K.Lovely small national trust property. The trees lining up to the property are spectacular, and the grounds are wonderfully kept. The house is small but full of character, and the guides really brought the property and people who lived their to life with fascinating stories and artefacts. Would definitely return again.

Loved the chickens in the garden 🐔 (they had chickens when it was a family home). Don't miss the Daimler in the bubble (see picture) really super 🚗. Very good amount of information pannels. Great flowers🌹, vegetables 🥕 and lawn area in the garden. The children loved running around. Would recommend a visit.
I.A lovely little NT gem, untouched over time, if it’s this nice on a chilly Feb day it must a delight in the summer ! Great way to see how a Victorian Villa was run in the day (if you could step back in time). Nice looking little tea room but we didn’t use. Reasonable grounds which originally were twice the size but sold off over time. House currently undergoing re-wiring so some of the rooms are partially covered in dust sheets etc but can still get the idea of how grand they were. Surprising how free you can roam and how many original items are placed out for your interest throughout the house. Bit of a guided talk in the servants quarters and then you’re left to roam the house, very knowledgeable guides on hand throughout.
M.A beautiful Edwardian house. You can see the upstairs and the backstairs.... Money was everything. The staircase and skylight are unique - worth a visit just to see those. I recommend the 40min guided tour.... there were just four of us with Angela, a really knowledgeable guide. Fascinating! Enjoying tea and cake on the veranda was really quite special.... The gardens are just beautiful. Parking is free - and entry at £7.80 is worth every penny.
A. B.A Victorian house built by brewing magnate in the mid 1800s and later owned by Mary Jane Slaney, a very wealthy widow who extended the house and doubled its size to what is there at the present time. The house remained tenuously in the family until it was give to the National Trust in the 1990s together with all its contents. The avenue of Seqioa trees along the driveway is a stunning approach to the house. The Trust offers a short introductory talk in the billiard room before you are free to explore the house yourself. The volunteer guides are very happy to explain the separate rooms as you tour around the house. There is a small tearoom offering drinks, sandwiches and cakes. There are also greenhouses and a large garden to investigate, with croquet and other Victorian games available to use.
A. C.Absolutely lovely house. Local volunteers are very knowledgeable. Some rooms were unfortunately not available to view but we were told that they may be open at a different time. Visited in December and the house was decorated with lovely decorations and Christmas trees.

L. R.This is a little gem. It's not the biggest of places but it's very unique. The house and contents, and there's a lot has been left as it was. So you really get a feel for the family who lived there. Like a said a little gem worth a visit for sure.
There's no tea room though, although hopefully they will be working on that aspect.

N. D.This is not one of the Trust's large grand houses but is well worth a visit. The rooms are full of interest and the entire place had a wonderful ambience. The volunteers were knowledgeable and gave you those wonderful snippets of information you would not get from reading. Nice tea rooms as well. It was a very wet day when we visited so we didn't see a lot of the garden but the avenue of trees to the house was quite a sight.

F. W.Lovely gardens for a walk on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't go inside the house this time, keeping that for a rainy day. Tea room nice and quaint, some seating outside on the terrace too. You can play croquet and bowls on the lawn area. Lovely secondhand bookshop and there are also plants for sale too.
D. H.We went to Sunnycroft a number of years ago a lovely garden .Interior of the house lovely with the obligatory tea room with garden and a orchard to mirander around. Not a large garden or house but well worth a visit for avid NT members or first timers.

S. K.I have lived in Wellington for 15 years and I live about ten minutes walk away from here and I've never visited until today. Really glad I did. I took my daughter and grandchildren and we all enjoyed it immensely. The history of the place is very interesting. ALL the staff were very helpful and answered questions readily. We had a cream tea in the tea shop which was lovely. Tea served in a proper teapot! Cups and saucers and sugar cubes were and added bonus to the experience 😍

M. J.Be careful as sat nav will lead you astray. Lovely house. Interesting interior. At last a Victorian who didn't model their home in a ghastly Gothic style. Has a story to tell. Friendly staff . Adequate parking. Probably not a lot to do for children. Bet the grounds look good in the sun. We will go again as we went during storm Dennis. Nice to see servants quarters. A good place to spend a morning or an afternoon immersed in a world long gone. A quieter property.
D. R.Visited Sunnycroft today. What a little gem. The grounds are pretty and laid out it the traditional manner. The house is interesting with all sorts to see and experience. The staff were very well informed, curtious and polite. We ended our visit with a good cup of tea and a delicious slice of lemon drizzle cake. Well worth a visit.

Great touch with the huge Christmas tree inside and the Carol singers made the festive feel complete. Did also notice a children's interactive activity running throughout the house also.
L. H.A small national trust property which is free to members. The car park is not very big but is free. Inside the building is a medicine cabinet that contains a number of treasures from the past. The building tells stories of the past. When we visited at Christmas there was a choir singing beautiful Christmas songs.
S. A.This is a beautiful little estate house, with all the original features and contents, that shows what a lady with vision and money was able to create. But there are lots of stories and the most poignant is the last owner who left the house to the NT. Well worth a visit - the volunteer guides were passionate story tellers too.
M. W.A quiet Oasis in the town of Wellington Shropshire. the gardens are exquisite very pleasant walk around the building has a long history and is well looked after by the National Trust custodians. There's a small simple cafe that serves sandwiches and cakes tea and coffee but nothing complicated. The cafe is a little cramped but on a nice day you can sit outside they also sell plants and other haha does a second-hand bookshop of the back also. Nice to visit if you're or in Wellington and want somewhere to relax I doubt very much if they would object you taking a picnic with you for lunch providing you didn't leave a mess.

V. C.Went to do the Easter Egg trail in April with my daughter and granddaughter. Very friendly and informative and knowledgeable staff. Loved the history and the gardens are beautiful. A lot bigger than i realised, all tucked away. Lots of events all year round. Lovely. Would definitely go again.
P. S.Really interesting history of the family that owned the property so go for the longer guided tour. Impressive tree lined drive leading to the house set in modern suburbia but surrounded by gardens.
G. “. K.Great place. Surprised how big it is. A country estate in miniature. Driven past lots even though I'm local thinking it would be a small house. Wrong. Great staff. Well worth a visit. In their garage is a Daimler car with the first registration number issued in Shropshire: AW1. Nice food. Relaxing place.
M. S.Nice quiet spot, there's tea room with cakes but not much more in terms of food. But you don't go for the food - you go for the sunny lawn and small peaceful garden. A perfect spot for a lazy afternoon.
r. s.This is one of the smaller houses but very nice and quite interesting. Small cafe good food. Tends to be not too busy so is peaceful to walk round.

J.While only small for a National Trust property it's packed to the rafters with history, we took our children (7 and 3), the children enjoyed hunting for little knitted rabbits through out the property as part of an activity, the information boards in each room were interesting and laid out in a unique way, which helped catch the eye and draw you in before you had even read the 1st sentence. the gardens had a air of the secret garden in places which my eldest son found magical, and on the lawn there were games set up, which the children had great fun playing with.
P. C.Great place to look around and full of history. The national trust have done a fantastic job and the staff provide you with a wealth of information to bring the place alive. Games to play on the lawn and gardens to walk through. Well worth a visit
T. S.A rare opportunity to view the recent past. See how the upper / middle classes lived, survived and changed following the two world wars. Enjoy the magnificent tree lined avenue with enormous trees either side. Meet the very well informed and friendly National Trust volunteers to show you around. End the visit with tea and cake overlooking the garden.
P. C.It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The volunteers are able to give plenty of interesting information about the house and it's occupants, and may even encourage you to try a little bit of lace making.

J. C.Not a mega stately home but somewhere you can relate to and of a period where you can say "my gran used to have one of those". The guides were very encouraging to younger children (a bit of a novelty for the NT). I'd love to have their traditional smallish English garden.
J. a.Lovely gentlemans villa to look around with lots of original contents. garden with some wild bits and nice big greenhouses. Nice tearoom and in summer there are some children's games on lawn. Also second hand book shop. Gift shop. Deckchairs to borrow to sit on out side. More of the house has been opened up Dec 16. Small car park. Public carpark near by. In a the town but doesn't feel like it once you are in the grounds.

L. B.Wow, wow and wow. There is an amazing Tea Room within the house, a must stop. Located in the market town of Wellington, Shropshire, England, and owned by the National Trust as one of their more unusual properties.
Suburban villas were almost 'country estates in miniature' that attempted to emulate upper classmansions on a middle class budget. Many have either been modernised, renovated or refurbished out of recognition over the last 60 years or so or have been demolished and replaced with later housing, converted into offices or residential care homes, or have been broken up into flats and smaller residences.
