What an experience! Jayce has not only got the best out of me & my band, but has also crafted an incredible sound and helped make the songs the best that they can be. Couldn't ask for more, will definitely be back!

There is nowhere else we would have rather recorded our first album for 29 years. Jayce becomes part of the band and really gets inside the songs and brings the best out them and you. He was also instrumental in finding us an incredible mastering team in Sweden (!) because he is so well connected. If you get the chance to record here? Do it. It's a privilege.

Cosmic Ninja recorded here for best part of two weeks and we had an incredible experience, Northstone is an amazing studio with outstanding equipment. For the first time in 15 years of making music, I can genuinely say that this has been by far the best recording experience I have had. Jayce cares about producing top quality music which is invaluable and we have come away better musicians and writers because of this. Jayce is honest, hard working and really easy to work with. Me and my band Portraits went to Northstone Studios to record the drums for our upcoming single, we had a total of 6 hours in the studio and both Jayce and Abraham made sure that 6 hours didn't go to waste. In Northstone, they chose whatever equipment is going to sound the best, I ended using some of their hardware, kick drum and snare. We had about 4 hours to get the song nailed, and in the end, we got there and it sounds great without any mixing, would definitely recommend, I'm unsure of the price, but it's definitely worth it.

Northstone is the most chilled experience I’ve ever had in the studio. Not only is Jayce extremely knowledgable about the technical aspects of recording/producing, he also has a very down-to-earth and relaxed attitude that is vital to teasing the performance out of an artist. Even if a break is needed from recording the surroundings are great for having a wander amongst the trees and recharging your batteries. I’ve found working one-to-one with Jayce the single most productive, creative and enjoyable studio experience I’ve ever had and fully intend on returning as soon as is required.

I'd just like to say that I am very very happy indeed that I recorded my album Songs of the Now and Then at Northstone Studios with Jayce Lewis as my producer on all 10 tracks. My songs all sound simply AMAZING and I am really glad too that Jayce mixed them because he has done such a fantastic job of creating an album I can truly be proud of. I think it sounds as good as the work of many world-famous singer-songwriters and bands, if I say so myself! I was hoping to get a really professional quality to new recordings of some of my best old songs and some newly written ones too (hence the album title) and Jayce has definitely achieved this. Songs of the Now and Then also features some brilliant vocals by Mab Jones, who was my special guest for two of the recording sessions. Award-winning artist Sam Hayles was introduced to me by Jayce, and Sam has created the incredible artwork for my album and the accompanying booklet. THANK YOU to Jayce, Mab and Sam, and I look forward to recording again at Northstone when I come to my next album!

I've visited Northstone Studios twice in order to provide some backing vocals on my friend's album. I'm not a professional singer by any means, but producer and musician Jayce Lewis helped me feel confident and self-assured, and worked wonders on my vocals and, indeed, on the whole album. Jayce is a consumate professional, if not genius, when it comes to music, recording, and sound, as well as a really down to earth and friendly guy. I highly recommend his studio for all your recording / production needs. The grounds and house it is set in (Colman Court Manor), by the way, are also stunning.

In reviewing Northstone Studios I would have to start by saying if you were going to invest in a new mobile phone or TV you most probably wouldn’t go for something that was eight or ten years old would you? Of course not. Technology is improving all the time and with those improvements comes the opportunity for better quality sounds and effects. Whereas older studio equipment will give you tremendous audio product the latest equipment gives you far more options - in a sonic sense - to reach the ideas that are swirling around in your head. But you need professional people to pull it all together and that’s what you get. Jayce Lewis is the studio owner as well as the main producer and all round multi instrument musician and has had real artistic success over a number of years. Anyone who has Gary Numan, Roger Taylor & Brian May of Queen in their contact list along with Darth Vader (Actor Dave Prowse) deserves attention. Jayce is well known for his energetic rock and metal sounds and is a well established solo artist. There is much more to him than this - he literally is a ‘man for all genres’ I was lucky to be present for periods when they were producing tracks for singer songwriter Rebecca Hurn whom Jayce described as ‘Acoustic Loveliness’ - My point here is that you could not get much further away from Jayces natural musical niche, but he was able to listen to and understand the ideas and brief from Rebecca’s acoustic version of her song ‘Lifeline’ played to him on a single ‘Martin’ guitar and to ultimately produce with Rebecca her song ‘Lifeline’ into something really special. In fact 'Lifeline' was awarded Best Single at the Cardiff Music Awards in 2017 The studio itself forms part of the 290 year old Court Coleman Manor near Bridgend South Wales and consists of three rooms all modernised internally to the highest spec regarding soundproofing etc. Northstone has the latest Laney GHR50 and L5 Studio amps along with Ibanez RG7 and six string guitars, the drum room and set up as you’d expect is something to behold visually and acoustically. With Pro Tools 12 HD amongst the software and Neve, Neumann Sennheisser and SE microphones available along with the excellent Aston brand going through the Viking Console you just know that you’re going to be up to date and relevant. Logistically it couldn’t be easier to get to Northstone Studio as its only 7 miles from junction 37 of the M4 at Pyle. 30 minutes from Cardiff Central Railway station and 39 minutes from Cardiff International Airport. London Heathrow is only 155 miles away. Don’t worry if you can’t physically be at Northstone, five years ago it would not have been easy to achieve online mastering and mixing simply because online speeds and file capacity would have been so much slower and smaller, now at Northstone that is also all possible. At Northstone studio you have vastly knowledgeable people and the best equipment in the relaxing beautiful surroundings of Court Coleman Manor at a venue created by musicians for musicians. They are all ‘artists’ who paint with sound. You will arrive with an idea and leave with something special. Maybe even a masterpiece.
