moon rocket and ghost train were fun. Rides are relatively tame, but some are pretty old, which adds a slight edge to things (all very safe). Kids love hook a duck and other fairground stalls, crazy mirrors and penny machines. Some really interesting fairground history, staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. The rides were at set times though rather than continuous, but probably because not many people were there. You will need extra tokens if you want to ride everything, you get 10 each with entry and each ride/stall is 3, except dodgems which are 4 per car. 50p per token. Sometimes they have a circus thing going on I believe, but not the day we were there. Free face painting though. You can spend 2-4 hours here happily, but probably wouldn't stay much longer. Ticket is valid for return within 12 months if you gift aid. Definitely recommend as a good way to spend a wet half day in Devon, especially if you enjoy all the fun of the fair!
S. R.
Thoroughly enjoyed it a bit for all ages. Get the Groupon voucher cheaper with a family
S. H.
Awesome attraction, the kids loved it
K. S.
Great old fashioned rides and wonderful café. A brilliant place to spend a morning or afternoon.
E. D.
Amazing place for a day out with family or just friends! Mum loved playing on the coin machines, she said they took her back to her youth! There were rides for the adults and younger kids too. We all had amazing fun despite the weather being glum. We will definitely go back in the summer!
s. s.
Great place for the kids
D. D.
The rides were fun and well maintained, as well as being as a trip down memory lane for the older ones. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. Our experience was helped due to it being a quiet day, but would recommend if fairgrounds are your thing and you want a day away from the beach.
T. H.
This is a real hidden gem, a living history of the showmen of yesteryear.
D.
This is small but good fun for all the family, we all had great fun playing the old penny machines and the old fairground rides, good skmple fun, had by three generations of our family.
N. C.
Took our two children (9 and 11). They loved the rides and the penny arcades. Wasn’t too busy so we didn’t have to queue. We had a great time on the dodgems and carousel. Great for a rainy day as it is all inside (the car park is basically a field, so take wellies or suitable footwear if you plan to visit while it is raining).
S. H.
We had a fabulous afternoon here with our children aged 5 & 19 months. It was great seeing the old rides and the staff, many who were volunteers, were really knowledgable about the rides and you could tell enjoyed talking about the history etc. It made a nice change from the usual modern fair ground experience, great for both adults and kids. We went on a rainy afternoon in the summer holidays and it wasn’t too busy at all which was a bonus seeing as it is all undercover. We didn’t try the cafe but it did look nice. Would definitely recommend this place and we will return again.
K. L.
Good place to escape the rain! The rides were great fun and I was glad to see they hadn't retrofitted extra seatbelts etc. but instead just ran the rides as they were originally intended. Staff were clearly enthusiastic about their role. Great that adults accompanying small children on rides did not have to pay to ride.
P. H.
Great indoor place, ideal for a rainy day. The staff were lovely, great rides and a good cafe. Its a bit off the beaten track but worth a visit. The price of the admission ticket gives you entry for the year leaving you only paying for the cost of the tickets.
The rides work out to be a bit pricey so it's best to take it slowly round there.
C. S.
Excellent place for young and old alike, informative and fun. Highly recommended
s. w.
What an experience! Incredible place, interesting exhibits and the best rides ever. Haven't laughed so much in ages! The ghost train was surprisingly scary and the rides much faster than expected. Knowledgeable staff who were enthusiastic and passionate about the place. Will be back as soon as possible.!
B.
A great day out very nostalgic and good value for money.
A. W.
Lovely couple of hours spent here with the kids. Slightly spoilt by the volunteer ending the dodgems ride early as a few riders kept crashing into the parked cars. Waisted 8 of our tokens when he should have just removed the culprits. Transport area a bit disappointing. All other staff very friendly, rides were fun and great to see the history of the fairground rides. Good for a wet Day on holiday.
P. M.
A good day out . We had a lovely time.
D. B.
Good old fashion fairground great for kids even when raining nice friendly staff whould recommend for young children
S. B.
Absolutely fantastic place,we go often, and it never ceases to amaze us..Great work by Great Volunteers and staff alike, keep up the Brilliant work guys...see you soon..
K. B.
Great mix of rides and museum, the girls had a great time as did us adults 😁
A. d. G.
Great, loads to do and see. Interact with the exhibits and ride on the dodgems, caterpillar and many more(All 3 tokens each pp.) Also play on the old one arm bandits for a penny or 2p per time. Get the saver tickets that's includes tokens, as they're 50p to buy if you don't. Great, great place.
M. L.
Amazing place highly recommended pay once and get free entry for 12 months when you gift aid
S. M.
This is the place to go for ALL adults who want to be a child again! All the rides are amazingly well preserved. The staff are fantastically friendly and you can tell they love what they do. You have got to visit this place. I'm not kidding...go with your children, or grandchildren. Or, like we did today, with friends and just play like you did when you were 6 but were too small to go on the rides. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Please do yourselves the biggest favour and go and have some fun.
J. R.
Loved it. Great staff who were kind and offered to take photos of us on the rides. Lovely place run by lovely people. Would definitely go again and would take friends. (small caveat, we went on a quiet day)
N. W.
Great fun for all the kids especially the grown up one's.
M.
Absolutely wonderful to see, and ride, the fairground rides from the 1930s. All beautifully restored. Plenty to see and plenty to do for all ages. Good café - we enjoyed the scones and tea! Easy parking. A great day out - and we'll go back.
[July2019] Update - We did go back, and it was just as good!! We reused our "12 month" ticket from 2018 with no problem. You will need to purchase more tokens for the rides - but it's still a cheap day out.
A. E.
Love this place! We try and go every year whilst on holiday. Old fair ground rides and slot machines that are very reasonably priced. The history of the fair kept in working order for you to enjoy. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially when the very old slot machines breakdown and they try to fix them for you.
C. P.
This is an epic place full stop.
Once you've paid to go in, you ticket is valid for the rest of the season, so you can go back and only pay for tokens.
The tokens themselves aren't expensive but do give you access to all the childhood fair ground rides you used to love, best still, you can ride the dodgems for ages with few others on.
Amazing place
P. A.
Fantastic day out no matter the weather
D. C.
Good place for a family day out! Can be quite expensive though.
T. H.
Short version: a charitable trust with a lot of excellent fairground rides and wonderful examples of travelling showman history.
Long version:
Things I love are the penny one-armed bandits, and the tuppenny drop machines, good amusement and entertainment value.
The artwork examples are also spectacular, some preserved, others left in a more original state. Ask for entry to the education centre to see an original canvas panel painting
Same is to be said for the showman's wagons, caravans and transports, some well preserved, others in waiting, all interesting.
Models and some mechanisms are also in abundance, for me it would be great if there were more examples of the latter to satisfy the engineer in me.
Have made good use of the annual ticket, now our fourth visit. It's an hour's travel from our base in Cornwall so convenient for a break in the journey.
When have been before has been fairly empty, this fourth time at the middle of the day in half term, and the place is rammed with people. And yet there are ample staff / volunteers in the cafe and around the rides so there are not huge queues or other problems associated with large crowds.
Even parking wasn't a problem as there is good space.
The only drawback are the exhaust fumes from the diesel generator that drives the rides, no longer steam powered as it used to be many years ago. A really tall chimney would be needed to drive them well up the hill, this is not enough of a detraction from this otherwise amazing destination.
V. R.
Kids absolutely loved it, as did the grown ups. Plenty of rides, some of them are mental, was holding on for dear life to one of them! Beautiful original old time attractions, the huge merry go round is stunning. This place looks amazing in photographs, if you're Insta inclined. Great steam museum attached. Refreshments available. All under one roof so an excellent place to visit on a rainy day, the lights are everywhere and will brighten your day and your spirits :)
R. V.
Bought tickets/tokens online so a bit cheaper, kids really enjoyed it, the dodgems especially. Brilliant penny arcade that I missed the first time. Great café that does main meals/light lunches, full range of coffee and desserts. Kind staff that go out their way to make it as fun as possible
J. H.
What a fantastic attraction for all the family.
The history of the fairground and the bonus of being able to ride on some vintage ones. Very reasonably priced and the volunteers do a great job. Will definitely go again if we are in the area soon
E. T.
Love this place. You have to be patient for rides when busy as limited volunteers running the rides but all the staff are attentive and lovely. A lovely fun day out for all ages. Really reasonably priced with the annual ticket. Thank you again.
S. H.
Great day out, my daughter aged 9 loves it. Lots to do and see, it's a charity run by mostly volunteers, so some things still need fixing and you need to ask to go on some games and wait a while but definitely worth it! Great history and lots of information, unique day out for the whole family!
K. B.
Would like to see some outside play equipment just to keep the kids amused when on a tea break (would make 5☆). Otherwise we had a fantastic day. Printing with Alice, face painting with the queen, balloon modeling white rabbit, and a very well acted mad hatter. Kids 2,2,&6 loved the day (us adults did too, especially penny games)
J. s.
Fantastic family time something for the smallest of children to the biggest really enjoyable day great value for money
J. J.
Excellent working collection of classic fairground rides we all grew up with. The ghost train was particularly good and to have a proper run on the dodgems was aldo worth it. Don't forget to check out the really early stuff too. Fascinating to see how it all started and the showmens caravans are beautiful. I like the way the ticket allows you to come back any day in 12 months. Well worth a visit
A. M.
This place is a great walk down memory lane and has entertained the kids for a few hours. Definitely more of a couple of hours than a whole day, else it may break your bank balance. You pay for entry for the heritage centre and then have to pay for rides/games in addition by purchasing tokens. Would advice to book 24hrs online before arriving as you get extra tokens. Food was ok but wouldn't do it again as quality a little lacking and very long wait. Would definitely go back again as kids loved it and so did my inner child. 👍🏻
P. R.
Fantastic! Good mix of history, and rides & entertainment. Rides are well cheap. You pay and entrance fee and the you buy tokens for the rides, which cost 50p, (or 38p if you buy 10 with your entrance fee). Most rides cost 2 tokens, which means the dodgems cost just 76p!
The best and fastest dodgems I have ever been on!
C. E.
Went here for my daughter's birthday (non party) and we all had a blast. The museum section is well presented and has lots of interesting old fairground rides and transport. The ridable rides were in a separate section but we're impressive to see in operation following their restoration. You pay for entry and buy tokens to go on each ride. We had 40 tokens and that got us on everything once and a few others multiple times. Additional tokens are 50p each which is an acceptable price in my opinion. There's a cafe on site as well as a few vending machines. The staff were all friendly and were dressed up on the day we went there which the kids enjoyed. Highly recommended!!!
A.
This is very much a local attraction that I would consider worth a 20-30 minute drive; sadly it wasn't worth the 4 hour round-trip we did purely based on the 4.8 Google rating. The attraction consumes about an hour to experience everything. The first part of the walkthrough is pretty much all currency coins - tokens are useless. The second part which is the 'working' fairground was quite deserted. We walked around the few stalls and rides (some height restricted to children) almost entirely before someone said "hello" and we realised there were staff there; 2 in fact. I guess we were supposed to go and get someone if we wanted to have a go at any of the stalls or rides. We didn't realise and by the time we'd completely walked round with no stalls and only 1 ride manned, we were ready to leave. The historical value is certain and interesting, but not as glamorous or captivating as the website suggests. We bought 45 tokens and two Saver tickets (10 tokens each included) and left without using a single one.
M. 6.
What an experience..it took me back in time to the 50's 60's 70's and to Tavistock Goosey Fair... I took my two of my boys and they agreed with me that it was the "best day out". The staff are very helpful, friendly and have a sense of humour. I was amazed how the boys responded to the attractions, they are 16 and 12 yrs old and are more used to more modern rides and machines, they didn't stop laughing all day (5hrs), the dodgems were the favourite of course and most of the time was spent on them. The best thing is it is undercover, except were one goes from build to building, so no mud or rain to contend with, the music sound level was perfect, loud enough to hear but not so obtrusive you couldn't talk, everything worked as it should and the rides were long, cheap with no fear of being ripped off as purchased tokens are the method of payment for the rides and stalls, so you have proper control on what you spend. Talking of expenses, it is all very reasonably priced, we didn't use the cafe as we took a picnic but from what we heard the food was good and reasonably priced as well there is a picnic area which is very pleasant. Wish we had visited it sooner. Thank you to everyone there for making it the "Best Day Out". Keep up the good work.
R. E.
Brought from Groupon. Wasn't expecting much but had so much fun.... so did the kids! We spent a good few hours here. Took owe food but brought food looked lovely, sandwiches were huge. Very friendly staff. We really had a nice time here. Would definitely go again.
A. R.
Maybe not the best time of year to go,but it was my son's 11th birthday and he loves fairground rides. Some of the penny slot machines were not working and jammed, the cafe is expensive. Would give the place 6 out of 10. Staff friendly and helpful. Gift shop disappointing.
C. H.
Brilliant place so nostalgic, we had lots of fun and the men running the rides were so kind and amusing. I have mobility problems and use a stick but I was determined to go on something. I opted for merrygo round which I think we're like motor bikes and but looked like horses. Getting me on and off was a scream and the men doing the ride were brilliant, laughing at my face when they speeded it up. Then I went on the ghost train that was so funny not as scary as I remember but that must be over 60yrs ago then again the men were so kind as I couldn't get out of the car.i It was great fun and the cream teas were wonderful. Just a little suggestion the shop was not offering a good selection of goods a bit more variety please. Well worth a visit.
R.
In the middle of nowhere! I can only assume that the more revenue this place receives, the better it will become. It was good to see some of these old fairground rides working and in use. Good use of circus acts teaching children the ropes. All in all a very good day out
J. W.
Absolutely fabulous. The rides were great and very reasonably priced. Two tokens(£1) for most rides. People were friendly and informative. Forgot how fast the old rides were. Definitely go again. Try and stop me.
R. B.
Fairgrounds as they were, great staff very helpful and polite highly recommended great day out.

We won a Freebie Friday giveaway on Facebook a few months back and spent a wonderful afternoon here at Dingles. We had been before but it doesn't matter if it's your first time or millionth time; it's fun, enjoyable and you can get a whole afternoon out of being here and the full day if they have something going on (such as the circus acts in the big barn like last time we attended - my son and I got very competitive learning to spin plates) There's ample parking, good facilities and plenty interesting to do. The entry prices (which includes 10 tokens for the rides inside) is very reasonable too. Take your time to enjoy the fairground history on display to help truly appreciate the vintage rides you are about to experience with your friends and family. They currently have a WW1 exhibition of the 100th anniversary of the end of the great war running until the end of August. Dingles is suitable for all ages, but do not allow pets other than service/guide pets. It's also all weather friendly (but take a jumper if it's cold out) We can't wait to visit again.

A great place to go for anyone from toddlers to the elderly. A great museum as well as some superb rides. The only thing I would have to say is that it is a little dusty, although it is a vintage fairground centre, so what can you expect?
G. W.
We visited Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre in late May, and had a really enjoyable experience, in fact my wife and I agreed that it was the highlight of our two and a half weeks in Devon and Cornwall.
It was fairly quiet while we were there and yet the staff made sure that whichever ride we wanted to try was manned and working. they were very knowledgeable, and very interesting to talk to.
I fear some visitors may forget that this is a heritage centre, so more of a museum than a commercial tourist attraction, but in our view, all the better for that. They are not chasing every penny, but are prepared to give the visitors the time to enhance their experience.
A GREAT VISIT!
We will definitely visit again when in the area!!
M. P.
Good but expensive for what they have. Not much to keep you busy for more than a couple hours. £36 for a discount family ticket inclusive of some free ride tokens ( token value 50p, most rides 2 tokens, some 3). Food NOT good and again expensive. Overall worth a visit, but don't expect your stay to fill whole day.
R. J.
Brilliant exibits and well helpful staff.
M. C.
If you're looking for Thorpe park this ain't for you but if you like the history of the travelling fairground & old rides it is amazing. The best dodgems I have ever been on. Ghost Train is a blast from the past & a giggle. Staff friendly but when busy could do with a few more. Lovely day spent there.
W. S.
A little bit of a gem this one, will suit young and old alike if maybe not the thrill seeking teenagers, its got some great rides all done with tokens which is a good way of doing things, great helpful and friendly staff, lovely café. (Top tip. Don't mix your tokens up with your 2p's like I did and put them in the slots!!)
K. H.
Fun day out every visit
G. P.
Amazing place for all ages.
Good access for wheel chairs and Buggies
Friendly staff
Cafe serves nice homemade cakes.
A good place for when the weather is wet.
1 thing missing is a play park in the picnic area.
J. S.
Great place to visit, especially if you enjoy the funfair
A. B.
What a place. Great for families. Staff polite and very helpful. Vintage fairground rides and old arcade machines. Had a great time and definitely worth the money. Would recommend this place for a family day out.
M. E.
Really nice to see the old fairground rides and stalls and a really good tea room (fantastic cream tea).
The only let down for us was in the section where you could use the tokens we paid for to go on the rides and play the stalls. The attendants (ok, they are volunteers) were totally unresponsive when we wanted to go on a ride or play on a stall, after waiting by a stall for over 10 minutes (as instructed by the signs) we still didn't get the attention of the girl that seemed so engrossed in her phone, so we left. With all of the tokens we had paid for, unused.
We do have free entry again within the next year (included in the entrance fee), so hopefully we will be able to use the tokens when we come back 🙂
A. D. (.
Nicely laid out, incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating staff, great atmosphere. So many smiling happy faces, great experience and all under cover, kids had a blast. Didn't try the food but it smelled delicious!
M. C.
A good trip out, would be even better with a few further additions e.g. strong man hammer game, hoopla etc. Really liked the parachute decoration. Cafe offers a good range. Staff all friendly and attentive. Toilets could do with a lick of paint. Great that it's all undercover too 🙂.
M. B.
We spent a good few hours here with my parents and my children 8 and 13 - something for everyone including - carousel, dodgems, ghost train, rocket ride & . Reasonable value for money although only really 5 main rides plus smaller side shows and heritage displays but this a not for profit attraction so great money gioes back into conserving rides & wagons etc. Small cafe and coffee area.
j. o.
The best in-door fun fair ever
All old fashioned rides plenty to do plenty to see if Ur ever in Devon u need to go
If you buy the tickets for the day u can gift aid & get a years free to come back. the rides operate on Tokens which u can buy when u purchase Ur entrance. Tokens are worth 50pence each check it out online & give it a visit.
U will like it
j. k.
We went hear as a family during the half term break LO loved with with loads of rides to go on and lots of entertainment for her. It was princess and pirates theme with the staff all dressed up and very friendly. Lots for the adults to read and enjoy the rids too. Great place to go. We will defferently be Goin again
😁
J. B.
The best value attraction I've visited in Devon and Cornwall. You get plenty of tokens for the rides (all brilliant), as well as free entry for a year. I've made a few return trips, with various visitors, with all reminiscing about their childhoods from various eras, from the 1940's, to the 1990's. There's something for everyone, even those who would usually avoid 'fast' rides.
Beyond the rides, the shed full of travelling fairground vehicles is an eerie space, just as I like it! Lots of old carriages and painted cabins.
Staff are great, good parking, well signposted, disabled access too.
P. T.
Really great place, but this trip found they'd put up the tokin cost on the small kids rides to the same as the big rides. So small lady bug ride is £1.50 worth of tokins same as rocket ride. Feel they need a lower tokin cost for all the small ones.
Dodgem cars and big rides are awesome though.
G. F.
Brilliant, we had a fab time and our 3 year old loved it ...a great break on the way to Cornwall. Staff are great and the cafe has fabulous food. The entrance ticket lasts a year and we gift aided. Thank you for a great time.
W. S.
Always a great place to spend a few hours with the kids, plenty to do for the kids & adults :)
Y. M.
Very good for day out, especially for children. Wonderful old fairground rides from long ago. Time tunnel interesting to read all about fairs from beginning to present day. Admiddance fee plus you have to buy tokens for the rides.old fruit machines too, penny arcade.
Tea room expensive. Great fun if its a rainy day, all under cover.
B. M.
Good value for money, especially if you buy the saver tickets and gift aid the entry fee as you get unlimited returns for a full twelve months. Great place for all ages. Friendly and helpful staff. A good day out in Glorious Devon
E. L.
It's ok but not somewhere I'd go again, after the kids had spent all their tokens they were happy to leave. The museum part was lovely seeing all the old rides.
N. F.
Another lovely visit to Dingles. We all really enjoy it here, the rides are great fun, the staff are wonderful with the children, friendly and passionate about the place. Just a thoroughly fabulous place to be. We'll be back in the Spring 💗
L. H.
Dingles is a FANTASTIC day out - awesome museum section, a vast collection of fairground antiques, and a fully functional indoor fairground! They're doubling the size of it at the moment so they can get the rides they don't have space for out of storage. Dingles is AWESOME
S. R.
Very nostalgic from my Butlins Clacton day's as a kid.
L. R.
Lovely place for a visit, with or without children. The old fairground rides make for a really enjoyable time. Staff are very knowledgeable and really friendly. Slightly let down by the inefficiency of the café today with a 40 minute wait for tea and cake. However, don't be put off!
M. R.
This is a museum of old fairground rides that you can ride on. Good to walk round and dream of being small again. When I was there there were no ques but only a couple people who were trained to run the rides. Only problem is it's quite expensive to get then they charge you to go on the rides. This is no modern theme park
A. W.
Really good fun place for all the family to enjoy the ride that your Grandparents used to ride on, fantastic value, very friendly happy staff, buy a snack, enjoy Tea, Coffee or an Ice Cream. Bring your own picnic and enjoy a really great day out
D. P.
It was under cover which was great considering the weather. The staff were lovely and made sure the girls had a great time. The car park was awfully muddy!!!! We nearly didn't manage to park.
T. B.
Fantastic place, somewhere different to take the kids. Heritage centre & Museum crossed with a fair ground. Old fashioned rides for the kids & adults too on, along with old fashion arcade with 2p machines. Family really enjoyed the day out their. Would visit again.
U. C.
Great value, not my first visit, love the interactive exhibits (fairground rides!) Slightly out of the way location but easy to find when you have been before.
Recommended many times over.
D. B.
Give this place a visit you will love it.
J. H.
Absolutely amazing great fun for all the family. Get ready to be transported back in time with the rides here. The staffs knowledge is very good and they are happy to help
a. p.
Called in on the way home from Cornwall and loved it some really nice vintage fair ground rides and you can return free for the whole year will definitely go again in August when I'm down that way again
A. B.
Great place for a rainy day out. All in doors and very nostalgic.
All the history behind fairground history.
Working rides that take you back in time.
First went in 2015 and again this year, we always leave with a smile.
Well done guy's!
Fantastic!!!
D. B.
Great to see all the old school rides takes me back a bit! But not to the forties ha. Kids loved it would be nice if there was some kind of steam engines running though.
Y. B.
Great to see all the old rides and old stories of the past
L. P.
Really enjoyable afternoon out. Both grand daughter and in laws enjoyed hall of mirrors and the 1p/2p arcade. History detail was fascinating. Lovely cafe.
d. j.
Great place really enjoyed it kids loved it
L. C.
A brilliant place for families of all ages. Lots of reminiscing, fun attractions from years gone by.
Cafe with lovely homemade food. Friendly, helpful staff. Opens only at weekends from this weekend onwards.
C. W.
Gem of a place this, childhood memories relived under cover and out of the rain. Helpful friendly staff, loads of living history and rides that will thrill young and old... Definitely worth a visit!
F. M.
What an amazing place! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We gift aided entry and can return for free for a year. We will definitely be coming back. Food good and not overpriced. See you soon
M. A.
Really enjoyed today, lots to do, very friendly staff and the rides are brilliant. It is a really unique place. Will go again.
A. B.
Wow, wow, wow!
If you love vintage fairground like we do, this is the place for you......
Our teenage son loves studying the paintwork on these magical rides, he spent hours on the rides and learning more of the history. The fact that Dingles has the only examples of some of these rides in existence is amazing!
You can buy some fairground books there too.....
We saw a long standing member of the team and he spoke about the rides, we also spoke at the GDSF.
He has fantastic knowledge. And encouraged my son in the passion he has with the artwork.
Thank you, we will be back soon!
J. T.
Great place even if you go for a couple of hours. Free balloon modelling and face paint. Kids really enjoy here done a Groupon deal. Will b doing the full price next time so we can visit again and again for a whole year
R. G.
Its a great place to see all the old fairground rides and arcade games, there are quite a few rides and stalls you can go on, the cafe is good with very nice food and drinks, the only thing I would say is the price of the rides could be a bit cheaper so you could go on more 👍
L. W.
Good but not really a full day out and becomes very expensive as you have to pay to get in and then have to pay for tokens for everything once you are in. Not enough staff so sometimes quite a wait for rides.
Not somewhere I would return
K. D. (.
This is an amazing place! There are many amazing fairground related items. Coaches models of rides and a very nice fairground organ being some. The staff are very friendly and have a passion for the place. It is great seeing the past preserved and seeing what our Grandparents did! This place has many amazingly restored rides with beautiful art. There is Bretts ghost train built in the 1940s, Edwards dogems from the 1930s, Edwards supersonic skid from the 1930s which was one of my favourites, One of the oldest thr rodeo switchback built 1880, Edwards super chariot racer built in the 1930s and the latest addition which wasnt there when I went Lings moonrocket which is quite rare and would love to go again just to see that. The artwork on all of these are fantastic. I also bought in the gift shop a model of a Burrell showmans engine! This place is amazing it takes rides that have been ruined and weathered from years of use fixes them up again and allows us to ride on them. They dont make them like they used to! This place hands down is 5 stars great staff and great place very intresting and enjoyable!
T. W.
A great place to visit with children or anyone who remembers fair grounds as they once were with the old 'penny slot machines etc. Also has a good museum of old fair ground rides and' gypsy ' caravans, some very ornate and beautifully furnished. This is actually a charity and I would recommend a visit.
V. P.
Took Mum and Dad for afternoon and mum and I went on Ghost train and the Carousel there were lots of rides to choose from very good trip down memory lane , who doesn't love a fairground XXX Fabulous bonus we won 2 x coconuts 😍
A. H.
Excellent place. Nostalgic rides and great fun. Very friendly staff, great food and fairly priced in the restaurant. Clean and tidy everywhere.
Well worth a visit.
B. S.
Really good to take kids for a day out. Amazing food served at the restaurant, although the wait can be long. Nice way showing historic things but still making it fun for kids.
R. a. S. P.
Brilliant day out for young and old . Old fashioned dodgems are a must . The cafe is superb too . The cakes are a diabetics nightmare ! We've been coming to dingles for years and will be back again next year .
g. h.
Absolutely brilliant, a hidden treasure. The exhibits are superb and great fun to ride on. The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. We'll be back.
N. E.
Amazing place! The rides are amazing and have so much history. The people who work there are extremely nice and enjoy what they do.
S. S.
An indoor area with traditional/retro style arcade machines. Although it is nice to visit many of the machines did not except new £1 coins or the change machines did not except any newer style notes. The irony is the change machine that spits out £1 coins are all the newer style so when I changed a £20 note I then had 20 unusable coins. Entry is normally quite expensive, considering the use of machines are also expensive I would recommend remortgaging your house before arriving. The place would see alot more custom if it did not charge entry or they lowered the price to use the machine. There is plenty of other great places in Devon at a fraction of the cost.
A. F.
A really good day out. A great atmosphere and something to bring the child out in all of us. A great family friendly all weather attraction at a family friendly price. If you pre book on line you save on the ticket price.
N. J.
Well worth a visit. I'd driven past this place so many times but this was the first time I went in. Loads of old working rides and old penny-arcade machines. I will definitely be back.
C. A.
Great place to visit. We enjoyed the bumper cars especially as there was only us two on it. Would be going there late this year again but earlier so we have more time to read the history of fairgrounds. GO and Enjoy.
J. L.
Incredible history and engineering of pre-war fairground rides a d attractions. Fun for the whe family and an amazing view of the awe-inspiring workmanship that went into these rides that still operate today.
C. B.
It's different......like going back in time......50 yrs for me!! The entry price is cheaper than say Woodlands or Trethorne BUT......here's the rub!! You get 10 tokens but most rides are 2 or 3 tokens. Then you have to buy 50p tokens. So at the end of the day it works out about the same price. However, you can spend all day at Woodlands and Trethorne.......and the kids can make their own fun. Here once the gravy train of money from the Bank of Mum and Dad runs out there isn't a lot to entertain them. Worth a visit for novelty...especially the grandparents....but don't bank on staying for a whole day....
B. C.
Good place if the weather is wet.brings back memories.old fair groups could have more rides, kept the grandchildren happy all the time we were there.three or four hours.fun.Will go back in the summer
s. c.
Grandson absolutely loved it.
L. T.
We love Dingles. The staff are lovely, especially the old guys who run the rides. Most fun if you go on a quiet day and have the whole place to yourself!
m. d.
Excellent place to go, fun for all the family, friendly staff, well worth the money, gift aid which costs no extra gives you free admission for a year, extra tokens are only 50p each, brilliant place enjoyed every minute!!
D. L.
Fantastic and great experience of some truly historic rides! Spent a few hours here and could easily spend a few more hours there. 👍
L. A.
A few more rides and better organised this time its a charity and well worgh the visit. Saving this stuff is brilliant! The caravans are incredible to see.
C. G.
Fantastic visit. Really unusual day out, interesting heritage and rides to keep the kids entertained too. Will definitely be back
J. H.
Amazing heritage (mostly 1930's) working fairground rides. Very nostalgic to actually be able to go on them. The modern rides could learn a thing or too!
B. H.
Amazing place, lovely friendly staff and a very reasonable day out. Lots to do and look at, would definately recommend especially if you're after something a bit different. 5*
s. e. p.
Well worth a visit! Friendly staff, excellent cafe with lovely food. Traditional fun fair rides really good fun
A. G.
Kids loved it but it is small and only good for a few hours. We went in winter though so perhaps there is more to do in summer.
D. B.
We love this place. Ye olde fairground attractions and its inside too which is great if the weather isn't brilliant. Again, the sort of place you're better getting to early for parking.
J. S.
Great fun for adults and the kids. Fun rides suitable for all ages. Something for all ages. Does good coffee and excellent children's meal in a bag.
c. M.
For a Autumn day not to bad. Was expecting to be there longer that 2 hours. And this included something to eat. Food pricey. Would be nice to see what is in the shed for restoration.
D. S.
Absolutely brilliant. Had a fantastic day!
C. S.
Great machines and rides, however the old penny slots could do with being fixed as quite a few don't work or don't pay out if you win.
S. M.
Had a lovely time, kids loved it too, took me back to bygone days, great exhibition and History. Dodgems, Rocket and Stalls are great fun, well worth a vist
T. W.
This is a must for old codgers who remember steam and fairground rides but kids of all ages live it too. Amazing quality day out. Should be compulsory.
H. M.
Kids loved it here. And a great place in the rain. Lovely friendly staff. Tokens soon add up though with 4 of you.
H. D.
Brilliant day at dingles fairground
R. M.
Such a good idea of a day out for kids and adult alike rides are old fashioned and fun thoroughly enjoyed my rainy day out here.
c.
Excellent for both adults and children. I enjoyed the heavy machinery, my boys enjoyed the rides. Friendly staff and a good cafe!
j. m.
Went to see the steam engines but didn't realise after the passage of time they've got rid of them all and it's pure fairground memorabelia1 My fauls but, a great place to spend time with the kids with all those rides.
E. N.
Loved it! It's great for a rainy day, and not to expensive as long as you don't go crazy on the rides
s. a.
Looking for something to do on holiday found information about this and we were unsure about the price of entry. Believe me it was worth it. Fabulous day out. Staff very friendly and helpful.
S. N.
This place is well worth the visit time and time again. Very friendly staff. Great for all weather. Looking forward to the next time
S. S.
Fantastic. So much fun. Nice lunch too!! Staff very friendly. Highly recommend.
P. H.
A very clever idea. Went on rides I haven't been on since the 60s (still screamed on one), great day out for the whole family.
D. G.
Had a great time here with the grandchildren. Perfect entertainment, especially on a rainy day as it is all under cover. Will return.
F. G.
Great fun for children, lots of activities and doesn't break the bank. Worth saving your 2p coins before you come though!
M. P.
Great little fair ground using rides from days gone by. If you want a little bit of history on fair rides and play some old 2p machines you will enjoy it.
R. W.
Hidden gem. 7 and 11 year old boys loved it. Friendly staff and you don't mind paying a bit more for extra tokens
P. N.
Very noisy where rides take place. If you like old style fairgrounds this is the place to go. Ideal to visit on rainy day as it is all undercover.
W. K.
Some thing for everyone. As fairgrounds use to be
L. A.
Fantastic work at restoring and cataloguing the fairground through the ages, reasonable value for money considering a proportion of it goes to the charity but was very understaffed for the height of the summer holidays so lots of queueing and long waits for drinks in cafe
R. M.
Awesome blast of history, vibrant colour and fun. Well worth a visit. The cafe is great to.
f.
Amazing place to have a few hours out
J. C.
Great day out for those who like the history of fairground rides. A quiet place but lots to do for the whole family.

D. G.
I attended a private event and it was great fun to ride on traditonal fairground rides and see some of the historical displays. They have a restaurant and bar area as well.

J. C.
Very good place to visit, good for the kids to try out all the old rides and arcade machines.
S. W.
Absolute hidden gem. They have a large collection of antique fairground rides dating back as far as the 1930s, most of which are in working order and can be ridden. Highlights include the Moonrocket from 1939 (surprisingly terrifying) and a Ghost Train from 1940.
N. T.
If you have memories of fairgrounds of the 60s and 70s, this place is magical. An interesting and entertaining museum with working classics, anyhow.

Nice day out, esp in less favourable weather. A work in progress so not the finished article yet. Fantastic attitude from all the staff.

This is very much a local attraction that I would consider worth a 20-30 minute drive; sadly it wasn't worth the 4 hour round-trip we did purely based on the 4.8 Google rating. The attraction consumes about an hour to experience everything. …
