A great spot. As a fan of mostly electronic music, I was slightly disappointed to begin with until, just as we were leaving, the back room was opened. Inside is the rally good stuff. I spent more money than I should, but found some records that I’ve not seen in shops before. From my relatively limited experience of Newcastle’s record shops, this is the best

The best vinyl spot in newcastle for sure. I visit twice a month if able, to browse both new and old stock, always find hidden gems - isn't that the point of "crate digging". The store is well laid out, the used items being in the back, making it feel like a secret vip club of sorts, as many miss it. The staff are down to earth and human, no snobbery here and always seem to have a laugh with each other and the staff. Pricing always seems just right too - with rare items being just below what you'd paid on discogs, and new stock being cheaper than many competitors. They have a great rewards program, evert ten purchases is ten pounds off (if memory serves ) - always making big spends that little more justified. I'm struggling to think how it could be improved, maybe a monthly "staff recommends, what we listen to" section for discovering new material , but even that comes down to what kind of person you are. If you can only visit one record shop in newcastle, for the love of all things music , make it beatdown.

Always pop in here when I’m in town, which isn’t that often these days. Great shop and good selection of all genres. Always end up coming away with something I wasn’t expecting or particularly looking for!

Currently title holder of Best Record Shop in Newcastle, imho. Friendly knowledgeable staff, and there's a massive selection of vinyl and CDs across all genres of music. As a side note, I'd hazard that few people in the northeast know as much about hip-hop (and music in general) as its owner Nick, and he's a cheery comedy-genius to boot too, which is nice. They also do a full mail-order service via their website too, and they rightly took covid precautions seriously throughout the entire pandemic, to keep staff and patrons safe. Much respect to them.

Excellent bricks and mortar record shop. The staff were beyond helpful and knowledgeable on their retro-thrash metal to boot - result! Sadly going through the process of replacing stolen albums; coming into a bona-fide record shop for the first time in a long time was a nostalgic experience to say the least and I was overjoyed to find the staff had the same attitudes as the staff in indie shops 20-30 years ago (dash I miss Volume's Durham and Toon branches). Support them! On Discogs too👍

I have visited this record shop periodically for about 5 years. It has a great selection of LP in all genres, including very niche tastes. Through the back is a lot of 12” singles and a turntable to listen to them on. This is great record store with real music enthusiasts. Highly recommended.

Brilliant Record shop went here to buy 2 Black Metal Vinyls by Leviathan Which Are hard to find anywhere and would probably have to buy from the Record label overseas. I'm not really the kind of person for record shops but I gave in and went hunting for a present. From the outside it didnt look like much, so I didnt know what to expect. One way to describe this place is like Dr Who's tardis. Walking in you're greeted by a various selection on CDs and vinyl records, they had a little selection of cassettes as well. Looking around I saw a sign leading into a vinyl room upon further investigation wow. Possibly every genre of music you could wish from jazz, to heavy metal, the selection of vinyl records to singles was amazing. Friendly approachable staff, I'm surprised they remember everything they've got in the store. After this being the first visit, it will definitely be the first of many.

Visited this shop after rediscovering vinyl. Great prices, nice guys, and I cheekily asked for one of their Kate Bush advertisement posters, and the guy smiled, took it off the wall, and handed it to me. For that, I’ll be going back.

A decent shop - lots of records to browse - the guys play a lot of loud 'heavy stoner death metal noise punk'.... which makes you feel like you are in 80s L.A, on a meth binge and the terminator is going to crash through the wall any second. So all in all a good spot.
