Took my hollow body in for a repair job and ended up getting it a full set up as I can’t remember the last time I had it done. Had no reservations leaving my guitar with Pete and he’s very amiable, knowledgeable and experienced at this sort of thing. The service was excellent and the end results were amazing. Guitar repaired (and looks tonnes better than it once did) and all those niggly things like fret buzz have now gone. It plays great, and just in time for gigs and recording too. Have no hesitations recommending Pete and am already telling friends to get booked in. The turnaround time is super quick too. Many thanks, Pete.

I (Greg) recently gave Pete a late 60's Japanese "Teisco" Gibson SG copy which only hummed rather than playing. Pete was really enthused to be working on a more obscure brand of guitar and was able to diagnose the problems and give a ballpark price quote. He texted me with his progress and did a partial rewire and found a period specific tremelo arm. He did a fantastic job and was a genuine fellow in all of my dealings with him!

What an absolutely awesome shop. I have been in many times for purchases, repairs and just have have a coffee and a chat. Pete is knowledgeable and very skilful with all things guitars. I have purchased a gorgeous Strat and a vintage Fender Amp. All the guitars that leave the shop are professionally set up--this is not the case from most guitar shops--and are ready to gig with. If something needs a bit of a tweak after purchase, Pete is more than happy to set it right on the spot. My son has just started 1 to 1 lessons for electric guitar with Johnny as he wants do grading in preparation for a music A-Level. I have no doubt that Johnny will help him get to where he needs to be in preparation for his course. They also do group lessons for beginners at the Old Levenshulme Library. This shop is exactly what the local music community has needed for a while. I highly recommend visiting and patronising this fabulous shop whether you are a beginner, a seasoned pro or just someone who wants to fulfil their dream fixing up that old guitar in the closet and get playing again.

Had 3 basses (Player Plus Jazz Bass, Musicman Stingray, Squier Jazz Bass) in with him (including one with a fairly niche electrical fault) and all have come out like new. Pete has refinished my guitar and it looks fantastic! I have a Mexican Strat which I love, but the finish was always disappointing. Pete stripped the polyester finish and applied a beautiful new nitrocellulose coat in a lovely green. Throughout the process Pete has provided fantastic advice, and suggested other things to look at as well. Not only is he clearly very knowledgable, but he ensures you understand what is happening and why. He also performed a top notch set up before it was returned. It has never looked or played better.

Rigby's quote for a re-fret was only half the cost of another local luthier!! Took the guitar in on the same day I phoned, and it transpired that I didn't need a re-fret; just some work on the frets, which was great news. Rigby did a great job on the frets and a set-up, and now the guitar sounds great. Job was done in less than a week and communication throughout was excellente.
