Reviews of Nemesis
J. L.
Only ten minutes to queue for the ride. Quite fast with twists and turns. Ride duration was about 30 seconds. Would recommend as a ride to go on at the resort.
K. C.
Nemesis is such an iconic rollercoaster and one of the best of its kind in the world. The combination of an intense ride and disorientating lay-out with an amazing theme and impressive landscaping is nowhere to be found. Even after +25 years this rollercoaster is still the best of the park and absolutely the major reason to visit Alton Towers.
D.
Very good rollercoaster, second best at Alton Towers after The Smiler for me. It's quite intense and very fun - the best part is the 'zero-g roll' upside down moment that flies over the station building, you feel like you are floating! My two (minor) complaints are that the ride is quite short (if you don't like long rides, this may be an upside for you) and the final corkscrew is a little rough. These are too minor to warrant knocking off a star though!
Also, don't think this ride is just for younger people. After seeing me have fun on it, my mum has become determined to give it a go on her next visit to Alton Towers!
D. C.
Family day out with fireworks. What a day.
If you only go once a year then this is the day.
A day on the rides. Queues not big. 15 mins max.
Firework show with lasers, music and drones is amazing
See you next year.
Shame the nemesis is closed for a year
b.
Amazing ride. Without a shadow of a doubt the best coaster in the UK. The way it interacts with the rocks and stays so low to the ground, but somehow picks up so much speed from such a tiny first drop is just head spinning. That final inversion in the back row never failed to scramble my brain into pieces. The coaster is very ominous when you’re standing around the nearby area (helped by that bone chilling music) and the way that first corkscrew is high in the air is almost like it’s beckoning you to take it on. Sad that the beast is slumbering on through 2023, but certainly excited to see what 2024 holds for our reimagined Nemmy. Sit back, it’s fright time!
d.
This ride is overrated for sure but it is an incredible experience! I still don't know how it picks up that much speed! Definitely ride this first in the morning as the queues can get long and it is at the back of the park.
S. W.
What can I say about this magnificent ride, one of my favourite rides here but having the opportunity to be on it at night for my first frightfest at alton towers was an amazing experience. Brilliant is an understatement
J. W.
One of my best rides....still a great ride 30 years on and yes I was here when it opened 😅
J. X. F.
Nemesis is my favourite coaster because of its intensity and it’s enjoyment I recommend coming to Alton towers resort because of this ride it’s one of a kind of one of the best in the world
G. H.
Amazing ride, one of my top 5 in the country, bit rough the further back you go though
M. F.
I used to visit Alton Towers as a child and then this ride was one of the highlights, now I visit with my own children and it hasn't dated one bit.
This is still one of the most intense rides you can experience.
Queue times were shorter than I remember but the ride remains just as exciting!
R. D.
Been going on this ride since the start. I even remember the Thunder looper near its place, went on it again last Saturday... Nemesis is still an epic coaster recommend to all.. well if your tall enough and brave enough. Thank you Alton towers
Z. H.
Love the nemesis. A really great, classic ride. Unfortunately, it's such a shame, Alton Towers announced it will be closed on the 6th November 2022. From what I can find out it's for a revamp... Hopefully they restore it to the amazing thrill ride it is today.
C. C.
Really good, ride was closed when the park opened, but opened later in the morning. Thrilling ride, my kids loved it.
When we arrived at the park lots of the main rides weren't working, very disappointing to everyone as we arrived early walked through the park only to find the rides not working.
J.
Nemesis is just a very, very good ride with excellent theming. Only thing I would say is that if you’re not near the front you see a lot of the seats in front of you and not much of the view! Still loads of fun with some great inversions close to the water.
C. H.
Nemesis is such a great ride but it is showing its age and is definitely due its overhaul. If you can get to AT before the 6 November close do it, it will be a long time before you're riding it again.
Looking forward to riding it in the future
S. H.
Not as good as it was in 1994 but still fun. I remember the queue lines used to go up really high and you can still see the old queue line but its overgrown with algae and grass etc now. The ride used to have red colouring in the waterfall effects but that has been changed to clear water. The main ride area still needs maintenance and the queue line needs some TLC. The coloirs of nemesis main area are slighy faded over the years. I guess with the retrack happening it may be a lot better soon. Fingers crossed.
M. R.
Really love this ride. Lots of twists and turns. Fair bit of G in places too. Been trying to persuade my partner to go on before it closes for a refurb. She agreed today! Further review to follow...
W. T.
This ride is incredibly fun to ride. The way that it is dug into the terrain and also the way it takes the layout out such a speed to give a high intensity experience, makes it one of the best rides in the UK. Even by today's standards it stands out as an incredible feat of design and engineering, it's fantastic that it is still going strong 25 years on.
S. C.
For a 27 year old B&M inverted coaster, this thing still packs a real punch 🎉👊❤️
To follow up - this is still a really good, intense ride and one of the best roller coasters in the country.... I would argue its a better ride that The Smiler - although we're getting into apples and oranges territory here....
This was my first ever "upside down ride" and I was not a brave child. I was terrified of these big rides. Safe to say, after queueing 5 hours in the blistering hot sun around 2 weeks after Nemesis first opened, I was converted forever and from that moment on I loved roller coasters! The bigger and scarier the better! So - to the children who are scared to get on this thing - take a deep breath, be brave and ride it! It might just change you forever like it did me.... And if not, its less than a minute of your life finding out!
K. P.
Great to ride this roller coaster again. It is and always will be the best ride I have been on.
M. H.
Still one of the best rides in the UK after nearly 30 years. Hopefully back even better than ever in 2024
V.
Such an incredible roller coaster only reason I did not rate five stars is due to it was the only roller coaster in Alton towers hat hurt my back a bit but apart from that of flawless ride.
P. B.
Loved this ride, was my favourite but then the Smiler took over 👍
C. K.
Has a slight rattle, but the downwards helix tries to rip your shoes off. Overall very intense but slightly rough!
K.
My favourite rollercoaster that never disappoints! Queue time was originally 45 minutes, but it definitely felt alot shorter at 25 minutes or so. Ride goes at about 60mph if I were to hazard a guess. Lots of twists, turns and loops. I definitely miss the red water that used to run down the forage but other than that, it's a classic white knuckle ride!
R. T.
Still one of the best rollercoasters in the park, happily pay the entrance fee just to ride the Nemesis 👍😎
H. C. M.
Absolutely brilliant hadn’t been on it for 25 years still a great ride to go on queue wasn’t even that long
G. B. S.
Absolutely amazing ride, at first was a bit nervous but it turned out so good especially in the loops and spirals, had a blast and definitely one of if not the best rides in the UK.
R. R.
Despite being one of the older rollercoasters at Alton towers, this was my favourite. Just the right mix of thrill and fear. I just wish it lasted a little longer
M.
It's been years since I last went on Nemesis but it is still as good as I remember and such a good ride! Still a must if you're visiting Alton Towers
R. W.
Still one of the best rides at Alton Towers. It will be closed from the end of October 2022. Hopefully it will be refurbished ready for new season.
T. J.
One of my favourite rides,
A must do if you are at Alton towers, a bit differently to the other rides.
J. G.
The ques are short the ride is long it's one of the best inverted coasters out there and the theming is great
C. A.
It was my first ever loop ride and l was scared of the loops before I went on but loved it after I got it done with
H. 1.
Love this ride. Can't wait for it to open again after its refurbished
S. W.
Great rollercoaster. All my blood to my feet made me feel wobbly after. Awesome 👌🏻
R. Y.
Nemesis is a intense ride but I'm sad to see it closed 😔 I would go on it when It reopen in 2024
K.
The Nemesis is a brilliant ride from start to finish it will make you smile. The forces are amazing especially on the back row.
R. G.
It's a classic, the ride i always go on twice if the lines short enough. Nemisis is a fastpaced fun coaster with plenty of loops and turns to get the blood pumping. Even in our modern day with so much simulation this old ride still has the ability to wow and thrill it's guest, and that's amazing.
All wrapped together with what I think is the coolest theme, Riding around the body of this huge alien creature. There's really nothing quite like it.
B. S.
Amazing rollercoaster, designed by the legend John Wardley. It was a big challange to keep the coaster below three level, but with some dynamite, you can remove the some rockwork. It is an pretty old B&M inverted coaster. Infact, the 2nd one ever build. But many fans consider this as one of the best ones ever build. I do agree!
A. H.
One of the best rollercoasters in the country. Originally built in 1994 - Features a top speed of 50mph and 4 inverted loops with lots of twists and turns. Fantastic theming around the ride and very fast throughput on riders means small que times even in peak.
100% just ride once as you will keep coming back for more.
A. K.
My favourite ride. 25 years old and still as good as when I first went on
j. t.
Great ride although it's being shutdown on the 6th November
C. F.
Great views
You really think your legs are going to crack against the rocks your falling into a tunnel and back out again
A. B.
Still one of the best coasters in the UK.
Would guess depending what time you go the queue can vary massively but went around 16:00ish and we were pretty much straight on.
Went with my 11yo who at 142cm was "pumped" for the months building up to it when she realised was over 140cm.
2022 - Update.... This is still one of the best rollercoasters in the World!
J. W.
Really memorable coaster. A living legend of twists and drops. 1.4m to ride.
Z.
To everyone who is looking a reviews before going
Queue - The reviews may make the ride seem like a waste of time, but if you go into the park at opening (no 2nd day required to get there an hour early) and then walk straight to it (no waits) from my own experience you can get around 2 rides front row where the queue is less than 5 minutes, after this it seems to go up to 20 minutes but if you want another ride its worth the while.
Bumpiness/shake - The shake from the ride doesn't feel all too extensive, and even when it gets bumpy, its usually in a spot where it blends into the ride in a perfect way that fits with it amazingly
Intensity - I have never ridden too many thrillers, only theme park I've been to and ridden wicker, 13 and some other lesser rides. Found it intense, but it was absolutely amazing!
Front queue wait times - Absolutely worth it, the ride is a lot worse without front row but is still a blast, my first ride was a 4th row I think and it made me feel dizzy afterwards (I do have motion sickness but its mild) Front row completely gets rid of the dizziness.
Ride feeling (spoilers or for the ones who are scared to ride) -
start, first ride is probably one of the scariest parts of the ride going up the short lift hill gives an amazing feeling of fear.
Drop, the coaster gets off the chain into a surprisingly fast dip, everyone screams and then it goes into a 1/2 second slightly steeper segment. This part of the ride then quickly shoots you up into the air into a thrilling corkscrew. After this it quickly takes you forward into a sharp right turn. It then goes forward again and absolutely skyrockets you into another corkscrew (scariest part of the ride in my opinion) It then goes forward, turns into a airtime loop. It then does a few more turns and then goes into the station (you will hear people cheering and saying the ride was amazing, no need to thank me)
Photo position - Worse spot ever (the scariest part), you will get amazing photos (or terrible)
Overall rating - 9/10
Queue - 9/10 (very short)
Restraints - 8.5/10 (not as good as lap bars but still comfy)
Actual ride 9.5/10 (amazing)
The overall reviews really do show
T.
Nemesis Is A Truly Unique Invert. The Terrain Interaction Makes The Ride So Much More Thrilling. The Layout Is Intense And The Ride Itself Is Still Running Well Considering It Was Built In 1994. Make Sure Not To Miss This Ride.
D. G. (.
Even after 28 years I still love this coaster. Definitely in my top 2 in the world lol
E. C.
Nemesis is an iconic ride, and after all these years it still packs a punch and feels glass smooth.
M. R.
Nemesis is as good as I remember it! Great ride and the queues are so much shorter now .
P. H.
One of my favourite rides, such a good thrill!
X.
By far the best coaster at Alton towers, always has been my favourite, and always will be. It's located at the back of the park near Air and it's a decent ride the best way to get there is to walk down the haunted holo path to duel or to get the cable cart from near rita as it's a decent walk to get there from the entrance. Best coaster in the UK
E. H.
Great ride and amazing friendly staff especially Ben who really was fab with my boys
h. p.
One of the best rides at alton towers would go on again and nice staff
D. W.
Great ride, got there early and there was barely any queue
R. O.
Really good ride. Only downside is that the last part of the trip you hit your head quite bad. I actually felt a bit concussed haha. Otherwise is fantastic, recommended.
D. C.
Glad I went and was able to ride it one last time.
p. b.
Love this ride just needs a lick of paint and a tidy up
L. H.
Was great but watch what line you go into as you enter we stupidly joined wrong queue and ended up on front of the ride 🤦♀️🤣
R. “. D.
A really fun intense roller-coaster. A must ride
K.
Amazing use of the terrain, including water and rocks. Constant full speed adrenaline experience.
j. H.
No social distancing in nemesis queue and l was called an idiot when I asked the person behind to wait on his marker. Please keep asking people to stand back or we will have a spike and the park may have to close again.
C. G.
Absolutely brilliant ride one of the best ever
P. S.
Thrill ride amongst several. Alton Towers is always a good day (or two) out, with several stomach churning rides for the faithful....
Today happens to be Good Friday 2022, and it's relatively quiet - perhaps everyone is queuing at the airport's trying to get some Easter sun! Haven't stood for more than 30mins for a ride so far....that's a win in my book!
J. D.
I do recommend sitting in the back and regards nemesis being closed 5 out of 5
Y. G.
It was an amazing experience. I love it and I highly recommend to everyone who wants to have a lot of fun.
M. J.
Cannot believe this is one of the oldest if not the oldest ride now! Still holds up!
R. C.
It was my first time visiting Alton Towers today and Nemesis was the first ride I went on. I was really impressed by the ride. Definitely one of the best rollercoasters I’ve been on and I’ve been to theme parks over in the states. An absolute classic with it being 25 years old! This coaster does not disappoint.
H.
awesome. totaly worth it even when my dad told me a white lie just so id go onto it.
T.
This ride is intense
The ride is intense but it is worth it. It’s one of the rides you can get on over and over again but never gets boring. The coaster is inverted but that doesn’t make it a bad coaster. It makes it more exciting.
If you ever get the chance then please ride it, it is a truly incredible experience
E.
It was brilliant for the first time riding it ever at Alton Towers it was definitely not for the faint of heart
A. J.
Amazing roller coaster from B&M, smooth intense transitions and inversions! Best roller coaster on the park and a top ten roller coaster in the world!
S. L.
1st ride I went on when I got in there and picked up where I left off 18 yrs ago - still really cool!
M. M.
I really enjoyed the ride whilst I was on it, it threw me around but overall a very good ride. However, and I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else recently but my shoulders really hurt after the ride. They were in an immense amount of pain and it meant I could not ride any other rides that day.
D. G.
Getting old and shutting for refurbishment in November 22, will reopen 2024. Good fun though
E. R.
Interesting place,my family had lot of fun, just didn't liked that there wasn't enough points to fill refreshments....
N. C.
Still a great ride after all these years
A. R.
Great terrain coaster inside a big hole. I’d wait for the front, there’s awesome scenery that the coaster travels through.
S. A.
Shame it's closing. Such a fantastic ride.
L. W.
Awesome ride!! My boys first "proper" rollercoaster with loops, he loved it!!
S. P.
Great ride. Shame it's closing
M. V.
Classic ride!
Still one of the best there is
K.
First inverted coaster I ever rode all those years ago, and it has withstood the test of time. It's intense yet smooth, and very well themed. Nothing else I could want from a coaster :)
H. P.
Last ride before it is getting a major overhaul. I will be back to ride it again
M. G.
Love this ride! Still a world class coaster built by B&M 26 years on! It's so smooth and thrilling. Here's a Top tip ride it later in the day, Nemesis warms up through the day and it becomes more intense it's fantastic!!
K. H.
Love this ride, went on twice.
R. M.
First proper rollercoaster I've been on & loved it! The wait wasn't too bad at 20 min, my only moan was it's not longer!!
M. Y.
This is one of the rides I like more than others.
J. A.
Closing soon so best get on it. Brilliant, not another like it. 😁
E. F. D.
Nemesis has been my all time favourite since it opened. Riding it in the dark was amazing definitely a must for any coaster fans
T. T.
Still one of the best rides there.
J.
We have been on this ride many times and never get bored of it even quite often when the queue is not to bad we go a few times in a row . This ride certainly is one of the best in Alton Towers and I even would say in the UK. Incredibly fun to ride. It is unbelievable that 25 years old ride still gives such a great experience.
T. R.
Best ride in the park by a mile. Always has been and probably always will be. Having ridden many roller coasters across the world I have to say that Nemesis is one the most intense and has one of the best layouts out there. And it's still running smooth. Top drawer!
K. H.
Great ride. And it's not that scary as it looks. Rode it three times in a row when there were no queues.
D. L.
What can I say great in 1994, still great 2022.
F. B.
Recommended for all the family as this ride is not tall or scarry if your kids don't want to go on it there are some children's rides in the area and if you want them to go on it then you can say to them if you like it you can do it again and if you don't like it then you don't have to do it again by the way it is in forbidden Valley
L. A.
An absolutely wonderful ride, the age of it hasn't changed the experience at all!
P.
Best ride in the park. The queue never feels long either.
P. A.
One of the best rides at Alton!
A. C.
My all time favourite ride. Always make a beeline for this first.
S. M. F.
Just the bestest place on earth love it obviously bar Florida 👍😜
G. T. P.
Amazing ride, definitely one of the best Coasters in the country. Well themed fast paced and intense ride. Still my favourite in the park. And often has a pretty short queue, particularly early in the day.
S. K.
Years later it is still one of the most thrilling rides at Alton Towers. Hopefully it stays for years to come!
S. J. H.
A great adrenaline fueled ride . Fantastic.
D. A. S.
Classic ride still the beast today like it was when it was first there
T. D.
One of the best rides in the park.
D. G.
One of the best rollercoasters in the UK.
S. B.
One of the oldest rides in the park but truly a classic. Still a favourite and a must do when visiting Alton Towers. Could maybe do with a touch of paint, but all in all its definitely one of the best rides in the country
G. F.
This ride never gets old for me, I started the day off with this one today and would highly recommend starting your day with this rollercoaster for super short queues and an adrenaline rush to kick start your experience. Keep your head pressed back against the seat for my favourite stomach churning drops as well as loops and twists for the best experience.
K. A.
Still one of my all time favourite rides at Alton towers
K. E.
Just such a long wait wernt paying the fast past on top
P. P.
My friend announced he was gay on this ride
C.
As a roller coaster enthusiast I have to say this ride is amazing nemesis is such a classic ride and it still packs a punch this is a must ride when visiting and alton towers wouldn't be the same without it
R. V.
An absolute classic! Exciting, fun and all the other positive stuff a great roller coaster instills in you. Worth waiting for the front for the best experience as walls etc fly at you only to be avoided at the last second. My favourite roller coaster by a long way since I first rode it years ago and each return visit doesn't disappoint. My eldest now loves it too.
M. l.
The original coaster which never fails to impress! Ageless!
L. H.
Absolutely amazing roller-coaster!!!
R. P.
Never fails to please, I've been on this ride countless times since it first opened back in 1836 (?) and I always love it. Still holds its own against many of the newer attractions, best coaster of this type in the country:-)
A.
Good fun ride, a little outdated compared to others in the park but still holds well for a thrilling ride.
As some people have side try to keep your head back for first time riders it can get a bit rough if you're not expecting what's coming up.
This is good for time filling as ques are usually short probably 20-25 minutes, always a good shout to go on if Galactica is closed or over 40 minutes.
A. T.
When I heard that Nemesis is 25 years old I almost couldn't believe it! It's absolutely incredible that a 25 year old ride is without a doubt one of the best coasters EVER! The elements and inversions on this inverted roller coasters are very surprising and thrilling. The best thing about it is that it is one with nature, it feels as if you're flying through the trees and waterfalls!
D. Y.
I LOVED this ride. Nemeses is an off ground ride and holds up to 35 people per cart. It goes pretty fast and upside down. The queue can take up to 2 hrs and the ride 1 min but the wait is worth it. The height restrictions minimum is 1.40 (140mm) and the maximum 1.95 (195mm)
K. B.
Wild and reckless, this ride is definitely not for the faint of heart. The forces are very intense and provides an exciting experience. Separate queue for front seat which is a bonus and queue seems to be overall very short to wait in. Looks like the ride area interior needs a bit of a revamp though. Its looking rather old.
p. t.
My favourite ride in the park, as your suspended from above. Lots of twist loop and barrel rolls.
W. B.
Phenomenal ride. I would advise first-time riders to wait for the front and keep their heads back as most other rows (from my experiences) can be a bit rough. By far the most intense ride at the park.
L. B.
Amazing ride, one of my top rollercoasters. Real shame the ride operator's and staff let the whole experience down. They need to take a good look at Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park. The operator's and staff are first class. Best customer service in the UK.
J. B.
Very fast ride brilliant
A. R.
Amazing ride , staff was amazing
F. C.
Sit in the middle it so much better x
W. B.
A classic ride that still holds up well against the newer rides around.
D. M.
Like many others have said, this is a great ride considering its age! Could do with a bit of love in the theme department as there really isn't one and the music is dull and barely audible. Maybe a jungle theme could be a good idea considering there is a lot of plant growth around the ride!
I do agree with people taking a word of caution in keeping their heads back on the ride, and a notice to passengers before boarding would probably be worthwhile. This issue affects the smaller sibling Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park too!
k. h.
Line was quite quick. Especially compared to other rides
R. V.
The most intense roller coaster experience hands down. Incredible how it just gets better with age. Always been one of my favourites and deservedly many people's top coaster in Europe or the world
A. H.
This is probably still one of the best rides in the park. Over 25 years old and it still holds up really well. Because it's an older ride too, the queue is usually reasonably short.
R. D. S.
must ride! soooo much fun don’t expect airtime expect intensity sunning ride over all you don’t even feel like your going upside down it’s very fast but compared to wicker man it doesn’t feel that fast even though it is faster than wicker man over all must ride 5/5
R. K.
The OG ride of Alton towers! We rode it 5 or 6 times on our visit. So much fun at day or night!
C.
Absolute phenomenal coaster, it's 25 years old and still untamable. It's still running like a beauty and is a great coaster if you like intense rides and inverted. The theming is excellent and the station is great being shaped as nemesis. You enter the station and your heart is pounding. If you go front row you feel like your feet are about to bash against the rocks and provides a much less intense experience. More to the back is where the intensity kicks in. Going over the first inversion at a quite slow speed and getting dragged along over to the helix as the feet banging really starts. After that you are whipped into a 0 g roll over the station what makes me see stars to this day. You are then pushed into a fast turn around section, yet again feeling like your feet are going to bash into the rocks, then into a very intense loop and then go storming into a tunnel when shortly after twisting and turning you are sent into another inversion before turning around into the breakrun. This ride is for the audience who love intense and thrilling experiences. I love it and if you are afraid of your restraint coming undone you can rest asure there is a seatbelt holding it down if it does come undone. Overall it's a great ride and will always be re-ridable due to the unknown nature of this ride.
A. B.
This year is the first year I've managed to get my 10-year-old son onto nemesis believe it or not it now is favourite ride
D. G. R.
Best ride ever
O. M.
Nemesis has been my favourite rollercoaster for about 20 years now. The corkscrews, loops and g-force you get keep it a thrilling ride and, best of all, nowadays the wait times are pretty short as it's one of the older attractions.
P. D.
Maybe the best rollercoaster in the UK? Definitely one of the best and only made better by riding in the dark! Definitely something any coaster fan needs to add to their bucket list. Front row is essential
G. S.
Still after all this time , this ride still is up there with the best thrill rides out there !!
Would be in my top three in the country , I originally went on it the first week it opened and it blew my mind then and it still does that now . 👍👍👍
D. N.
What is there to say about this classic B&M invert. Still one of the best coasters in the world. Often overlooked so the queues tend to be reasonable when all the other rides are very busy.
M. D.
Really jarred my neck on this ride within 3 seconds of it starting. Don't go on this ride if you have any history of neck complaints. Having said that, all my kids went on this ride more than any other.
A. 1.
"The Worlds Most Intense Ride Experience".. While that may no longer hold true, this intense inverted coaster is one to be amazed at. 25 Years Old, but still not extremely rough, and still has an immense kick. One of the best roller coasters in the UK without a Doubt. Designed by John Wardley, It is incredible in every way. Incredible theming! Only problem is I slightly banged my head coming into the brake run, leaving me with a slight headache.
A. C. (.
I love this ride so much. It's a classic. I am begging you though PLEASE just put some padding where our heads hit against the restraints. My ears hurt and I have a headache. Fab coaster but it can end up quite painful.
R. Q.
It's a classic but it's still great. Plenty of twists and turns
T.
Amazing Ride!! It Is 24 Years Old And Still Is An Amazing Fun Ride!! Very Forceful Over The Zero G Role And The Downwards Helix!! Even 24 Years On It’s Amazing!!
I. L. B. C.
I Was Only Just Tall Enough This Year My Dad And My Two Sisters Got A Laugh Out Of Me Screaming My Picture Was Hilarious But Never Screamed Again! Great Theme And Ride Although The Queue Can Get A Bit Out Of Hand Sometimes And It's Probably The Most Enjoyable Ride There! :) To Also Remember I Got A Statue Of Nemesis I Don't Care If I Wasted £8.00 Still AWSOME!
M. B.
Sit back it's fright time! The best and oldest operating rollercoaster at Alton Towers! Nearly 30 years young and running just as well (if not better) as the day it opened!!
d. p.
Still a great ride.
K. H.
Epic suspended coaster. Quite intense compared to all the other Alton Towers coasters.
Z. H.
Almost 30 years old and it's still got it :3
K. P.
Definitely the best ride at Alton towers(and the best in the UK, probably the best invert in the world). To think Nemesis was built on 1994 is crazy, the ride is smooth as butter and still runs intense to this day!
S. B.
Always a pleasure coming back
A. S.
The benchmark to compare all other rollercoasters against
j. h.
Ride good but was called an idiot when I asked some behind to social distance
S. M.
Opened in 1994. The same year as the Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. These two rides were the pinnacle of ride design at the time. Both were fantastic and still are two of the best rides in the Country. Nemesis went for innovation. First hanging coaster built in a huge hole in the ground blasted out of the rock. This added greatly to the theming and the intensity. Which ride is better? Well at the time both were fantastic but very different. So I couldn’t choose back then. However nearly 25 years on I would say The Big One has the edge. That first drop is still pretty terrifying. Where as Nemisis doesn’t have the fear factor for me anymore. But it has the thrill factor in spades.
l. m.
Front row riding is not a must, absolutely fun ride laughed all the way around
M. S.
Still holds its own amongst the very best rides in the UK. Great theming and awesome ride experience.
J. S.
Amazing ride.
E.
Normally not fussed about riding in the front, But it's a must on this!!!!
Such a good ride!
W. G.
The best B&M invert in the world. Quite possibly my favourite ride. Short, snappy and very intense! Not for those who can't handle intensity.
N. T.
Still an awesome ride. Even better riding it front row in the dark.
J. D.
Nemesis is mental from start to finish. Love it. Not quite as good as Smiler but still one of the best rides at Alton Towers. Theming is great. Though you barely notice it zipping passed.
L. T.
Best rollercoaster ever.
S. o.
Man I got to give it five star , best ride at alton for sure , think it's almost 25 , hope for another 25 years of nemesis
N. W.
Still a great coaster after all these years!
L. G.
Fantastic ride! Had a great time :) I would say that there are definitely better ones in the park though
V. F.
It's thrilling ride and worth the wait in queue. I went with VR headset ride but it's rather a gimmick. It's ok if one is scared of height but VR in fact killed excitement and thrill that our body get from height and surroundings.
f.
Smooth and quick. You go so fast on the corners you don't even know where you are!!! If you are looking for a slower ride, yet smooth, try Thorpe park's Nemesis Inferno. A lot slower😄
P. R.
Great ride but needs work as it's a bit of a ride that throws you around
J.
Nemesis is a B&M invert coaster that will leave you feeling knocked off of your feet. It's a smooth ride but provides thrills and plenty of gforce. Even though is was opened in 1994 the coaster is clean and doesn't show much sign of wear and tear like some other coasters do. The theming for nemesis is one of the best in the park alongside X-Sector. If you're visiting Alton Towers be sure to give nemesis a chance, queue times are usually reasonable as it is placed far away from the park entrance alongside Galactica. It is also worth walking to the ride through the gardens on the yellow route, about a 20 minute walk to the ride.
C. S.
A great experience every time!!
A. D.
Top
J.
Yes. Just yes. This is my personal favourite.
B. O. B.
It may not be the fastest, or the tallest, or the most this or that... But it still remains a perfect rollercoaster experience. It is unrelenting from the moment it let's you go to the moment you hit the brakes.
J. W.
It’s a great ride, with lots of different sections. Very fast, with narrow loops and turns - big g forces.
G. B.
Perhaps still after all these years, the greatest coaster ever in Alton Towers. The speed, G's and sound of it, a truly unforgettable ride.
C. S.
My favourite ride
S. s.
This ride is AWESOME!!!!!
quick tip though, make sure you queue for the front seat rider, it is soooooo worth it trust me
F.
One of the UK's if not the world's greatest rides. It is a ride of pure euphoria speed and loops. One of my all time favourites. Ride if you get the chance.
S. S.
Amazing experience cannot stress enough how good this ride is amazing intense and a great coaster no matter how many rides you do
I. X.
Love the ride. The roar when you hear this beast is unforgettable😍 ride this coaster you won't regret it. A trip to alton towers this is a must ride!!!!!
m.
Such an amazing ride that doesn't get repetitive.
P. S.
Brilliant but feels a little short
J. V. (.
Still runs like a dream, one of the best in the world. Loads extremely efficiently with no ride staff - unsure why other rides have never stuck to this!
C. B.
Nemesis is as good now as it was in 1994, way ahead of its time. Hopefully it will still be running in 25 years time.
T.
Still one of the best coasters in the theme park despite its age
G. P.
Just insane. Crazy good.
R. M.
Good solid ride!
J. S.
Best rollercoaster other than smiler that I had time to go on! Even though 25 years old! Great fun
K. B.
My all time favourite ride ever since it first opened.
H. H.
Such an amazing ride. Absolutely incredible! Always a short and fast queue too!
A. B.
"Beauty and the Beast" - Nemesis is the Beast and it is a thing of Beauty
B. O. (.
Great ride, it's been years since I've been to the theme park. Enjoyed this ride.
M. R.
My 2nd favourite UK coaster, just behind Smiler
J. R.
One of the best rollercoaster I absolutely love it. Make sure I go on it at least once everytime!
S. C.
Still one of the best coasters in the UK.
A. F.
Excellent classic inverted roller coaster.
M. L.
Front row is well worth the extra waiting time.
P. W.
Always a great ride!! Still hasn't really been beaten by any Merlin site.
S. G. -. F. M.
A firm favourite, always in top 3 best rides at Alton Towers
M. S.
The greatest ride at alton towers by far! Fast, intense, well themed, and very smooth.
T.
Still one of the most intense rollercoasters out there. Sit on the front row for a great view, sit on the back row for some serious g-force.
E. d. y. m.
Best ride there in my opinion. The queue times are great as is the theming. Had to rejoin the queue as it was amazing!
J. J.
Never tire of this bad boy. After 20+ years you still get a rush. Its setting is unique, and it is still fun to ride...
G. 6.
I Love nemesis so much I would love to ride it again
A. J. (.
I went on this twice today and honestly loved the roar of its track :D
b.
25 years old, yet still as awesome
M. T.
An all time classic. Never fails to impress me. Rode this the first month it was there back in 1994 and it still has same effect now. Magic!
F. S.
Still the most brutal ride in the park. The way the track interacts with the landscape is simply brilliant, an absolute classic rollercoaster.
B.
It was alright but I wont be going on it again because I felt all floppy on it and it happened so fast I couldn't remember going upside down.but you never know you might like it so i would try it
B. M.
Possibly the best all round ride in the UK, let alone the park. When the queues are short, you could go on this all day.
R. J.
Cracking rollercoaster. I believe it was the first one where you hang off the track legs free to dangle. Great theme to the rollercoaster. An Alton Towers classic
C. C.
Awesome rollercoaster. Great terrain interaction, classic theme and still smooth and re-rideable. Can often shift a queue too!
L.
Absolutely incredible - barely any wait, fantastic ride, went on it 3 times in a row
r. M.
My daughter who's 10 loves this ride. Very intense but brilliant.
P. B.
Still one of the best rides ever! Once is never enough, got to go again!

P. F.

A. W.
Still an amazing ride, it's a must do every time we go to the park.
S. W.
The best ride I have ever ridden! After this you will feel like you can do anything!
Z. Y.
Great intensity but the ride is slightly bumpy and may leave you feeling slightly queasy when you get off
D. R.
One of the greats of the park, if you like rollercoasters this is a must ride - particularly good fun at scarefest in the dark
C. W.
An awesome rollercoaster! A very smooth ride and fantastic theming. It’s definitely worth queuing for the front!
J. H.
It may be chained, but it's still untamable.... 🎢🎢🎢
p. a. a. m.
A really good ride i rid it at front and had no issue would ride again
c. w.
My second favourite roller-coaster in the park (after Smiler) and a great experience.
M. W.
Absolute hell of a ride intense, fast and the g-force against your face is unreal. Good theming and polite oporator.
A. W.
In my opinion, one of the UKs oldest now, but still one of the very best. Front row or back row for the win.
T. P. F. W. W.
The best Rollercoaster in the Uk celebrates 25 years in 2019 and needs to be on everyones ride list
D. N. A.
Good ride but won't go on a bank holiday again very busy
N. O.
A brilliant ride from the queue line to the photo booth! Front row is definitely the best!

S. M.

A. H.
Plenty of G's pulled on this one

D. J.
One of the best coasters.. try it.. dont be like my gf and get to the front of the que and run away.
M. f. W. S. R.
In my opinion, the best rollercoaster in the UK. Worth the wait, worth the entry ticket, worth it all.

One of the best Rollercoasters I've ever been to
R. L.
So very very good.
M. G.
Thrilling ride!! More than worth the wait in the queue!
Most definitely worth more than one trip round on it.
J. R.
One of the best experiences on this planet. With all the near misses and clever uses of inversions, B&M did a fantastic job.
