Graham has been an amazing teacher. Having started with little to no knowledge about musical theory and the guitar he helped me get going quickly and I have made great progress over the 6 months I've been learning from Graham.
Now moving onto songs and chords he has helped me with my technique and also kept sure I remember previous things covered.
He is a great teacher and would recommend for people wanting to learn the guitar.

Graham is the best teacher I've ever had. After playing for several decades and going through various tutors previously I'm finally having my first lightbulb moment with music theory after just three lessons with this guy. I'm also learning new approaches to technique and generally getting excited about practicing my instrument again. Can't recommend highly enough!

After decades as a frustrated, self-taught player, I've recently changed to P4 tuning and went looking for a good teacher.
My lessons with Graham over the last few months have been exactly what I hoped for.
He is taking my existing, scattered knowledge of guitar and music theory, and filling in the gaps that have held me back for years as a player. I look forward to our next lesson.

I’ve been having lessons with Graham for a couple of months. First off Graham is an extremely talented musician and really knows his stuff. His technique is fantastic and his knowledge of theory is immense. I’m an intermediate player looking to get out of a rut and straight away Graham was able to identify gaps in my knowledge and playing ability and focus on what was needed for me to improve. Lessons are tailored to what I’m interested in and are a mixture of techniques and musical theory but always with the emphasis on practical application. Graham covers all styles of music and is excellent at explaining potentially difficult topics in a way which brings it to life. In addition he is a very articulate and easy going character which means lessons are both extremely interesting and hugely enjoyable.

Money spent on good guitar lessons is better than money spent on gear -- so the saying goes.
Graham, at Leeds Guitar Studio, is a good guitar teacher. He has a friendly manner & helps you work through improved technique and increased knowledge. By looking at your playing he offers precise, focused feedback with new approaches & tips.
We do exercises, drills, warm ups together with practical applications of theory and harmony. He is training your ears, fingers & rhythm. He tailors what you need to work on based on where you're at. There's a wealth of his own teaching materials that he sends you, direct. With regular focused practice, using these materials (& metronome) you get better!
I would thoroughly recommend Leeds Guitar Studio to improve your playing whatever your current standard.

I've been banging around on the guitar since I was a kid. I've seriously pursued studying guitar and a specific agenda for the last few years. I've reviewed and explored many programs... so many that I had become pretty confused. I've sought out a couple of top flight teachers who in their helped me with this quest. But then I found Graham. He's done more for me in just a few lessons than I ever thought possible. He has a complete mastery of the instrument and theory and he knows how to present his knowledge in a way that is understandable, clear and applicable. He's also a lovely person. And his prices are more than reasonable. I can't say enough.
Also, and this is applicable to my area of studies, he is a master of P4 tuning. As far I as I can tell he is one of earliest proponents of this really logical and rational tuning and he's taught Tom Quayle who is perhaps the most visible user of this tuning. If you are looking for someone to guide you through this alternate guitar universe in a human, effective and comprehensible way Graham is your man.

I highly recommend Graham as he’s helped me immensely so far after only 5 or so lessons.
Having grown up listening to different genres of metal and rock music and being amazed by the talent and technical skill of many guitarists, I’ve always said I wished I’d learnt to play and never did. Around a year ago I thought why not start now and went and picked up a £100 Ibanez rg and got started!
I spent around 9 months on my own studying from a book, working pretty hard spending at least an hour a day, but couldn’t imagine progressing from being able to play basic rhythm parts and riffs from songs to being able to understand how songs work and how to start thinking about lead parts and soloing etc.
I decided I probably needed some help and after researching Leeds based guitar teachers, I decided Graham was the best teacher as he’s got many years of experience across a lot of styles and he was keen to help me with where I’m wanting to go.
From the first lesson, Graham has got me paying attention to the finer details of my technique which has helped my playing sound cleaner and become more efficient. We’ve worked on a number of technical exercises and even had a go at improvising with minor pentatonic scale over a backing track which was really cool and I can’t have imagined being able to even attempt!
I feel like you can get so far on your own but you can waste a lot of time not having somebody like Graham who knows what he’s doing and can help you get your technique right and tell you what to focus your efforts on.

After being self-taught on and off for a few years, I've now been learning from Graham for about 9 months. In that time my technique, theory, and general musicianship has accelerated really quickly thanks to Graham's friendly, well-structured, and personalised sessions. I can now write songs that I actually like, even though there's plenty more to work on! :D

I've been playing guitar for quite a few years but had struggled recently with my technique and with moving forward with any purpose. I decided to have lessons with Graham and have been having them for about 6 months. They have made a huge difference. My technique has improved greatly and we have also covered a variety of topics. All the topics follow on from each other and tie in with songs etc and all are supported by handouts etc. Graham has great knowledge and experience from many years of teaching and his style is very thorough but also very relaxed and fun. I feel I have learnt a great deal in a short time and would highly recommend Graham.

I only had a couple of lessons with Graham but I'm already practicing pretty advanced stuff. I have never seen scales and modes explained the way Graham does it. These "complex" topics suddenly look fairly simple on the guitar neck. Another big advantage when studying with Graham is that he is an expert on both tunings - Standard Tuning and All Fourths Tuning or Perfect Fourth Tuning (P4). I'm interested in P4 tuning because you need to learn only a third of the chords when compared to Standard Tuning. So it is really rare to find such a good teacher for P4!
