Reviews of Carn Llechart Stone Circle & Cairn
Really nice site although the circle is low to the ground and the stones are not very high.
It took a little while to find it but google maps on my phone got me to the spot. It can get hidden from view in the undergrowth but is worth the time to find it.
Parking is fine as well:
To get there:- When entering the village of Rhyd Y Fro with the "Traveller's Well" pub on your right-hand side, take the turning left just past the pub. Go up the hill on the small farm track until you pass over a cattle grid. A little way after this is a sharp hairpin bend to the left, take this up the hill further.
Next, there is a right-hand hairpin turn with a larger tuning space. Here you can park or just a little way further up the hill there is an entrance to the hill with a yellow grit box on the right-hand side, you could park here also.
Take a walk through this entrance by the grit box with the wall on your left and then follow the wall until a 90 degrees around to the left. At this point it in in front of you on the hilly scrubland.
It's rather small. But great views. Worth to take short walk.
Lovely views of corn du and swansea bay and surrounding mountains
Just go... Most under rated stone circle in the UK... Magnificent tomb next to it, the place is alive! You didn't even know that you needed to go but when you get there you will know why you needed to...
Very good circle, but not the easiest to find
Lovely views all around and a great bit of history. Now to do my own research about it.
Always a special place to visit.
It's relatively easy to reach and has a real sense of ancient power.
Beautiful and quiet location. Worth a visit
Some cool views over Swansea and Mawr. Sttone Circle quite interesting, not very impresive but still nice to admire. No information board and a bit demanding to find
Amazing historical place with fantastic views 🙏🏴 …
Lovely small stone circle with a chamber a stones throw away
Little slippery in August wear hiking boots
It’s a short walk from a lay-by you can park at
Easy to find
Where the last light of Durins day falls upon the mountain.
Fabulous place in a great location but a little tricky to find.
Magical. The energy and vibes are spine tingling. Not for the faint hearted. Beware of the Tylwyth Teg
Magical
It was great but a devil to find, worth the effort
Magical, little known, soggy
Beautiful views
So nice and quiet
Stones. In a circle. Whats not to like?
