Reviews of Bedford Esquires - Music Venue
Great music, great drinks, fantastic atmosphere! Love this place. Staff are really friendly, and the stage is great. Great place to enjoy a rock/metal band live playing!. A must visit place on Sunday's night.
Brilliant venue, very well ventilated and not too busy. Fairly reasonable prices for drinks. Clean and tidy throughout and toilets were okay too. Went here to see Steve 'n' Seagulls. Really enjoyed it highly recommend the band live.
Great venue!! We went for the first time last night, loved the place. There's a separate bar area downstairs with a pool table and a small floor level stage, the main concert room is upstairs, with a slightly smaller bar. Really good atmosphere for music, and they have a fantastic range of alcohol free beers, more than I've ever seen in any other bar, restaurant or club. A dozen beers, and other options too. All the drinks very well priced. Absolutely loved it, thanks guys for a great evening. 👍👍👍
Great music venue for local and national bands. Bar staff are nice and attentive. Main stage upstairs is a good size and feels intermit. Air con works well, not sweaty like other small venues. Has a good beer selection and pool table in main bar. Had a great time watching Nirvana UK there recently
Absolutely lovely venue, beautiful architecture, very friendly staff and FAB bands 😊
I love this venue. I’ve seen countless great bands there and have so many good memories! Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, K**t and the Gang, Dreamwife, Unquiet Dead, Hands off Gretel and great events like the annual Bowie Jam and Extravaganza Bedford 🖤🤘🏽 keep up the good work Esquires
I could have sworn that I already reviewed Esquires, but here we go again I guess! 🤣
Alright then, with this one, allow me to recommend The Sunday Sessions at Esquires. It runs from 5pm to 8pm in Danny's Bar, preceeding the weekly jam night with Mat Roberts. The acts are frequently local, but others from further afield are often keen to make the journey for it. Genres are more traditional on a Sunday, frequently blues (or blues-based), folk and rock n roll. Local musicians (such as myself) consider it something of a badge of honour to play The Sunday Sessions. It's always a rip-roaring good time and a great way to round off your week.
I'll see you either at the bar or on the stage! 👨🎤🎸
So good to have Bedford Esquires back after the pandemic. The staff have taken the opportunity to make considerable changes to the venue whilst closed, including new outdoor areas, redecoration, refurbished bathrooms and, crucially, air con in the main room. It was a good venue before, now it's a great venue.
Although it's gone slightly more upmarket these days, it's impossible to say that Esquires lacks charm. It's a nice venue, enough space to move about, and it has that intangible but very real small music venue vibe.
