Didn’t buy anything but doesn’t stop me giving an option of my my visit. Tucked away down an ally. Great little vinyl shop, loads to look at and very helpful staff. Well organised racks of vinyl. Would recommend a visit. Prices seemed very reasonable too.

Fantastic find hidden away down the end of an alley. All vinyl downstairs with a really good jazz section and best of all great prices. Friendly service too. If I lived nearby I'd be in here every weekend!

Best record shop around! So many great things to choose from.. Already grabbed original issues of Van Halen and Dio's Holy Diver. Absolutely stunning quality! The sleeves are near perfect and the sound quality is awesome. Great rock and metal selection and seems to always be new stock. Very well priced! And as a bonus, I just found out they do Moth cleaning! This uses a vacuum machine to get rid of dirt in the grooves of the record which wet cleaning can't get. Tried it on the Dio album and it sounds like new. Whether you are new to vinyl or are an avid collector check this place out, it has something for everyone. If you are thinking of getting into collecting records they have a very nice collection of record players and HiFi equipment for sale upstairs. Wish I had seen this in the past as some of the players in there are cheaper, better quality, and less likely to damage your records than the entry level record players sold by the likes of Ion and GPO.

best record shop i’ve been to. great selection and really good prices. really authentic feel to the shop, unlike a lot of record shops around that are commercialised, like everything these days lol. loved the CD selection as well. really friendly staff. plus they were playing cocteau twins when i was there so that was nice:) so disappointed i don’t live locally otherwise i’d be in there all the time. they had some really unusual stuff i hadn’t seen anywhere else. looking forward to visiting again. thanks!!

Excellently well stocked record shop in the heart of York with loads of pre-owned LPs and singles at sensible prices and you can't say that everywhere. Some new stuff too. A couple of record players with headphones in the corner mean you can try before you buy - nice touch.

This Secret little record store tucked away down behind goodramgate is a must go for any vinyl/music enthusiast. Although the shop is small they have a wide and brilliant range of records, other formats of music, accessories and equipment; all at great prices. The aesthetic of the shop is really stylish and the guys who run it are all friendly professionals who will help you with whatever you need. Hands down my favourite Record shop.

Was here last week and picked up an insane amount of heavy metal and rock records. In almost every case it was cheaper to buy in this store than it was to buy online. The owner was also very chill, and the small store had a lovely vibe. I hope to visit again very soon! Metalheads pay this place a visit, you wont be disappointed!!

Off the main Street and easy to miss at first. Well stocked and welcolming, albeit very compact inside. I found a few vinyl LPs that I had been looking out for a while. Would definitely recommend to all vinyl collectors.

Nice to see a vinyl record store still going, the guy that runs it was helpful. Bought some old funk for sampling. They have a selection of classic hardware upstairs Technics SL1210/1200's in standard and bespoke configuration alongside keyboards and effect boxes.

My wife and I had a complete record collection to sell which comprised of well over 200 records which also had a degree of sentimental value attached to them. After we emailed the list of records through Richard responded straight away and made a very competitive cash offer subject to viewing the collection. He and his colleague then visited our home on a Sunday morning and duly settled up before taking the records away. The whole experience was first class right from beginning to end and we cannot praise their customer service highly enough.

I have the best experience in this shop. I regularly come to york and this is the first place I go! A place filled with both old and new Records priced reasonably. The owners are very friendly and lovely to talk to. I would 100% reccomend to take a look at this wonderful shop.

Overall, a quaint little record shop tucked away in an alley. To preface this, I'm not really a record kind of person; I have a few thousand songs on my phone and maybe 5 or 6 vinlys, and that's good enough for me. When I visited, I was buying a record for someone else. Despite being small and hidden away, the collection here is extensive and well organised. You can see pretty much everything when you walk in, and if not it's not too hard to flick through the records. Additionally, there are bits of movie memorabilia and musical instruments decorating the shop (not sure if these were for sale or not), giving it a really quite relaxed and timeless atmosphere. It's just unfortunate that this is so tucked away, because it's certainly one of the better shops I've visited in York and it deserves more custom.
