Reviews of Tudor House Museum
R. H.
It was free to enter when I visited with my 17 year old son. There is a lot to see across the five rooms over two floors. The building itself is a beautiful Tudor building that, like the area around it, defies the fact that it's in the middle of a city.
It was interesting to read about Worcester's history.
It is free to enter but there are donation boxes if you wanted to make a donation.
There is also a little cafe there (I didn't go in there so can't comment on it).
Tudor House Museum has a lot of narrow stairs so may be difficult/impossible for those with physical disabilities. However, the downstairs parts are accessible (although not very spacious).

A fine museum of the history of Worcester. Something about how people lived, how they worked, what they ate, how children were schooled.
Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers to answer questions.
W. R.
Informative and welcoming staffs, free entry, reasonable prices in tea room, lovely souvenirs. Highly recommended!

Really loved this free little museum. I really enjoy history so it was nice to really feel the history of this place. Very quick to view as well, so doesn't take up much of yeh day.

Great place to learn about the former occupants and the industrial history of Worcester. And also the role the building played in WW2. Venue may be closed on occasion when school parties visit. Check beforehand! Lovely coffee and cakes too!

Educational visit enjoyed both by adults and children alike esp the interesting outdoor machinery in backyard very authentic and the pre war kitchen brought back alot of memories for our residents giving lots of opportunities for reminiscing. Everyone enjoyed the weaving exhib and complete contrast of the old school dentist methods made some laugh and cry in jest. Lovely cafe and enthusiastic staff very helpful. Free entry

A little gem of a museum devoted to local Worcester history. Run by a dedicated band of lovely volunteers who have taken on the running of the museum over the last 15 years after council funding was withdrawn. They are all heroes! What a great place to spend an hour.

Free venue........
Great step back in time, not great if you are disabled, but if you can manage the steep stairs it's well worth it. Friars Street is filled with history if you take the time to look
S. K.
Brilliant, staff was very helpful, well worth a visit

Quite an interesting place to visit. Very nice staff that provide an interesting overview of the house's history.

A lovely museum in a building with a rich history. I highly recommend their talks - really interesting.
The cafe is lovely and well priced. The chocolate cake was particularly good!

An incredible little gem on friar street not to be missed when you visit Worcester, you will be met by informed volunteer's at the Door who will send you on a journey to past Worcester life. A great education tool for your children and a terrific memory jogger for the more mature visitor. Don't miss the Cafe it has a great history.

Free entry, may need to book but we couldn't as too close to arrival time, didn't matter. Bit of info about clothmaking in the city related to historic owners. Didn't find the building super interesting itself, but have been to a few Tudor buildings before. Worth a look anyway.
S. M.
Fantastic little find, free entry, donations welcome don't be tight😀. Chaps there have lots of knowledge. Fantastic structure, awesome to be in a building so well preserved, over 500yrs old👍
B. C.
Very interesting history about three houses (two to tour) on Friar Street Worcester, with most informative welcome (although you self-guide). Lovely tea room with china cups, a nice change from modern mugs!
S. D.
A beautiful Tudor house which is to be found in an historically significant area of Worcester. The staff were welcoming, the signage was helpful and there were volunteer guides to talk you through lots of interesting stories and facts. We stayed for tea, coffee and toasted tea cakes in the quaint tearoom and the staff were lovely and friendly. All covid restrictions were adhered to and booking was essential. It is run by a charity so please leave a suitable donation to help preserve this gem.

A wonderful look in to local historic life, and architecture.

Excellent place to browse around. Fascinated by the history of the place and its various uses through the years. Nice tea rooms. Friendly staff who are extremely knowledgeable about the buildings. Would highly recommend this as a place to visit
H. D.
Great guides able to tell you the history of the house and well worth s visit when in Worcester . And as it's a Museum it's free entry, just a voluntary donation box on exit.
C. D.
This is an amazing educational experience and is currently donation only. Very helpful and interesting volunteers. It has examples of the old wall and plaster ceiling. At the end of the tour there was a little shop cafe where we had a great cup of tea in a China cup and very cheaply priced. We recommend a visit and this is great for family's.

Nice historical house.

We came here on one of our weekends away with the kids and it was totally fascinating. There's a cafe underneath where we didn't eat but it looked gorgeous. The rooms are kept in lovely condition and you're able to see and touch the props. There's a tour guide at the door and you can leave a donation if you wish. Suggested amount is 2 pounds. It's a very short walk from the main town and car parking facilities. The car park is a nightmare if you lose your ticket they charge 25 pounds so please keep them safe.
The roads are fine for the buggies and wheelchairs. There's plenty of things to see and places to eat. It's a lovely little town with some lovely shops including an old fashion sweet shop that I wish I'd have gone inside as it looked gorgeous.

Fantastic, small petite place to visit. Staff introduces you well into the history of the building complex, as it essentially merged from 3 separate houses into one. Some items are not on display due to ongoing renovation. Free entry, tips only.
C. G.
Very friendly and FREE! Staff are very informative. Cake and tea in the tea room to finish. Well worth a visit, don't forget to donate.
S. G.
Lovely walk through history, would have been nice to know the locations of the 'find me' items at the end. Definitely worth a visit.
J. S.
Excellent. Lovely interesting rooms to look around. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Rat trail for kids. Support this museum as they need your donations. Free entry. Coffee shop too.
B. F.
Can recommend this interesting museum which not only covers the Tudor period but goes right up to the war years. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

What a fascinating place I didn't know it was there I found it in a happy accident . It was free admission but I still gave a donation it is well worth a visit it was wonderful to see how well preserved this building was considering it was made of oak and wattle and daub. It had a interesting history and the guide we spoke to was very informative. It is a place I will definitely revisit when I have more time . Worcester itself is an amazing town there is so much to see and this Tudor house was another little facet in Worcester's crown.
