The sales person saw I had picked up a specific record (after laughter by paramore) and told me once I was at the till she hoped she would get to serve me so that she could show me her tribute tattoo to the band. I thought that was awesome to be honest. Would recommend popping into the store, you get the kind of personable customer service there that you can't get if you shop online.

Sells cds, books, tee shirts, headphones, graphic novels, pop figures, posters. We'll laid out, clean store with plenty staff on hand for assistance when needed.
J. d.It's been quite a while since I was in HMV. And that the shop was doing well it was certainly very busy. I've always found that the shop is always loaded with people being served at the counter. The reason I have given 5 Stars is that the staff is always very helpful and courtesy with the customers that can be difficult to find these days.
I. M.One of the last true cd/dvd outlets where you can find just about anything that still exists, and if they don't have it they can order it for you. Prices are good too. Brilliant for someone like me that likes old blues music and older films and tv series.

HMV is one of the stores I remember from my youth so I hope they keep trading! Too many old stores and brands have been lost.

S. M. L. D.I suppose it has a little bit of everything except enough foot fall. Seems to mainly emphasise dvds these days. A bit of a Jack of all trades approach to consumer media. I worry there s nothing that special or encyclopaedic to make a trip there a must for any one group of its dwindling customer base.
T.Nothing better seeing physical media and being able to speak to people. However I find HMV tend to be a bit slow with new technology. Ie. UHD,4K,BLU ray Hi res Audio etc. I did ask if they had any hi res or SACD and was met with a blank expression! Prices also seem generally higher but some of the deals are ok.
C. K.We came on holiday to scotland from london. We went into HMV in Livingston centre and it was exceptional customer service. Everytime we walked passed a HMV Sales person always asked if we were ok and asked if we needed help.
Numerous times from the same sales ppl. We will be back in there next time we up in scotland . Favourite shop
R. C.Not the biggest selection, and definitely offers more space to current releases, but the staff are helpful and informative, and there is a large variety of the usual fare plus more niche items (t-shirts, posters, figurines)
