Actually a great visit. Loads of cool things and history, tons of anecdotes.
Really increases your knowledge and awareness of witch history.
Decent price (£7 adults and £5 children).
Really varied items and lots of different types of witches documented.
Really nicely laid out displays and some beautiful artwork too.
I. B.
A fascinating collection beautifully presented and in a great location. The ladies at reception were welcoming and super friendly. Parking is available close by and reasonably priced. The topic of witchcraft is much maligned mostly due to historical reasons and how Christians have been brainwashed to consider it evil or bad. Visit with an open mind and you will have a great time.

We both absolutely loved the experience of the Museum of Witchcraft and magic! Small but perfectly formed and full of the most interesting artifacts and stories you could wish for. If you're just curious or a full blown wiccan this will satisfy. Fantastic collection of ritualistic artifacts from across the globe and the place also smells amazing! You can buy the incense at the end and it's even made by witches! Highly recommended, make sure you book in advance and have a cup of coffee in the little cafe in front of it by the harbour.

Fantastic visit to the museum of witchcraft and magic, full of interesting history and background into not only local witchcraft but examples from all over the UK. Some amazing items on display and some gruesome ones too, doesn't hurt that it's in Boscastle, a lovely little village. Well worth the couple of hours it'll take to go around this brilliant little museum.
S.
Wonderful small museum with thousands and things to see. No for those who expect cartoon craft but an actual good honest look at historical and current beliefs. It was treasure trove of curiosities. From poppets to pentagrams there is plenty to explore.
Not exactly child friendly unless you are willing to talk frankly about the topic.
Highly recommend for a hour or so

A quirky little museum in a picturesque, quiet valley village.
Entry only £7 for adults. We went on a weekday and whilst it wasn’t queuing out the door, it was quiet busy so you felt pressure to read quickly!
They have some very interesting items on display and some great stories and myth busters around witchcraft. Sometimes there was so much to look at one cabinet, I wasn’t really sure what I was looking at!
On the whole a great museum and a must-do if you’re in the area.
Note: doesn’t take dogs and you’ll need to park further up The Valley but it’s a very short and pretty 5 minute walk to the museum

Absolutely love this place. This is our 4th visit over many years. Our last visit was exactly a week before the devastating floods.
Love how the exhibits change. The external garden and entrance is so pretty.
We pre booked timed tickets. All very simple and easy. Would happily visit again.

Somewhat interesting for the average tourist, and a must for people into esoteric stuff. The building is relatively small, with thin corridors, and the exhibition is one-way only; this impairs a visitor's ability to absorb all the available information, as you will often feel implicitly pressured to move forwards in order not to disrupt the flow. This is especially true in the final third of the exhibition.
My suggestion: book your tickets online and get in as soon as it opens.
The Baphomet/Devil/Horned God corner was my favourite part, and I was surprised to see hardly any information on crystals/gemstones.
A shame I didn't have any coins the tarot readings machine would have accepted...
P. R.
Great little museum with many different aspects of witch craft and magic covered. Learnt things I never knew. Well worth the visit. Not hurried at all but oddly everyone visiting talked in whispers.
J.
Quite entertaining! Tells you lots of different things like methods of killing, spells, curses ect. It's a good experience! It costs £5 for a child to enter. It isn't dog friendly, and sadly there isn't a gift shop. Overall it's quite good!

Amazing museum in an adorable cottage.
Well worth a visit at only £7 for adult.
There are over 3000 objects to look at so allow a good hour and a half for a proper look. So many interesting objects from hundreds of years ago which were really used in witchcraft. They have a cool cottage room set up and a lovely peaceful spiritual shrine to make a prayer to the spirits at.
Some really amazing things, lots of information to read and covers so many parts of witchcraft and magic.
and the staff are lovely. The lady at the ticket till was so friendly and kind. It was busy and is a small museum but it didnt matter so much. LOVE IT
P. R.
Absolutely great! Really good information about the artefacts, lots of different things to look at. Really interesting and sets the atmosphere. Lovely staff and cool gift shop too!
R. A.
When we visited, you could walk in and buy tickets. £7 for an adult and £5 for a child. Was a great little museum with 2 exhibits and had a little witches cottage inside. Loads and loads of artifacts and witchy things with description. Loads of information and overall learnt quite a lot! Alot of effort has been put into this museum and I'm glad I attended.
T. W.
A compact museum dedicated to witch craft. A lot of exhibits to see. Ideal for people who have a great interest in witch craft.

A great wealth of information in the beautiful town of Boscastle. My whole family enjoyed it...I particularly enjoyed the old fashioned functioning fortune predicting machine...I got the devil!
T. P.
I came here with my dad while on holiday in Devon and it turned into our favourite day out together, not only is boscastle stunning this museum makes it a day you won't forget. Theres plenty of parking in the town centre and the museum is a small walk down the river. There's loads of amazing and different artifacts to look at and loads to read about, it's extremely informative and really opens your eyes to the world of witchcraft. You can look round at your own leisure so take your time to take in all of that information and take plenty of pictures to show your friends. This place is absolutely worth the visit and I think I can speak for my dad as well when I say this but we will absolutely be back!
J. A.
Really interesting place. Particularly enjoyed the artefacts and the stories behind them. Covers quite a lot about the history and methods of magick.
However, paying seems a bit unreasonable as it’s quite small really.
I. W.
Fantastic little gem ! I loved everything about this museum, we were welcomed by a very lovely lady, extremely friendly who explained how to move around the museum and that it is bigger than expected. The museum is set out on two floors with plenty of artifacts and information, a pleasant mixture of old and new with all types of magic and Witchcraft, a great interactive cottage scene. You could easily spend hours here ! And I almost did i will definitely return because I'm sure I missed something ! And I will book an earlier slot to make sure I don't miss anything the second time round :) !
Covid secure, masks are compulsory as it is a enclosed area, the museum operates a one way system and tickets need to be pre-booked, guests are let in slowly to ensure social distancing is possible.
A. D.
Amazing and very unique experience! Highly recommend as the staff were very kind and the attraction was fascinating and perfect for any lover of the supernatural, witchy, and beautiful displays.
L. P.
Hadn't pre booked our visit but was told to go back at 12 and if able would be able to go in. Went for a walk when the lovely Hanna came and found us saying we could visit now. We had a wonderful time looking at all the amazing displays. Good place to visit if your knowledgeable about the craft or not and worth going regularly as displays change each year. Lovely section on Doreen Valiente who we like to refer to as Auntie and other well known practioneers of the craft. Would recommend a visit
T. R.
Amazing place to visit. Loved it.. took my daughter here for her birthday after going myself as a child. She loved it as much as i did.
D. P.
What, at first glance, seems to be an unassuming cottage tucked into a coastal valley is actually home to an incredible collection of magical artifacts.
From herbs, to which trials, to the devil himself, the museum houses an enchanting exhibition of tools, history, and flavour that makes magic feel real.
The pieces are well arranged and equally well explained so that even the tiny humans can have a good time here. I would throughly recommend this place as a must see.
K. H.
Lovely quirky visit! Well worth the visit. The surrounding town is a beautiful place for a walk and visit to a cafe/pub and shops.
s. a.
Really enjoyed it here there is so much information and I honestly couple of stayed here for hours, highly recommended ❤️.
A. H.
Boscastle is a lovely area and have beautiful walkways and lovely authentic shops, little hidden gems. The museum is good to go round but was very packed and unless you read super quick you'll miss bits out, still worth a visit.
S. W.
An interesting visit, although I has expected more if a local theme. Staff very friendly. Enjoyed the mock up of the cottage with recording of the wise woman advising on love etc!
S. M.
Absolutely loved it. Visited on a Saturday and got in straight away - didn't have to queue. Loved the exhibits, so much interesting stuff and amazing artwork on display. Staff were super friendly, too. If you've an interest in this kind of thing, it's a must see!
C. “. G. B.
My fiancé and I had the most wonderful experience in here on Oct 1st.
We booked online and arrived a little early.
There is SO much to look at and read in here! From the history of witches and Witchcraft, to the persecution and punishment and also the variations of Witchcraft around the globe!
Well worth a visit if you're into history and/or the occult.
P.
One of the best small museums we have been too and it's well worth a visit..really interesting and a credit to the team who looks after the collection..if you're in North Cornwall this is a must visit..
T. A.
Like my stars suggest, its OK. Pricey entrance fee, for a family of 4. We came here to speficially visit the museum. Its interesting if you are into witches and like the idea of witchcraft.
C. H.
Fantastic museum packed with lots of fascinating information to read! Staff are lovely and welcoming too.
M. F.
Visited here today with my mother, partner and daughter.
Pre book your timeslot. Awesome.
We arrived and were met by a lovely lady at the front. So welcoming and pleasant.
What a brilliant place. Could have spent all day in here looking at all the wonderful items in the exhibit.
So much to see and what amazing history.
I was also VERY surprised with the gift shop. Due to covid you pick your number, go to the entrance desk and they sort it out for you. Exceptional covid measure.
BUT the price. The prices are brilliant. I've been places where you're charged £5 for a pencil, £10 for a magnet etc. Not here. The prices are on point and in all honesty I feel they could go higher and people wouldn't complain.
Will definitely be returning!
S. C.
Fascinating place, in a beautiful setting. Great opportunity to learn about the history of witchcraft and magic, and the town. Staff were super friendly, and helpful. I purchased a ticket in advance and was glad I did as there was a small queue outside, and was not something I wanted to miss.
J. H.
Great museum, lots galleries covering all sort of unique and interesting pieces of magical and witchy history.
We spent around 2 hours inside, but could have happily spent longer.
The staff arr really friendly and welcoming and the location is brilliant.
I cant wait to return.
K. S.
Really informative , I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the lives of those persecuted. Saw amazing creations and there were some terrifying stories. All in all worth the money and it's a good way to spend an hour. I bought a gift from the shop I cant wait to use.
R. S.
Very interesting and had some really good exhibits but was a bit disjointed and some of the pieces seemed to be an odd fit eg Donald Trump voodoo doll. If you have an interest in the occult it is worth a visit
T. S.
Fascinating place and well worth a visit, slightly less than young child friendly. Staff were fantastic. Incredible location and a walk around the village of Boscastle, the harbour and nearby Coastpath is a must. All in all a great day out.
J. W.
A lovely independent museum which has a well preserved collection of magical artefacts. Worth a visit if you go to Boscastle. I would recommend someone looks after little children as the ticket price does not factor in that children with race through without allowing the adults to properly read and appreciate the exhibits. Older children may take more pleasure in the museum especially if they are interested in the myths and legends.
C. W.
One of the best museums I've been to, hands down!
Boscastle is beautiful anyway, but this great little stop is incredibly worth it. So much information that you can spend 2 hours easy just reading all the plaques and fascinating history of witchcraft and its many veins of influence (I know I did).
Very well put together with so many interesting items on display. I like how the museum is very neutral with how it showcases witchcraft and the occult etc. It just gives you the facts and idealogies throughout history regarding it, but with enough passion for the subject that it's put together with care and respect.
Just to point out, it's a very humble museum with the path around or being quite tight in space, so this may pose a problem for some folk.
S. T.
What a fabulous and interesting experience. This museum is jam packed with unique artifacts and items. The lady on the front desk was very welcoming and informative. I would love to come back again!
M. W.
A small but interesting museum. Full of facts and exhibits.
Y. M.
Very beautiful place, I went last Thursday , despite the weather that was foggy, the views are amazing and breathtaking. To get there £7 will be requested to park the car which is fair, however, they charge from £9.95 to get a picture in the famous Land's End post, at least could be a lower amount, it's just a post.
L. J.
Fabulous place, full of interesting items and information. We'll laid out. Clean. Quite small so a bit crowded at times but still managed to see everything. Good price.
S. R.
My second visit in 3 years, loved it both times. The displays are amazing and there seemed to be more choice of goodies to spend $ on
g. a.
Wasn’t as big as when I was a kid 20 urs ago took my daughter to make memories all in one building now most got washed away in floods was still good thou interesting small shop at the end selling witch items
E. L.
It is a short visit but fun if you're in to a little bit of witchy stuff, other reviews say it's full of tat but that's kind of what you expect from a little place like this if you have no real prior interest. I enjoyed it on my day visiting the boscastle area
A. V.
Amazing collection of artefacts and stories. I was captivated and spent a lot of time reading all the captions and stories throughout the exhibition. Usually at a museum it’s easy to skip past some descriptions and notes, but this place has so many curiosities, you can’t help but stop and read about them all.
At the time of the visit the museum was going through some repairs, however they were happy to open up and let us in with a warm welcome.
L. W.
Hidden gem in Boscastle. Very informative and well laid out museum. Well worth the admission price. £4 for concessions. Adults £5. Next door to the National Trust gift shop, cafe and information center. All down towards the harbour. Very picturesque.
T. C.
Probably our favourite experience visiting the area. Its an amazing mix of Museum and living culture. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a bit lame, but its a fascinating subject and I wish the place was twice as big. The history paganism and witchcraft is as interesting if you're looking at it in BC times as well as the 1970's, right up to the modern day. Varied, fun, and not too scary - saw loads of kids of varying ages there who weren't disturbed by anything. A strange and brilliant array of items.
Town is great too - worth the visit.
S. S.
Great little place to visit , there is lots of great info on all the exhibits ( a lot to read so plan plenty of time to take in everything ) and fascinating stories of local witchcraft.
There are lots of interestingly shaped items and drawings so prepare for awkward questions from the kids.
L. B.
Very informative, a lot of knowledge rammed into a quaint building, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience
D. H.
The best witchcraft museum in the country! Absolutely loads to see and such a great collection.
Well worth a visit
A. S. C.
A huge amount of fascinating stuff too look at in the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic but if I'm honest it perhaps felt too dense. Especially the written boards/plaques of text, there was so much to read! Perhaps if you know a bit about the exhibits already then the extra information would be appreciated but, as someone who really knows nothing about witchcraft, I found it too difficult to sift out the genuinely essential/enlightening information and soon switched to simply looking at the objects and ignoring most of the written info.
At only £5 admission though, I cannot really complain.
W. c.
Pretty cool. Very small, doesn't take many people to make it feel too busy..... some nice items to see and plenty of written info. Worth a look. I will say there are many many rather "adult themed" items on show, it's all very historical but might be a bit awkward with younger children..... see the pics I have added!
J. W.
We've been 5 or 6 times now...we LOVE it here! Always worth a visit, so much to see.
Remember to pre book!
G. A.
Great place, we spent about an hour in there but if you want to read all the information (and there is a lot) you could spend so much longer! So much to see.
J. L.
This little place has been very well thought out. I had a feeling it was going to be tacky but actually i was wrong. The ladies on the front desk were very welcoming and the display cases were full of facts and artifacts. Well worth a visit. There is a pub near by called the cobwebs and this rounds off your visit.
J. F.
Lovely staff positioned at the entrance were very informative and kind. There is still a one way system in place and you still have to book in advance. It's much bigger inside than it looks and if you take the time to read and look at everything you could easily be in there for an hour or two, possibly longer. Loads of cool stuff and a gift shop at the end!
G. M.
Lovely and very interesting museum. The staff are lovely and knowledgeable, make sure you book beforehand to ensure your entry. I will let you visit to see what's inside but the outside is in a picturesque village.
J. T.
Very interesting and informative- if you're into Witches. My daughter (12) had very little interest and was out in 20 minutes.
R. P.
This place is amazing! Brilliant friendly staff and truly fabulous things to see! Great descriptions of all the things to see!
A. T.
I don't know , I guess it all depends if you believe in magick or not :) I love folklore and stories because it keeps me to feel like a kid again so what is wrong with that ? If you came to this little town it's because you probably read that it was warlock and mag who established this village . So it is not that strange that museum of magic exists here . The first thing before you step inside is the well of wishes where you drop the coin and think about your wish . But remember , in magick you cannot wish bad things because it will always come with a price ... Just saying ...
J. B.
Great visit, learnt a bit, really pleasant people working there. Overall a really nice experience :)
G.
Love this museum. Been there many times and it's still incredible. Even if you're not into Witchcraft, it's still interesting to see what it was about in the old days and how much has survived into modern age.
J. C.
Loved it here. Not somewhere you could spend the whole day as quite small, but absolutely fascinating and building itself beautiful too. An absolute must if in Boscastle (we actually travelled 1.5hours to visit, and very happy we did).
D. W.
Maybe, we expected too much? The museum was too static for us. We would have liked to see more moving images or more lively representations.
Even though it really has a lot of utensils to look at, the space for them is too small, as you always only walk a few steps to read the next information board. The result is a traffic jam all the way back to the ticket office, as the museum is quickly overcrowded. So we had to wait about 25 minutes before we could enter.
It was interesting, but I wouldn't go a second time.
F. i. L. V. (.
Nice to visit I felt it was a little pricey for what it was. However it is very interesting to go through. If you like a bit of history mixed in with pagan tradition definitely worth going too.
S. G.
Visited with my son today and we had a fantastic time! The lady on the desk was so friendly and kind to my boy and the museum was fascinating! I’ll definitely be back for another visit!
C. J.
It was an interesting experience with plenty to see, did feel a bit rushed and although we had pre-booked we still had to wait. It was raining when we arrived and the lady who was letting people in gave out umbrellas, this was a nice touch but her customer service was not the best, in fact at times she came across quite rudely. Also once inside its not a big place so we felt a little rushed through as entrance was staggered but people were right behind us meaning if you stopped to read the information plaques they sort of just stood there waiting for you to finish. There wasn't a souvenir shop as such, you have to choose what you want at the very end of the tour and approach the desk with your list. This wasn't really explained so our party missed their opportunity to purchase souvenirs, which was unfortunate. Overall it filled an hour on a rainy afternoon.
j. h.
Quite covid secure with pre booking anr one way system but can get crowed inside at times especially if you want to read all the information. Friendly helpful staff the whole family enjoyed it aged 6-40 years. A definite must see if you like magic, wonder and witch craft
J. R.
I wanted to see this museum 2 years ago, but was with a friend who flatly refused to go there. It is an interesting place, but a bit scary for youngsters I suspect.
S. S.
A bit boring, mostly just pictures. There are some collections of some stuff, only a few things that gripped my attention. I understand the museum is more focused on the reality of witchcraft, but I think more people visit for the mystique.
M. M.
Nice little museum about witchcraft and magic. The inside is quite small but there’s plenty of things to see and read. It is very well made and interesting. I just wished there were some chairs inside to have a rest during your visit.
M. G.
Missed more magical atmosphere!! Music or video tools
D. W.
Very interesting and well displayed items…. Plenty to see …. We’re pleased we visited
M. B.
This place (rightly) gets very busy so it's worth buying a ticket the day before you go so you can pretty much walk in.
Lots to see and read, I can guarantee there is more to witches and witchcraft than you know!
Very friendly staff on the door/shop too.
C. W.
Interesting place, lots of detail about "folk practices", to stave off the evil eye and keep devils out. Some good pieces of artwork, but the final section has a lot of information about 20th century people involved in witchcraft that leave one questioning if they are just cranks. It's a good place to visit, but a lot of reading, so allow a good 90 minutes or more. Definitely worth a visit.
W. A.
Very interesting little museum in a beautiful harbour. Reasonably priced however wouldn't necessarily recommend with very little ones as mine was very quickly bored. Great for adults and older children though.
C. G.
Nice little museum to look round full of weird and wonderful mystical and magical artifacts. A short wait to get in but very interesting once your inside.
E. B.
This museum is so so good and so unique!! I really recommend going if you're interested in this side of history. I found out about this place whilst researching artifacts for a university module, I'm so glad I finally got a chance to go. The village it is in is also beautiful and nice to see
C. M.
Amazing place, full of history and artefacts. 3rd visit and love it but not a great shop. Lovely people and fantastic setting full of atmosphere
J. F.
Interesting little place, I really enjoyed visiting, lots of strange items on display and lots of information so plenty to be learned here. Also really inexpensive so honestly worth a visit!
?.
Very nice place to see. Many exhibits related to the occult and Witchcraft. This place has its own awesome gift shop and Parking places in very convenien dystance. Thank you for great time.
E. M.
Lovely little place, with some gorgeous items. Covid restrictions have actually added to the experience, by limiting numbers and encouraging people to give people time and distance to appreciate all the exhibits 🖤 …
H. H.
Incredible museum, it had everything and more!!! I didnt want to leave. In the most gorgeous setting too...a must see for everyone!! Need more Aleister Crowley!!!
B.
Excellent historical place showing a lot of the years when witches roamed the world.. an interesting and interactive place… beautiful location too 😀
R. M.
Very interesting place to visit. Loads of items relating to the subject. My daughter found it really interesting. £5 for adults and £4 for children. Worth it if you are interested by the subject, lots of things to read so you need a bit of time to look at things in detail.
A. G.
An enchanting and beautifully presented museum packed full of interesting artefacts and curiosities. Very knowledgeable and friendly owner . Strongly recommend to anyone interested in all things pagan !
C. W.
Great little museum! For such a small place it had lots of interesting stuff to read and look at. As me and my hubby are big fans of things dark and mystical this was right up our street. Also there us a nice little gift shop afterwards. Definitely a must see!
C. W.
Simply excellent. Full of info, history and all things witchy and magical. Plenty to see and discover. Very popular.
N.
An amazing place. Lots of detailed information and the staff are kind and helpful. You can't really go Boscastle without going to this famous site. Although it's fairly small they have managed to pack alot in there
N. F.
Good museum, but very small. Around very beautiful nature and see.
E.
Cool little place to go. £7 for adults & *an amount* less for children though there are some explicit displays you may not want your children to see.
W. L.
Great place, makes you realise how stupid people are that persecute others for reasons they don't understand or just simply make up. The historical aspect is brilliant though.
s. e.
Very well stocked museum, allow a good couple of hours to read every item and admiring the exhibits. Nation wide material covering all folk law, magic dark and white, be prepared to be shocked by passed actions against so called witches and healers.
C. K.
Such an unusual attraction but good if you are into something a bit different. The staff have a lot of knowledge about the exhibits and a real passion for it which is lovely. It didnt take us long to get around but it is set in a lovely village with other things to do and a nice walk. There is a really big carpark for the village which is about 10 minutes walk but its all flat so not strenuous.
C. M.
Fab little museum; interesting and unusual. We spent over an hour in there. Husband who set himself up to be bored thoroughly enjoyed it all. The 18 and 21 year old really loved it.
J. M.
I had two places on my list when visiting Boscastle for a few days. This was the first one. Met another couple on the trail that day and saw them in the museum where we both had a strange connective experience with something in the museum. There was so much I didn't know and it was alot more informative that I expected. Loved it.
W.
Lovely little museum, and reasonably priced (£7 for adults). This is not 'Harry Potter world' and includes lots of interesting exhibits covering some of the darker sides of the occult, so may not be suitable for some audiences.
P. M.
Interested artifacts expecially if your into witches 🧙♀️ not my jam but worth a visit
S. M.
Bigger than it looks and very strange but interesting place. Good for £5 entry fee. Parents taking children beware there are lots of phallic pictures and objects - many questions may follow!
R. D.
Wonderful museum, value for money & tells the true history of magic & witchcraft in the UK & beyond. Unique & reasonably priced gifts too.
B. B.
Only a small place but packed with loads to see. Wel worth a visit. Set in beautiful boscastle.
n. b.
My 17 year old daughter absolutely loved it, I have been a few times before so I was pleasantly surprised how much work the team had put in. Great job. Value for money. 🤗
B. D. W.
Always a treat to visit the museum. Informative, interesting and well curated! Love it
J. M.
Interesting place for history, some strange artefacts, bit scary for young children
G. B.
Very interesting and educational for those who want to know more about witches and witchcraft throughout time. Don't just walk through, it is worth really giving yourself time to read the information with the items which are on display.
R. S.
Very lovely experience, the collection is unbelievable and so much history there... had an incredible time.
Book your tickets in advance!!
M. C.
Excellent and fascinating museum. Lots of historic artefacts on the subject and everything is shown with care and obvious knowledge.
K.
Interesting and very creepy history of witchcraft with fascinating scary things to look at.
L. A.
A claustrophobic jumble of various artifacts. Some were very interesting indeed and of great historic importance Spooky in parts.
E. R.
Great museum with an impressive collection of items and knowledge on modern witchcraft and a little even about our druidic history. Would love to know more about this and more about actual beliefs and how this ties in with witchcraft and the supernatural. Really enjoyed my visit.
I was sad there wasn't really anything about witchcraft still practices around the world from other cultures and continents such as Africa, South America and Asia. There is so much going on that could be valuable to the Western culture and is also very little understood (or therefore respected) by most people. A good example being native remedies being notoriously understudied. Thinking of this, a collaboration between modern herbalism in the UK (Chelsea and Dilston Physic garden) could give a lot more depth and credence to witch doctors in the UK of the past, today as they are studying these things and it's really exciting what they're finding!
D. G.
Enjoyed my visit, factually interesting but not a huge space and was not possible with anyone that had mobility issues
T. v. d. B.
Too crowded, felt pressured going trough the museum. There were some interesting objects. But it was too much to read and not enough interaction.
J. G.
Really interesting small museum, had wanted to vist for a while. Long queue for entry if you hadn't prebooked ( recommended in high season)
A. N.
Really unusual and interesting museum. There is alot to see and read so allow plenty of time. The museum is very well set out. Well worth a visit
A. F.
Great little museum, only small but lots packed in, some really interesting and unique pieces on display
L. H.
Really interesting museum, well laid out and very friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
R.
Fun experience for a rainy day. Lots of interesting exhibits and things to see. I'm not sure how great it would be for kids, I think if they're already curious about the topic then it would be great but otherwise there's a lot of things to read rather than do. With that said it's a great window into the UK's magical underground and its occult history.
C. P.
Great little exhibition, feels like one man's love letter to all things witchcraft. A massive range of artifacts from a range of culture. Make sure you put aside a good couple of hours if you want to read ALL of the signage and notes on display.
T. C. (. S.
Reasonable price to get in, lovely setting. Inside there was paraphernalia from all to do with witchcraft, magic, and superstition. Some of exhibits are not for the faint-hearted! A very interesting place to visit.

Fantastic place. Visited this site during our honeymoon and I would definitely recommend going as I will be coming back. The small sanctuary at the back of the gift shop is such a beautiful addition to the place. So much history and information in this place! Amazing!
J. M.
Very educational on the history of English and international witchcraft
D. A.
Lots of very interesting exhibits from across the globe.
Can be busy, which results in queues or difficulty in being able to read the information on certain exhibits.
C. H.
Very interesting little museum - with loads of information and items on display. Definitely worth a visit but not for the faint hearted!
D. W.
Amazing place to see, with so much in a small space. Would recommend to book tickets.
M. P.
We visited on a Sunday, on the off chance, it was busy, to be expected in the summer holidays, was cramped and warm, if its busy you get held up,which can be frustrating, that being said very interesting and wonderful artifacts, staff were friendly
D. R.
A brilliant museum. Fantastic displays and information about the history of natural magic and witchcraft. Excellent gift shop and very reasonable prices. One could easily spend a couple of hours here. Please drop a coin or two into the wishing well, all coins collected are in support of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Service.
We visited on Friday, May 13th, 2022. 😉

Absolutely magical in every sense of the word. My favourite place in the world. A must see in Cornwall.
S. C.
Fantastic, lots to look at, very interesting local folklore and history. Suits Boscastle very nicely
A. B.
If you like a touch of witchcraft & magic then this is for you, an interesting visit with some weird and wonderful items on display. Please take a look at the height of the flood water marker to the right of the door as you walk in , incredible.
N. L.
Very informative & well layed out museum with friendly staff & a small shop.
I could spend hours here (I did last visit !).
V. F.
Fascinating and so many facts and things to look out, will definitely go again to absorb more of the masses of information. Brilliant value for money.
N. D.
Awesome place to visit.
Lots to see, so plan at least an hour.
Best part is that it is dog friendly.
A. L.
I only live 40 minutes away from Boscastle and have been meaning to visit this museum for ages. Really pleased that we did - and the £5 entrance fee is good value. I’m Pagan so I have a personal interest in all of the artefacts held within the museum; there’s always much more for us to learn and it was interesting to learn how the perception and indeed practise of Witchcraft has changed throughout history.
I really enjoyed sharing this experience with my other half who isn’t Pagan but respects my lifestyle - the museum allowed us to chat about certain aspect of it which was great!
That staff were friendly - gift shop a little pricey so didn’t buy anything. Would definitely visit again!
K. H.
Small building packed full of interesting exhibits. No dogs allowed inside.
o. l.
i spent 3to 4 hrs in this museum..i found it fascinating..intriguing and educating..highly recommend..
E. S.
Such an interesting Museum well worth a visit, don’t forget your reading glasses !!!
A. B.
It depends if this sort of thing is for you or not. We were in the area and can across an early All Hallows Eve festival with Morris dancers and drums etc. It was interesting and Boscastle is quaint.
C. M.
Very interesting museum which is packed full of artefacts and exhibits. Tells an excellent story of witchcraft and magic through the ages. Many stories of persecution, perception and misperception. Very interactive and yes, very creepy in places but definitely worth a stop to have a wander round!
D. H. C.
Excellent museum about witchcraft and magic filled with loads of interesting artefacts and stories!
A. D.
Such an amazing place to visit!!!!
M. P.
Very informative museum. The owner was clearly passionate about the subject. There's a great variety of artefacts including sculptures, paintings, memorabilia, dolls, photographs, etc. Learnt much about the history of witchcraft while here. Will definitely visit again in the summer.
M. R.
Very interesting and informative exhibits. Well worth a visit.
B. A.
A little gem! If like me you're into all things magic check this place out. Boscastle is such a gorgeous place too
H.
Always love visiting this place when we are in the area. There is so much information to take such a small place I feel like I'm reading/seeing some of it for the first time. Always learn something new on each visit.
S. W.
Been twice love this museum I it's stunning surroundings
J. M.
Loved it.
J. M.
Remarkable collection. 100% worth a visit. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
C. M.
Great place to visit..never gets old..I go over 'n over they always freshen the exhibits so there's always something new..
B. E.
Great experience lots of different 'objects' to see and read about. Entry fee good £7
A. L.
Fabulous place to visit, so many interesting stories and things to look at. I could have spent hours there taking it all in.
G. L.
Wonderful museum! The history of the place itself is as interesting as any of the exhibits - and the exhibits are fantastic! Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Cornwall.
S. W.
Absolutely amazing experience, loved every minute of my visit. The range of exhibits is fantastic. Wonderful knowledge of Magick & Witchcraft. A must see for anyone interested
G. p.
So beautiful here. Really interesting artifacts. Very much worth a visit.
M. W.
Witches Museum,Boscastle,North Cornwall. It was closed, but can see weird stuff &photos&cards visitors have written, through windows!Supposedly largest in UK.
S. M.
Amazing place. Highly recommended to those who are curious or currently practicing any of the various traditions.
M. C.
Visited today and it was the perfect way to spend our Halloween weekend! The staff were lovely and welcoming, the exhibits were fascinating, there were so many oddities on display. It might've benefited from some atmospheric background music, especially being Halloween, but that's only a personal preference. Will definitely be returning.
l. f.
Very enjoyable, took my grandson, he found it very interesting
L. J. S.
Interesting place full of witchcraft .everything is well exhibited and well explained in small little village with little tea shops .art and crystal shops .
D. A.
A really fascinating wunderkammer of a museum, well worth a visit, as is all of Boscastle.
J. C.
We went as a large group, we had to split down into smaller groups but that was fine as its quite a narrow museum. It was better than I expected! I found the beginning exhibits more interesting than the main room which felt over cluttered. The shop at the end has an odd mix but it was a nice place to visit and a really nice location.
C. A.
Great quirky place for an hour or so entertainment.
M. H. (.
Excellent atmosphere displays and knowledgeable detailed information, 3 generations of us visited and we all enjoyed learning about Lore superstitions traditions and witchcraft highly recommend a visit and extremely good value, thank you to the staff for doing an excellent job and taking time out to answer questions
J. G.
Great visit but you would be wise to prebook as we had a long wait
N. D.
Fascinating and esoteric museum. Possible for wheelchair users to visit but if you cannot get out of your wheelchair you will be confined to the ground floor, however, this does mean that you get to visit without charge. Staff were very helpful and instructed me on how to navigate, what is usually, the one way system. There are two sections which are a little tight, I use a standard Salsa M2 with a bag on the side which increases my width by maybe 1-2". Turning space is also tight when you hit the stairs and have to turn back - requires a bit of confident reversing. Really interesting exhibits if you like history and are interested in witchcraft. Lots of reading, some labels are above your head if you're a wheelchair user. I could see most of them but if you struggle with your eyesight drag along a helpful companion to read anything which is too far away.
J. L. C.
Fascinating collection of stories. Staff was very friendly.
M. J.
Long wait to get in then didn't feel like had enough time to look at things properly as folks were coming in behind. Still glad I went though
W. R.
It was a good museum to visit, but It took me a while to find it as it was down along the harbour. But I'm glad I found it as it was a lovely hour spent
M. H.
Genuinly fascinating and this comes from a witchcraft scruge. An incredibly eclectic collection offering something for everyone. The local dark cliffs of Boscastle really add to the atmosphere.
M. M.
Small but very interesting museum if you are interested in the history & background of witchcraft & the paranormal.
E. K.
Nice small museum. Dogs are Welcome but because of the smaller paths in the museum it not really suttable for big dogs (Newfoundlander)
S. R.
Fantastic museum and really shows witchcraft for what it is...very informative and interesting 👍 …
K. O.
Considering the cost of entry your visit it quite short and because of the amount of people they admit at once you feel quite rushed
J. P.
Really great museum. So much stuff to read and to look at. Perfect part of the world for it as well.
E. B.
I love this place. The people who work at the Museum are wonderful.
f. M.
Absolutely amazing fascinating plethora of artifacts what a wonderful place
L. F.
Very interesting, but I wouldn't take small children!
S. D.
Really interesting visit. Lots of artifacts. Would recommend purchasing tickets in advance as it can get busy. Boscastle is very pretty.
D. H.
Fantastic place, full of mystery and wonders about the witchcraft world . Fantastic
S. R.
Always such an interesting museum to visit with so much information, I never tire of coming here, in fact I look forward to it so much each and every time. The women who run this museum are so friendly and approachable I would definitely recommend visiting this gem even if you are clueless or not into witchcraft, you'll definitely learn a thing or two about the culture of Cornwall and other magical myths and legends from all over the country!
S. D.
Lots of fun for all ages, they have really improved the museum since I came years ago
M. G.
So where do I start... This " museum " is somebody's house full of witchcraft and magic that allows far too many people in at once you can hardly move and you don't get to read half of the stuff in there and it's really hot beacuase of the people and the lights it also stinks of sweat beacuase of this
O. S.
It shows that a lot of effort was put in collecting historical as well art artifacts related to witch and witchcraft. Small but full very dense with a lot of information. Very friendly to disabled and assisted guests.
M. M.
Really informative place, so much history and varied exhibits.
N. F.
Still a fabulous place, I last visited before the floods that destroyed it. It's back and we'll worth a visit full of fascinating artefacts. You need at least an hour to view it all and to take it in. Recommended
R. D.
Very interesting ,very small but well set out.Loved it
V. L.
Such an interesting and magical place. 🤩 I could have spent hours in there to absorb everything there. 🪄💫
s. C.
A really eye opening experience. Loads of exhibits . Not for the faint hearted!
M. B.
An absolutely magical place I live it! Highly recommended.
g. h.
Love this place. Wish I lived closer, I would volunteer. I could have spent ages in there. Will definitely visit again. Well worth the entry fee even if not a believer, it's part of the history of Cornwall.
S. M.
A lovely compact museum detailing many centuries of the arcane. It's filled with artifacts, paintings and exhibits, tastefully set out without sensationalising the subject matter. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Ideal for all ages, there's not much to disturb even the most nervous of disposition.
I. 9.
A small but very interesting museum on an unusual theme.
It'll take you around an hour to see all the exhibits, longer if you read every article.
The downside was booking the tickets- tickets are released each Thursday at 6pm for the following 7 days.
I tried to book for one adult and two children and the website seemed to be bugged and wouldn't let me book. My daughter's better on the internet than I am and she eventually managed. Expect some frustration from the booking experience but the museum is definitely worth a visit.
R. H.
Looks like a small place but they have a lot of items such as pictures, letters, occult symbols, and much more.. There is a lot of information about the items as well as some well-known witches. We spent about an hour there. We received a very friendly welcome, and we're asked what we thought of it on our way out. While chatting, the young lady recommended their website where the collection can be seen online.
The entry price was very reasonable (they're currently only taking online bookings) at £7 for each adult with discounted prices for children.
Would certainly recommend.
D.
Fantastic museum with an abundance of interesting pieces.
H. P.
Took my 2 kids 12 & 8 and they loved it. So interesting, worth the £7.50 each. Staff are so pleasant and helpful and some lovely things to buy in the giftshop. The area of Boscastle is simply stunning a really beautiful part of the world
S. C.
Very impressive. Original artefacts and books. Surrounded by mystery and a lot of history.
O. F.
Very unique and educational, both really enjoyed it.
A. S.
Didn't visit this time, but last time we did, we were mesmerised with the history and the amount of things that was on show.
s. v.
It is so small museum but you need to visit this area! It is interesting. You can feel the link between the old house and the exhibition theme.
V. S.
Set in beautiful surroundings... a fascinating insight into all things witchy. Loved it!
M. P.
Lovely quirky museum with friendly staff.
S. “. T.
Excellent museums showcasing a grand collection of witchcraft and magic curiosities and artefacts of the occult. Really enjoyable day out, however, be aware that this is not a spooky scary place that will thrill or terrify you, for that try Alton Towers, this is also not, I repeat NOT for children, its grim, disturbing, a lot of sexual references, and too macarbe for any child, unless they enjoy the esoteric and occult and can maturly look through this excellent museum, whilst still being respectful of occult culture. Some children who I think where looking for some kind a amusement arcade kept shout "err, whats that." And "yuck, thats weird" the whole time we looked around, their parents appeared to be cheeting them on too. As a practicer of the occult this did offened me a little, but boys will be boys I guess. So as I say not for children and please leave you're horrifically deformed pug dogs at home, I really didnt need them farting, grunting, defecating on and licking my ankle while I studied the skull of ancient Egyptian, so yeah it may say dogs allowed, but no dogs please. All in all a fantastic museum of the occult.
M. H.
You have to go in with an open mind.Enlightening really doesn’t do it justice

Museum of Witchcraft, Boscastle
L. I.
A small, information packed museum situated in a great little spot at Boscastle. It took us a good hour to move around the museum, taking in all the information and displays. The staff know their stuff and are also happy to share what they know too. Worth a visit.
J. B.
Small and quaint but very interesting. This little museum was definitely a highlight and we always visit whenever we are in the area.
A. F.
This isn't normally my sort of thing but it was certainly an interesting visit. Reading about the history of different witchcraft areas locally and nationally. There are some great displays with plenty to read. Worth a visit if you are looking for a little something to do if it is raining in Boscastle.
K. l.
A very interesting place.
O. !.
Travelled from perinporth to visit was 7nder impression our dog was allowed to find out the policy has changed no dogs allowed now, partner went in as she was looking forward to it all hoilday, so heads up no doggys best travel without them
J. G.
What would appear to be an unassuming cottage, tucked away and hidden well to mere muggles, is actually an extremely pretty and unique museum. Of course that’s what they want you to think, after quietly speaking some words that I can’t type for obvious reasons (they aren’t meant to be heard by mere mortals) I was quietly and swiftly asked to leave. I can only presume this is all a part of the act as they can’t have someone as powerful as myself walking around, strutting my powers amongst the common folk. So as I write this review, bags packed and ready to go, I await for my letter to arrive via owl. As of yet I’ve only seen a few pigeons and an aggressive seagull. But I remain patient and excited to start my next chapter in life.
C. M.
Brilliant place, picturesque interesting
m.
Went in not expecting much and was very pleasantly surprised, bigger than I expected and hooks you instantly, well worth the visit and not too expensive either. Even if you aren't a fan of witchcraft and similar stuff it still holds up very well as a good attraction with very interesting information!
E. D.
I was a little disappointed as I expected to see more detail about witchcraft. The exhibition is okay but needs a little TLC.
S. T.
If you want something different while in North Cornwall this is a place to go. Very interesting place with very different exhibition. Also has a very interesting shop for all your occult needs, have a look at my pictures
A. P.
Highlight of out holiday. Such a fascinating museum.
V. S.
I was really looking forward to go to this museum for years and now finally! Staff is incredibly kind I managed to get in when they already sold out all the tickets but they had a last minute cancellation! It's great and so interesting! Highly recommended!
r. w.
Book before you go. Fantastic historical information
A. B.
Tucked away in the charming village of Boscastle is this well-curated and rather unsettling museum. It took us just under an hour to explore the six exhibition rooms that were filled with some bizarre and creepy objects. Probably unsuitable for under 10s. Don't think this is some Harry Potter experience because you'll be disappointed. Open your mind to the macabre!
P. L.
Lovely museum friendly staff and really interesting.
J. V.
I would usually give this place 5 Stars. I love this museum. The only reasons it has dropped to 3 stars are:
1. One hour is not enough time to get around the museum and to read everything that is there. It changes every year so you really do need to red everything to ensure that you haven't missed anything.
2. The ambience has changed in the place (and not for the better). There used to be chanting being sung in the background, this was then changed to only in one area and it has now disappeared altogether. A shame, because it both added to the atmosphere and also promoted the CD that used to be sold there. I don't know if it still is, I was already 30 minutes over my allocated hour so didn't have time to look in the cabinet that housed the shop goods.
3. A little niggle, but it did leave a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth - There is a booking fee for booking online, not mentioned until you are almost at the checkout part.
4. You have to book on line. I know that there are limited spaces due to COVID, but nothing has changed with the restrictions being lifted. (With no option but to book online, the booking fee is an extra little niggle).
5. The staff have changed. I must say that the lady I spoke with was very understanding and listened to what I was saying when I mentioned the above, the man was simply officious and patronizing.
Having said all of that, I will go again next year, just as I have done for the last 20 years or so (except of course last year when it was closed). If things have changed, I will amend my rating back to 5 stars that I would usually give it.
J. C.
I would not be a regular visitor but. ticked the box to say experience done
C. G.
Really interesting place if you're interested in witchcraft or local legends.
J. S.
Come here every year, there is always something new
E. D.
Amazing place, very interesting and in a picturesque setting.
S. W.
Interesting museum to visit. Certainly opens your eyes. Good fun place.
K. J.
Very interesting but expensive for the short time we were in there
L. C.
Beware of the narrow staircase.
Good fun and staff very helpful.
R. S.
Interesting place.. quite small but full of stuff to see. It was a little difficult to get around because the hallways are quite narrow and with social distancing you couldn't get past anyone who was particularly interested in reading every single card.
V. G.
Lots to see in a small museum. They have curated so many artifacts. It is an old fashioned museum with a lot of reading rather than interaction but still very interesting.
Also taking Covid safety very seriously.
H. G.
Two hours wasn't enough, overflowing with information and artifacts! Will be back to see the rest!
E. R.
This place says it closes at 6pm but my friend and I drove over an hour to see this museum, we arrived just after 5pm hoping we had 45 mins left and it was closed. This was on Saturday the 16th of April. Thanks
M. A.
A hidden gem. But visit early in the day to make sure to get a parking space
r. c.
Great little museum if a little creepy!
A. A.
Awesome place. Full of magic, myths and knowledge. Way better experience than expected.
A. C.
Loved it very interesting. Gorgeous museum. Nice people. I'd go back.
G. W.
I was here yesterday for a 3 o clock slot and could have spent hours , the museum is like a tardis , small on the outside but loads packed into it, there are loads of strange and wonderful items on show , ranging from voodoo dolls to lucky charms , an absolutely fascinating place even if you aren't interested in witchcraft, this comes as an absolute must do if you visit Boscastle, the souvenir shop consists of a glass cabinet with the items numbered and you tick the items on a laminated card and the kind people at the entrance get the items for you, a bit like a witch Argos!
D. C.
Came here before and the museum is an amazing history of witchcraft through the ages. Very disappointed now however that you have to prebook and tour the museum to access the shop. Surely for those who just need to stock up on supplies, the shop should be accessible. Potential sales lost there owners!
J. B. (.
We always go every time we visit Boscastle. Our history is so well preserved. Highly recommend this place
B. C.
Interesting little place! Lovely
P. B.
Awsome photos if surrounding area
T.
Interesting. If you are into this sort of thing you will love it.
g. y.
Very interesting. Over 2000 objects. Some dating from the time of witch hunts.
C. C.
We wait about an hour to get in,definitely not worth the wait.
S. P.
An interesting museum but there were just too many people allowed in, despite needing to pre-book. There was a lot to read and absorb so having a queue of people behind us added pressure to move on quickly and simply skim the exhibits.
M. M.
Very interesting museum regarding all things to do with witchcraft. Small location, but packed with exhibits. Take your time with this one as there are lots of interesting things to be found filling the display cases.
M. T.
Very enjoyable but very busy. Will definitely return but at a quieter time.
n. c.
Amazing little museum
L. H.
Absolutely incredible!! I'm so pleased I can tick this off my bucket list. So much detail, history, artefacts. It's in the perfect location it's so errie in a beautiful old way with all the history. Loved the way it's all explained and laid out.
S. H.
Lots of interesting stuff. Worth a look.
C. L.
Funky little place filled full of wonderful objects and lots of information and history on the subject. Thoroughly enjoyed
E. D.
Absolutely beautiful, really educational and very respectful to practicing witches!
M. R.
Great place to learn about the history of witches i.e people who were feared and persecuted by men for being nothing more than a woman who didn't conform to the days ideals.
m. b.
Absolutely loved the experience. So much to see and learn. To get to hear Crowley’s voice was amazing.
K. T.
Amazing little museum with tonnes of fascinating artefact.
P. W.
It was okay, not as interesting as it was last time we were there.
Not too expensive, the cafes nearby and the setting are both excellent.
A. W.
Very interesting and well set up museum, nice staff, lots of focus on paganism, occultism, druidism so expect some phallic objects and nudity but if you like the dark arts etc.... Definitely worth a visit
R. M.
Very unusual and interesting museum with lots of facts and exhibits. Very well presented and posed a lot of questions. Not for the faint hearted, but a most interesting mix of ancient and modern artefacts. Lots of information boards and some interactive bits for children. Disabled access good. Super attractive location on Boscastle harbour with tea shops close by. Parking nearby, the car park can get full up. Worth parking for 2 hours to see this museum properly, longer if you want to walk round the harbour and quirky shops. Recommend a visit.
C. W.
Such an amazing museum and in a beautiful location. It was our first time to Boscastle and defiantly won't be our last. With each visit we will be sure to check in at the museum. The history and artifacts they have here are mind blowing. Be sure to set aside a few hours so you can really see and learn about the history, myths and legends that this place holds
G. A.
awesome museum we'll worth a visit if your in the area
M. C.
Such an amazing museum! I have visited a few times now and always see new things in there. I love learning about everything, and seeing some very usual items.
The museum has a nice atmosphere to match, and staff are friendly and helpful.
M. G.
Lots to see, great little walk around and lovely gifts
S. J. H.
BOSCASTLE the home of the museum of witchcraft. Some very interesting items, some a tad tacky.
You need to book online, ticket only.
Worth the visit. Probably not for young children.
P. L.
So interesting, I learnt things that I didn't know before about witch craft and it was just a little bit creepy !
C. B.
Really amazing museum ! We've previously visited when dogs were allowed in, but sadly they are now NOT allowed in. They have an exhibition that changes often. Lots to look at with lots of information ! The area is pretty tight and it gets full very easily, especially when busy or during peak times. A lot the money raised helps support the air ambulance ! Friendly staff.
Just a brilliant museum !
B. R.
So interesting - staff are knowledgeable and friendly. You need to allow yourself good time to really read about all the items but theres so much variety here to explore and learn about! Not a "fluffy" museum for small children but lots of interesting content for older children.
M. V. L.
What an amazing place!! Full of hidden gems - Aleister Crowley's signed photo, the happy skull, and the knitted hung PT instructor poppet made by the pupils she bullied. Just fantastic!!
M. S.
A unique and interesting visit. Very informative and lots on display - amazed at how much is in here based on it's small size from the outside. Love Boscastle and have been visiting since childhood holidays. Renovations from the devastating floods have brought the entire village back to it's full glory. Beautiful place and the Museum only adds to it's character. Definitely recommend.
M. W.
A beautiful, extensive and well designed exhibition of witchcraft and magic, I thoroughly enjoyed my time visiting here today.
R. T.
Really is the centre of the witchy world.
Well worth a visit.
C. C.
Broad range of historical pieces, artworks and curios. Well laid out and although I saw a few children going about happily I know it would have been unsuitable for two of my children who are quite sensitive.
I loved it and although I have an interest in the history of witchcraft and folklore I don't think you'd need to have to enjoy it.
Friendly staff, a fair entrance price and in the most beautiful setting.
L.
I absolutely loved this place when I visited it! Super interesting and totally worth the money. I’m pretty sure it’s haunted there (obviously) as we caught a few orbs on camera. So if you love dark stuff and ghosts and witchcraft, I totally recommend! But please don’t take kids in there, there are quite a lot of disturbing stuff in there.
S. W.
We've been here many times and it's always interesting as they change their displays very often. The museum tells the stories of witches and witchcraft through the ages from the village wise woman with her cures for infertility and hexes for wrong doers to the modern age witch with crystal wands and flowing gowns. It's a great place to visit and very cheap too
L. E.
This is the second visit to this museum I've made and it's amazing. It's small but filled to the brim with displays. The atmosphere is good and the smell of smudging delicately accompanies you around. Even if witches and magic isn't really your interest it's worth a visit for the history explained throughout. There is so much stuff here you could lose yourself for hours looking at it all.
M. A.
Lovely little museum!
A. P.
Such an interesting place to visit. We spent a long time in there. Dogs are welcome on leads and both of ours seemed to enjoy their visit!
A huge amount of objects to look at, from skulls to poppets. Plus the accompanying texts are very informative.
Colourful and sometimes a bit gory or creepy, something for everyone.
Gift shop good on way out.
E.
Nicely made little walk through museum! Lots of interesting and creepy stuff. I recommend checking it out if your in Boscastle.
B. L.
Perfect place for witchy learnings. It's small but so packed with interesting items. I've been there a few times and I'm always in awe of the collection. Definitely one for the Goths amongst us.
A. M.
Really interesting little museum in Boscastle. Lots of unusual and fascinating exhibits and information about the history of witchcraft. Definitely makes you feel sorry for those women of the past because of how they were treated. Takes about an hour to get round if you read everything. My 8-year old loves this place and we visit every time we come to this part of Cornwall.
J. S.
Very good history on witchcraft if your into the more darker side of the history. Not for the very light hearted and Harry Potter fans incredibly interesting and factual great place to find out about some of the witchcraft history
C. D.
Brilliant day out and Boscastle itself is a great place to go and to host this museum. Full of information you could spend a week going through it all. Not scary for kids loads of families walk through. Worth the money.
G. H.
Brilliant collection, much more than i was expecting and great value for money. And you can spend as long as you want in the museum! There's plenty to read and look at so you'll be there for a while and get way more than your moneys worth. Really educational and really fun for anyone into creepy stuff or who believes in magic! I'll definitely visit again any time i'm in or near Cornwall! Traveled a long way to visit and was not disappointed
A. B.
Well worth the visit. Of you're a believer of the occult and magic, interested in folklore, or even skeptical, it's an interesting well put together exhibition with tonnes of information and lots of interesting artefacts!
M. T.
There is a not a place where I have seen so many unusual and interesting paranormal things packed into one small place. Staff are friendly and once you pay you walk around the museum which was the collection of a local paranormal researcher of the area. It is well worth a visit. If however you have children of a slightly squish nature you might want to go in front of them to ensure they don't see anything you wouldn't otherwise want them to see. There were six of us in our party and we all thought it was great.
J. J.
This was our second visit, but enjoyed it as much as the first time. There are many fascinating items with historical information. Even if you are not pagan or do not follow Wicca it is a very interesting, reasonably priced experience .
M. L.
A weird, quirky, curious place full of oddities!
The entry price is only 4 £ per person (concession price, otherwise 5), so it is definitely worth a visit. I wouldn't recommend it for children though, as there are some disturbing objects and some sexual items. There are a lot of information panels with rather long texts. You can spend there a lot of time if you want to.
The shop isn't very interesting. I had hoped to find some nice spiritual gift for my mother but there was nothing extraordinary.
S. S.
Really good time, makes it worth visiting pretty Boscastle. Great inspiration for rituals.
R. B.
We went to a evening story event in the library, then had a day visit to the museum and later viewed the summer solstice artworks which were beautiful. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the entry fee is a fair price. The museum is in a picturesque location beside the harbour. The exhibits are interesting although only a few predate the 20th century. Visitors of all beliefs are able to explore a rich local and national history of magic, witchcraft and folklore including the benevolent, malign and bizarre. I enjoyed learning about the Cecil Williamson, original curator, and his curiosity, knowledge and gentle sense of mischief lives on in this wonderful collection.
D. P.
Fascinating for anyone with an interest in witchcraft and paganism. There are enough exhibits and written material to keep you busy for hours. As an added bonus Boscastle is a fabulous place to visit and the museum sits right down by the harbour between 2 very good tea rooms
B. C. R.
Unique museum. Great collection. Interesting but strange ideas. So much to see!
M. &. S. S.
Must see, only £5 adult ticket. Definitely worth.
S. B.
A good place to visit and really good displays from over the last hundred years and more. History of withcraft leading up to modern day. If you are visiting Boscastle then here is a place you should visit. Great value for family tickets also.
b. k.
Very interesting , opens your mind to things in the past.
C. G.
An interesting museum, it's not too big so there tends to be clumps of people moving around that block your way at times. There's a lot of interesting material available but it can sometimes be hard to read or know where that is (unlabelled drawers, no indication that they're part of the exhibit).
All in all, a good place to visit if you're interested and happy to pay the entrance fee.
S. B.
It's an okay place. (The walk to the edge of the coast passed the museum is spectacular!) The women that work there didn't talk or give us a hint to look out for this or that to make it exciting. Very interesting facts. Not a lot in there but we were happy to pay the £5 per person entry to support it - sasly the museum lost a lot of items in the flood. I hope they get the support to keep collecting & improving :)
A. J.
A fantastic place to take a look. Lots to see and read so allow some time to do this to get the best out of it. Been twice now during the day and would love to do the evening tour. Certainly recommend and Boscastle is a wonderful place with a calming feel about it.
R. G.
Full of interesting facts, but requires lots of reading. We struggled to keep the kids engaged.
Definitely recommended for adults who want to understand more about the history of witchcraft and separate facts from fiction - there is a surprising number of facts!
Obviously you can find all the facts online, but this place adds a nice environment and plenty of parafernalia. If you're around this place I can definitely recommend you take a look.
N. B.
Quirky museum worth a visit if you're in or around Boscastle
R. C.
Devotees and the mildly curious will both find lots fascinating and little known facts amongst the best collection of magic, occult and witchcraft artifacts in the UK. There is so much here that it would probably take a dozen visits to absorb it all. This is a true cornucopia of delights; in fact some of them are quite dark and disturbing but none of it is boring. The best small museum I've seen.
N. J. W.
I love going to Boscastle. The main reason is for the coastal walk to Tintagel and back, and the leather shop but one of the main attractions is this museum. Well worth a visit although it is seasonal. Closed over the winter but when open you can spend a good hour here.
S. B.
Very interesting and informative and very calming
P. T.
Visited during May 2017. Carefully explains all manner of items, customs & traditions connected to witchcraft. The exhibits were very interesting and the explanatory texts clearly explained the relevant information concerning the individual exhibit.
Anyone interested in the occult would be quite interested. Daughter spent 1.5 hours there and was quite excited about what information she obtained there. Friendly staff at the entry too.
d. c.
Very friendly and polite staff.
Was without a doubt the most weird and interesting place I have ever been too. Went on candlelight night, got very hot.
But the real facts are what blow my mind. Go in with a open mind. Its very odd but you will remember the trip.
J. F.
History and magic together - always a good sell :-). I enjoyed my visit, especially in such a beautiful and picturesque little town like Bosecastle. The gentleman that sold me the ticket was very well informed and sweet. I took some pictures but I didn`t want to spoil the surprises :-). One thing you need to remember - if you want to go there look on their website for the opening hours because they said they cannot be changed accordingly on Google Maps.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
D. K.
A really quirky little museum. Lady on the front desk was so lovely and kind. A great extensive collection with things for everyone from young to old. A really interesting attraction where you can learn alot! A little gift shop at the end has some really nice buys.
a. k.
Great selection of witch artifacts ideal for the curious minded. Recommend a visit.
B. H.
Very informative with some quirky bits and bobs

What fantastic little museum. Even if you don't believe in such arts, go visit, look at, digest and think about what you've seen you'll be in a state of wonderment. I and my family enjoyed every moment in this museum, we learnt masses, had lots of fun and we thought about things we never knew before. The staff will help you with any questions you have and all have a story to tell. The displays are just brilliant, from the pretty to the gory to displays that will make you question. I'll be going back to see this place again and again. Please visit and keep this place open.

An absolutely amazing museum with a plethora of irreplaceable historical social history. Very educational and run by dedicated learned folk who are passionate about keeping the knowledge alive. It's very small though and not the place to allow small children to run amock, and is a place to be respectful. It has a disability chair lift for the stairs for those with mobility problems so can be accessed by everyone. If you have the patience to read and wander you will learn lots.
G. A.
A well curated and nicely explained collection of mostly English magic.
It does not take sides in its description and portrayal - instead it explains the evolution and history of every exhibit in depth. There was not enough time to properly read and examine every exhibit in 4 hours.
I especially liked their emphasis on exhibiting the local folklore magic "of the hills" right next to a rigorously explained section on all kinds of really regimented ritual magic. What a juxtaposition!
I would definitely recommend a visit.
They do allow non-flash photography. There are stairs, and usually quite a few people, so try and divine a less busy time to come, because the reading does take quite some time.
K. H.
Friendly staff, reasonable prices for a museum with such a wealth of history. I loved this museum so much and hope to visit again in the future. Did go rather mad in the giftshop, but I'm not complaining one little bit. I recommend this museum so highly, thank you for such a lovely time!
T. S.
An absolutely fabulous place to visit, especially if you are interested in witchcraft and magic. Although, it's not Harry Potter based. This is for people who have a true interest in Pagan and traditional witchcraft. My son loved looking for the little witches doors or fairy doors.
D. C.
So I didnt really know what to expect of this place, but it is thoroughly enchanting (yes that was a deliberate joke).
There is a whole load of exhibitions covering a wide range of Witches, Magic and Paganism through the ages. Really is interesting and well worth the time to go through. The foundations of how the museum came into being is great to learn as well.
Only advice I would give is that some of the exhibits may prompt some interesting and potentially challenging questions from younger family members - the entry team gave some handy advice of where is probably best to focus youngsters eyes if you dont want them to see some of the interesting stuff.
E. H.
An amazing 'magical' place, with lots to see and read, interaction and educational properties would love to go again and again, to see the library. I loved seeing people writing messages and lighting candles for loved ones and family in the shrine. I was very 'in awe' by the end and couldn't help buying a few candles and souvenirs and donating a few coins to an amazing, wonderful place.
S. E.
Very interesting place, especially the stories. Some of the older exhibits were quite creepy which normally isn't good but the opposite in this case.
O. T.
Interesting place with a good variety of occult items and information
C. F.
One of the best museums we've ever been to. It's so unassuming. Looks tiny from the outside but the range of artefacts and quality of displays is staggering. Didn't really know what to expect but we were blown away. Great value
J. P.
An excellent place full of weird and wonderful things
D. P.
Lovely lady behind the desk. I can't "do" stairs very well due to disability so the lady explained what was upstairs and then let me explore the downstairs for free. It was very interesting and you easily get absorbed into the many artifacts and story boards. Highly recommended *****
T. H.
The collections here are amazing. Loved every minute of it. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to read it all and take lots of photo. I don't think I absorbed even half of it. There is so much to take in. It's a beautiful little village which is a bonus for a nice walk on a lovely day.
T. B.
An incredibly interesting museum with a huge amount of captivating local history. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area
R. R.
Brilliant place and a vast amount of items. Incredible value for money, truly!
N. S.
Loved the place! Both my sister & I wished we had more time to spend there. Very educational on many levels. Never seen such a great display in one such beautiful location. Would recommend you broaden your thinking & spend at least 3 hours there.
F. H.
Very interesting but theres a lot of information to absorb so allow plenty of time
A. b.
Very interesting history of witch craft and pagan practice
P. J.
A very interesting place to spend an hour or so, with some of the exhibits though I would say it's not really for young children, but if you have an interest in the craft or are just curious the it's a must. 10/10
T. C.
Loved our time at the MWM. Great place to look around. Fascinating to see and read all thats in there. Highly recommended place to go visit.
K. P.
Love this place so much...and am so happy to see it back open.
A fascinating place for anyone interested in witchcraft and folklore. Well worth a visit.
M. G.
I didn't get to go inside this time because it's closed until April then opens through the summer. When I last visited it was an amazing insight also a bit creepy...would definitely recommend and I hope to go back in the summer. Nestled in beautiful Boscastle, a wonderful and dramatic village, with great places to eat
D.
Just an incredible place and a definite must see for anyone visiting. With most places becoming commercial and every shop selling the same old tat; the witchcraft museum and gift shop has stayed true and offers something different to see and experience. It might be a little scary for very young children but I've been going for over 20 years since i was little
f.
A real gem of a museum that will intrigue and delight anyone interested in folk history or magic. I cannot praise this collection enough for both the professional manner in which the exhibits are interpreted and displayed as well as the charm that the place exudes. One of Cornwall's finest places to visit.
A. A.
You don't need to be a believer to appreciate the artefacts. Apparently they lost alot of items during the great flood. Not entirely suitable for younger kids, full of interesting facts. In my opinion what lies outside of this museum is far more spectacular, the walk to the coastline is something else.
C. P.
Very interesting place filled with fascinating artefacts. And all set in beautiful Boscastle
L. R.
Booked a slot due to covid, amazing experience, so many artefacts to see and read about. Well worth the day trip and annual leave day!
B. _.
Amazing collection and museum.
J. c. B.
I get lost in wonder here..love this museum
E. E.
Amazing place. Just remember this is not the Musium of kittens and rainbows before you put a bad review. set in a beautiful tiny Cornish village. The staff are amazing and very proud of the museum. Deffo check it out you will not be disappointed
g. w.
The absolute must see place in Cornwall, full of wierd and wonderful artefacts,
R. C.
Very interesting museum. Great selection of artifacts with lots of detailed information. The shop was very small however and didn't stock any books that I could find. Customer service wasn't very helpful although I visited during a very busy period which may account for this.
M. R.
Was working there but very good place very interesting and boscastle is lovely
N. B.
Loved it! Great fun and good for older kids. Not accessible if you're in a wheelchair which is a big problem, but they can't change that with it being a very old building, which is sad. It is a lovely building.
L. T.
Great little museum. Very reasonably priced. Good access, with stair lifts if required. Lots to see and is very unique and interesting. If your in the area you really should pay it a visit.
R. W.
Well worth the visit, we really enjoyed learning about the history of witches/magic in and around boscastle and looking at all the artifacts.
T. B.
Lots of authentic stuff with detailed history
C. F.
Some fascinating history and artifacts on display here, well worth a visit if you're nearby. Located in a lovely old building, but it can get a bit cramped in parts if there are more than a few of you trying to view the same sections. Would be interesting to go again, to see what I might not have really looked at this time!
N. W.
Went when I was a kid and remembered it so vividly as full of strange creatures, however was a little disappointed when returning 27 years later as a little boring. Not nearly as many strange items. Not sure if they have been loaned out to other museums?
J. H.
Interesting but didn't keep us there too long. Some great stories and unusual exhibits!
A. M.
Only one signpost to get to this museum which is in Boscastle, £5 per adult to get in, pay to park at the car park behind the spar. Great stuff inside, too much to read in one visit. Only 4 stars due to having to pay to park on a car park which is a 5-10 minute walk away.
C. G.
Cool information. Detailed and a wide range of examples and resources. No toilets though. Need to use the public ones at the car park
C. E.
Fascinating collection but due to covid restrictions there's not quite enough time to read all of the information provided, will definitely visit again once things are back to normal, also very reasonably priced gifts available 😀 …
A. C.
A bizarre and really informative museum! Contains so much stuff that would spark interest in anyone, even those that are not initially interested in the subject matter. Covers pretty much all aspects of witchcraft and not just the UK either.
S. C.
We didn't go in because my wife's ancestor was a witch and the family hate to be reminded of this. But everyone coming out looked happy (I was sat on a wall opposite eating an ice cream).
R. G.
Interesting in an odd way. Not a place to take the kids. 15+ probably a good idea. If you like dark, ritual or black magic then probably the place to go. Nice walk down to the harbour suggested after visiting to cleanse the soul.
A. D. d. P.
I was impressed by the amount of stuff they got about witchcraft, very nice set of items, very interesting, plenty of information on the plates, and the staff was very nice.
The village is small but very cosy and surronded by a beautiful valley and good spoots to take pictures of nature sightseeings. There are a few bar where food is served, as well as souvenir shops.
If you can, try to arrange the visit when local festivity happens, as far as I can remember is on the solstice.
D. M.
An interesting insight into witchcraft a must for the visitors and Wickens on holiday.
J. W.
Really cool quirky little museum
C. M.
£5 well spent - set in the beautiful village of Boscastle it is a very interesting collection of artefacts and history of witchcraft and magic and accult - a lot of reading to further explain artefacts etc so bring your glasses! We enjoyed it as adults - didn't have the kids with us but not sure they'd enjoy it as much as more geared towards history, information and reading.
c. w.
I visited the museum on my own yesterday
When I walked in the man was very nice and helpful
I think it was great and loads of information very interesting
I was in there for about an hour or so could had stayed there longer the tarot card slot machine at the end is a very good touch.
I would recommend this museum and will return.
A. G.
This was a great little museum filled with interesting facts. It's quite small so when it's busy it is fairly difficult to read through all the little information plaques. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and would highly recommend.
K.
Great displays, definitely bigger than it looks from the outside. Respectful displays and knowledgeable staff.
D. D.
Fascinating place, some really amazing pieces and facts.
D. W.
Great museum and very informative. The documentary on the screen about the voodoo dolls could have been louder or earphones a good idea as it was drowned out by a family with children who wanted everyone to know they were there.
S. P.
An interesting and very thorough collection of both historic and modern witchcraft artefacts and lore. The museum is crammed full of information, and could probably do with a larger space, but is nestled in the charming port town of Boscastle, which itself feels quite witchy in a really lovely way.
S. S.
Really fascinating museum full of interesting items. There is an abundance of information worth your time and attention. Could easily be busy for an hour or two at this location and well worth the admission price. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
a. w.
A great little museum in a wonderful location. Not extremely disabled friendly because of the building, but they have done their best access to all floors is possible for many as they have a stair lift but narrow passage on the ground floor can be an issue especially if it's busy
T. E.
Absolutely amazing little place! Such value for money and totally packed to the rafters with information and artifacts. I have been visiting since I was a child and will keep coming back again and again.
W. R.
It was supposed to be an amazing museum, but unfortunately all days we were there on holidays, there was no booking available. So we have missed it.
A.
Very cheap price for a fantastic museum. We've been 4 times now. Always something new to read that you missed the time before. Very interesting. A must for when you visit boscastle.
B. B.
Liked it
N. P.
Quite interesting but it can get quite busy
k. a.
So many interesting artifacts, I wish I had more time to potter round.
I. W.
Set in the beautiful harbour of Boscastle this is a museum like no other I've been to. It is full of witchcraft related items and has lots of stories and articles to read. We'll with the visit and the entry fee.
M. L.
Very interesting although would of liked a look in the closed off cases.
D. M.
Nice little museum with lots of interesting and colourful displays. Made a nice change from the usual things that you find at a museum, also something to see if the weather's taken a turn.
A. C.
Full to the roof of all the magical mysticism you could ever want!
So much to see, do much to read...🖤 …
N. O.
Read everything & you'll easily spend hours there, great value for money,
S. M.
I originally came across the museum in 1997 and it 'called' to me. Ever since then I've practiced a Pagan based religion & frame of mind. You don't have to be Pagan to visit the museum, just an open mind, eclectic in belief and a spirit for adventure and wonder. The museum holds many beautiful and wonderful exhibits, many 'dark' and others 'light' in application & effect, but you can't have black without white/night without day so to speak. Cornwall has many beautiful places to visit & experience. We holiday once or twice a year in Cornwall, usually *Tintagel as our base. The ruins of King Arthur's Castle in the Tintagel cliffs/headland is another enchanting place to visit.
*The Headland camping & caravan park. We have a little caravan.
R. D. A.
Absolutely facinating if you are interested in witchy history. The big old cottage style building is crammed full of historical artifacts you could quite easily spend a good hour looking at all the weird and wonderful objects of black magic & the torchery contraptions used on so called witches. You can take photos in there and get some great photos of the outside of the building too, with a witch on her broomstick on the door. It's also in a beautiful setting along the footpath by the river. You will love it 😀
R. S.
The witch museum was fascinating with rooms full of relics from the past and present and loads of history on witchcraft, their persecution by the Christians (and others), and the adaptions of ancient potions into modern medicine. We spent a lovely hour in the witch museum which had things that appealed to the whole family.
L. D.
Great collection of information and witchy objects, loved spending time here. My only gripe is that it was really busy when we went so it was difficult to spend as much time as I would have liked taking it all in, but I guess that just means another visit is in order!
