I just simply love music shops. I'm like a kid in a candy store. Its just simply great to see these old music shops with plenty of history still around for us all to enjoy. And I hope it goes on for many,many years to come.

Lovely people, my friend goes there loads to check out guitars, get new strings or picks etc and have riendly chats. I've been in a few times and have been pleased each time. The prices can be bit high sometimes but for an independent shop it's fine. It seems like all the bad reviews aren't all completely fair so be careful what you believe.

Great independent music shop with a great variety of modern and vintage gear. Excellent for guitarists looking for rare or unusual electric and acoustic guitars. Also stocks effects, amps, accessories and also pro- repairs. Not just guitar though, also old saxes, keyboards, banjos and unusual stringed instruments. Neil and his team are always on hand for advice and help on choosing instruments - which is helpful for beginners. You just can't get this service on-line.

Nowadays, It's difficult to find a place for musical instrument repairs. I found my old guitar in the basement last month and immediately brought it to these guys for checking and repair. They were really quick and called me in two days that the guitar is ready and I can pick it up. Highly recommend them.

Very good service, reasonable prices and good advice in this shop. They can fix anything from a keyboard or amplifier to guitars, violins or a double bass There are always some great vintage instruments and pedal boards to be found in here as well as a selection of guitars and other instruments.

I would definitely recommend Portobello Music. Great service. Can't say enough good things about this place. Excellent service. Had my guitar repaired and worked on and it came back better than new! Really do a great job!
