Been wanting to visit Monorail for some time, so glad I got to spend a couple of days here on a recent trip to Glasgow. They have an exceptional amount of quality stock, and lots of exclusive items and signed copies etc.. Great staff and well worth a dig through all of the racks. Brilliant layout and well presented store, reward your self afterwards with some refreshments in the bar / cafe. Superb!!!

A record shop inside a cafe/bar, whatever could go wrong 😆. Great choice of records. Prices seem no more than anywhere online and they all come in good quality outer sleeves. Will definitely be back.

Been going for years. Best record shop in Glasgow, with a wide selection and I love their carrier bags 'Attack of Colour, Attack of sound'.

Good shop plenty of choice, new and second hand. Staff good. Wee bit of a strange set up ( for me anyway ) have to go through a cafe to get to the record shop, but you can get a coffee or beer if you want. Will definitely return here.

Great place. Wide selection of new and some used vinyl

Easily the best record store around because of the passion and knowledge of the friendly staff. I travelled 380miles there (was going to Leith but made the detour first) and wasn't at all disappointed. Didn't mind playing us tracks from albums we were interested in and recommended us some great Soul compilations 'Dave Godin'.
We will return and always use the online store where they are also on top of their game, plus the mail outs. Thank you Monorail I enjoyed the pilgrimage.

Hi Monorail, I would just like to say thank you.
I recently purchased Leila - Like Weather from you, I must have checked every independent record store on the web hoping someone still had a copy (I had no idea it had been repressed!).
Excellent service all around, thanks again!

Went for record store day for a change, to Glasgow. I always like it on here, lovely staff, always helpful, got everything I wanted, great shop!
Keep it up. Thanks!

Wonderful record shop based in the heart of Glasgow. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable staff all with a passion for music. Set within a pretty excellent vegan cafe, Mono, that serves great food with an excellent selection of beers. When in Glasgow this is my go to place every time. Mostly new vinyl and cd music selection with a bit of 2nd hand stuff + some DVDs etc. But the vinyl selection is a revelation. Stuff you never knew existed or that you even wanted before you went in. But by the time you leave you have ended up wanting it and buying it. Can't recommend this place more. Now a veritable Glasgow institution. Love it, absolutely love it!

Never tried the cafe but it has a cool range of vinyl and is well priced

My hubby rates Monorail as the best record shop in the northern hemisphere, outside of London. He's not wrong.

Nice place with nice people. If you like music and visit Glasgow take a break there, enjoy music a tea or coffee and perhaps a soup or sandwich. It's just enjoyable. I was looking for vinyls and got such a nice recommendation. I would have never found that music piece which will always remember me of that visit and Glasgow. I wish Monorail a long lasting business. Hope to see you again one day!

These guys are FANTASTIC! I purchased a record online on RSD 2021 from the US and received it beautifully packed and in record time. Great communication making me feel more than confident on any future purchases from Monorail Music - love you guys!!

Fantastic store. Was there for Record Store Day. Brought us coffee out during the nearly two hour queueing experience. Staff are always very knowledgeable and store has a great selection. It's very nice as well on Record Store Day to visit somewhere that hasn't marked up the prices on the products. Was able to get most of what I was looking for. Always end up leaving Mono with something. RSD or not.

One of those places which make Glasgow a unique and special place. Great selection of genres and records, knowledgeable and supper friendly stuff. Whoever serves you, you will be treated with love as these people are entirely dedicated to music - Unprejudiced and very helpful. Stephen, Eilidh, Russell, Dep, Michael or Tara - all of them wonderful

A nice indie record store tucked away behind Argyle Street.
The staff are friendly, knowledgable and prices are reasonable considering the majority of their stock is new rather than used. They also have a decent selection of used vinyl to dig through.
Worth a look for sure if you are in the area.

The place has a cool hipster vibe and the food is good. They also have live music some evenings, but I wasn't in Glasgow long enough to experience that. The only reason why I'm giving them 4 not 5 stars is because the service was very slow.

Great record shop. Excellent range of white-man music-nerd stock but the shop loses points for filing pre-solo career Alice Cooper under 'C' - not cool!
The shop is inside the excellent all-vegan bar and restaurant Mono.

Monorail is hands down the best record shop in Glasgow if not Scotland. It stocks new releases reissued lost classics and hard to find left field music. My record collection has grown into a selection of some of the finest records of the last 60 years thanks to Monorail.

Just bought the latest The Notwist EP on vinyl. Totally recommended! Lovely place! Nice people (and very helpful) and very interesting selection of music.

Great little store, brilliant little vegan cafe. The food is incredible. I'm not a vegan but would still come as a meal option in the trongate area.

It's a great place. The kind of record shop you want to find in every city of discovery. I always find something to buy, generally one I didn't know I wanted!! 😎👍🎵🎶

Ace shopping experience from the Kings and Queens of pop. Great personal recommendation from Stephen Pastel for the Tony Molina album "Kill the Lights" which is dappled in melody and totally tunetastic. Get in and get fed, watered and add some music to your day 🎶💚

Searching for that elusive vinyl copy of your favourite fey Glasgow indie band's most inaccesible album? The oddly coiffured staff will probably still think you're too mainstream for them but they'll likely have it.

Support. Buy. Have a Beer in Mono. Buy more. Great independent record store. One note: the hip-hop section needs to expand. It's good but restricted.
M. B.
A well curated selection, good prices, helpful staff. Recommended.
J. D.
Friendly, expert staff and a great place to just browse and burn some time. Before buying some records you didn't even know existed. Not the widest range in the world but well-curated.
A. C.
Nice cafe serving lovely vegan food. Good music to browse or a seat to eat their food and drink their homemade lemonade.

Even if you're on a short budget, the place itself is worth a visit. Nice shop located inside a café (great food, btw, and nice selection of scottish beers). Friendly staff!

(Translated) Great selection on vinyl, including a new section of singles and cassettes. Medium/high prices. As a curiosity, it is located at the back of a vegetarian restaurant with a good program of live music.
