Since August 2018 I have spent several days recording some of my songs at Blackhill Studios. An extremely enjoyable experience. Tom Gibson, the owner, is clearly an experienced and knowledgeable professional in the recording field. More than this, however, is his ability to create an atmosphere where the musician is able to relax, think and play without pressure! The studio also has access to a network of first-class session musicians. The prices are humane and Tom is able to give excellent advice across a range of musical/recording issue, so saving time and resulting in an even better sound. I am looking forward to my next couple of days working with him. Also, if you are a singer, I recommend some lessons with Tom's wife, Natasha, who is an excellent teacher and superb singer. My only concern is that when you all read this review that it will become difficult to find free dates to book for my own sessions. All good things, Steve Wicks

I have been working on a full length solo album with Tom from Blackhill Studios. He is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in producing, mixing and mastering and is passionate about his work. He is also a very patient engineer and he valued my music and creativity. This helped me to achieve the recording that I wanted. Blackhill Studios has a relaxed environment and a wealth of instruments and recording equipment. It has been one of favourite experiences of recording to date. I highly recommend Tom and his studio.

I booked Blackhill Studios as a 14th birthday present for my son Jacob to record some drums. The studio experience was fantastic from start to finish. My initial contact with Courtney was professional friendly and informative with clear communication. On the day both Courtney and Tom were friendly efficient laid back and professional and gave Jacob an experience to remember. Courtney was excellent looking after us both and particularly with Jacob helping him to set things up, to understand the studio requirements and to help him write some lyrics which she sang brilliantly over the tracks he had created. Overall a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend Blackhill Studios. Thanks for a great day!

By far the best experience I've had in a studio. Tom is so passionate and professional that it's always a joy to make music with him. The studio has amazing equipment and you feel right at home on the comfy sofa surrounded by beautiful guitars and mood lighting! If you're looking for somewhere to record this is the only place I would recommend.

Tom runs a brilliant studio and was more than welcoming. He produced and mixed an excellent sounding bunch of songs from some very quickly done live recordings. Not only that but he has a wealth of industry knowledge and has introduced me to the local music scene and helped me to start getting out there. Tom at Blackhill Studios is phenomenal. I can't recommend this place enough. I'm a songwriter and I keep coming back because he makes my songs the best they can be. I'm 100% confident in sending them to publishers as they always sound radio-ready by the time Tom's finished- sometimes even before he's finished!
