Bryce was recommended to me for any issues I had with my saxophone.
Last year I bought a new saxophone from the Edinburgh Music Centre as I had complete confidence in Bryce.
He is very welcoming and very knowledgeable so it’s no problem for me to travel from Glasgow to get his advice and any adjustments I need throughout the year.
I would highly recommend him if you want to buy an instrument or get one repaired.

I decided to go for a walk to clear my head and consider a new lyric and chord structure for a song. As I was passing through a part of Edinburgh that I'm not often in, I caught a glimpse of a guitar in a shop window. I had to stop.
I was delighted to find not only a great collection of beautiful guitars but also of other instruments. What a great find. I spoke at length to Bryce, the owner who took the time to show me around. There are some stunning instruments for sale there. His repairs and restoration of instruments appear to be his passion and it looks as if he excels in the field.
I would urge you to visit.
Great place, fascinating and friendly guy.

What an amazing service! The knowledge and experience of instruments really shines and everyone is catered for regardless of what you play or how long you've been playing. Truly one of the best music centres in the UK.

Bryce was absolutely brilliant, turned my instrument around in one day and it's like new! Highly recommended

Popped in today to sell a guitar, ended up staying for an hour chatting to Bryce. I know nothing about brass or woodwind, but they have a great selection of guitars and basses in the store (and more online).
I got to peek around the massive workshop through the back, and had a go on a lovely fender jazz bass in the wee soundproof booth.
They’re also ridiculously on top of all the COVID stuff - everything either gets sterilised in a big fancy ultrasonic machine or sprayed down with isopropyl stuff after someone tries it out, and everyone is in masks & gloves.
Definitely worth popping in if you’re in the area to have a look.

Bryce has serviced and repaired my saxophones for over 5 years now and I wouldn't use anyone else. Incredible attention to detail at great prices and it's always a laugh and good fun when I head into the shop. Since the Music Centre has opened I find myself spending even more time in there testing everything out - apologies Bryce! Highly recommend to any student or professional. Hopefully see you for a coffee and catch up in the shop soon when I'm home 😄

This is undoubtedly the place to go in the Edinburgh area for all kinds of instrument refurbishment, servicing and upgrading. Bryce has a vast array of tools and expertise, making and adjusting components to fit vintage instruments of all kinds. He's worked on my Mk VI tenor sax with a complete overhaul and ultrasonic cleaning and helped me modify a clarinet mouthpiece to fit my large-bore English clarinet. Always willing to go the extra mile. Now with a great shop area in front of the workshop, this place is a vital part of the Edinburgh and Scotland scene.

Bryce has been fixing my horns for years and has always done excellent work. He's definitely got a great eye for detail and is always up for some more unusual work too! Drilling new vents in my duff sousaphone valves, designing and fabricating an extra trigger for my trumpet and giving my slightly sad looking de-lacquered bass trombone a radical new finish are definitely some of the highlights.
Also, the new shop is looking great and is filled with some very tempting items... well worth popping in for a visit and a chat!

Bryce is a rare breed- a true craftsman who is fair , trustworthy and friendly. The shop he’s put together through decades of his own hard work is the best of its kind I’ve ever been in and he really takes pride in setting everything up beautifully that goes out his door, new or second hand. From entry level instruments to pro horns , you’re not going to get a better or more personal service anywhere. Don’t go elsewhere, there’s nowhere close to Edinburgh Music Centre, and they’ll do you a cracking coffee.

Bryce has created a music lover’s dream - a shop for all your musical instrument needs. The shop complements the existing workshop where your cherished instruments are lovingly serviced and repaired.
Bryce himself is a very genial host with outstanding knowledge of all he sells.
I bought my French Horn from Bryce and take it back to him for its annual service plus for any running repairs. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The best saxophone repair I have had. Bryce is onto only exceptional at what he does but is also the nicest guy to deal with. Would highly recommend Edinburgh Music Centre for anyone looking to repair or purchase an instrument. Cannot speak highly enough of these guys.

I happened upon Bryce and his fantastic workshop when I was looking for my instrument to be cleaned and serviced. Little did I know that the workshop was the first in Scotland to have an ultrasonic cleaner, which removed the small ecosystem that had started to evolve in my tuba! I’ve also pointed any professional colleagues visiting Scotland on tour towards the workshop for help with any last minute repairs, and many of those colleagues now use Bryce as their technician of choice. Bryce has looked after my personal instruments for over ten years, carrying out repairs, refurbishments, and miraculous works of engineering, be it getting rotary valve springs made to an exact tolerance, to bringing a tuba back to life that met with a nasty accident. Bryce has also helped many of my pupils with instrument repairs and servicing and has always shown the same high standards of care and customer service and with the new premises I am sure that the services on offer will continue with the very high standard set already.

Bryce has been looking after my saxophones since I was 14 and I wouldn't trust anyone else. His work is fantastic and always takes a genuine interest in the musicians he deals with. The new shop is amazing with a huge selection of intstruments/accessories and is sure to become the best regarded of it's kind in Scotland. Highly recommended.

Fantastic little shop, excellent service. I’ve purchased a bass flute and Alto flute through Bryce. Instruments were expertly set up for me. I’ve handed him a box of bits and had a wonderful flute returned to me. Bryce is a genius, his knowledge is amazing and no job is too big or too small. If he doesn’t have what your looking for he’ll get it. One stop shop that caters for all needs.

Used the Edinburgh Music Centre many time's, always friendly, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I'd started out learning saxophone but was unsure in what to buy but with the help of the shop owner "Bryce" I was pointed in the right direction with my student sax, mouthpiece and reed strength, I've since then again with help from Bryce progressed to a fantastic Yanagasawa pro alto sax. Can't give enough star's for this review,. Excellent friendly service from a business that knows his stuff. And the shop's pretty cool.

I've used Bryce Ferguson for more years tha. I can remember now and he's my first point of call for all things regarding my equipment. I'm professional trumpet player and have the highest expectations of my equimpet, if there are any problems or fixes required with my instruments I demand the same level of expertise with the repairs, Bryce has never failed to deliver. The new shop looks amazing, I've yet to try a coffee and the practice room is great too. Highly, highly. Recommended.

Bryce has been servicing my saxes for several years now. His reputation for masterful craftsmanship is so well deserved. He brings a wealth of technical expertise, patience and care to his work. If you're blower like me he's an essential part of your musical life. He' and handsome Alfie are great company and make mean expressos. 5 Stars ++++

Bryce is so trustworthy and thorough. I left my horn with him whilst I was away and he did the best full overhaul I have ever had on my saxophone. So much attention to detail and respect for the age of the instrument, also just a great hang and very knowledgeable guy.
I. D.
Bryce is extremely knowledgeable about all things music. He helped me out with some new strings for my guitar but looking at his handiwork with other instruments & the shop itself, it is clear that he is a craftsman of the highest quality. I highly recommend the swrbices of Edinburgh Music Centre.

I have used Bryce Fergusson for years now, he has done everything from complete overhauls to minor repairs. I have always been impressed with his enthusiasm and passion for quality musical instruments, and have bought several from him. I have sent numerous pupils to him to buy their own instruments as I trust him to recommend a suitable and quality instrument. The Banter is top quality and just when you thought it couldn't get any better , he has started selling guitars too!.

The Edinburgh Music Centre which opened this year in Edinburgh is an absolute gem. The owner Bryce, who is also the resident instrument repairer, has thought of absolutely everything. One of the things I love about the shop is the welcoming atmosphere, you are always greeted with a smile and the finest customer service. I also love that wherever you look there is so much to see. From the shiny and new or unusual and interesting or to the rare and vintage instruments, as well as all the accessories, are a feast for the eyes. There is a private sound booth where instrument lessons take place and you can spend time trying out before you buy. There are a series of different specialised workshops connected to the shop where Bryce works his magic. If you haven't discovered this wonderful shop yet you are in for such a treat when you visit.

Bryce has serviced and repaired not only my instruments but those of many of my pupils for many years now. He does a great job and is also happy to chat and provide good advice. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommended! Can't wait to visit the new place! :-)

The Edinburgh Music Shop (and Bryce's excellent and speedy work) is a much needed asset for all musicians in Scotland. The newly refurbished and extended shop is very impressive with a great stock of instruments (and very nice coffee too).
Close to the motorway, M8 and Ring Road so easily found from Glasgow side.
Highly recommended.

I recently bought a Selmer Alto from Bryce that had a major refurbish. The refurbishment was exceptional and plays superbly. I highly recommend Edinburgh Music Centre for your next purchase or repair on your instrument.

I have visited Bryce at his store on a number of occasions and have been delighted with his work each time . The first time I visited Bryce was to get a complete service done on my Calicchio trumpet, It looked & worked better than new when I received it back. I have also had work done on my rotary trumpets, a Ganter G7 Bb trumpet and Yamaha custom C trumpet.
3 years ago Bryce gold plated some of my mouthpieces, the gold is still holding strong, unlike a number of so called specialists who advertise their services on the internet. I have seen some custom triggers which Bryce made and installed on a Mt Vernon Bach trumpet, My next visit will include asking Bryce to make and install a trigger on my Schilke P5-4 BG

This is the absolute "go-to" place for all things saxophone, not to mention all other brass, woodwind, and now guitars. Bryce Ferguson's knowledge is second to none - he's now repairing instruments from all over the world, and is a Selmer Mk VI expert. In recent years he's overhauled my Mk VI tenor twice, and my Yanagisawa soprano once - all magnificent. The new shop is wonderful, with a soundproof room for making loud noises. Thumbs up all round, nice people, great service, quality merchandise...and great coffee!
K. L.
This is a fantastic business, my go to place for all my repairs. The work is always superb and very reasonably priced and Bryce is a great guy, the atmosphere in the shop is great. I send all my colleagues and pupils to Bryce for great quality instruments and repairs, highly recommended.

Bryce is a first class brass repair technician . I was trying to source a quality 2nd hand instrument for a pupil and called Bryce to find exactly what I was looking for. The family picked the instrument up and couldn’t be happier.......
As a trumpet player, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to look after my own instruments and my favourite mouthpiece bottle opener is still going strong after 5/6 years!
Cheers again,
Paul

The Edinburgh Music Shop is just brilliant and Bryce's knowledge and experience is invaluable. I have had my saxophones serviced by him over the years and they always come out better than new!

We have went to Bryce for our Son's instruments since he started playing at School and played for Edinburgh Schools Jazz Orchestra, he is now a 24 yr old and still uses his services . With a great after service and with his knowledge & advice Bryce will always supply you with the instrument you require, whether a beginner or an accomplished musician.Everybody needs music in their lives.

What do you look for in a music shop and instrument repair centre? I've been a loyal customer for around ten years, so Bryce Ferguson must be doing something right. His Edinburgh business started off as an instrument repair workshop and the first big job he did for me was the total restoration of my 1949 Selmer Super Balanced Action tenor sax, which I bought as an unplayable wreck. He sourced the missing parts, stripped it down and did a full overhaul. He even restored its original case. It is now my pride and joy and plays so sweetly. He has, over the years, fixed and overhauled my alto sax and my clarinets. In his sparkling new premises, he tempts me every time I go in with a mouth-watering array of gleaming horns and shiny guitars. Such a good place to visit, and such a quality repair shop.

This is my mecca for all things brass and for first class customer service. If you are looking for a repair, restoration or merely to consult with a highly experienced professional - Bryce will provide all the above and can also source a fantastic range of top quality instruments, if you're looking to replace your trumpet through to providing an extensive variety of guitars and amps.

I have had various repairs and complete overhauls on my tenor saxophone from Bryce over the years. Absolutely FANTASTIC work done every time ! quick, friendly and completely reliable service! . I highly recommend the Edinburgh Music Centre. I wouldn't go anywhere else .

Bryce is an absolute pleasure to deal with, but even more importantly his instrument repair work is fantastic - I’ve had my selmer Mk6 since the 70s so a few overhauls over the years- Bryce’s work has made it the best it’s ever been.
M. B.
Super welcoming, friendly vibe created by the owner, Bryce. Even though I didn’t end up buying any of the beautiful saxophones I tried, Bryce cleaned my mouthpiece in his sonic cleaner for free. What a guy!
M. M.
Bryce has done loads of work on my horns in the last few years. From re-plating, to valve block straightening, even changing the throat and backbore on mouthpieces. I’ve been happy every time with the great work he’s done. He’s rebuilding a rare Couesnon Flugel for me just now and from what he’s shown me so far, it’s looking like another great job! Thanks Bryce!
J. T.
Need more stars to rate this place, the staff, and owner. Taking the meaning of 'shop' quite a few notches up regarding knowledge, service, care, and then there is the instruments to deal with. Extensive engineering knowledge and workshop literally on tap! I only wanted bass strings (great quality too), but there is so much more than 'just a shop'. Provably the best music centre and knowledge base hub in the world! Seriously. It's an experience. Prices are very reasonable too! What a fabulous centre!

I am glad for entrusting Bryce to restore and service my VBS flugelhorn. It was never serviced before (27 years) so you can imagine.... Bryce did a good job. Main problem was a heavily dented 2nd valve thread which was out of action. The horn got also a fresh lack on an updated trandy brushed finish surface. Bryce is really dedicated to his work. We use Bryce for repair and servicing of all our instruments at Kingdom Brass. Fantastic service and advice, always turned around quickly. Would highly recommend the EMC for any instrument work.

I had a Bach trumpet that I played on Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" that needed some serious TLC after many years of abuse. I loaned it to Tom Walsh, a London based trumpet player, who suggested that Bryce do a number on it. After Bryce worked his magic, the trumpet looked like new. Thanks so much for the fine work on my favorite trumpet.
S. E.
Great experience having a small dent fixed, quickly. Will definitely be back for instrument servicing

Finally took my beloved but sadly much battered and bruised ‘81 Bach Strad Trumpet in to Bryce for a complete overhaul, clean and replate. The work Bryce carried out was nothing less than miraculous !!! It’s now been transformed into a thing of beauty, looks and plays better than it did when it was new and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Commissioning the work on something so precious was a daunting and scary thought from a trust point of view but I would have no concerns for anything else required in the future -The work was certainly worth doing and I consider this money well spent. I know I’m not alone by saying that I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending and endorsing the supreme services that Bryce and his talented team provide....... Consider it an investment - not a cost !! (Brutal before and beautiful after Photos are available on request if required)

I absolutely recommend this great shop, having looked after my hardworking saxophone for many years doing several overhauls, a number of of running repairs and a big rebuild this year I can vouch for the quality of work done here. Always helpful and enthusiastic and now with a very well stocked retail area this place is well worth a visit.

Bryce did a beautiful job of restoring my 1938 Conn Connqueror trumpet. Sympathetically retouching the silver plate worn away on the valve casings. and giving the old beauty a much needed service.

A most welcoming vibe fom the boys here. A great stock of diverse instruments and accessories - and a most reliable degree of instrument repairing and rejuvenation. Bryce may make you a coffee too!

5 stars for getting all that cool stuff into a comfy place. There isn't space for everything you have, but the photo inventory is a juicy browse! And how cool is the "no pressure" demo room!?! You may need some more coffee cups as the word gets round....
