Reviews of Museum of Royal Worcester
D. S.
A thoroughly pleasing experience. Excellent staff, wonderfully welcoming. Could spend upwards of 2-3 hours wandering through a superb display of the glory years of Worcester porcelain. Very good range in the shop. Would recommend even to those without a previous interest in such a subject.
S. H.
Beautiful examples of Royal Worcester porcelai from the 1800's to the oresebt day. Incredibly interesting and informative. Highly recommend visiting!!
T. D.
Very interesting, lots to see and read as you walk around. There is a lift if required.
There is also a lovely cafe opposite the museum. You can sit outside or inside. Toilets were clean and well kept.
Staff were polite and friendly.

I’m not a museum lover, but was pleasantly surprised by this excellent and informative history of Royal Worcester. The audio tour provides an excellent background to the displays. The shop is interesting and offers some great gift ideas.
K. W.
Love this place and the ladies there are amazing, helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back and see them again. Went above and beyond for me to get a beautiful coffee set. Thank you to all of them especially Tracey. ❤️
G. D.
The pieces on display are amazing and the free audio guide is a great enrichment of the experience. I left the museum with a big smile on my face.
R. P.
If you like porcelain this is a great place to visit. The history of the local industry and the quality of the product are very well presented.
J. B.
This was a really interesting museum, even for a non pottery buff. Fair price to get in, nice shop at the end. Well set out, nice explanations on the displays. Would recommend to anyone visiting Worcester.
V. B.
Wonderful museum that really gives you an appreciation of the incredible skill of royal Worcester. Easily accessible from the city centre with plenty of parking, resteraunts, and shops. The audio guide doesn't match the museum, but as the new museum has only been open a month, they are currently experiencing a change over period as the new guide is being produced. That being said it is worth using the guide as there is plenty of interesting information and makes you really look at the pieces on display.

Fabulous museum
Fabulous staff
I am partially disabled and a very helpful young lady who's name I didn't catch unfortunately, went the extra mile to find me a wheelchair so that my partner and I could both enjoy the fantastic displays on offer
A Fabulous couple of hours made so much better with the help of the young lady on reception who could not do enough to help us
See you again when we are next in Worcester

A must see museum in the heart of worcester. Spread over two levels covering three historical periods there are stunning displays, informative written information, lovely interactive activities for children and a very interesting audio guide that is included in the price. Staff were polite and helpful and genuine royal worcester pottery is available in the shop at prices to fit all budgets. There is also lift access. Spent nearly three hours there !

We didn't go around the Museum, but we did buy some items from their shop, the lady who served us could not have been more helpful. 5 stars
J. W.
Great to see the types of items that are shown on antique shows for real the colours are so much more vivid.
A. D.
A real must with a complete history of Worcester pottery, some excellent exhibits
C. M.
Lovely museum, very welcoming staff
V. M.
I've lived in worcester all my life and I've never gone to see this museum but I've finally did and I was really surprised how much history we have and the pieces of beautiful porcelain that was made at Royal Worcester . I totally recommend to anyone to go and see and look round this museum . Plus they do workshops to create your own little pieces of pottery, ideal to take little ones along . There is a great cafe as well to go and have a coffee after to .
H. J.
Very interesting, we learned a lot and they had some interactive exhibits.
C. B.
Inexpensive museum, very interesting. Wasn't that excited about porcelain, but enjoyed. Some pieces here are astounding in their craftsmanship. Free audioguide added more useful information. Nice to celebrate the heritage of the city.
A. H.
great collection of works, would definitely recommend a visit for any potters
A. F.
Gorgeous museum with friendly lovely staff! Great day out - and loving the new ceramic studio too!
H. P.
Five pound well spent, the museum is well set out with lots of different styles and designs and using the electronic guide is a bonus to learn more, only down side is the steps down to the exit. There is a lift to take you up a floor but not down. If you like royal worcester this is an eye opener on all the different styles. Worth a visit
P. W.
Only went to the museum to please the wife. But really surprised! Was most impressed by all the Victorian stuff. Well worth a visit.
L. R.
Attended a business event at the Museum. Very professional and comfortable venue.
V. O.
Amazing porcelain museum! You can see a lot of porcelain masterpieces from local factory!
I. C.
Really well laid out and informative exhibition based on the Dyson Perrin Collection and that of Royal Worcester themselves. This is independent of Royal Worcester themselves who have departed this town when it got taken over.
This is a comprehensive journey through the history of the firms and the changes in taste and clientele arranged in chronological order with introductory video and a free audio guide by John and Henry Sandon and Lars Tharp highlighting notable pieces.
There are are also displays centred around various individual artists like William Billingsley.
The gift shop ingeniously has some second hand copies of books now out of print along with the usual new books and other offerings.
C. G.
Worth a visit. It was both informative and interesting. The standard of the art work was incredible, like great paintings transfered onto fine porcelain. The attention to detail and the complexity - every time we thought we saw the best some thing even better was around the corner!
C. R.
Fascinating to learn the history of Royal Worcester pricelist
A most informative and interesting place to visit Leave plenty of time!
J. T.
A lot of really nice antique cups and plates etc. Not that big so not really worth £6 entry although quite a lot of nice history to look through if you're interested in them.
R. C.
Interesting place. It's a shame the tableware is no longer made here. My wife (an artist herself) would have love to have seen more detail about the process but it was interesting nonetheless
A. B.
Excellent presentation, informative and very interesting. We were in the area on holiday and it was an ideal place to learn about one of the major industries of Worcester. Covid 19 means you have to book but we'll worth the effort.
S. F.
Extremely interesting. Make sure you get an audio guide (free) as it brings the exhibits to life.
C. G.
A charming museum for porcelain fan. Beautiful examples of fine porcelain art, some pieces are really unique. The museum shop is also very nice. Recommended
C. W.
The enthusiasm displayed by the lady giving the talk was contagious and it was so interesting and informative. It was anything but boring. Now I fully appreciate the skill and number of people it takes to make a plate or teapot etc.
The artist who was painting on porcelain in the museum was amazing, he is so talented.
G. T.
Well worth a visit the borrowed free radio tour guide made it more interesting,we definitely go again when we visit Worcester 😀
B. N.
The money recently spent on restructuring this museum has not been wasted. The astonishingly beautiful artefacts produced at the factory have been lovingly displayed with biographies of the astonishingly talented people who produced them. Please go and see some wonders of human skill and ingenuity. I guarantee that you will not regret it.
N. C.
Fantastic collection that is superbly presented, worth five stars ... except that the exhibits only have catalogue numbers, no captions. Result: you have to consult the catalogue in each room, a catalogue to bulky to handle, so you have to go to and fro, to and fro: in the end I gave up! Great shame.
F. M.
Excellent museum. Interesting items with clear historical information provided. Thoroughly recommend it!
A. C.
I own a small collection of early and First Period Dr Wall Worcester Porcelain. The Museum was a wonderful experience for me, possibly because my special interest made it exciting, more so than for someone who has only a general interest. I found the exhibits well displayed and documented. I could have stayed all day to gaze! I visited in October 2014 for the first time, as living in Devon means the Museum is not on my doorstep, but I will certainly make a point of revisiting at every opportunity.
J. E.
More interesting and absorbing than I expected. The audio guides made all the difference. Spent 2.5 hours there and the time flew by.
M. G.
I've visited many times and love coming back - with so many ceramic delights, there's always something new to see.
E. W. S.
Elephant painting today which was great fun and the staff were friendly, such a shame that they dont get fired to protect them at the end.
M. D.
Wow! Really interesting seeing the history and loved the personal stories about certain pieces. The shop was very good too and decently priced. Wish we would have been able to see the workshop.
T. J.
Fantastic place with hints of British history woven elegantly into the brightly light displays which were filled with rich information which all the family enjoyed from ages 8 to 63 we had a truly fab time Thank you ever so much!!! Such polite and lovely staff
A. H.
Attended a seminar. Excellent venue

T. L. C. E.
We took some friends as they were visiting Worcester and we are so glad we did. Lovely place to visit and highly recommended. Impressive collection x
M. B.
As antique and porcelain lovers this was excellent. Pity the place doesn't have an in house cafe. It might attract more visitors and they might stay longer which we certainly did.
A. E.
We did the pottery painting upstairs and had such a lovely afternoon!
N. D.
Well worth a visit, has some fine examples on display and helpful knowledgeable staff.
M. R.
Fascinating insight into the artistic and creative breadth of porcelain and china, cups and saucers and plates and bowls, which can easily be overlooked and ignored. Some of the sculptural work is quietly stunning...
C. N.
Very nice museums, looks like recently refurbished. A pity that the audio guide is still not updated and it’s a bit of hit and miss.
A.
Shared the history in detail of their past, and a lovely array of beautiful artifacts.
S. M.
ok shop not busy for a Saturday. as l have been used to abroad they did not seem to have a clue to wrapping up lovely China pieces .no wrapping service bows ribbons even to pay for . It didnot come over as a material they had , there is enormous scope here for that service as that is all they sell .unless you buy a pre booked cup , that should improve .???
G. W.
A good Museum displaying a great array of Royal Worcester porcelain. Plus they let me take my dog (safely in a bag) through the museum.
A. W.
The pattern is old like anisly gold very nice
C. A.

D. L.
Excellent museum full of information on all things 'pottery '
S. W.
lovely museum . very nice ladie on reception on entrance very kind and helpful.
R. T.
An extremely well laid-out exhibition, with large cases which don't crowd the beautifully painted porcelain, in several very spacious rooms, taking us through the history of this world-famous china manufacturer from it's beginnings in the 18th century to the end of the 20th century. Show-stopping vases and ornaments made to win prizes at the 1851 Exhibition at the Crystal Palace in London and spread their fame throughout Europe and America; Japanese-influenced late Victorian domestic pieces; an historical display of teapots; 20th century figurines of people and animals: the museum is delightfully varied and thoughtfully representative.
M. M.
Visited the museum shop which has some stunning pieces but COVID measures meant staffing was very short and this assistance was a bit limited
L. A.
Great place to visit, the products are truly delightful, something there for all choices
J. Y.
Exquisite items, good history of porcelain and royal visits. Items for sale too. Worth a visit.
V. F.
Fantastic place, loaded with porcelain history. A must see, very well structured museum.

Dog friendly fab food & service
S. T.
Audio guide was good, but, could find all numbers and they do not flow. Great tea room across the way.
V. B.
Great displays and so much history to read about. Audio guide also really helpful.
L. N.
Sadly the porcelain factory is no longer there, the museum is with a small shop though, shame as it used to be a great shopping experience and a good choice of shops, a huge and sad loss! now the area is being built on. SHAME to loose such a quality porcelain supplier!!!
E. W.

(Translated) It seems that private collectors have more works for Sorang Yang. This is a place where you can learn the history of Royal Worcester. Moving to and from, consider 100,000 won round trip per person + nothing you can do all day long. The neighborhood is also gloomy.
