I spoke to Malcolm whom I believe to be the owner. I’m a clarinet player who knows very little about flutes. His knowledge and advice was excellent and the instrument arrived less than 24 hours after purchase. Excellent service and shop. Would definitely use them again.

We went there as my son was looking for a trumpet for his 18th birthday. He wanted one that he would enjoy playing for many years. They were very knowledgeable and offered a selection of trumpets to try with absolutely no pressure to buy. He forgot to bring music and was given some books to choose music to play with no fuss. He did choose a trumpet that he looks forward to playing. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing place and wonderful service. Having been let down by a shop in Glasgow we saw the reviews of the wind section and took a day trip to Edinburgh. Before hand, phoned the store to explain our (quite urgent!) need for a new trombone for our son. They located one within a few hours and was there for us to try a few days later. It was perfect so got it there and then. They are very knowledgeable and provided v good advice. Also v friendly and lovely manner. Highly recommend this place for any wind instrument needs, they also seem to sell accessories and music. Thank you guys, you made our son a v happy guy, and his playing has already come on leaps and bounds.

What a fantastic company this is, and Customer Care is off the scale, i wanted to buy a Clarinet and spoke to Gemma, although they were busy, she spent a lot of time on the phone answering my questions, she even went and got the clarinet to look at something she was worried about, but it turned out to be nothing, They checked the Clari over in the workshop to make sure there was nothing wrong with it, there was a bit of a blip with delivery, i phoned the shop and Gemma was on it in a flash.. Very friendly staff. They have a great option for you to purchase a clarinet that they will buy back for 75% of the value if you don't want to keep it after a few months. As I hadn't played clarinet in a few years, this was an excellent way to get me back into it. I feel ready now to move to a better quality instrument and will definitely pop back in to look at their selection when I've saved up enough.

Amazing! 5 stars is not enough for this business as they deserve more! We have used their servicing department for many years and recently bought a new flute from them. Brilliant service every time. Small repairs are often done on the spot, saving me a return journey. But I was astounded by the help I recently received when the workshop identified a joint problem with my Buffet RC Prestige while it was still under warranty and negotiated with Buffet to sort it out - even though I hadn't bought the instrument in the shop! All the staff were incredibly helpful and kept me in touch with progress while the clarinet went back to Buffet.

The Wind Section is amazing. The staff are musicians themselves and every time I have been in they have been nothing but helpful and informative. The last time I went in it was three days before Christmas and he mended my flute on the spot. The time before that they did an amazing job servicing my flute and gave me tips on how to keep it clean and healthy. Can't recommend this place enough, friendly, helpful and professional staff every single visit.

Fantastic customer service from Malcolm and his team when deciding on what particular Yamaha Xeno Trumpet to go for! I was given ample time to test and retest the models on display, time to discuss the different trumpets with Malcolm ( a brass player himself) and then more time for playing. A totally relaxed and friendly sales manner which wasn't at all pushy, a total pleasure all round! I am very happy with the instrument and couldn't recommend The Wind Section, Edinburgh enough. Staff are very friendly. The repair workshop is very nice. They fixed my wooden and bamboo flutes very nicely. If I have any problems with my woodwinds, I will definitely bring them here.

Went in with my partner who was looking for a flute. We had recently had very bad customer service in shops we wont name. The staff here were very bubbly and had a laugh with us. Started talking to my partner offering different flutes finding out what level of flute she needed and we found the perfect one. Those other businesses missed out but this place is deffo worth a stop by.
