Reviews of Julian Wagstaff - composer

I am a huge fan of Julian's music. He manages to write tunes and songs that are both enjoyable to listen to, yet innovative and musically interesting. I was lucky enough to receive composition instruction from Julian a few years ago - he is a true gent and an all round good guy!

Julian wrote 'Saxophone Sonata' for me to play as part of my final year recital at University of Edinburgh. It stands out as one of my favourite pieces to play- the piano and saxophone parts work wonderfully together and it shows the full range and ability of the saxophone as an instrument.
Julian was easy to work with and is a very talented composer. I have been to several performances of his works over the years and thoroughly enjoy his music.

Having heard much of Julian Wagstaff's music, either on line or at 'live' concerts, I am impressed by his refeshing musical language and his ability to turn his exciting ideas into works which are compelling to listen to and, I'm sure, exciting to play. He has a strong dramatic sense which is very appealing and refreshing in the music of today!

I have now seen a few of Mr Wagstaff's productions. Great to have a talented local composer who really researches and puts so much thought into his music.

Best composer in Scotland. Fresh ideas and a professional outlook. Highly recommended.

I've been a long time fan off this man's work. You never know in which direction he is going to go next which adds to the interest value.
