W. A.A good HMV, however I am a record collector and wasn't much in choice of vinyl I listen to mostly metal and rock. The films and media side is good though loads of choice of dvds, blurays and boxset binges. The location is adjacent to Princes Quay (Whitefriargate) staff is a little sparce I'm not sure as it was due to the weekend so not many were in attendance.

M. P.A great place for music and DVD's. Reasonably priced with some good offers. COVID - opening hours remain the same. Hand sanitiser on entry but their is no designated path around the store and the aisles are to thin. Impossible to remain socially distant.

P. S.HMV is now a cool geeky place to go. Loads of cool items in the style of animation characters. One little think was it takes time to find the dvd you want as their are too many categories.
M. R.Always amazing staff there. They seem very passionate and knowledgeable with what they discuss and talk about. There's mostly a wide range and with a little bit of a refreshed look, it's nice to see all the different things available and at a price that can sometimes rival online competitors. Really nice to have this remain in the high street.

I collect vinyl records and the choice is very limited I like a bit stuff that is bit more a bit way out and more than likely they do not have it which is very annoying and you have to go online . You want to try and keep the high street going they have to keep up with the times.

R. A.They have a huge selection of DVD's, Blu-Rays, T shirts etc for very reasonable prices. My only issue is that when i go in and im looking for something in particular there doesnt seem to be any staff around to ask. All in all a great place for all your Movie/Tv Show Needs!!
S. Y.One of the few remaining record shops, good to browse or if it's something specific, they will probably have it or get it.

B.Over the years HMV have become a bit more specialised, stocking more in the way of vinyl and record playing decks, but they still have an impressive selection if DVDs, Blurays, CDs and videogames. They also stock items of apparel like T shirts, and their rewards card offers some interesting things too. Some of their items can seem expensive however.
C. J. F. H.Helpful staff and the store has a huge selection and if you cannot find the title you are looking for, certain staff can locate or even order it.
T. Z.It wasn't that long ago that HMV was not worth visiting, but since they have changed their stock they're wonderful. Leaning into more nerdy stock, such as an incredible selection of anime, pop vinyl and various merch shows that they have their finger on the pulse more than a lot of others. Their vinyl selection is on the up and up, as is their DVD choices. Very happy with the direction they've taken and I hope to see more like this in the future.
M. G. Y.It really has improved!! The staff are friendly, it's a little cramped and prices can't compete with online but factor in p+p and the face u can head home with your purchase and I think hmv has regained some charm!! It's lovely to see a large and ever increasing range of vinyl!! If your looking for a more obscure film then that's were falls short. All in all though, to say we are moving to a more digital era, it's great to keep hmv alive!! Well done hmv for turning yourself around and the hull store!!
R. A.A good store to get general releases and new releases. Not all new releases are always available. The chart items will be, but more obscure items may be limited. Good competitive prices too.

N. U.Expensive for nearly everything no wonder online is cheaper and shops like these are closing because the price difference is massive. They do have some good deals though like they used to have 5 blu rays for £30 but not sure if they still do it.

D. C.Visited hmv in Whitefriar Gate Hull today. Asked one assistant where I would find Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young albums. He showed me instantly. I chose Deja Vu. The young lad on the till said I'd made a good choice and had I heard Crosby's latest ? We had a chat about the band and their merits. Not unusual maybe except Tim was probably in his early 20 s and I am 65. Thanks to Tim for not making me feel an outdated granny !!!!

R. K.(Translated) A DVD / CD shop with an extensive range. In the Netherlands there are hardly any stores like this anymore, so get going! Pay attention! There are very few Dutch subtitled DVDs.

Een DVD/CD winkel met een uitgebreid aanbod. In NL zijn er nauwelijks dit soort winkels meer, dus sla je slag! Let op! Er zijn heel weinig NL ondertitelde DVD's.
