Working with Dave at Lightship Studios was a dream. He is so kind and considerate, and an absolute master at what he does. We couldn't have wished for a better person to produce and mix our debut EP. The studio itself was gorgeous with a wonderful atmosphere and great gear, which really helped us get into the mood to record. We cannot recommend Dave and Lightship Studios enough!

Loving what you do shows. Both Dave and Giles are masters of their craft, operating a unique creative space with an unparalleled level of resourcefulness, kindness, and flexibility As someone that keeps booking Dave for continuously adventurous and left-field sessions, I cannot thank him enough for his openness, knowledge and, let's not forget, impressive collection of microphones and studio gear.

I had a great experience recording my latest album at Lightship 95. I was looking to record a guitar duo album (jazz/improvised music) and so contacted Lightship 95 as I had hear great things about it. I got the chance to work with David Holmes who is a phenomenal sound engineer. He is extremely knowledgeable about all the gear and how to setup everything in an efficient way but he is also creative and up for trying new techniques. The sound he captured had all the warmth, nuances and dynamic range we were looking for. He also mixed the album and again, he did an amazing job. He has a great hear and attention for detail which is essential when mixing. I can't recommend David and Lordship 95 enough. Get in touch with them and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time!

Lightship 95 is a gem of a studio. Hands down the most positive, productive, relaxed recording experience of my career so far. David Holmes is a brilliant engineer. He had planned thoroughly before we arrived (with a harp and a double bass) and had the room and mics set up faster than I've ever experienced before. (It took an hour - usually this part takes half a day!) He captured the sound of my harp really beautifully and organically. Great gear, beautiful space and genuinely one of the most efficient and positive blokes I've ever worked with. Highly recommend. 10/10.

I had a session to record a single engineered by Dave Holmes. The studio has an incredible atmosphere that is really inspiring. Great punctuality, most of the drums mics were setted even before our arrival so we saved a lot of time that we used to record. In terms of gear, they have some real gems that make the difference in audio quality. Dave really understood what I was looking for to the point that he end up mixing the recording and to highlight he got really involved. I would definitely recommend the studio!!

The best studio ever!
We went through a whole weekend of recording sessions for our new album on this mystic lightship and, the day after, we already feel nostalgic.
Dave Holmes, the sound engineer, beside his skills, which are undoubtedly high, is a very nice and easygoing man who, thanks to his experience, gives you the impression that everything he touches becomes gold!
We highly recommend this studio if you need professional recording, high-end equipment and a very warm environment which, usually, is very hard to find.
Thank you Mr Holmes.

We're in the middle of recording our new album with Dave and so far, it's been way beyond our expectations in the best possible way. The attention to detail and level of involvement was way and above. His musical knowledge along with calm demeanour really drove us to get the best record we could make. His ongoing committment to the project, from day one, was exceptional and he made this seem like it was his priority while, no doubt, dealing with several other projects. We have no hesitation in recommending Dave and this studio to anyone looking to record. Plus, it's cool to record on a boat.

By far one of the best studios I’ve ever had the chance to work at. Experienced and friendly engineers. Large choice of gear, from vintage instruments to mics and high-end audio equipment: a paradise for producers and recording artists.
Lightship 95 Studio is and will always be one of my favorite creative shelters… oh and of course.. it’s on a boat! Highly recommended!

Love recording at Lightship 95 so much! We’ve recorded a bunch of songs with Dave as well as filmed live sessions at the ship and it always comes out to a really high standard. Great setup in terms of mics, amps and other gear. My band’s go to studio in London for sure!!

Outstanding. Great studio, friendly and professional vibe, the equipment is top notch and the guys really know what they're doing. Recorded a single for my band 'The Steady Letters' in one day thanks to their speed and efficiency. Cant wait to go back. Plus- it's on a boat!
