I do recommend this outlet. On line, it was simple to find what I was looking for. Choice was very good as was availability of instruments. In store, layout was excellent with instruments of choice displayed in a well organised fashion. Plenty of space and comfortable seating to play or, whilst you wait. Customer assistants ready and waiting without being overbearing at entry, on looking, whilst trying, for information/advice and on completion of purchase.

As always a pretty pleasant and efficient experience. And whilst my shopping partner was putting the items in the car they were happy to demonstrate me some monitors even if I was not intending to purchase immediately. : Quite simply the best experience I've had in any music shop in all of my (many) years of playing. I went in to look at an HD-28 but it didn't quite gel with me. There was a great selection of other well-set up instruments and the guys bent over backwards to let me work through them. There was no rush or pressure to make a decision and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone in the store knew their stuff, and they were absolutely fantastic in talking through options with me. Ended up with a superb D-28. I can't rate the Newcastle store or its staff highly enough. Fantastic.

Well-laid out shop with helpful, but not overbearing staff. Went in to possibly browse for new guitar. Tried a Taylor that I chose off the wall. Danny P asked what I thought, took my feedback and came back with an Eastman E1OM which I bonded with straight away. Great sounding guitar, easy to play for a relative newbie and ticked all the boxes. My more knowledgeable boyfriend had a go and was suitably impressed. I was about to get my wallet out but boyfriend realised would be the perfect Christmas present, so I walked out of the shop a happy girl with a brand-new guitar! A couple of years ago I bought a wee Louden S04. A cracking wee guitar. It recently became dull sounding and the action higher than usual. I took the guitar into Bob at Guitarguitar Edinburgh and within a few minutes he had diagnosed the problem. Humidity. (Who would have though in Edinburgh) He dried the guitar out and sorted the action then put a decent set of strings on it. All for a very reasonable price. Not only that but he kept me up to date with the progress of the repair and gave me some sterling advice about the maintenance of the guitar. A great service as usual from an experienced team in the Edinburgh shop. Thank you.

Every now and again you get an experience that restores your faith in people and companies. That not all people or stores are money orientated and disinterested in after care. My son had an electrical issue with his bass, time was an issue as he was playing in a gig and needed it. Because I live 200 miles from the Glasgow store in the North of Scotland, it's important to arrange visits in advance and the staff in the Glasgow store were very helpful in agreeing a time to try the guitar after it came into stock and arranging part-exchange of another guitar. Once in store, the staff supplied me with an alternative nylon strung guitar to compare to the guitar I'd pre-ordered and provided a couple of acoustic amps to try the guitar plugged in.

Brilliant service as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a musician by any stretch of the imagination, although I like to think I am mildly intelligent. Went to purchase a PA system (mixer and speakers) for a charity group, with a fairly wide-ranging brief for what we thought we needed and a suggestion on spec from a friend. Emlyn at the shop was excellent; spent time talking over things, let me hear a couple of options and gave us (pardon the pun) very sound advice, as well as good deal on a decent bundle. Only one slight nuisance - I was told I'd get a message on Monday saying when my piano would be delivered - thought that would be Monday morning - but didn't get the message until just before 1pm - that it would be delivered between 3-4pm. Had a problem with the toggle switch of my Gibson Les Paul Standard. Took it into the shop for the guys to fix, and they had it done within a day without charging a repair cost! In my experience.. Brilliant store with reasonable prices, staff are so knowledgeable (in the questions I asked) - you feel like you’re surrounded by Gurus. There’s always available space to test most products (or all?) especially due to social distancing - including ordering products in from another store which benefited myself. On one occasion I went to the store, I felt like there were to many staff in the sense that, as a beginner it made me feel a little bit shy about playing whilst testing my gear. Unfortunately the ‘sound check room’?* wasn’t available. (Which I appreciate) I knew I’d eventually overcome that fear, but I wonder if other beginners might sometimes feel less confident when they want to test something but can’t play to much. I also know the room* situation without a prior phone call is circumstantial and that’s also fine. So PHONE THEM UP & BOOK A SLOT which is what I should have done, funny old world. As my confidence grows and I continue to shop here I really feel like the guys are my mates when I’m there and they’re always happy to help or advise you. Highly recommend!

On Sunday the 18th April I bought the last Fender 75th Anniversary Commemorative Stratocaster in 2 colour bourbon sunburst that they had in stock together with a ' B ' stock Shure Super 55 Deluxe vocal mic and they gave me a really good deal on the bundle as well as a very fair part exchange price for my old Japanese '57 reissue Strat. My only disappointment was that the sales guy didn't know the reason for the mic being B stock and said that he thought it was just an ex-demo item. However, on getting it home I discovered that there was a minor issue with the small spring which covers and protects the capsules wiring in the back of the mic which I was soon able to rectify myself. If it hadn't been for that I would have given them 5 stars for excellent !

I had placed an order with PMT Online and they sent me a damaged guitar (I must stress that this was another company and not the one being reviewed) and despite them agreeing that it was damaged from photos they refused to send a replacement until the guitar had been received back and was inspected. Why couldn't they just send a new one and collect the damaged one at the same time? I cancelled my whole order with them. I have visited this store on a few occasions. I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I did however on my last visit purchase among other things, 5 very inexpensive small items. (all the same) I have used 2 of them so far and both have fallen to bits. As I previously mentioned they were vert inexpensive however they should have been fit for purpose. The money involved was next to nothing and not worth returning the items but a store with such a good name should make sure even the small items can do their job if they wish to keep that name.

Truly outstanding customer service! I've felt the need to actually write a review a handful of times in my life and, generally, it's been for the wrong reasons. Glad to say this most definitely is not the case here! Had a QC issue with a new Gibson Les Paul bought from GG in September and I had it sent back through the repairs/warranty department (Billy, you're a star) and Gibson, to their credit, responded quickly and honestly in providing a new replacement guitar. Robert Robinson then exceeded my expectations in dealing with a resultant exchange request linked to this QC issue pretty much on the spot! This experience has restored my faith in retail businesses with multiple locations. Good solid service, what it said on the can and a bit more. I had spotted the Epiphone SG G400 Pro at the Newcastle branch, sterling attention even though I didn't buy anything at that time, but the help I got in choosing my first electric was without fault and more importantly to me, without the high pressure 'buy it now' attitude and normal [yawn] salesman tricks. Absolutely streets ahead of another music shop in town that gives you the impression that if you can't recite the types of Gibson and Fender models in descending order of value, you are simply just not worth their incredibly educated time. Later finding a pre-owned SG in the colour I wanted on the web site I went for it, but as this particular item was in Birmingham, I bought this guitar unseen, other than the photos. I was advised that this was pre-owned, that it had a dent. In my mind I imagined a bit of a battered old soul but if it played and lasted me well I'd be happy, after all, that's what you get for a good solid knock down price, just what I was looking for in my first electric. This was not to be. Not only was it packed in such a way that I doubt being thrown between two rugby teams fighting over the match winning points on the try-line in the 89th minute would cause a scratch, but its pristine! I have to keep pointing to the ding to show people the 'damage', normally more than once. To be honest, both the tone knobs are both a bit loose, they just pop off with a flick, excuse me if I don't get too excited. The Newcastle guys have said just bring it in and they will sort that out no bother. Just the inevitable parking issue that's stopped me from doing this. But one of these days. Used it at an open mike once so far, an absolute dream to play. Love it.
