Reviews of Dent Village Heritage Centre & Museum
M. A.
We visited this museum with my family as part of our holiday from Abroad.. its small in size but many things to see there .. to see the history of the place there. Friendly staff.. cheap tickets for adults only gives you opportunity to visit this place many times as you wish... nice cafe shop to enjoy 😉
T. 1.
A little pricey for what it is but interesting and a decent scone went down well.
R. G.
Visited whilst out on our tandem. We didn't visit the heritage centre but had a lovely cup of coffee on the outside seating. Decent value for money and a beautiful location
A. A.
A delightful place to visit, so much to see and great for refreshments as well.
Would really recommend. And a very friendly welcome.

This is a lovely place and the lady who served us was lovely... but it suffered from the extraordinary English paradox of CLOSING AT 4.00PM.... exactly at the time when we want a nice cuppa and cake after a long day's walk. I just cannot understand this - it seems that 9/10 cafes CLOSE AT PEAK TEA TIME!!! I mean, what is this about????
N. D.
The food was lovely, and inside the centre itself was really lovely, to see all the history of the area. However, whilst two of the ladies working there were very pleasant and friendly, there was one lady (dark hair) who could not have come across as being more abrupt or unfriendly if she had tried! I have to think that she must have just had a bad day, as she was not the epitomy of friendliness that we Yorkshire people like to be known for! This did kind of spoil it for us. Ironically, whilst driving out of the village a while later we saw the same person eagerly drinking alcohol from a can in her front garden (we assumed) so must have been a very bad day!!

Really great local food in the attached cafe. Highly recommended. Can vouch for the toaster, pork pie (served warm with gravy and mushy peas) and cakes.
H. C.
Cool and quirky place
It's a cafe with fab food and a museum and a shop, plus a camp site
Lovely area
P. M.
Very slow service all round. Slow in ordering and slow to receive the order especially as it was only tea and scones. This was our second visit here - the first visit was the same. Definitely need more staff or cut back on the menu.

Absolutely delightful..... well worth a visit...a jolly time was had by all.
J. M.
Very good, trip down memory lane. Cafe onside with outdoor seating. There is also up Flinters gill a preserved barn full of farming machinery and a lovely viewpoint over to the Howgill fells and dentdale, well worth the steep walk up.
R. B.
The ladies at the reception area were very cordial and informative. Much pride in this gem of a historical area was very evident, and rightly so. We spent 2.5 hours in this museum, and were very pleased...a must see if you are in the area.
J. D.
Really enjoyed wandering in the museum. Lots of exhibits and wee videos running of locals reminiscing! Beautiful crafts on offer especially using different wools.
Lovely apple pie with ice cream and a huge teapot of tea for two. Was very busy however with lots of cyclists and bickers. Staff did very well under the circumstances.

The heritage side is really interesting with an eclectic mix of random stuff, exhibitions, model railways of the area, old tractors.... good range of home baked cakes, hams and preserves.
