I have recorded with Tom Donovan on numerous records and over the years he has developed into one of best producers locally. The amount of time and passion he puts into recordings, regardless of the project, is second to none and the results are always far in excess of the budget. The studio has a great sounding live room, big enough to accommodate full live recordings. He has a great selection of mics and high end gear and knows how to wield it. I'm looking forward to seeing the new control room which has allowed for a vocal/amp booth to be added. Put simply, get your recordings done with Tom before he starts to charge a rate that truly reflects the calibre of his work. Excellent value for money.

We used Tom Donovan Studios to record the last Fashoda Crisis album and will certainly be using him again for future releases. The studio is a joy to work in and Tom creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that is entirely conducive to creativity. Tom is a very talented engineer and is very open to interesting ways of working. He will always allow the artists to try new ideas and you never feel rushed or under any pressure. Tom contributes many ideas to the recording sessions, takes no offence if you choose not to use them and is thoroughly enthusiastic throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend both Tom, and the fantastic studio he has put together, to any musicians.

Tommy is an amazing musician with a varied and rich musical knowledge enabling him to be 100% on point as an engineer and producer, whether you are a folk group or battle-hardened death metal outfit. From personal experience, his work on both my bands has been exemplary, both in capturing the raw sound of both bands and understanding the differing approaches and outcomes required. His studio is amazing, comfortable, full of all the gadgets and gear a sweaty band nerd could ask for, and all the while his polite, charming and humourous nature make the experience all the more enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend him to all friends, musicians and bands looking to record something that sounds professional but at a very affordable price. Top notch!

Got the chance to visit Tom Donovan Studio over the Christmas holiday and rocord some drum tracks. Very impressed with the not only the recording and admin side, but for me the value was in the relaxed, creative atmosphere underpinned by Tom's seeming knack to keep me focused and motivated to tease a good track from me even after hour's of recording when I felt spent. Definitely value for money and well worth a visit!

I presented Tom with a reference track or two and headed in to the studio record my track. He was presented by quite a number of unrehearsed musicians from drums to horns. Within a couple of live takes and some post production he didn't have us 'somewhere in the ball park' - his recording was actually comparable to the funk stax reference tracks i provided. Loved the snare reamping. Cant wait to release track. Used Tom a few times since..

I've known Tom for about 4 years now, and he's become my 'go to studio/producer/engineer'. I first knew him when he recorded demos for Dingus Khan. We then asked him to record four tracks which included 'Knifey Spoony' and 'Made A List'. A deal was secured with Fierce Panda Records but I insisted Tom was kept on board for the album 'Support Mistley Swans'. From this the band played Reading/Leeds, Latitude, Bestival alongside Maida Vale and XFM sessions and huge support from BB6 and Steve Lamacq in particular. I also recommended Ordinary Noise use Tom, which again has resulted in big support from BB6. I'm currently managing Off The Wall who are four 16 year olds, and they have been into Tom's twice, which has resulted in a huge buzz around the band and the songs. Tom's strength is in making the studio a fun place to be, his ability to get the best out of everyone, his openness to the weird and wonderful without question, and to have a damn good laugh! I would recommend him to anyone without question.

Spent 8 hours with Tom on Saturday and his knowledge and skillset is out of this world. He listens to what you want and need and then delivers over and over. If you want a studio that is going to help you improve, move forward or just have great fun then this is the place to be. No ego here just sensible talented support, just don't listen to his advice on where the cafe is :) 5 Stars from me and I can't wait for my next session. #BestInEssex

I have heard many of the Recordings made by Bands at Tom Donovan Studios and am very impressed with what I hear. I am not the only one, his recordings have been played by mainstream DJ's on Radio 1 and they do not play substandard music. Just visit his Website and hear what has been created in the past and imagine your music being given the same expert attention. Take a look at the rates page and you will see that the adage you only get what you pay for has this Studio as an exception to the rule. You get much more than you pay for, just ask any of the Bands he has collaborated with over the past few years, you will also be surprised by the diversity of the kind of music produced.

Wanted 2 songs done for my daughter spent the morning there and the final result was amazing He was very friendly and had some great idea's on how to arrange parts of the songs to sound better the final result was 2 great songs which sounded amazing once mixed with a blend of instruments which sounded even across the sound stage
