Reviews of Snu-Peas..........

On and off I've been visiting this rather marvellous emporium of second-hand popular music home replay formats for 40 years now, and I have to say I'm delighted with every purchase I've made over those years. Reasonably priced, and well stocked with all music genres. This place is a big part of Boscombe, and long may it last.

Has to be the oldest, surviving second hand record shop in the Bournemouth area. That's a feat in itself and a testament to longevity in the face of a disappearing world as far as the "high street"and retail are concerned. I first visited in 1987 when was 16, I am 51 now and still pop in occasionally. Snu-peas is a throwback to a time when part of the fun of buying music was going out to buy records as opposed to sourcing it online. It was about the thrill of discovery because back in the 80s you sometimes had to buy physical copies in order to truly experiment or explore different sounds. I think in this digital age we have lost that sense of adventure. Snu-peas is absolutely rammed with a vinyl, CD's and cassettes and other ephemera collectible or otherwise and if you still support physical media as well as independent businesses you would do well to visit Snu-peas in Boscombe. Personally I am glad it's still around, long may it continue.

This place has been around for decades for good reason. Such a range of genres and music platforms. I have such fond memories of my teens sifting through the shelves discovering new music and artists all at second-hand prices, then going back and listening to the albums all Saturday evening with friends and then throughout the week, only to do it all over again the next Saturday.

This shop is an institution and deserves its own blue plaque 💖!
I bought my first ever albums here way back in the 80s. It's always been a pleasure to pop down and have a rummage finding some real gems. So happy to know its still going strong and has barely changed over the years, Will the owner is so lovely. Whether you're a long term collector or are just starting your own collection, you can't do better than visiting here.

Awesome music store with high local reputation, and staff so knowledgeable! Last time I popped in I couldn't see a rare album I was looking for, then William nipped out the back and appeared with it in hand! Also apparently can get things in to order. Great service, very long time established. 10/10.

Have been going to this Record Shop since the early 80s. The owner is very knowledgeable and it is absolutely stuffed full of a massively wide selections of treasures all reasonably priced. This shop is part of the history of Boscombe and it is wonderful that my son is the second generation to be a regular customer at this must visit place for vinyl junkies.

Gorgeous little shop, enormous vinyl collection. Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. Can't rate them highly enough. A***** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love this record shop. The owner really knows his music and doesn't rip you off. I've bought classic albums at this place at very good prices and I've even been able to put albums back when I haven't had money at the time. If there's something you're after and you can't see it, don't be afraid to ask him if he has it out the back, even if he does look like the grumpiest man on the planet.

Decent collection of records and a proper record shop. Get ready to spend hours there rooting. It’s what Saturdays are made for. There’s some great record shops in town now and Snupeas is the best and most established. Good prices and good knowledge from the really old man behind the counter.

Such an impressive collection of classic vinyl. The owner absolutely knows his stuff and helps you find what you’re looking for. Better than any other vinyl shops in Bournemouth. If you want new vinyl from new artists go on amazon.

A gem of a shop that I have been going to since the mid-80s. Despite having lived in Birmingham for 14 years and now living in Lancs I still make an effort to visit on my trips down south. Some great records have been found here over the years! Well worth a look.

Stepped through the door in (probably) 1983.
During the vinyl hay day it was THE go to shop for rarities and oldies.
Snu Peas has survived the onslaught of modern music and formats - and continues to deliver quality options.
Will remains at the helm, and if he doesn’t know, no one does. He lives and breaths proper music!
The shop remains a rare diamond in the coal pile!
It’s been an eternal pleasure!
I note a poor review below with the comment ‘not been there for years’.
I would suggest you ignore the comment, and probably the person if they are a part of your everyday life!

I was really pleased to find that this shop still exists (it was founded in 1981). This is a proper second hand record shop, like the ones i remember from my youth (actually this was one I visited in my youth!). The shop appears a bit chaotic but the owner knew where everything was and found the record I was looking for. Friendly and helpful - highly recommended.

A music fans paradise but also a teenagers paradise. As a teen my thoughts about music we partially shaped in the four walls known as snu-peas. Lots guided me with music, but without snu-peas I would have become a different person. If you're all about the vinyl revival Will has forever got endless originals not reissues! Thanks for the years of advice!

Snu-Peas isn't merely a pre-loved record shop, it's always been 'the' pre-loved record shop. Quality assured for reasonable prices, with accurate and honest grading. I've never been let down, nor have I left empty handed, left wishing I had deeper pockets..maybe. Name the artist or genre, and they'll be represented, if not this visit, then the next. Its been the source of most of my record collection and hours of aural joy since I first passed through it's hallowed door nearly 40 years ago, many of my most cherished albums emerged from Snu-Peas crates. Put simply, looking for quality second hand music, think Snu-Peas.

The original and still the best. Snu Peas has a vast selection of really great music. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about all genres. Reasonably priced. I thoroughly recommend this shop.

First walked into snu peas in 1985..greatest record shop in UK then... Greatest record shop in UK now.. Show me another place you can still buy a 12"compilation of HAG label artists from circa 1990 and an Arianna Grande limited edition CD with free hairband?

Owner is very helpful and knows his stuff, keen to both sell and buy everything music related! If you cam think of a particular record that you want from back in the day, Will probably has it! The number of records he has is insane!!

Great shop been using it for years. Huge collection of vinyl, cd's etc plus lots of rare and collectable stuff. You could spend a week there and still not see everything !

An absolute goldmine of reasonably priced secondhand music. A Bournemouth institution and landmark with a knowledgeable owner. My only regret is that I can't give it more than 5 stars....

A great place to find the missing piece of music for your collection. All types of music are to be found in this gem of a record store. What Will doesnt know about music isnt worth knowing . 10 stars ..

First went to Snu-Peas 23 years ago and many times since. Might just be the best place on earth for any 15-year-old kid with a few quid in their pocket and a Saturday morning to spare. Next time I'm back in UK I'll be stopping in.
