the studio is an analogue wonderland, and Dave understands what a song does & doesn't need so you can bounce ideas around til you get it just right. Low-stress creative environment to craft your music in...*****.

Loads of awesome, eclectic gear. Lots of exotic toys! (with valves etc...!) Dave's a super talented engineer with a very "musical ear" who gets the most out of his gear and really help you get a great sound. Anyone can buy a load of equipment - this guy knows how to use it! A friendly studio - go visit and see / hear for yourself! I did and was very happy. George (Client)

100% would recommend recording here. I first heard about the attic sounds through the Herne Hill Music Bar Off the Cuff. One of the sound engineers at the bar, Dave, is also a sound engineer at attic sounds.
I'd done some gigs at Off the Cuff which meant I had worked with Dave before and knew he was easy to work with and could make a great sound. After looking around at other studios, I still couldn't find a place that beat attic sounds' rates so decided to record my band with them.
I booked to record 3 songs over 2 days and the results were phenomenal. I talked to Dave before the recording about what type of thing we were looking for. He got exactly the type of vibe we were looking and this was really reflected in the results. He was extremely efficient in setting up and going through the recordings, helpful in offering advice and generally really easy to get along with. He went the extra mile to find the exact right sound we were looking for, both during the recording (mic, amp set ups etc) and also in post production and by the end of the second day we were amazed by the quality of the rough edits.
Dave then went the extra mile and did some mastering that really beefed up the whole sound. He was also extremely fast, getting the final mastered tracks within days of the initial recording.
All in all, a bit over £200 for 2 days of recording, 3 excellently produced tracks, and a really enjoyable experience. Can't beat that.

We used The Attic Sounds to record 6 tracks for an ep for The SD5. It was originally going to be 5 tracks but things went so smoothly we recorded 6. Dave obviously has a great knowledge of recording but also provided a relaxed atmosphere we felt comfortable in & the studio is well equipped with both musical instruments and recording software. We were really pleased with the results so as well as Mixing the Tracks they were also mastered at The Attic Sounds. Prices were very competitive. Thoroughly recommended.

Great sounding studio with an excellent engineer. Especially good for capturing fat, valve driven guitar sounds. I've also recorded some great drum tracks here.
Affordable and easy to work with..plus a great collection of mics, preamps and analogue outboard. Superb.

I am an extremely nervous performer, who had never done any real recording previously. Arriving I was immediately reassured by the friendly environment and able to really enjoy the session through my nerves. The whole experience was delightful - both professional and un-daunting in perfect balance.
Really really happy with the tracks and would happily recommend the studio to anyone.
HOORAY FOR THE ATTIC SOUNDS AND THANKS AGAIN!

I recorded some live tracks here with my bandmate and we had a great time. The sound engineer Dave really made us feel at ease and worked tirelessly to achieve the sound we were after. I'm really pleased with the results and have recommended the studio to a number of people. Well worth checking out!

Dave Mountain at The Attic Sounds mixed and mastered an album I’d recorded at another studio. I was pretty obsessive about how it sounded and Dave matched my fanaticism over the results but with a supportive and easy-going manner that made the process a joy. The Attic Sounds is incredible value considering his abilities.
