Reviews of Nant Mill Visitor Centre
This is a great place to go for a walk/hike if you live in or close by Wrexham. It’s a nice way to spend a few hours with some great views, the waterfalls are beautiful. Parking is £1 for all day and while you can pay cash or via an app I recommend having the £1 if you can as doing it via the app can be tricky because the signal is non existent. I had to drive up the road until I got a signal, pay via the app then drive back to park up.
Beautiful setting though in October the centre seems to be closed.
Well maintained with some play equipment for toddler to young teens.
Good place to park if doing local walks.
Visitor centre and toilets closed contrary to information on here. Grounds open though so ok for a place to walk or picnic. Good access to footpaths and bridleways
Such a lovely walk, got a little lost so would maybe suggest having some signs as you walk but all in all we had a great time. Waterfall was peaceful, managed to sit and enjoy a bite to eat! Will be returning with the doggo again
Beautiful area to walk and see the waterfall. Very relaxing. I enjoyed taking photos
Lovely place but be prepared for paying £1 for parking as there is no signal there so you won’t be able pay by phone if you have no coins
Walk into the woods from the car park at the visitors centre(£1). Absolutely stunning autumn colour today, dappled afternoon sunshine & the sound of the river, just beautiful. Dog loved it too.
A lovely place. We've been many times but only once found the visitor centre open. Toilets locked too which looks permanent and sign on door telling of alternative but goodness knows where they are. Plenty of picnic seats and parking only £1 all day. Some lovely woodland and waterside walks. We walked from Erddig for a 10 mile round trip
Hidden little gem just off the A55. Great walk for kids, dogs and all the family! Lots of areas for a paddle and the best part is that it's not super busy and it's only £1 to.park all day
Great day out as kids loved the river Good place for a picnic Only £1 for all day parking
Brilliant yet very muddy walk through the woodlands. Take the route past the carved log pigs for a scenic ramble following the stream or take the path past the visitors centre staying on the higher route to see the waterfall. Lots of seating & picnic benches around the visitors centre & car park. Toilets are on site when open.
Only managed to walk on the right handside path, was a great long walk with lots to do. Lovely little park at the start for younger children but not that great for over 5s. Lots of picnic beaches to sit on by the car park too.
In a nutshell; Great little walk for younger children. Doesn't take too long and they will be impressed walking over the bridges and through the river.
There's a small park, and a small visitor center, unfortunately these were not open due to Covid-19. But parking is temporarily free. There is a picnic area with seats and some grass to play on.
Advice - with smaller wondering children, I strongly advise keeping a close eye on them as some parts are not too safe for them to wonder by themselves due to being able to fall down some small drops and large steep hills.
The visitor centre is currently closed, but the stream, picnic area and woodland walks are superb.
Visitors center was closed due to covid but carpark open just make sure you get a ticket only £1. But wardens are keen and two people ticketed. Area is fabulous for a walk and a paddle with the kids. 🐡
Lovely place for adult, kids and dogs to walk or relax, plenty of picnic benches too.
This is my safe harbour, my mindfulness and place to go to clear the mind. So lucky having Nant Mill, Plas Power Woods and the Clywedog Trail on the doorstep. Excellent walks and local history.
This was a stunning walk and suited for dogs and walkers of all ages. The beautiful blanket of bluebells made for an incredible view around the woods and the dogs loved the winding river with plenty of spots to cool off in.
Despite web site stating all facilities inc shop and toilets open, everything closed. Pleasant, but not as stated, so not suitable.
Well informed, beautiful surroundings! With a wonderful , refreshing dip at the waterfall !
It's a great place to relax, especially in the summer. It's a beautiful waterfall with the option to swim in it.
Always a nice walk and never fells to busy and very clean despite there not bing to many bins around
The waterfalls are a must see
Lovely walk and nice weather. Toilets on the car park were locked for what ever reason.
Nice place for day outings. Beautiful area
An excellent place to visit, lovely woodland walk and a waterfall to fall in love with.
Really nice stretch of woodland, lots of walking paths and some beautiful water features.
I discovered this place by chance once. This is my favourite go to place now. There isn’t so much ancient woodland close by so it is a joy to visit.
Really nice walks, beautiful woods and river.
Well worth a visit
Nant Mill was closed. £ 1 x carpark and fun river for a dip
Unfortunately the visitor center was closed due to covid. However the surrounding countryside and stream are fantastic.
Very pretty place with great walking trails
An excellent place to visit with lots of history from mining to iron works and milling.
A beautiful place just a pity the visitor centre nor the toilets were open.
This is a very relaxing place to unwind with the gentle sound of the babbling stream in the background. Unfortunately the visitors centre has limited openings time, so be prepared for limited facilities.
I love the place. I often go for a walk that way. Highly reccomended
Love this place. Very quite, nice little shop and toilet facilities. Lovely walk and play area for kids
Beautiful place to go for a walk and lovely picnic area besides the stream. Kids enjoy it here. Only down side is the oubluc toilets are closed. Overall though lovely place.
I always come here. Loads of stunning walks around here
Fabulous place to come for a relaxing walk, or a family day out. Aside from the beautiful scenery there's a great little visitors' centre where children (and adults!) can learn about the local area and the wildlife. There are picnic areas next to the river, which on a warm day is great for a paddle. Plenty of parking, which costs £1 a day, and you can pay by cash or the JustPark app
Lovely place for wlak, ideal place for afternoon with children.
Gorgeous little find. Sopped off to jave a picnic and a walk to see tje waterfalls on our way to Betwys Coed. So glad we did. Tje Visitor centre and toilets weren't open. Kids were paddling and jumping into the waterfalls. It was a hot humid day though
Lovely place to go for a walk. Its quiet woodland following the stream.
Some stepping stones and water fall to see.
Car parking is cheep for all day (£1)
There are picnic tables at the beginning of the walk and scattered benches through out the wood.
When you reach the stepping stones there is a rout that goes on the opposite side of the river to make a loop walk.
There's a small park with a slide, seasaw and a sand pit.
Only down side was the toilets closed when we went.
Nice little place. Excellent for walks in the woods and a paddle in the river. Kids love the Mole Hole!
Centre was closed, understandable being a Sunday, but we had hoped there was a cafe there.... had a lovely walk along the river which has been maintained well and a pleasant location.
Amazing valley to walk in following the river.
The staff are friendly and the children absolutely loved the lovely free activities inside. They have colourful displays, brass rubbing, children's books and a giant pretend mole hole - complete with mole! There are snacks and little bits like buckets to buy as well as plenty of free literature about surrounding walks and activities. Parking is free, there is a little playground and the river here is shallow so fun to play in.
If you like walking you'll love it here
Beautiful place for a walk but spoilt by the ignorance of people leaving their rubbish Stroon everywhere. One guy opened a precooked packet of what was possibly meatballs or cocktail sausages for his dogs only to leave the packaging with no remote consideration for anyone or anything...
Very nice place close to nature
Don't forget your quid for the car park. Nice and cool on a hot day.
BEST WALK FOR PREGNANCY! I have a hard time with walking due to having a few problems with my pregnancy (struggle with heat as makes me very light headed and breathless). This walk is manageable with lots of seating. Depending which route you take you don’t have to be in direct sunlight all the time and is a calm environment. Great for pets and kids!
Always love it here, and today the toilets were open. I've only given 4 stars because usually they aren't when I go. A beautiful picnic and play area, with a shallow river for toe dippers.
Beautiful walks all around, with some sculptures to look for. Footpaths well signposted, and picnic and children's play area.
Great outdoor picnic area, paddling in River, walk to waterfall and a play area.
Lovely little walk
Lovely walk with the dogs. Limited facilities but enjoyed ourselves.
The visitor centre is no longer open, but a walk through the forest is so beautiful. We'll worth a visit.
Great place to spend a couple of hours with little ones. Nice park with picnic benches. Areas to walk & the water to splash about in. Definitely enjoy taking my family for a picnic on a sunny afternoon.
The visitor centre is a great stop for a cuppa when out walking and the walking around here is just wonderful. There is a great waterfall just along the wooded trail, the river Clyweddog, there is lots of wildlife to photograph. A peaceful place to get away from the crowds.
nice place for a short visit. good for picnics. river great for paddling in. £1 for all day parking (as of April 2019) as in all Wrexham Country parks.
Visitor centre/toilets not currently open midweek but if you bring picnic you will have a great time. Spent all day with kids walked in forest, played on the park and paddled in river
Last time we were there was in 2013, in the winter. A welcome return to the woods and the water. Such a lovely walk!
Very welsh place, with a forest, walks and a small river. Perfect for a walk with kids/dogs. A small waterfall at the end of the walk. Very picturesque place, with a play area.
Really lovely walk and river, carpark's a bit tricky to climb out of.
Beautiful place and we walk there regularly but Visitor Centre and especially toilets are always locked. I presume due to lack of funding ☹️have just discovered they will start charging for parking. I think this will be a huge mistake ☹️
Great walks anytime of the year but particularly beautiful in autumn as there are many broadleaf woodland trees. There are two woods that are joined together, Nant Wood and Plas Power with the River Clywedog running through them both. There’s a visitor centre and café but these are only open spring/summer time.
Lovely walks around Nant mill very pretty with little stream nice picnic area. The downside now is the toilet block is no longer open and I have been told that because of council cuts they will only be open for the 6 weeks of school holidays.Ridiculous
Great Woodland walk with some interesting industrial history at both ends Mill at one and iron works at the other
Great place for walking and paddling in the river . Family friendly. Lots of picnic tables in area immediately next to the mill and car park. Small outdoor play area.
Nant mill is a lovely place but Wrexham Council have shut the visitor centre make pay to park there with toilets that are locked up there are no facilities here, the nearest functioning toilets are around a mile away, Wrexham Council must be the worst in Wales.
Lovely walks great place for the kids to run around well worth a visit if you are in the area.
We went Saturday afternoon paid £1 to park, to later find the toilet's were not open. Fantastic place for children and dog's.
A great place to visit, take a nice walk to see the tree carving of King offa along with the axe and dragons head just before you get to part of the dyke itself. Thank you to the pleasant lady from the little shop for the very helpful information.
Great nature trail walks, worth going to see Plas power waterfall in the woods
Lovely outdoor place so beautiful 😊 normally would have toilets but closed due to coronanvirus.
It has been closed all 5 times I have visited, this includes the toilets in the carpark being locked. Well maintained and lovely spot for dog walking.
Brilliant walk here, good, even paths. Lovely river for paddling
Nice walk nice and quiet plenty of Robins
Idea for walking dogs or a couple of hours out with the children , children's play area , river and ford across the road that children love playing in , toilets and shop but only open at peak times .
Great place, fanastic walk, digs loved it, toilets, benches, lots if paddle places for my dogs

Nice little fined but bit muddy today... Interesting walks and a nice children's play area... 😁 summer time fun... 😁
Nice place to visit with the kids or with the dog. Some lovely walks and a little shop too, lovely in the summer.
It's currently closed but the picnic area and walk through Plas Power Woods is still stunning.
Lovely walk, easy walking, kids loved playing in the water with the dogs
Bring cash for the visitors centre,
Nice area for picnics, and a lovely walk through the forest where a waterfall and a big pond is.
Great walks around here, nice place to start a walk and kids to play in good weather.

Great for all the family and your four legged friends too! Lovely picnic area and park.
Fab walks river and trees all year round beautiful place
such a relaxing place to go for a stroll
Visitors centre was closed, but a nice location and play area
Good day out with the kids and they enjoyed the waterfalls definitely worth the trip
Shocking that there were 20+ cars parked there in lockdown when we are required to undertake essential journeys only!
Good day but no toilets real shame granddaughter was upset as we had cut our visit short
Great place to walk the dog. He absolutely loves it
Perfect place for the little ones to play in the river & some great walks too 😊
Nice quiet place to go for a walk or for the kids to play down by the river.
Lovely woodland and riverside walks through industrial heritage being reclaimed by nature.
