Always a brilliant, challenging learning experience!

I have been attending lessons with Steve for about a year after previously studying a 'classic' portfolio which, whilst beneficial, wasn't taking me in the direction I wanted to go. It's probably fair to say that if I hadn't met Steve I would have given up the sax.
Steve is very knowledgeable both in practice and theory and brings a phenomenal amount of experience to each lesson.
He is very generous with his time, incredibly patient and encouraging - my family say they have noticed a vast improvement in my playing / confidence since working with him.
He has a great sense of humour which I find very appealing.
Lessons take place in custom built, soundproofed studio. There are facilities for recording which is great if you want to measure your progress.
In my opinion he is more than a tutor; he's a great musical friend.

I hadn't played my saxophone for (at least) 18 years when I, nervously, arrived for my first lesson with Steve Turner. He put me instantly at ease and had me laughing within minutes!
His knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for music is impressive and his teaching style is so exciting and uplifting, that I came away absolutely buzzing.
I enjoy my lessons immensely! He is endlessly patient and encouraging and my confidence is growing steadily under his instruction.
Steve is not your average teacher, he is something truly special...he even makes learning scales enjoyable!

If you are looking for a sax teacher that is very patient, knows his stuff and has a fab sense of humour then you have found the right person! As an older student, I have been learning to play my sax with Steve for just under a year.
He has really boosted my confidence, let me learn at my pace with just the right amount of gentle push and tailored his teaching to my learning style.
Lessons are held locally in his sound proofed studio with great parking, and I have found Steve very accommodating when I've had to rearrange appointments.
He's an awesome sax player with years of experience who can play every style, and explain what's needed to students such as myself in straight forward ways, both in technical terms and simple language making learning fun and achieveable.
What are you waiting for...contact him now and see for yourself!

Learning the saxophone with Steve has been, and continues to be, such fun and so exciting! I know that his teaching is aimed at me as an individual, he has built my confidence and always creates an environment where I am excited to try new challenges without feeling incapable. Of course he has given me many basic techniques and ways to improve my performance, but the way they are presented makes me want to play more. When I pick up my saxophone to practice I am always disappointed that there is not the time in the world to practice every single thing I possibly could. This is no ‘one size fits all approach’ but a journey which is fun on the way as well as focusing on where you want to be.

As a musical novice I have found Steve's approach really inspiring and I've gone from not knowing one end of a sax from another to playing gigs with the band. Steve has a brilliant style of teaching covering both the technicalities and the joy of playing. Who knew that scales could be such fun!!

I have been learning with Steve for over a year now and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Progress has been steady and my sight reading skills have developed significantly. I look forward to my weekly lessons and I am never disappointed.

I have been taking lessons from Steve now for over two years and he still manages to make it a fun lesson. For me he makes each lesson interesting by mixing theory with practice and adding something a bit way out to boot.
