They have something for absolutely everyone in this store. So, if you are on Rose Street in Edinburgh, pop in and have a wee nose about the shop.

It's like a treasure trove of goodies.
The last time I didn't find what I was looking for, was just about to leave, but something told me to keep looking and I'm glad I did.
I found an old TV series on DVD from 1975, which I'd been searching years for.
It's well worth a visit and a place I always go first for CD's, DVD's and Blu-Ray discs. They have an excellent selection and who knows, you may find what you've been looking for.

C. C.I know Fopp is just HMV by a different name, but there's something about the way the store is laid out that I really like. As an old fashioned CD buyer it's disappointing to see their CD stock reducing but their selection of boxesets and music books, as well as normal books, almost make up for it. A must-visit every time I visit Princes Street.

C. R.Fantastic stock of CDs, vinyls, books and loads more. The shelves are very well categorised which makes it easy to find what you're after or just browse what they have to offer. They stock all mainstream artists and some really obscure ones you thought you'd be lucky to find on the market.
Not to forget fantastic service and friendly staff. Can't fault the place!
V. M.Amazing selection, I spent far too much money there as they had so many LPs that I have been after for a while and because they were such great prices, I couldn't resist. Great vibe in there too, it felt good spending time browsing. I definitely recommend it to LP enthusiasts and I'll definitely be going again!
M. C.A good, old fashioned record store that sells CDs, vinyl and DVDs at prices that compete well with online. It can be a little chaotic, but they have a good range from all styles of music or movie, so it's well worth checking out if you want a physical product rather than a download.

N. B.What can I say about FOPP other than it has great range of CDs and Vinyl across just about all genres of music.
It also has a wide range of film DVDs but I can't say how good it is as I'm not a film buff.
There's also a good book selection covering music and films.

D. S.DVD and music shops are a dying breed but Fopp is hanging on and deserves to. They always have a great selection to suit all tastes with a wide variety at cheap prices and displays regularly changed, plus knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Ground floor is now mostly vinyl, which is great to see. Always my first stop in Edinburgh.

R. M.A good place to visit for all types of movies and music. They stock vintage and the latest release movies. The music is from classical to heavy metal. They also stock T-shirts and some collectables.
v.It sells records (like most of the ground floor is dedicated to vinyl). Other formats are available. This is only a 5⭐ review because I can't give 6!!
A. N.Formerly an independent music and film shop in Edinburgh, that was taken over by HMV. It's a good shop as it will have most of the popular films or music you might be looking for, but everyday the international section, for films, gets smaller and smaller. The one in Glasgow is better due to it's size.

L. M.I love going into Fopp and every time i enter I know i won't leave empty handed. Its full of so much choice from CD's, books, a bit of vinyl and tees. Its a great place to spend a bit of time, a haven or visual and aural pleasures. A must if you're into music and film.
B. G.On of the last real record shops still standing. Maybe you need to be a chain to still make enough money on the High Street to employ music enthusiasts who know what acts are coming through town.
This one has two floors, it's easy to miss that.

The world in which we live is one where ownership of music and movies is becoming less and less important, everything is streamed these days.
However, physical products will always play an important role in life, after all, it's great to lend somebody a CD or DVD and 'make' them watch or listen. Sharing is caring.
When I'm looking for a new album or film I always head down to Fopp on Rose Street - this shop has such good taste! Maybe they just don't sell rubbish or maybe they hide it under the counter and only sell on request, who knows how they operate, but fingers crossed they keep going.
