We booked in to Pyramid Studios for a week in July 2021. The whole experience was brilliant from beginning to end. Whilst the studio space is small it definitely makes up for it in the things that matter: A really relaxed atmosphere, a really experienced and knowledgeable engineer and a fantastic live room that gets you the best drum and guitar sounds. We wanted to use some loops and samples too but it was no issue - Jack knew exactly what he was doing and blended them in to the songs perfectly. We’ll be going back in to Pyramid soon. We just got our mix back from Jack and it was incredible, we are so happy with the outcome! The whole day was really relaxed and we managed to finish recording in a far quicker time than we anticipated. Any changes that we wanted to make were picked up straight away and you could tell that Jack really cared about the end product. Great studio, great guy! We will be back.

Recorded an EP here in the summer Jack was amazing the tracks came out sounding really good and exactly how we wanted. Hurly Burly chose Pyramid as we wanted a little more grit to our songs than we've had at previous sanitized studio work. We recorded 4 tracks with individual band members attending over several days due to other life commitments and Jack accommodated us all with a lovely laid back vibe making the whole process, not only enjoyable, but allowed us to really focus on our music. After recording, he fine tuned the mixes taking on board all our requests along the way mastering our first 4 tracks - we've since headlined the Guildford Beer Festival and headlining another festival later this year. Had a lot of fun recently recording drum covers at Pyramid Studios. Jack the engineer is an absolute wizard. His service is very professional, he goes the extra mile and will make any adjustments that you want in your recordings possible. A great value for money for a day’s recording and a good sounding mix. The performance room is nicely decorated so if you’re looking for a studio to record music cover videos for your profile, Pyramid Studios is just the one for you!!

My band Palps recorded our debut EP at Pyramid Recording Studios in December and we absolutely cannot recommend Jack highly enough! The studio itself is cosy and comfortable, we felt very relaxed the whole time we were there. We feel this allowed us to perform out takes to the best of our abilities. There were multiple amps, cabs and instruments that we had access to and we were allowed the time to try these out and find the perfect tones for each track. Jack is an extremely talented engineer and has the patience of a saint. He allowed us to try out our ideas but also gave excellent advice and guided us what we feel is an amazing result. Do yourself a favour and book up to record with Jack asap!

Why pick Pyramid Studios? Well, I (or should I say my band - Dandy Man) could echo what Holly said (see other reviews). Small but comfortable recording space (don't expect plush, but then I don't want to pay for plush), free parking, great equipment - who doesn't want to record through top quality amps and mics! No, the primary reason you want to pick Pyramid is because Jack is sound engineer who I strongly suspect will eventually hit the big time. So, grab him while you can. Attention to detail, knowledgable, thoughtful, easy going nature and excellent email communication skills (trust me that is important when you are discussing mixes). But, most important of all, he has a knack for understanding you artistically and will gently help / suggest, ensuring together you make decisions to deliver the best possible result!

I’ve had the privilege to record at some cool studios, from Rockfield in Wales, to a wonderful lodge in the back garden of a former Sony producer, and while Pyramid studios is certainly the smallest - it is a fool that overlooks this one room rock closet. Set on an auto-parts dominated industrial estate just outside Hurst, Berkshire; there’s a pretty gritty atmosphere - which is pretty much essential to making good noise and feeling comfortable as far as I’m concerned. The room itself is furnished with fairly lights, a nice rug and slightly too few chairs, which makes for an interesting power struggle with your band mates about who gets to sit where. Moving beyond aesthetics though this studio is really the best value for 100 miles. They could double their price and still be competitive in the Reading area. The two gentleman running the show play off one another to provide quality feedback and superb sound engineering. The equipment might not be as expensive or expansive as other outfits, but considering the price point it is incredible to think a band can walk in with just drum breakables and record a cracking set of tracks. It’s also worth mentioning that the feeling you get throughout the process here is far more efficacious. That is to say most studios give you the feeling you’re just another customer, that they’ve done it a thousand times before, and that they know best. Not at Pyramid. We had what felt like 100% creative control, and the opportunity to shape our tracks exactly as we wanted without feeling rushed or judged. All in all, if you’re shopping around you’ll see studios that are bigger, you’ll see them with more backline to play with, perhaps with vintage effects and gear, you might be drawn in by floor to ceiling rack effects/processing, or maybe by seriously big names that have come before you - but there is nowhere that will get you value for money like this place. If you don’t believe me, just get yourself a quote and listen to the output, you’ll be stunned.

We couldn't have asked more from them, and rates are fantastic. Knowledgable staff who show genuine passion about the music they're making. Location is out-of-the-way, but worth the trek. The setup and rack is simple, but with no clutter to get in the way of music making. Communication after the recording session was great too. Spent 4/5 weeks perfecting the mixes via email with no word of complaint. Great guys to work with, would reccomend them to any artist.
